Does SSRS 2005 have the issue fixed as to when the user exports a report to .xls format and the report contains a subreport?
In SSRS 2000, if there was a subreport in the main report, and the user exported the report to .xls, then it would just display an error message.

In my application I am exporting the 2 different tables in the report to the 2 Excel Sheets by giving page break at the first table,The first sheet is getting exported fine. The problem is ,the 2nd Sheet got exported with the report from the cell 'A2' only. (ie) The first row is blank,The export starts from the 2nd row only.
What has to be done to get the excel exported in the first row itself. Please help me with this issue.

I am using SSRS 2008 R2 and have a report set up on a subscription to be exported to a .TXT file and placed in a network drive folder. The report generates as it should and is placed in the network folder as it should and the file format is .TXT. However, when the text file is uploaded to an ftp site, the results of the very first record within the system the file is uploaded to, has 3 weird leading characters.
But the rest of the records are imported perfectly, as they should be. The system that the file is being uploaded into is not our system, it is a system at a USA Today Newspaper office and is an IBM iSeries server with the programming language of LANSA (Never heard of it).
I have edited the report server configuration file to give the ability to export the report to a .TXT file format and I have included the code snippet on here. Maybe I have missed something, not sure. I have also included the screenshot of the file upload results that were sent to me by USA Today. Is there anything I can do to get those 3 characters to not show up in the first record?

We are facing one problem while exporting the SSRS (SQL Server 2005 SP2 installed on win2K3) Report to Excel format, problem is when we export report having more than 50K rows to Excel format SSRS fails to export because it€™s a limitation of Excel that a Sheet can€™t contain more than 50K rows. This issue is resolved in Office 2007 but SSRS its own libraries to export, is there any way we can make SSRS to use office 2007 libraries to export? I have developed a report in ssrs 2005. While exporting the report to excel 2007, i have a problem in displaying the footer values in spreadsheet. Moreover, in the page footer of the report, i have added a few condtions so as to display one of the textbox's values in the last page alone and the rest in all of the pages! But when i look in to the page layout in excel, i get in all of the pages rather than having it in the last page.
Added to that a cell doesnt hold more than 255 characters in excel.
can anyone help me out with this??

I have a query in a SSRSreport that returns a value that looks like '012345'. The value looks fine on the report preview screen.
When the report is exported to excel, that value is displayed in a cell as '012345'. When I click out of the field, excel is dropping the leading zero and converting the value in the field to 12345.
Why is this happening and i have converted the value as string as well using expression.
I have one SSRS report which uses drill down "+" approach. The records will be opening only when you click on the "+" sign. There are 3 levels of "+" sign in the report. All records are included when exporting to excel. Is it possible to exclude all the records? Can we show only the opened records.?

And since we have multi paged reports, we have implemented document map to have navigation. while exporting to the PDF, Users want the Bookmarks to be visible by default. However, this is not the case. The bookmarks tab in the Navigation tools of Acrobat is not expanded rather we need to manually click on it to see the bookmarks. This behavior is different from Crystal Reports XIr2 where the bookmarks are defaulted to be visible when opening a PDF exported by crystal.Is there any way to replicate this behavior in SSRS too?

I'm developing a web app in .NET 2.0 using SSRS 2000 and 2005. Some of the reports need to be exported directly to PDF when clicked, but the problem is in the fact that the user must select the parameters from the report manager window.
Is there any way to allow the direct export to PDF when generate is clicked, or to limit the options the user has to export to in the report manager.
P.S. If it is possible, I DO NOT want to accomplish this using code.

Â I read where using a shared connection can cause this error so both the main report and the subreport use a connection that is embedded in my report. Â
For testing, I created the subreport without a parameter and added it to the main report. Â When I ran it that way, the report worked and sub report displayed the data. Â So I know it can read from the database.It seems to only give me this error when I am trying to tie the two reports together using a parameter. Â

How do I hide a subreport if the parent report row containing the subreport is a certain value? I am attempting to create a statement with ageing buckets. In the main body of the report I have to display payments and invoices. If the invoice row is blank, I need to hide the row containing the subreport.

I have a drill down report which need to be exported to excel. But, when exporting to excel it shows many unwanted blank rows for a particular record due to the drill down option.

I am getting an error: "Damage to the file was so extensive that repairs were
not possible. Excel attemted to recover your formulas and values, but
some data may have been lost or corrupted." in some instances when
exporting toexcel.
The report is no different than any othere report. This report uses rectagles and text boxes to control layout with two tables but it's pretty straight forward. This only happens for this particular report when exported only to Excel. I am using SQL2005 SP1.
Any ideas, thoughts, or references are welcome.

I have some issues regarding subreports placed in table within body of a report.
I have a report Edit.rdl(functions as an Edit link) which is called in as a subreport in all Open Issues.rdl(Main Report)
When the same subreport is exported to excel then the following error message is displayed
'Subreports within table/matrix cells are ignored'.I tried to resolve this issue by first placing a list item in the table and then placing the subreport on top of List item but then the error mesage states that
'DataRegions within table/matrix cells are ignored'.

Here is a situation in my company:
We have an Office SharePoint 2007 site, we developed a couple of web parts and added them to our site. We used SQL Server Reporting services 2005 as our reporting solution. The reports are hosted on the report center and when we need a report, we open it by sending a URL requesting the report, passing the report parameters in the URL query string. So the report is filtered based on the parameters passed from the web parts.
But since best practices say that you should host reports directly under SharePoint, by configuring the reporting services to run in the SharePoint integrated mode. We followed the steps and installed SharePointRS and we finally succeeded to publish the reports to a SharePoint folder, but we had a limitation: we are unable to pass the report parameters internally to the report hosted in SharePoint. If we passed them in the query string as the report center case, SharePoint neglects them totally.
So the question is: how can I pass parameters internally between a SharePoint web part and a SQL server 2005 reporting services report hosted in SharePoint?

