I am getting Exception when I set destination adapter ( for As400).
Whats the acceptable value .

Custom Destination Adapter

I have built a custom flat file destination adapter but it appears that the code is not working. When I debug the process I notice that the ProcessInput section is called multiple times. The first time it looks like everything is working, then it call it again and there is no inpout from the DTSInput90.
Why would it do this?

The Trash Destination Adapter - Really Needed?

I have a conditional split transform in a dataflow...
One of the outputs of the conditional split will take records that are just not needed...
Do I have to send that output into the Trash Destination adapter? Or can I just let those records hang?
Will there be a memory leak if I don't use a trash adapter?
I'm just thinking about if I move the package I'd have to go reinstalling the trash adapter every time...

Sql Server Destination Adapter Error

I have conditional split on a boolean variable, when the value is true, case1 output goes to Oledb Destination, defaukt Output goes to Sql Server Destination.
When I run the package with value "true" the package runs, but when i run the package with bool value "false", the data is inserted through oledb but Sql Server destination fails.
Can any one tell me Why.

SQL Server Destination Adapter + Indexed Views

I'm getting some unexpected behaviour from my SSIS packages when targeting tables that are being referenced by Indexed Views. There's two separate issues:
1. When writing into a pair of tables with a SuperType / SubType relationship concurrently with a pair of SS destinations I'm getting deadlocks between the two. Removing the index on the view that references both of these fixes the problem.
2. Much odder, I'm getting some extremely long waits (10 times longer than the whole package should take to run!) from an SS Destination adapter even when there's no data in the flow for it to bulk insert. Again, removing the indexed views that reference the destination table fixes the problem.
The views aren't mine, and (apparently) are required by the reporting app (BO), so removing them isn't really an option. I realise that there's quite a lot of overhead to maintaining indexed views, but unfortunately, the project is on a very tight timeline, so I can't look into it in as much detail as I'd like.
I was wondering if anyone's experienced any similar issues, or would have any ideas as to where to start investigating?

Is The OLE DB Destination Adapter Limited To 50 Character Fields
Mar 6, 2007I didn't want to deal with any truncation issues so I edited the SQL created by the Import Wizard. I made the fields VARCHAR instead of NVARCHAR and changed the size from the default 50 to 250.
Now I have a triangle warning on the OLE DB Destination control. So I am wondering, is it limited to only handling 50 characters?

Developing A Custom Task Using OLE DB Destination Adapter
Jul 25, 2007I am writing a custom task to import data from delimited files into SQL tables. I use the standard Flat File Source adapter, a custom transformation to add a URN column and a filename column to the data and the standard OLEDB Destination Adapter.
Most of my test data files work fine except for ones with a lot of columns (around 350 columns). I get an error when I call the ReinitializeMetaData() method for the destination adapter.
Q1) Is there a restriction on the number of columns (or data row size) that can be imported into an OLEDB Destination Adapter?
Q2) The reason I use this adapter rather than the SQL Server Destination Adapter is that I need to set the destination table name using a variable. I don't believe I can do this with the SQL Server Destination Adapter. Is this the case?
Q3) Anyone know of a better/alternative way of acheiving the above? One way I have thought of is to create a custom destination adapter using the SQL Server Destination adapter as the base but I'm not sure whether this is a) possible and b) worth the hassle.

Using SQL Server Destination Adapter With SQL 2000 Database
Oct 14, 2007It€™s always said that using the SQL Server Destination adapter is much faster when loading data to a SQL Server database. My question is, if I have a SQL 2000 database, can I still use the SQL Server Destination adapter, or is it only for SQL 2005 db? Is OLE DB Destination adapter my best bet? My data files(flat files), SSIS package and destination SQL 2000 db are all in the same physical server.

Step 2 : created Excel Connection and Excel Destination component
Step 3 : Configured the Excel File Path using variables.
Step 4 : Changed the property 64 bit FALSE
When try to run from BIDS it is running fine.
But
It is not running when try to run from SQL JOB.
The following Error i got:

Changing Destination Database For SSIS Package

I have a small problem. I've gone through the SSIS wizard and created a dtsx file which imports data from an access file into a SQL Server 2005 database. It has been set to delete existing rows and enable identity insert.
I then edited the .dtsx package in SQL Server Management Studio and added an environment variable configuration to allow me to change the destination database. In the script which runs the dtsx, here is what I have (it's an x64 system, so hi have to use DTExec):

and here is the error I get:

I got the package.connections.etc etc path from originally creating the environment variable as an xml config file, then I could open the config file and see what the path was...

