We are looking to take rows from an existing SQL server table and use them to create calendar entries in Exchange server.
Is there a way SQL server can be set up so that this can be done as a trigger when new rows are entered into the table?

I am struggling to come up with a set-based solution for this problem (i.e. that doesn't involve loops/cursors) ..A table contains items (identified by an ItemCode) and the set they belong to (identified by a SetId). Here is some sample data:

You can see that there are some sets that have the same members:
- 1 and 10
- 2 and 11
- 7, 8 & 9
What I want to do is identify the sets that have the same members, by giving them the same ID in another column called UniqueSetId.

I'm having an issue creating a report that can group & sum similar items together (I know in some ways, the requirement doesn't make sense, but it's what the client wants).
I have a table of items (i.e. products). In some cases, items can be components of another item (called "Kits"). In this scenario, we consider the kit itself, the "parent item" and the components within the kit are called "child items". In our Items table, we have a field called "Parent_Item_Id". Records for Child Items contain the Item Id of the parent. So a sample of my database would be the following:

Item's 2 & 3 are child items of "Kit A", Item 5 is a child item of "Kit B" and Item 6 is just a stand alone item.
So, in my report, the client wants to see the SUM of both the kit & its components in a single line, grouped by the parent item. So an example of the report would be the following:

How I can setup my report to group properly?

Our users enter data into the MS Exchange database using custom Outlook forms. We want to import that data in SQL Server using SQL Server Data Transformation Services (DTS). We do not see Exchange in the Data Source list in the DTS wizard. Is there an easy way to do this? Maybe an OLEDB provider for Exchange?

Has anyone been able to solve the issue with setting up a package in EM, which connects to an Exchange(.edb) database and extracts the data into a SQL Server db. Previous message posts don't offer much insight. So far, all I have is using Access 2000, to connect & move the data, then extract from here.

On my SQL Server 2000, I have successfully created a linked server to my Exchange 2000 server (located on the same physical computer). I can't send request and everything is fine.
But now, I would like to apply the "Impersonate" setting. The big problem I've got is that Exchange doesn't use a login and password for the authentification but use the Windows credentials.
I have try things like :
login : <domain name><username> with the real password
login : <username>@<internet domain name> with the real password
but that doesn't work.
I would like to know if there is a way to "impersonate" user log on the SQL Server when they try to use the linked server to Exchange Server.

I'm using sql server 2005 and exchange 2003. End result is I want to upload email attachments to a table in sql. No one seems to have any idea how do do this except with .net, which i know nothing about so not really an option for me. I found this bit of info with some extensive web searching. Can anyone help fill in the blanks? I can't get the linked server to work yet.

I am having exchange server 2003.
With following details.
1.Operating System 2003 standerd with sp2.
2.Exchange server 2003. Service pack don't know ( How to check)
From last 2 months, every two days my exchange server stops responding to clients.
When I check the services, all the Exchange related services are ON. ( they are running fine).
Then I use to Restart All excahnge related services, i.e Microsoft Exchange Information Store & Ms Exchange System Attended service and things starts working fine again.
This I have to do every 2 days.
I don't know why this is happening.
Can anyone assist me to resolve as it is getting critical day-by-day.
Also How can I check which service pack of exchange is installed.

I'd like to link a SQL Server database / table to Microsoft Exchange Server E-Mail-Address data, for an Employee Directory project.
I've read a little about "Web Store", a little about ExOLEDB, but I've come across nothing along practical lines. I.e., I still don't know where to begin!
For example the "Web Store" should be created on the SQL server, but how do you create it? Any insights will be greatly appreciated.

I have created a MS Exchange 2000 link server in my MS SQL Server 2k. I have created a stored procedure (and a view...) using info from that linked server. When I am logged on the server as the Administrator, I can call my stored proc without any problems. When I use another computer (and I am not logged as the admin of the server) and I call the stored procedure, the following error is always raised :
Server: Msg 7302, Level 16, State 1, Procedure test_proc, Line 3

I need to create a week calendar from date in SQL 2012. Week date starts with Sunday regardless if first Sunday or last Sunday overlaps with previous or next month. For example, the first week in Sep 2015 starts on Sunday 8/30/2015 and ends in 9/5/2015. Too, the last week of Sep 2015 starts on 9/27/2015 and ends on 10/3/2015. Here is the final format:

I would like to configure e-mail alerts on my SQL Server 2000 box.However, we also run Exchange on the same machine. I've been told therecould be conflicts/issues having Outlook on the same machine asExchange; and apparently, one needs Outlook to configure a mail profilefor SQL Server Agent.Is there, in fact, anything to worry about? I have a date that I need to add 'n' number of business days to. I have a calendar table that has a 'IsBusinessDay' flag, so it would be good if I was able to use this to get what I need. I've tried to use the 'LEAD' function in the following way;

Problem with this is that because I am filtering the Calendar for business days only, when there is a date that is not a business day in TableA, a NULL is being returned.
Is there any way to do a conditional LEAD, so it skips rows that are not business days? Or do I have do go with a completely different approach?
I have a requirement to add new calendar columns from Jan to Dec in an existing SSRS report based on certain conditions.
The report uses a simple query at the moment.

The requirement to add the new calendar columns is based on the following conditions:
1. If the Status value is “2” then for each Month in the current year, shade in green for the particular current month
For example, if for a particular Project for month/year of April 2015
Year/Month(Actual Start date) is < = April 2015
and Year/Month(Estimate End date) > = April 2015, then April should be shaded green.
2. The logic needs to be repeated from each month in the current year.
3. Some Estimate and Actual dates run from previous year, or into next year, so year also needs to be taken into consideration.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am trying to create a calendar style report that will have 12 months (as columns) and store opening listing in rows. I have created a matrix, but the problem that I have is that the store opening listing displays in the right period, but they are not in any order. I would like to have the openings always on top, right under the header in the matrix. Now I have them scattered randomly all over the matrix. I tried numerous way of sorting and that does not work.
I am attaching a sample of what I would like to accomplish (months are columns).
In my enterprise mngr under Microsoft sql Servers
Sql Server Group
I see (No Items)
My network guy doesnt no much about this and i know nothing (all my experience is with db on my local hd.

I have sql server 2000 that was working fine until today,today I opened EM and under sql server group where used to be all my information now there is NO ITEM, nothing shows(database,Nothing) .no items under SQL SERVER GROUP.
But my application connected with sql server is running without any problem insert record and show all data.
ERROR MESSAGE:
A connection could not be established to sql server-2000-
Reason: Cannot open user default database. Login failed
Please vrify SQL Server is running and check your SQL server registration
properties(by right clicking on the Win-2000-Server node and try again)
PLEASE what that happens.

We have SQL Server 7.0 running on a NT 4 sp6 server and non of its items track in performance monitor. Under the SQL program tab, when performance monitor is clicked, it comes up and has items for SQL, but they all track as zero. You can "add" other items such as processor items and they track fine. Any ideas???