In the data tab of subreport I insert the parameter, and in the main report I select the subreport and add the parameter...

I have RS 2005 SP1. I have a report model developed and deployed.
I have a scenario and I am not sure if it is possible to create a report for this scenario using the report builder. Let's say I have a customers entity and address entity that is related to the customer's entity as a 1-many relationship. I have the effective date on the address that specifies the date from which the address is effective. A customer will have multiple records in address with the latest effective date as the latest address of the customer.
Suppose, I need to create a report using the report builder to get the list of latest address for customers, how can I do it? I know it can be done using the report designer using a query that uses the group by clause. But can it be done using report builder?

i have a subreport and it needs to be displayed only based on some selection criteria, in all other case it needs to be hidden.i made the visibility to hidden, but when i run the report,it gives me a blank page where it usually gets me the subreport.How can i remove this blank page from getting displayed ?

I have used SSRS to develop several dashboards for use with Microsoft CRM.Â
This works very well:Â the main dashboard page contains a table with subreports in the table cells.Â
Some of those subreports show reports containing other subreports, and so on.Â
Drilldowns into detailed lists and into the CRMÂ entities are popup windows.
The problem I’m having now is with a report that is supposed to show the viewers their planned and completed activities on a week-by-week basis. They see a week at a time, and by pressing Next and Back arrows they can see their next and previous weeks’ information.
I need this subreport to refresh in place on the main dashboard page when they change weeks. I’ve tried putting jump-to-report actions and jump-to-url actions on my Next and Back arrow objects, but everything I try opens a new window. Â
I want the main dashboard to stay accessible, but I don’t want to have to redisplay the whole dashboard page, because that would rerun all of the reports’ queries and take unnecessary time. The only query that needs to be rerun is for the one subreport I’m refreshing.
Any way to refresh a subreport within the parent report?
We have been, successfully, using SSRS 2005 with SQL databases. Now are trying to do create SSRS 2005 reports using an Oracle database. What components do I need to install on our SSRS 2005 server to successfully render a report, in a web browser, using an Oracle 9i database. Any help would be appreciated.
We are currently designing a report which we hope is possible. Each month the clients employees upload receipts as PDF's to the network and then fills out their form as needed.
We are planning to upload the PDF's to a Microsoft Office 2007 sharepoint site which we would like to then pull out and use as being part of the report.
So page one will be a list of expenses pulled from a database table and the remaining pages will then be the PDF's showing as part of the report. I have seen the Jump to URL option but that presents a hyperlink option only. I need to see the actual pdf in the report.
Has anyone done anything similar where they have extract a PDF to show in a SSRS 2005 report

I don't know how best to explain this but will try.
In my SSRS 2005 report, i have one group in my table. In that group, I have a field that for each company record in my dataset, this field value is repeated for each record. This is a transactions table so you'd expect several records in the dataset for each company..that's not the problem.
example data from dataset:

3 1000 100
4 2000 400
5 2000 400
My SSRS 2005 Report has:
Group1 fields:
CompanyID FeeGoal
=Fields!CustomerNumber.Value =Fields!FeeGoal.Value
The output when previewed looks like this:

Footer 209409730.83 (totals up all feegoals! not just unique instances!)
I have a footer, and this is where the problem comes in. I am not able to sum 100 + 400 because if I do a SUM(=Fields!FeeGoal.Value) It doesn't just sume up 100 + 400 but rather (100 + 100 + 100) + (400 + 400)
I can't find a way to sum up basically the top values for FeeGoal which is really what the Group Field is doing since I get 100 and 400 in my group field for feeGoal. I should end up with a total of 500 for my footer total for Fee Goal but not sure how to get this to work in this unique situation.
FYI: FeeGoal is an input from an ASP.NET form to allow managers to update that one column in my report so that other calculations can rely on it in my group fields. Once the user finishes, I run a stored proc to insert that fee goal in every customer transaction record / feegoal field
I guess is there a way to do some sort of Distinct SUM in an expression? I also tried:
=SUM((Max(Fields!FeeGoal_AZ.Value)) / Fields!FeeSchedule.Value) * 100)
but you can't have an aggregate function like this, I get this error:
[rsAggregateofAggregate] The Value expression for the textbox 'GrossGoal_gt' contains an aggregate function (or RunningValue or RowNumber functions) in the argument to another aggregate function (or RunningValue). Aggregate functions cannot be nested inside other aggregate functions.

Where can a person go to report SSRS 2005 bugs? I didn't see any area for error reporting.
These are the few bugs I've recorded, but I've seen so much more :(
On 2005sp1, and mainly using ssas 2005 for source data:
When you have an existing report parameter that was created by the graphical query designer area for dataset1, and then you go to make another dataset and add the same hierarchy and choose for it to be a parameter, it will overwrite what parameter settings you just had (ie, not multivalue and a special default value I desired).
When adding subsequent series or category fields to a chart, the default series/category grouping name remains the same and causes a error when attempting to run the report. IE: chart2_CategoryGroup1, chart2_CategoryGroup1, chart2_CategoryGroup1 - all names are the same for all of the 3 groupings that I've added.
Presently I have a main report and subreport, with the subreport having values for a carbon copy contact, which when it is displayed it shows these values:

why the #Error is showing up the the main report?
When I run a report for a purchase order, the report duplicates records for product codes.For example the purchase order is: P000976, the report display the product code twice when it should only appear once. 45-5540 appears twice.
