When i run the Execute SQL Task i get the following error:
[Execute SQL Task] Error: Executing the query "exec dbo.myProc " failed with the following error: "End tag 'ROOT' does not match the start tag 'LagArtNr'. ". Possible failure reasons: Problems with the query, "ResultSet" property not set correctly, parameters not set correctly, or connection not established correctly.
Sicne the XML is valid I have no idea why the task fails...
I have read this link...

... where using FOR XML RAW should do it, but it doesn´t help me
When I run csvde from within an SSIS package's Execute Process Task, it does not return the groupType attribute, but when I run it directly from a command prompt, it does return that attribute. The csvde swiches are set the same in both cases:
I'm executing Oracle procedure, which has three OUTPUT parameters and returns results in table type variable. i should not use ODBC, MSDAORA providers to call the procedure. So I'm planning to using Oracle OLEDB provider. I'm able to execute the procedure successfully, but when i do check (while dr.Read()) its not returning any records. But I know as per stored procedure results, it should return 66 records.
Dim conn As New OleDbConnection Dim cmd As New OleDbCommand Dim dr As OleDbDataReader Dim QSQL As String
I have a SSIS package that reads data from a dump table, runs a custom script that takes date data and converts it to the correct format or nulls and formats amt fields to currency, then inserts it to a new table. The new table redirects insert errors. This process worked fine until about 3 weeks ago. I am processing just under 6 million rows, with 460,000 or so insert errors that did give error column and code.
Now, I am getting 1.5 million errors. and nothing has changed, to my knowledge. I receive the following information.
Error Code -1071607685 Error Column 0 Error Desc No status is available.
The only thing I can find for the above error code is
DTS_E_OLEDBDESTINATIONADAPTERSTATIC_UNAVAILABLE
To add to the confusion, I can not see any errors in the data written to the error table. It appears that after a certain point is reached in the processing, everything, or most records, error out.
I receive the following error message when I try to use the Bulk Insert Task to load BCP data into a table:
Error: 0xC002F304 at Bulk Insert Task, Bulk Insert Task: An error occurred with the following error message: "Cannot fetch a row from OLE DB provider "BULK" for linked server "(null)".The OLE DB provider "BULK" for linked server "(null)" reported an error. The provider did not give any information about the error. The bulk load failed. The column is too long in the data file for row 1, column 4. Verify that the field terminator and row terminator are specified correctly.Bulk load data conversion error (overflow) for row 1, column 1 (rowno).".
Task failed: Bulk Insert Task
In SSMS I am able to issue the following command and the data loads into a TableName table with no error messages: BULK INSERT TableName FROM 'C:DataDbTableName.bcp' WITH (DATAFILETYPE='widenative');
What configuration is required for the Bulk Insert Task in SSIS to make the data load? BTW - the TableName.bcp file is bulk copy file as bcp widenative data type. The properties of the Bulk Insert Task are the following: DataFileType: DTSBulkInsert_DataFileType_WideNative RowTerminator: {CR}{LF}
Any help getting the bcp file to load would be appreciated. Let me know if you require any other information, thanks for all your help. Paul
I am trying to create a simple BI Application for SSIS. In Visual Studio 2005 I just get a Data Flow Task from the toolbar and add it to the project. When I double click it I get the following error:
The task with the name "Data Flow Task" and the creation name "DTS.Pipeline.1" is not registered for use on this computer.
Then when I try to delete it it gives this other error:
Cannot remove the specified item because it was not found in the specified Collection.
I am creating this application in an administrator account in this computer, so I doubt the problem is related to permissions. I am running SQL Server 2005 and Visual Studio 2005 in WinXP Tablet PC Edition.
Any suggestions why this is happening and how to fix it?
I'm trying to get a record count out of a databse using OLE DB Source and row count tasks but keep getting an error. I set up a variable as int32 and select the variable name in the row count task and when I go to the Input Columns tab to select a field to count, it gives me this error:
Error at Data Flow Task[Row Count[505]]: The component "Row Count" (505) has forbidden the requested use of the input column with lineage ID 32.
I have an File System Task that copies a file from one directory ot another. When I hard code the target directory (c:dirfile.txt) it works fine. When I change it to a virtual directory (\serverdirfile.txt) I get a security error:
[File System Task] Error: An error occurred with the following error message: "Access to the path '\gracehbtest oS2TMM_Live_Title_000002.xml' is denied.".
I cannot execute a package by using Execute Package task. I supplied sa credentials to connection manager, and it shows the list of Packages on SQL Server but when running the task it says

