Has anyone tried to use the ErrorRows report? It reads the
tblSSIS_ErrorRows table. How is this table populated from packages I
create? I can not find any documentation on the SSIS EventLog Report
Pack other than that which comes with it and it does not say anything
on how the table is populated. The only reference to the table is how
you can create it in another database.
I have recently installed SQL Server SP2 on a Windows 2003 x64 server SP 1 and now I cannot open existing packages on that machine. The packages work fine on other machines. Also, when I create a new package and then attempt to add a data flow component, I get an error that the designer could not be initialized. It does add the component, but when I try to delete it, I get an error that the collection cannot be null (parameter: c). I have read some posts that point to registry permssions, and have ran the sample c# code, but I do not see any problems. Anyone have a suggestion?
Every time that my application throws an .DTSX file I don't know who or what is writing on eventviewer.application if failed or successful. Execute method implements a customized class which implements IDTEVENTS but I promise that in any place of my code I'm writing that information.
app.execute(nothing,... MYEVENTS)
Public Class MYEVENTS Implements IDTEVENTS
.. .. .. ..
All the methods are declared although empty but OnQueryCancel which is customized.
How to disable this behaviour?
I'm concerned for that because of we could launch (when it's gonna in live) 300 or 400 packages on-daily basis!!!
if we installed ssis on the same server much later than the engine itself, could it have been installed successfully at an earlier service pack than the engine? I did a select @@version on the engine and got
Microsoft SQL Server 2005 - 9.00.1399.06 (Intel X86) Oct 14 2005 00:33:37 Copyright (c) 1988-2005 Microsoft Corporation Standard Edition on Windows NT 5.0 (Build 2195: Service Pack 4)
I cant see a way from the client to get a service pack on ssis itself. I'd like to be sure about a suggestion from one of your contributors before approaching our technical guys about their failure to install sp 2 of something.
Hi Guys I have installed SqlServer2005 and client on my machine and just after the installation / configuration I am getting tons of log in Event Logs of .NET Runtime Optimization Service as following: .NET Runtime Optimization Service (clr_optimization_v2.0.50727_32) - Began compiling: Microsoft.SqlServer.SqlTDiagM, Version=9.0.242.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=89845dcd8080cc91 .NET Runtime Optimization Service (clr_optimization_v2.0.50727_32) - Succesfully compiled: Microsoft.SqlServer.msxml6_interop, Version=6.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=89845dcd8080cc91 .NET Runtime Optimization Service (clr_optimization_v2.0.50727_32) - Began compiling: Microsoft.SqlServer.msxml6_interop, Version=6.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=89845dcd8080cc91.NET Runtime Optimization Service (clr_optimization_v2.0.50727_32) - Succesfully compiled: Microsoft.SqlServer.DTSRuntimeWrap, Version=9.0.242.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=89845dcd8080cc91 .NET Runtime Optimization Service (clr_optimization_v2.0.50727_32) - Began compiling: Microsoft.SqlServer.DTSRuntimeWrap, Version=9.0.242.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=89845dcd8080cc91 .NET Runtime Optimization Service (clr_optimization_v2.0.50727_32) - Succesfully compiled: Microsoft.SqlServer.ManagedDTS, Version=9.0.242.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=89845dcd8080cc91 .NET Runtime Optimization Service (clr_optimization_v2.0.50727_32) - Began compiling: Microsoft.SqlServer.ManagedDTS, Version=9.0.242.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=89845dcd8080cc91.NET Runtime Optimization Service (clr_optimization_v2.0.50727_32) - Succesfully compiled: Microsoft.SqlServer.ForEachSMOEnumerator, Version=9.0.242.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=89845dcd8080cc91.NET Runtime Optimization Service (clr_optimization_v2.0.50727_32) - Began compiling: Microsoft.SqlServer.ForEachSMOEnumerator, Version=9.0.242.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=89845dcd8080cc91 .NET Runtime Optimization Service (clr_optimization_v2.0.50727_32) - Succesfully compiled: Microsoft.SqlServer.DtsMsg, Version=9.0.242.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=89845dcd8080cc91 .NET Runtime Optimization Service (clr_optimization_v2.0.50727_32) - Began compiling: Microsoft.SqlServer.DtsMsg, Version=9.0.242.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=89845dcd8080cc91 .NET Runtime Optimization Service (clr_optimization_v2.0.50727_32) - Succesfully compiled: Microsoft.SqlServer.DTSPipelineWrap, Version=9.0.242.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=89845dcd8080cc91 .NET Runtime Optimization Service (clr_optimization_v2.0.50727_32) - Began compiling: Microsoft.SqlServer.DTSPipelineWrap, Version=9.0.242.