SQL Tools :: Database Not Accessible Error In Server
Jun 13, 2015
I was using windows authentication and later changed to SQL server authentication so that i can connect to java netbeans.i went to the security and login under the object explorer to set a username and password for the sql server authentication.it successfully login but cant open any of the my database created earlier.it gives database not accessible error.
Last week we reset the Model datable to autogrow. Now I get an error when I try to go into it. (I discovered this since I can no longer go into the interface of the program). I wasn't here when the changes were made to the Database Model, but the change was made because the transaction log was filled up.
Hi everybody, There are times when the database (SQL 7.0) cannot be accessed ( backup, routine maintenance, etc....) from asp page. In those cases i am getting an ugly asp error message. Is there a way ( code ) which will trap that error and return a nicer custom message for user or something like that. Thanks a lot,
Hi, i use sql server express 2005. There are several databases which all works fine. My problem is: when i try to expand one database in Management Studio express, i get for that database (not for others): "the database 'mydb' is not accessible (microsoft.sqlserver.objectexplorer)" and that's it. I can't see tables nor any objects of that db, while the application still can insert records into tables of that db. When i run this query: select * from master..sysdatabases i see all the databases (also 'mydb') with the same mode, status ... Thanks Tartuffe
I am setting up a web application, where the application needs to access a database. I have created the user (for the application) and it can log in to the SQL 2005 Sp2 server, but when I try to open the required database using Server Management Studio, it says "The database [name] is not accessible. (ObjectExplorer)"How do I make a database accessible to a login, using Server Management Studio?
I've a very basic doubt about database mirroring. I did setup a database mirroring session with the help of SQL Server Management Studio between the server A (db1) and B(db1). When is stop database mirroring by using the command button "Stop Mirroring" available in the mirroring page of SQL Server Management Studio , the mirror database{ B(db1) } goes to state "Restoring...". After stopping the mirroring i'm not able to access the mirror database.
Can you please tell me how to bring mirror database B(db1) to operation mode so that we can start working with that database?
We recently migrated our production server from SQL 2005 (Standard) on Win2003(32-bit) to SQL2012 (Standard; v11.0.3000) on Win2008-R2(64bit). Single-server Dell R510 with 1.2TB storage. Everything went smoothly; the only nagging issue remaining is failure of our maintenance jobs. I tracked the issue down to failure of DBCC CHECKDB. Specifically, the error is:Executed as user: NT SERVICESQLSERVERAGENT. The database could not be exclusively locked to perform the operation. [SQLSTATE 42000] (Error 5030) Check statement aborted. The database could not be checked as a database snapshot could not be created and the database or table could not be lockedI have Googled this issue and read extensively. For instance, informative blogs (albeit dated) such as these by Paul Randal (Managing
CheckDB by default takes an internal DB snapshot to get the consistent, point-in-time view of the DB that it needs. If that snapshot creation fails, then it will try to get an exclusive database lock before proceeding (same as if you had executed DBCC CHECKDB WITH TABLOCK). The root problem is not that the lock could not be obtained, it's that the internal database snapshot could not be created. msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms188796.aspx details the specific situations when an internal database snapshot is not created and table locking is attempted.
I have verified the SQLSERVERAGENT service account has full permissions on the SQLDATA directory where the databases reside and has full permissions on each database within the directory. Just for giggles, I created a job (run as SQLSERVERAGENT) that creates and then deletes a text file in the SQLDATA directory. It runs fine.
Also testedI get the snapshot creation error when manually running DBCC CHECKDB against any of our databases and when executing under a variety of administrator accounts that are members of the SQL sysadmin role and the Domain Admins security group (the Domain Admins is a member of the local Administrators group that has full permissions on all SQL directories/folders).
Additionally, the databases in question are small (200MB to 6GB) and the disk has plenty of elbow room (978GB free on 1.22TB RAID5 array) to create the internal database snapshots. CHECKDB doesn't surface an error message that is detailed enough to determine the precise cause of the error. Any example successfully running DBCC CHECKDB on the SQL2012 (Standard) on a Win2008 R2 (64-bit) server.
