I want to update table using SSIS. I figured that there are two ways of it:
1. Use SQL command (but I cant use it as I have millions of rows)
2. Put updated rows in temp table and perform the batch update using Execute SQL task. (If possible, I dont want to use temp table)
Is there any other way?

I am using SSIS integration between two database. Both databases are sql server 2008. using many integration but getting problem in two only only two integration giving problem, both are executing perfectly and out put also not showing any error.
but destination table not inserted/updated anything.
first issue integration is using data flow task with oledb source and destination.
second one is using execute task with for-eachloop container.
Any new record inserted or update in source table SSIS package automatically run, how can we achieve without using service broker.

I have a table where table row gets updated multiple times(each column will be filled) based on telephone call in data.
Initially, I have implemented after insert trigger on ROW level thinking that the whole row is inserted into table will all column values at a time. But the issue is all columns are values are not filled at once, but observed that while telephone call in data, there are multiple updates to the row (i.e multiple updates in the sense - column data in row is updated step by step),
I thought to implement after update trigger , but when it comes to the performance will be decreased for each and every hit while row update.
I need to implement after update trigger that should be fired on column level instead of Row level to improve the performance?

When a entry is done in the table Adoscat79 having in the index field Statut_tiers the valeur 1 and a date in data_cloture for a customer xyz
all the entries in the same table where the no_tiers is the same as the one entered (many entriers) should have those both field updated
statut_tiers to 1
and date_cloture to the same date as entered
the same action has to be done when an update is done and the valeur is set to 1 for the statut_tiers and a date entered in the field date_clture

I'm looking for a query that can "batch" update one table from another. For example, say there are fields on both tables like this:

The two tables will match on "KeyField". I would like to write one SQL query that will update the "Value" fields in Table1 with the data from Table2 when there is a match.

This program gets the values of A and B passed in. They are for table columns DXID and CODE. The textbox GET1 is initialized to B when the page is loaded. When I type another value in GET1 and try to save it, the original initialized value gets saved and not the new value I just typed in. A literal value, like "222" saves but the new GET1.TEXT doesn't.

Select all the NewID and OldID from the Category Table

Then for each rows fetched from last query, execute a update query in the Link table.
For Example,
Let @NID be the NewID for each rows and @OID be the OldID for each rows.
Then the query for each row should be..
UPDATE Link SET CategoryID=@CID WHERE CategoryID=@OID

I have contract table which has built in foreign key constrains. How can I alter this table for delete/ update cascade without recreating the table so whenever studentId/ contactId is modified, the change is effected to the contract table.

I am trying to use a stored procedure to update a column in a sql table using the value from a variable table I getting errors because my syntax is not correct. I think table aliases are not allowed in UPDATE statements.

I have a scenario where I have to Update a table with date when there are new records in another table

I load ODS table with the data from a file in SSIS. the file has CustomerID and other columns.

I would like to update the flag of the promotion ID should the promotion ID date range overlap with Promotion ID(All) Date Range. The general logic is as below.

I have a table called ADSCHL which contains the school_code as Primary key and other two table as
RGDEGR(common field as SCHOOl_code) and RGENRl( Original_school_code) which are refrencing the ADSCHL. if a school_code will be updated both the table RGDEGR (school_code) and RGERNL ( original_schoolcode) has to be updated as well. I have been provided a new data that i have imported to SQL server using SSIS with table name as TESTCEP which has a column name school_code. I have been assigned a task to update the old school_code vale ( ADSCHL) with new school_code ( TESTCEP) and make sure the changes happen across all 3 tables.
I tried using Merge Update function not sure if this is going to work.

A sql server 2000 table contains a ntext field that needs to be updated. The update is replacing a particular string in the ntext field. I heard it's hard to do it in sql server 2000 itself. Can it be done easily in an SSIS? Please kindly provide example. Thanks.

In the table, i've a primary key [ArtID]. In the flat file, ArtID is duplicate and i've a date that i already sort to have a historic.
I use a script to know if the row must be inserted or be updated.
I use two sql command to insert and update data in server.
I test this in the script
count = select count(*) from table where primary key = value.
If (count = 0) then insert else update.
When i've a duplicate row in flat file i've a error with the primary key. I don't understand why i've it.
Perhaps the SQL Command commit all the row at the end of the flow.
If it's true, can i change the commit each time the line in flat file is readed !! In this case, how can i do that ??
Or i use a OLE Destination to insert with option table or view (no fast) to have a commit all the line of flat file ??
What do thing about it ??

Can anybody explain how to make an incremental update of the DWH with SSIS. We have a financial transaction table and we only want to process the new records from our source database to our DWH.
We don't want to read all records but only the records that are new. We have a primary key on the source table so in T-SQL it is no problem to do this, but is there a way to do it in SSIS.
The lookup still reads all records from the source and then decides if the records are updated or not and it is not very fast.
Can anybody give an answer.

I need to update the AcquiredFrom table from source_office table. both the tables are from different database and server. we can match them on Code and source code. Initially if we can find out the discrepancies and then how can we fix them. Also there might be some dealerships that would have to be added to acquiredfrom table from the source_office table if they are not there already.