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=89845dcd8080cc91 .NET Runtime Optimization Service (clr_optimization_v2.0.50727_32) - Succesfully compiled: Microsoft.SqlServer.PipelineHost, Version=9.0.242.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=89845dcd8080cc91.NET Runtime Optimization Service (clr_optimization_v2.0.50727_32) - Began compiling: Microsoft.SqlServer.PipelineHost, Version=9.0.242.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=89845dcd8080cc91 .NET Runtime Optimization Service (clr_optimization_v2.0.50727_32) - Succesfully compiled: Microsoft.SqlServer.SqlTDiagM, Version=9.0.242.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=89845dcd8080cc91 .NET Runtime Optimization Service (clr_optimization_v2.0.50727_32) - Began compiling: Microsoft.SqlServer.SqlTDiagM, Version=9.0.242.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=89845dcd8080cc91.NET Runtime Optimization Service (clr_optimization_v2.0.50727_32) - Succesfully compiled: Microsoft.SqlServer.msxml6_interop, Version=6.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=89845dcd8080cc91 Almost 10 message in each seconds....Any Body please help me to get rid of this. I'm running my SSIS packages from a scheduler (WindowsService) that I wrote in .Net. For the logging of the SSIS events I only use te SSIS Log provider for SQL Server. Nevertheless, the package run start and stop events (and execution failures) are still logged in the Windows Event Log. Is there a way to stop SSIS from writing this event-log entries?
I would like to loop through a SQL Server table that contains the paths to all the reports we need to run and then execute the reports via SSIS. What task should I be doing to do this? Will the For Loop work for something like this?
I want to be able to create an Excel report in SSIS after querying the data from a SQLSERVER table.
I have a IS package where I'm loading all the data required in the report and the final step of the IS package I would like to build the reports. I think it makes sense to take this approach instead of setting up a RSS package.
AS anyone seen any Blogs which explains such a flow?
I have a SSISpackage which have 10 execute sql tasks, which loads data into the 10 tabales. Using these 10 tables, I load data into 2 tables. These 2 tables are using to generate reports using SSRS. So we have creatad SSRS package which will generate report. So here what we are doing is we are loading data into those (10+2) tables. then running that report manually and sending that created excel report manully. Can we achieve this using SSIS only, so once data loaded into those 2 reporting table it will start generating reports. How do we achieve using SSRS?
I am working with the IT department at a client site trying to hook into Oracle. We are using Windows Server 2003 64-bit, SQL Server 2005 Standard 64-bit, Oracle 10-g 64-bit and Linux Red Hat 64-bit. All service packs are current.
We are working on a data warehouse project where we need to import Oracle information periodically throughout the day and integrate it in a central location with data already residing in SQL Server. This is the first time I have tried to pull data from Oracle. The databases in Oracle and SQL Server that we are pulling data from are third party application databases.
My client cannot connect to Oracle using Crystal ODBC connections. When we use either the .NETor OLEDB connections, we get the "client tools need to be installed" message. We do have the client tools installed on the WIndows Server that SQL Server is installed on. We can connect to Oracle from this locattion using Aqua Data Studio and SQL *PLUS. I checked and there is only one tnsnames.ora file on the server. I used the name from there to try to connect using SSIS. Still no luck.
I did see somewhere that there is a possible issue with 64-bit installations. We really need to get this connection working.
Why isn't there some documentation on how to do this. This should be really simple and it has taken me 2 weeks and I still haven't gotten an answer. Please Help Does anyone know the answner or some place where there is some documentation!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I get the following error when I try to substitute the strings in the databasedetails collection with variables: Error: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. While within SQL Server 2008R2/Visual Studio 2008, I created SSIS project that involves, among the rest, Script Components.... Nowadays, we moved towards SQL Server 2014 and Visual Studio 2013...Our further development of SSIS project is stacked at Script Component errors....like depicted in attachment. As synopsis of steps that we used to undertook, was drag/drop Script Component, Transformation, Add Web Service as [URL] ...., Resolve in order to set up correct Using statement....But, if we try to BUILD, it pop ups errors beneath... How to escape i.e., how to build it now in SQL Server 2014 and Visual Studio 2013?