Integration Services :: SSIS Package With Webservice As Destination
Oct 25, 2010I have a table is SQL server database A that is my source. I have another database B which is accessed via webservice call.(its a CRM server basically). My intention is to transfer data from A to B while B is accessible only via web service. I need to update existing one and create the missing one.
Currently I am using script component, and on every insertion of a row, i call the webservice to check if the record exist or not. If it exist I update it else create it using webservice call itself.
All this happen in Input0_ProcessInputRow(Input0Buffer Row) function.
Now this method is making 2n webserive call which is making the performance very slow.

I want to optimize the approach. Is there a way where I can retrieve whole set of rows in source table in preexecute(), filter it and store it in a List. This way, i just need to check the list a perform update ro create accordingly preventing my webservice call.
How to optimize this or even some better approach?
Its actually a CRM server and I am trying to update and create contacts in CRM sync with a database.

After SSIS Package Runs All Rows, All Fields Are NULL In Destination Table ???
Jul 21, 2007I am copying a simple table from a Sql Server 2005 database to an *.sdf mobile database.
I am brand new to SSIS and I am probably doing something wrong. But after executing the SSIS package all the rows and all the fields are NULL in the destination database. I put a datagrid viewer between the OLE DB Source and the Sql Server compact edition destination and I can see the real data which is obviously not ALL NULL.
Does anyone have a clue as to why it would be doing this?
Any help would be much appreciated.

regarding this Error i i understood its for happening Data Length . so that i was changed the Source Column Length Exactly Match with the The Destination table.
still i am getting this Error. pls any one give me a solution . SHould i Change the DataType also?

OLEDB Destination Error In SSIS Package Not Returning Error Column/desc
Aug 1, 2006I have a SSIS package that reads data from a dump table, runs a custom script that takes date data and converts it to the correct format or nulls and formats amt fields to currency, then inserts it to a new table. The new table redirects insert errors. This process worked fine until about 3 weeks ago. I am processing just under 6 million rows, with 460,000 or so insert errors that did give error column and code.
Now, I am getting 1.5 million errors. and nothing has changed, to my knowledge. I receive the following information.
Error Code -1071607685 Error Column 0 Error Desc No status is available.
The only thing I can find for the above error code is
DTS_E_OLEDBDESTINATIONADAPTERSTATIC_UNAVAILABLE
To add to the confusion, I can not see any errors in the data written to the error table. It appears that after a certain point is reached in the processing, everything, or most records, error out.
Any help is appreciated.

SSIS XML Source Adapter Can't Make XSD Location An Expression
Nov 21, 2007I am using the "XML Source Adapter" in an SSIS package.
I notice that although you can specify the XML filename as an expression, the XSD appears to have to be a fixed file path.
This is a problem for me since the path for the XSD is different in my development than it will be in production (in production it's on drive E:, which I don't have).
I'd like to have the file location specified in the config file, but since I can't make it an expression how can I do that?
Also, since they don't have Connection Managers I can't switch DelayValidation on.

Query Results SSIS Data Flow Source Adapter

Quick question on how SSIS handles queries from Data Source in a Data Flow. I noticed that when I run a particular query from Query Analyzer it takes forever. But, when I run the same query in SSIS data source in a data flow. The query results are immediate.
The query plan is already cached in SQL.
Is this just something which I am seeing incorrect or is there some bit of optimization in there in SSIS. As per my understanding SSIS does not optimize the source query.

For packages where an MS Access database is the destination, what are some ways to detect whether or not the file is 'in use'? I know there is a lock file associated with Access databases. Could it be as simple as using something from the FileSystem Object to discover whether or not there is a lock file with the same name as the destination database? I'd like to stop the package if the file is in use.
Any ideas?