I'm trying to use an XML Task to do a simple XSLT operation, but it fails with this error message:
[XML Task] Error: An error occurred with the following error message: "There are multiple root elements. Line 5, position 2.".
The source XML file validates fine and I've successfully used it as the XML Source in a data flow task to load some SQL Server tables. It has very few line breaks, so the first 5 lines are pretty long: almost 4000 characters, including 34 start-tags, 19 end-tags, and 2 empty element tags. Here's the very beginning of it:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <ESDU releaselevel="2006-02" createdate="26 May 2006"><package id="1" title="_standard" shorttitle="_standard" filename="pk_stan" supplementdate="01/05/2005" supplementlevel="1"><abstract><![CDATA[This package contains the standard ESDU Series.]]></abstract>
There is only 1 ESDU root element and only 1 package element.
Of course, the XSLT stylesheet is also an XML document in its own right. I specify it directly in the XML Task:
Hello, can anyone see a problem with this T-SQL? 1 set ANSI_NULLS ON 2 set QUOTED_IDENTIFIER ON 3 GO 4 ALTER PROCEDURE [dbo].[Logon_P] 5 @User_ID VARCHAR(50), 6 @User_Password VARCHAR(50) 7 AS 8 9 IF EXISTS(SELECT 1 10 FROM [User] 11 WHERE [User_Name] = @User_ID) 12 BEGIN 13 RETURN 1 14 IF ((SELECT User_Password FROM dbo.[User] WHERE [User_Name]) = @User_ID) = @User_Password 15 BEGIN 16 RETURN 2 17 END 18 END 19 ELSE 20 RETURN 0 21 Its returning the following error:Msg 4145, Level 15, State 1, Procedure Logon_P, Line 11An expression of non-boolean type specified in a context where a condition is expected, near ')'.
Help! I am importing a large comma delimited text file into an existing table useing the BULK INSERT command. The table is 4 colums (char16, char16, varchar50, char1). The first 100 or so lines go in without an error. then, I recieve an error stateing that an entry is too long for the field in the database, and kicks me out. The entry is 50 characters, which is allowed. Any ideas why this would happen?

Lately I noticed that I cannot return any rows using enterprise manager. The version I am using is MS-SQL 7.0 with SP 1 on NT. This will return an error:-
An unexpected error happened during this operatation. [Query]-Query Designer encountered a query error. Unspecified error.
I can return rows using another computer with enterprise manager installed.
This query was run against a database on 2008 SP3 and 2012 SP2
Here is an example of what I ran
Declare @A_number varchar(5) Select Top 1 Column_Is_an_int = @A_number From Our_Main_Table Where A_Database_Name = 'A database with many records in this table and multiple records in the Column_is_an_int some are more than 5 characters'
Select @A_number Exec My_Stored_Proc @A_Nmuber
The top result for that database had an integer that was 8 characters including the - sign.
When the query ran I would normally expect it to throw the binary data cannot be truncated error. However in this case it returned a * in the variable which then tried to pass it in to the SP which of course threw a fit.
Once I changed the varchar(5) to varchar(50) it worked perfectly.

