SQL Server 2005 Installation Problem - Error Not Enough Space To Extract This Package
Mar 29, 2007
Hi
I downloaded the SQL server 2005 trival version (180 days trival
peroid) from the MS website. But i got a error saying that I have
don't have enough space to extract the package on my C: drive when I
do the installation. Actually I have 13g space on my c drive, so I
may be miss something? I looked up the internet and found a solution
using SET TEMP=C:TEMP and SET TMP=C:TEMP, but it doesn't work for me.
Does anyone have a better idear? I had a SQL 2005 express edition
installed on my laptop before, but I have remove it, maybe I did not
remove it completely and cause this problem?
Thanks in advance

Hi,
While I am trying to install SQL server 2005 I get the following message - "Machine does not have a product that matches the installation package". The installation does not occur.
I am using Windows 2000 Professional SP4 and using 32 bit installer - SQLServer2005SP2-KB921896-x86-ENU.exe
Help would be appreciated... thanks.

Hi,
I am using SQL Express 2005 server and sql compact edition for my PDA. For synchronization, which SQL Server 2005 Compact Edition Server Tools installation package do I use?
Is it Sqlce30setupen.msi or sql2kensp4.msi or sql2kensp3a.msi? I know for sql server 2005 its Sqlce30setupen.msi. Is it the same for the SQL Express 2005?
Thanks

I am installing SQL Server 2005 on a server (Windows Server Enterprise Edition 2003 SP2) that is not domain controller and on the screen "Service Account" I checked the box "Customize for each service account" and typed a domain account (it has permission to "logon as a service"), its password and domain, and when I click the "Next" button, I am getting the error below:"SQL Server Setup could not validate the service accounts. Either the service accounts have not been provided for all of the services being installed, or the specified username or password is incorrect. For each service, specify a valid username, password, and domain, or specify a built-in system account. "

Hello!
We deploy an application that uses SQL Server Express 2005. One of our test engineers tried to use our setup on Windows XP SP 3. But the SQL server installer gave an error - unable to update msxml6r.dll. Is this a bug of the SQL Server installer or do we need to make use of a more recent version of msxml6?

Hi Everyone,
I have problem when installing SQL 2005 Enterprise to my Windows 2003 R2 cluster. I install the SQL instance on the first node in my cluster, it analyses the cluster and comes up with no errors or warnings, i answer all the installation questions and proceed with the installation. When installing the SQL engine I see the status changing as the instance is started and then stopped again etc, finally the status changes to "removing backup files" when it get an error that reports:
"The setup has encountered an unexpected error while Completing Commit. The error is: The specified module could not be found."
Unfortunately there isnt any more information to go on. Any help would be appreciated.

SSIS package meta data information is needed to covert SSIS into a Stored Proc.
100s of table mapping reside within SSIS, what tool/method would get those information so that they copied and pasted to SP to speed up efforts.

Hi,
I am using the SQL Package Installation Wizard to deploy my SSIS packages on to a 64-bit SQL Server and I am getting this error, Library not registered. I am also getting the same error when I tried to import a SSIS package from a 32-bit SQL Server. I was able to save my SSIS packages to the 64-bit SQL Server one by one from Visual Studio. My server is run Windows 2003 Enterprise x64 with SP1, and SQL 2005 Enterprise x64 with SP1 and hotfixes. 64-bit .Net Framework is also registered on the machine.
This is the error from the installation log file:

Say I inherit from an undocumented installation of SQL server. Is there a way to extract all features, configurations and such to apply them on a different installation? For instance, if the setup was executed multiple times, can I generate a configuration.ini file contains the culmination of every setup executed?

Hi,
We are migrating our production environment from 32-bit SQL Server 2005, Windows 2003 server to 64-bit SQL Server 2005, Windows 2003 server environment with 4GB of RAM. We have recompiled the SSIS packages to run in 64-bit mode and stored them in database. But one of the package fails with initial information as

I get an error when trying to install the SQL Native Client. It
says it cannot find the installation package and to use a valid copy of
'sqlncli.msi'. I've downloaded the Express setup twice and get
the same error from both of them.
I'm attempting this in a VMWare session setup for Windows 2K, Advanced
Server. I am trying to test my installation and setup
procedures. This is not a production setup, just install testing
and documentation. I have allocated only 272MB to the VMWare
session, which is why the system doesn't meet the recommended settings.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Below is the Summary.txt output file.

Then the installation seems to work fine until it tries to install the native client. then it shows a message box saying: "An installation package for the product Microsoft SQL Server Native Client cannot be found. try the installation again using a valid copy of the installation package 'sqlncli.msi'." I installed SQL 2005 on x64 machine and notice that my Y: drive (data drive) has these additional directories (shown below). I know those files are components of €œMicrosoft Application Error Reporting€?. They are shared among multiple applications, hence them being in €œcommon files€?. After disabling the error reporting using Microsoft SQL Server 2005->Configuration Tools->Error and Usage Reporting, can I get rid of those directories or specify which directory that it should go to? Has anyone seen this before? Thanks.
The following had been installed to the drive that we did not specify in the installation of SQL 2005. Is there any way to redirect these file back the window directory?

During an installation of SQL 2005 express, I receive the error message:
- Minimum MDAC Version Requirement (Error)
Messages
Minimum MDAC Version Requirement
The system does not have the required version of Microsoft Data Access Components (MDAC) for this SQL Server release. For details, see Hardware and Software Requirements for Installing SQL Server 2005 in Microsoft SQL Server Books Online.
But when I look in the "Add or remove programs" an instance of "hotfix MDAC" exists.
I must install SQL 2005 to run an application of CAD/CAM. It's being installed on a system running win2k