Access To Datareader Destination On A Remote Package
Jan 22, 2008I'm fairly new to SSIS, and I'm looking for some general guidance on the best approach to take to a particular issue. Essentially, I've built a web application, running on a remote server, and I'm looking to take the contents of an Excel spreadsheet, load it into memory, run a whole mess of calculations against it, and then load the results into a table on MS-SQL 2005. The calculations are in a class library, written in C#, so my sense was that the best approach would be to a) load the data into a datareader, b) run the calculations against the data and c) load it to SQL. Of these steps, a) seems like the place where SSIS would come into play.
My question is, once I've got the data into a datareader, how can it be accessed from my code? I'd been playing around with DtsClient until having the realization that it was intended to be used locally. Is there a similar method for doing this sort of thing remotely?
Error While Executing SSIS Package From Other SSIS Package

And there is a task (Execute SSIS package) in First package that calls the execution of second package.
I m continuously receiving an error "Failed to decrypt protected XML node "PackagePassword" with error 0x8009000B "Key not valid for use in specified state.". You may not be authorized to access this information. This error occurs when there is a cryptographic error. Verify that the correct key is available."
As we are running first package by job, job runs successfully logging above error
The protection level of second package is set to "EncryptSensitiveWithUserKey"
Can anybody please suggest how to handle it?
ODBC Destination In SSIS
May 14, 2007I read that Integration Services does not come with built-in support for ODBC destinations, so I tried to write Script component as destination task.
My destination is odbc for oracle, and it failes with the message:
"Null password given, logon denied".
I can't understand it, I used with the same connection with datareader source and it works.
I spent a long time on this problem, please help me.

I have a problem that stops me from using Integration Services as THE ETL tool.
My goal is to load a data warehouse type of a database. The database is MaxDB (former SAP DB), but this is not the point. Let's take ANY ODBC compliant DB and assume all I have is ODBC driver - no OLE DB driver.
I figured out how to read from ODBC source (using Data Reader and ADO.NET provider for ODBC).
Now my question is how do I output/write my data into ODBC source? When I try to use OLE DB Destination it does not give me an option to use .Net Provide for ODBC. I tried other "destinations" with no luck.
I use this version of SQL Server 2005: (Microsoft SQL Server 2005 - 9.00.1187.07 (Intel X86) May 24 2005 18:22:46 Copyright (c) 1988-2005 Microsoft Corporation Standard Edition on Windows NT 5.1 (Build 2600: Service Pack 2)

Destination Spreadsheets In SSIS

I am dealing with SSIS in VS 2005... Trying to convert all my DTS packages... So, basically all my packages will extract some information from a database and load the results into a spreadsheet.
To start I am trying to do a TOP 1 returning a string from the db... The first row has column names but mysteriously the package will start to write the expected results in the third row instead of the second one. The second row will remain blank and if I do a preview against the destination spreadsheet within the pkg I will see a NULL value in the second row and then in the third row I will see the string I was expecting.
Tried the following with no success:
Regedit.exe, in Hkey_Local_Machine/Software/Microsoft/Jet/4.0/Engines/Excel/ do TypeGuessRows=8, ImportMixedTypes=Text, AppendBlankRows=0, FirstRowHasNames=Yes
Any help would be really appreciated.

Am new to SSIS and developing a component which pulls data from a staging table and drops them into another table in the same database.
Am using a
1) OLE DB Source to get the data from the staging table.
2) OLE DB Destination to insert or push the data into another table of the same database.
3) Script component to get the error rows and to update the staging table column with a flg value.
The rows that throw an error like primary key violation, or any other error should be redirected to the script component and the process should get completed.
The Error Output of the OLE DB Destination doesnt show any columns to be selected for Redirect Row option
The script executes without any error and the records are shown in error path but the records are not updated in the DB.

ODBC Destination Issues With SSIS

In Migrating from DTS to SSIS we have scenario where data from OLE DB (SQL Server) is inserted into ODBC source (transoft driver). In case of DTS, ODBC component was provided. For SSIS we used the Destination Script Component and programmatically used the ODBC related calls to design similar functionality. However we are getting the following error €“
Error[42000][Transoft] [TSODBC][usqld] Name expected@
However the same program pointing to Microsoft Access ODBC driver works fine.
Any help in this direction will be greatly helpful.