When adding/removing tables in SSMS 2016 CTP2, I keep tripping into:
Index was outside the bounds of the Array
When editing a SQL Server 2014 Database.
If I use the SSMS for SQL 2014, the error is not happening. Possibly a reintroduced bug. Tried to use the Connect site to submit, but it says I am not enabled to use this area.
Hello, I want to get data from datatable as below. I am getting error: BC30516: Overload resolution failed because no accessible 'New' accepts this number of arguments. I did not understand what is wrong. Because everything is same as msdn library. my codebehind is: Imports System.Data Imports System.Data.Sql Imports System.Data.SqlClientPartial Class Default2 Inherits System.Web.UI.Page

I changed the Administrator Password on our Server. I also changed the sa password for the SQL Server to match. Ever since then, if one of my web pages attempts to retrieve data, the user get the error:
SQL Server does not exist or access denied.
This is strange because my pages do not use the sa account in order to retrieve data. I have a copy of MS Access installed locally on the server. Using it I can access the SQL Server data with linked tables. So the SQL Server is obviously servicing internal requests.
I tried changing the passwords back again, but the problem still persists.
I am having problems installing the SQL Server Compact Server Tools on my Vista laptop to allow me to connect my Mobile Device running SQL Server Compact directly to my SQL Server 2005 database through IIS.
I have done this successfully with an XP machine so I'm not sure if it is Vista problem or not.
I have installed SQL Server 2005 SP2. When I try to install the replication server tools (Sqlce30setupen.msi), in "System Configuration Check" window I get a failure on "SQL Server requirement" that says: "You must first install the Replication Components for SQL Server 2000 SP 3a or higher or the SQL Server 2005 Replication Components" and the client components are full instaled in my computer.
I am trying to install client tools on my desktop and I am getting the following error :
Edition Change Check (Warning)
Messages Edition Change Check
To change an existing instance of Microsoft SQL Server 2005 to a different edition of SQL Server 2005, you must run SQL Server 2005 Setup from the command prompt and include the SKUUPGRADE=1 parameter.

The installation wizard is closing down with the above log error.
Login failed for user 'TOSHIBA-USERASPNET' I know that the file persmission for the web application have to include aspnet, so i keep resetting the folder permission for aspnet in file manager, but the login failed keeps coming back every day or two problem is after working with VS05 Pro, SQL Server Management Studio CTP, somehow the aspnet persmission get changed, use alot of sqldatasource wizards and often there is a conflict/hang between the datasource wizard and the need to have the mdf in a dettached state within VS server explorer, not sure but the procedure to fix this seems to be to reboot, detach and re-attach the mdf in the Sql server Studio tool, re-apply the aspnet file permission on the web app folders (wonder should i be doing this in IIS instead), make sure the mdf within server explorer is detached, the it works anyway, getting real tired of the resulting delays and design time derailment, clues greatly appreciated, thanks sometimes i can use View in Browser when in VS05 form view and i wont get the aspnet folder permission error and other times i do. last thing, is it a bad idea to give aspnet full permission for the entire web applicaiton??
hi .everyone ! i have ms visual studio 2005 with sql sever 2005 management tools
anyway .. i want to use and install sql server 2000 in this machine .. i tried to install it, but when i tried to connect to the server .. it gives me this error: "you must use sql server 2005 management tools to connect to this server"
I tried to find a forum for "tools" with SQL Server 2008, but couldn't find anything, so hoping this is the right forum for my question.
I have recently installed RedGate SQL Search. Although I can use this tool for a lot of stuff, I mis-understood the details and thought it not only searched database objects, but would search inside individual rows inside tables for a value, but it does not do this.
I have been trying to search for a comparable product. I have found a bunch of stored procedures to do this, but I do not want to create a bunch of stored procedures for all the various databases we have, nor do I have the permission to do this.