I have a .rdl file that was exported out of ProClarity's Desktop Professional 6.1 using their RS plug-in. I uploaded the file into Report Manager and when I execute it, I get the following error:
An error has occurred during report processing.
Query execution failed for data set 'Three_Month_Funding_Trend'. Unable to recognize the requested property ID 'ReturnCellProperties'.
Does anyone have any idea what this is referring to? Does it have something to do with my configuration, connection or the report definition? Other reports such as DBMS based reports work fine.
I have just installed SSRS 2005 SP2 on a x86 box (one of several boxes we use to run SSRS). However, on this particular machine, I get an http 404.3 error (file not found) when attempting to access any aspx file in the reports virtual directory. aspx files in the /reportserver site all return just fine.
All the check marks for the configuration site show green I've uninstalled / re-installed / re-booted / etc... No luck
I have a data flow task and trying to transform datas OLTP to STG db and i have lookup tables.
I do lookuping like this
first a lookup that lookup my table with connected input column parameter
second a derived column is connected to lookup's error output for when lookup can't find the value and this derived column returned "0" or "-1" this means that lookuped value can't find and insert this value to my table
third a union that union lookup and derived column
i want to ask this is there any different solution for doing this, because if i more than 5 or 6 lookup in my ssis package i add all of them derived columns and unions and when i change something i have to change or correct the unions step by step.
We have an iFilter to extract text on emails and their attached files. I have encountered 5 emails that receive the following error code, but I cannot find anything on the error code: Error '0x80fc7586' occurred during full-text index population for table or indexed view '[RIA_Unindexed].[dbo].[Emails]' (table or indexed view ID '485576768', database ID '31'), full-text key value 'E11264A2-A17D-E511-80E0-005056B240B1'. Attempt will be made to reindex it.After a number of retry attempts they will fail to index.what does error code '0x80fc7586' refer to, I have not found it.
Since the first two bytes of the error code are the severity and facility reporting the error, I stripped off that information and looked for error 0x7586 or 30086. That error reported "Too Many products".Theses emails being indexed contain attachments with large attachments that then the attachment chunks are being called for from the fdhost may result in too many chunk segments, or more likely there are some repeating words in the extracts like 4 million occurrences so right now I am testing that condition. To see if the word breaker is throwing the error.
I am doing a distinct count on a related table's column, but get an out of memory error if I run it for the entire table (works great for just a few rows when filtered down). The error I get is: "We couldn't get data from the external source. The operation has been cancelled because there is not enough memory available for the application. If using 32-bit version of the product consider upgrading.
I know I can add a related column and that works fine...but that seems to me like I've defeated the purpose, I have a good and proper lookup table, and should be able to run my query against its relationship. Here is the query and details below *Note I supplied a scaled down sample, on my actual model I receive these errors, not in the sample as it has only a few rows
List Workers Distinct Project Customers:=CALCULATE(DISTINCTCOUNT(Projects[CustomerID]),'WorkersToProjects') Other measure which returns no errors, but included for completeness: List Workers Projects:=CALCULATE(DISTINCTCOUNT([ProjectID]),ISBLANK(WorkersToProjects[ProjectID])=FALSE())
My goal here is to allow the user to view the workers assigned to a project, but also get counts of the workers assigned to the CUSTOMER of a project. For example, suppose we lose a customer, we want to see how many workers would be impacted by that, so a count of projects per worker is not useful there, we need to see a count of workers per project's customer (owner of project whom project work is being done for)The question being: How can I accomplish this:
1. WITHOUT adding a calculated column to WorkersToProjects (of Projects.CustomerID) 2. WITH better performance?
There must be a better way to write this DAX to still get the correct answer?*Pic of pivot table, again, the numbers are accurate but the formula used to List Workers Distinct Project Customers measure does NOT scale :( 3 count for red , the number of Projects John has and 2 count for blue, the unique customers/owners of those projects "Veridian Dynamics" and "Massive Dynamic". Hi, I'm having an SSIS package which gives the following error when executed :
Error: 0xC002F210 at Create Linked Server, Execute SQL Task: Executing the query "exec (?)" failed with the following error: "Syntax error or access violation". Possible failure reasons: Problems with the query, "ResultSet" property not set correctly, parameters not set correctly, or connection not established correctly.Task failed: Create Linked Server
The package has a single Execute SQL task with the properties listed below :
General Properties Result Set : None
ConnectionType : OLEDB Connection : Connected to a Local Database (DB1) SQLSourceType : Direct Input SQL Statement : exec(?) IsQueryStorePro : False BypassPrepare : False
Parameter Mapping Properties
variableName Direction DataType ParameterName
User::AddLinkSql Input Varchar 0
'AddLinkSql' is a global variable of package scope of type string with the value Exec sp_AddLinkedServer 'Srv1','','SQLOLEDB.1',@DataSrc='localhost',@catalog ='DB1'
When I try to execute the Query task, it fails with the above error. Also, the above the sql statement cannot be parsed and gives error "The query failed to parse. Syntax or access violation"
I would like to add that the above package was migrated from DTS, where it runs without any error, eventhough it gives the same parse error message.
I would appreciate if anybody can help me out of this issue by suggeting where the problem is.
hello I have a problem with Sql task when sql task tried to assing a value to my variable I have this error ""La valeur n'est pas comprise dans la plage attendue." I'm using ODBC connexion for a csv file