Hello SQL Server Experts, Data Analysts, and Report Writers et al:
re: Reporting Options with SQL Server
I wanted to propose an offshoot to the pryor thread:
Would anyone take a stab at comparing Access Reports, Crystal Reports, Cognos or other options to all the Reporting Services and its components offered as part ofSQL Server, especially as to extracting data from SQL Server into a report format?
I guess this is a far as capabilites, ease of use, limitations, and especially formatting or presentation of the end report product?
Thank you to all, and I hope this is a beneficial discussion to others.
I have an already published application running several MS SQL Server 2000 Reporting Services report. I need a way to find from either the reporting services log or the application server (IIS) logs or windows log to know the frequency of each report being used.
Based on this info, the business needs to know which reports are being used and to what extend? How can I acheive this?
I have already got the IIS logs and it did not give the required info. I have looked into the Reporting Services logs but it does not provide the info either.

"SSIS 2012 Catalog doesn't have option to give read access to SSIS Catalog to view package run reports" ... Any luck allowing power developers / operators access to READ the SQL 2012 SSIS Execution Reports without granting them SSIS_Admin or Sysadmin?
According to this link posted back in 2011 (w/ Microsoft's feedback in Nov 2011: "We’re closing this issue as “Won’t Fix.” At this point the bug does not meet our bar for resolving prior to SQL Server 2012 RTM. As we approach the SQL Server 2012 release the bar for making code changes gets progressively higher." URL....Regarding Permissions to SSIS Catalog, here are the findings. We can give access in three ways:
1. READ Access – We can provide a user db_datareader access. With this the user can see the objects within the SSIS catalog database, but cannot see the reports.
2. SSIS_ADMIN – Add the user to this database role in SSISDB. With this the user can view the reports. But it also provides them privileges to modify catalog information which is not expected. We can add it using below script EXEC sp_addrolemember 'ssis_admin' , 'REDMONDPAIntelAnalyst'
3. SYSADMIN - Add the user to this server role. This will make the user an admin on the SQL server. This is not intended. Is there any method available which will have provision to give read only access to see SSIS Catalog package execution reports and not having modify Catalog access.
My issue is with converting multi-value parameters:
In Crystal Reports, you can set a parameter to accept multiple vales (Discrete, Range or Discrete and Range).
As an example:
I have a database table with a column called ID. I can create a parameter called param_id and set the options of the parameter to "Allow multiple range values".
With this setup, I can limit the result set of the report by comparing the param_id parameter to the ID column in the database. Because param_id is a multi-value range parameter, I can pass it the following data: 1 - 50 60 - 80 150 - 127
This will only return results within those ranges.
Does anyone know if SSRS provides this kind of functionality?
Is there a way to copy reports from other users "My reports" folder? I am logging onto the management studio reporting services using an administrative account and I am able to view the reports from all users' "My Reports" folder. But I am not able to export them as an rdl file. I am able to export reports from other common folders, but not from the "My Reports" folder.
The reason I need to do this is some of the users have created some reports in one environment and the reports are available in their respective "My Reports" folder. I need to move these reports to their corresponding "My Reports" folder in another environment.
1. I downloaded ChartFXRSTrial and created one chart, and able to deploy it in ReportServer, but the problem is the reports are not showing there, i checked the configuration of .dll files in the help provided by chartFX, but couldn't get anything, so could help me on this.
2. How to give Tooltip for the X- axis or Y- axis values in the ReportServer , i tried using chartproperties of .rdl file, but didnt understand it. can help me on this, and one more i tried with Dundas too, If im giving tooltip as #valy then, it is showing samething in reportserver instead the values of 'Y-axis'.
anyone ever encountered this....i have a package which will execute fine manually but when i try to schedule it, it fails immediately (within the first second).i can even right click on the scheduled package and do "generate sql script" and then run that script and again, no problem. it just will NOT schedule.any ideas?