Are there any tools like SQL Search that integrate (not a requirement, but definitely a nice bonus) with SSMS and will search the tables for a value in any given row, listing the table and column (it would be nice to list the entire row, but not required as with table and column, I can do a search for the row) for the given value?
I have found this product: [URL] ...., but I do not have any information on the company to know if they are reputable.
I have a plan of decommissioning of unused databases which are not been in use for quite some time. is there any simple way/t-sql to find out When was the database last accessed by each user/login in sqlserver.
I can see a database file in the Data folder which is used by the "sqlservr.exe" process (detected this using Process Explorer) but I cannot a see a database in the list in SQL Server Management Studio.I am sysadmin on the server (also tried with the "sa" account).tried running "USING" statement with no luck.Is there a system view which tells the relationgship between data files and databases?
Ain't sure if this is the right place. but anyway, here is the situation. I have 2 PCs and both are running Windows XP (A is using SP 2 and B is using SP 1) which are connected via a router and A can ping B and vice versa. I have SQL 2000 installed on A, so how do i go about setting up B so that B can access the database and tables of SQK 2000?Thanks.
I added a linked server successfully; but the only tables accessible areonly the system tables!I do have all the rights on both servers (Windows & SQL server). All the non system tables are designated as DBO.Strange thing is that I was able to access the non system tables onlyfrom the query analyzer (not from the SQL Manager tree) by using thefollowing script:EXEC sp_addlinkedserver 'LINKED_SERVER_NAME', N'SQL Server'GOSet ANSI_NULLS onSet ANSI_WARNINGS onGOSelect * From LINKED_SERVER_NAME.Database_name.DBO.table_nameGOThank you very muchMike*** Sent via Developersdex http://www.developersdex.com ***
I recently have configured my Web Server based on Windows 2003 Server and IIS 5x. I'd also installed SQL Server 2005 into this. Now I want toc onfigure this SQL Server, so that my client can access their database through a DNS name. I request you all for your kind support in this regard. Thanks in advance.

I've successfully installed SQL Server 2005 Standard Edition on an Enterprise edition of Windows Server 2003 x64. I'm now (and also tried & failed during the install of the database engine) attempting to install the "Management Tools" component on the same server. However, in all my attempts to do so, I receive the following error:
---
The feature(s) specified are not valid for this edition of SQL Server
---
The message box does not list the features that are not valid but since the only item I've selected to install is the "Management Tools" option under "Client Components" it obviously points to something with that.
Am I missing something or are the Management Tools not supported in my config - most notably SQL Server 2005 Standard edition running on Windows Server 2003 x64?
The installation SQL 2008 R2 Management Tools on a Windows 7 workstation fails with the error, The specified account already exists.
Final result: SQL Server installation failed. To continue, investigate the reason for the failure, correct the problem, uninstall SQL Server, and then rerun SQL Server Setup.
I am running SQL Server 2005 x64 Enterprise under Windows 2003 x64 Enterprise. My current backup strategy uses T-SQL jobs run by SQL Agent (writes out *.bak files) and then I have an Integration Services job that copies the *.bak files to our NAS device. I have performed a restore without issue. The jobs are all automated every four hours via SQL Agent. Is this a sound strategy or are there additional benefits to using 3rd party tools? If so, what are the advantages and which tool provides them?
We some how is not able to entre to sql executive with the sa name and password and so not able to see the context of the database. we are not able to access the databeses either. We want a solution whereby I can change the SA login or give him the administrator right to do everything with the database.
Im looking for some recommendations on tools I can use to keeo my dev/test/prod databases in synch. Im tired of doing this manually. I use SQLSever 99% of the time but if there is a tool that can manage other database also I would be interested in hearing about it also.
Hi all, Does anyone know how I can design the database schema. I mean what tools can be used to the design the database and view the table relationships, etc. TIA.