I posted this in the MS Access group, but no luck.------------------------------------------I've got another stored procedure in the same app that returns multiplerecordsets and the code works. But now I've written another SP and the code traps out with the 3251 message. The SP is writing two recordsets. When I run the SP in Query Analyzer, both recordsets appear. But when I step through the code, when the first RS should be there, it's"Closed" and nothing I've tried will make it open.Provider=SQLOLEDB.1 (which works on the other screen...)Seems like I've been here before, but I can't remember what the problem was.--PeteCresswell
I am opening a simple command against a view which joins 2 tables, so that I can return a column which is defined as a tinyint in one of the tables. The SELECT looks like this: SELECT TreatmentStatus FROM vwReferralWithAdmissionDischarge WHERE ClientNumber = 138238 AND CaseNumber = 1 AND ProviderNumber = 89 The TreatmentStatus column is a tinyint. When I execute that above SQL SELECT statement in SQL Server Management Studio (I am using SQL Server 2005) I get a value of 2. But when I execute the same SQL SELECT statement as a part of a SqlDataReader and SqlCommand, I get a return data type of integer and a value of 1. Why?
OK. I give up and need help. Hopefully it's something minor ...
I have a dataflow which returns email addresses to a recordset.
I pass this recordset into a ForEachLoop configuring the enumerator as (Foreach ADO Enumerator). I also map the email address as a variable with index 0.
I then have a Execute SQL task which receives this email address as a varchar variable (parameter 0) which I then use in my SQL command to limit the rows returned. I have commented out the where clause and returned all rows regardless of email address to try to troubleshoot this problem. In either event, I then use a resultset to store the query result of type object and result name 0.
I then pass this resultset into a script variable to start parsing the sql rows returned as type object. ( I assume this is the correct way to do this from other prior posts ...).
The script appears to throw an exception at the following line. I assume it's because I'm either not passing in the values properly or the query doesn't return anything. However, I am certain the query works as it executes just fine at the command prompt.
My intent is to email the query results to each email address with the following type of data by passing the parsed data from the script to a send mail task. Email works fine and sends out messages but the content is empty. I pass the parsed data as string values to the messagesource and define the messagesourcetype as a variable in the mail task.

I hvae a stored procedure that has this at the end of it: BEGIN EXEC @ActionID = ActionInsert '', @PackageID, @AnotherID, 0, '' END SET NOCOUNT OFF
SELECT Something FROM Something Joins….. Where Something = Something now, ActionInsert returns a Value, and has a SELECT @ActionID at the end of the stored procedure. What's happening, if that 2nd line that I pasted gets called, 2 result sets are being returned. How can I modify this SToredProcedure to stop returning the result set from ActionINsert?
i set up a WMI Reader Task which works perfectly fine.
But when i Use WMI event watcher i get this error.

I am using SQL Server 2005 - CTP June 2005 and I am trying to create a simple FTP task. Currently, my package consists of one FTP Task object in the Control Flow tab. I create a new FTP Connection Manager using <New Connection> in the FtpConnection property and verify the connection by selecting the "Test Connection" button. So far so good. However, when I return to the designer a red X appears in the FTP Task object with the following error:
