SSRS 2005 Download To Excel : Matrix Column Moved To The Right (moving, Shifting, Indent)

Hi,
I encounter a bug while exporting to excel a matrix.
one cell is shifted to right and so i have wrong numbers and empty cell in the middle of the matrix.
instead of :

I got the following code to add a column in a matrix with a variance:
IIF(IsNothing(Previous(Sum(Fields!Amount.Value))) or Fields!year.Value=First(Fields!year.Value,"Category") or Previous(Sum(Fields!Amount.Value))=0,nothing,

This code works fine, except that the first row of the matrix shows an #error
This happens with each matrix where I use this expression. A warning emerges:
rsruntimeerrorinexpression the value expression for the textrun Textbox43.Paragraphs[0].TextRuns[0]' contains an error.
Attempted to divide by zero.
The strange thing is that the part
Fields!year.Value=First(Fields!year.Value,"Category")
should prevent an error and I expect it to show 'nothing'
An screenshot of the table. (each color is a different category. Each row stands for 2013, 2014, 2015)
As you can see, all other 2013 rows show a blank cell, except the first row.

We are experiencing problems with reporting services built-in Export to Excel. Basically, the columns get wrapped in Excel, which frustrates users who need to pivot and sort(ie the point of downloading to Excel). Is there a method for removing the column wrapping? Please help

We mark cells in  a report using color names like red, pink, and transparent in the fill expression. In the browser it works correctly. When exported to Excel the colors go to the wrong cells. This worked correctly in SSRS 2008.Â

hi guys,
I have added a subtotal on a column, but the report shows the total at the end of the report, anyone knows why this is happening?
The structure i am getting is as follows:
C1 C2 C3 C4
A1 B1 Y 0
N 5
B2 Y 3

B4 Y 2

Total 20
What I want is as follows:

The formatting is lost , i wonder if you can understand the structure.

Is there any way to get multiple subtotals in a matrix? For example, one that does a count and the 2nd that does an averages as per the desired result below ...

Now, I know this has to be REALLY easy but I can't seem to figure this out...I'm new to SSRS and my book order proably just came in today at home. I have a matrix with one header level and one row level. Basically the report is an Aging of dollars across time (columns) and financial class (rows). Nothing fancy here.
I've clicked on the header for the row and selected 'subtotal' which adds a 'Total' row and done the same for the column header which adds a Total for the column. But when I run the report the subtotals only include the first entry in each row (row subtotal) or column (column subtotal). Why won't it add all of the cells together?

I have a table that looks like this:

What I'm after is to create a new [dtP] column where the [dtP] is the [P] value at least 5 seconds later. I would assume I should use the dateadd() function but I've tried [Timestamp] = dateadd(ss,5,[Timestamp]) in my WHERE clause and to no avail. Any suggestions on the best way to proceed?
Desired Result:
[Timestamp] [P] [dtP]
2008-04-06 17:30:00 119 120
2008-04-06 17:30:03 120 121
2008-04-06 17:30:07 121 122

I am placing a Matrix inside the table control for grouping requirements,but when we export the report to the Excel, the contents inside the table cell are ignored. Is there any way to get the full report exported, as per the Requirement.Please help me with this issue.

We have a matrix that includes two row groups with subtotals for each group, like the following:

The issue is that the second group's subtotal label doesn't display the correct name, as in the example. It's always "Rm 34A" or whichever room is returned first in the dataset, even if the subtotal is actually for Rm 35. The labels for the first group display correctly, and the issue is only a label problem - the subtotal data seems to be fine. For the subtotal label, we have =Fields!Subgroup.Value + " Total" as the expression. Anybody have any suggestions? Thanks,

I am trying to load data from an Excel spreadsheet file into SQL Server 2005 Express. I understand that DTS is the best tool for doing this but from my research it appears that DTS is not available with the Express edition and the import wizard that does come with Express is not well suited for this type of conversion.
Does anyone have any suggestions for how to achieve this objective? Thanks for any help you can provide.

I have implemented a application on SQL Server 2005, this application runs huge queries and some stored procedures. Now that client is shifting on SQL Server 64bit edition, what should i need to worry about. What all changes am i expected to handle.

I have got this matrix and I am trying to calculate the average amount of working days in a month. At the moment, I have divided the total number of jobs by 21 for every month which is a hard coded value. However, I am not sure how to retrieve this value dynamically. Is there any formula that can find out the working days?

Hi,
I have created a report in SQL Server 2005 Reporting Services. After I export it to Excel format, if I try to print it (Hardcopy), my Excel crashes. It shows an error and shut down. I'm using Excel 2000. It even shows me same error when I click on "Print Preview", in Excel.
Everytime I try to print the excel worksheet, a window pops up with the heading "Visual Studio Just-in-Time Debugger". The error is: "An unhandled win32 exception occurred in EXCEL.EXE [3460]".
Any help is greatly appreciated.

We are using the SSRS 2005 for developing reports. In that I have some problems/doubts.
My problems are:
I developed / designed the report using the SSRS 2005. And I uploaded the reports in to the report server. I can able to view the reports in the preview section as well thro the browser.
Problem 1:
Reports are having the huge amount of data (For: report is having > 800 Pages). So, when ever I am trying to export in to EXCEL that time I am getting MemoryOutOfException. If I having the less number of pages that time I getting the result. How I can export the report into excel with out MemoryOutOfException.
Problem 2:
Some Excel sheets are having more data for ex: 75000. In EXCEL it self we are having the limitation we can not create more than 65536 rows per sheet. So If I want to export these 75000 records into excel how I do it.
Problem 3:
For delivering the reports I am using file share subscription method in SSRS. For example my reports are having the huge amount of data. That time I getting the following status in report server €œFailure writing file Weekly Install Base Report @timestamp: An error occurred during rendering of the report.€?"
Software Platform:
1. SQL Server Reporting Services 2005
2. SQL Server 2000 Data base

My company is trying to convert existing reports to Reporting Services 2005... we need to have reports that export to excel with multiple sheets have the group name as the tab label. I can't find anywhere how this can be done. Can someone please tell me when this will be available? We have the latest service pack and still can't get this done... Our large customers are used to getting their reports this way, and the document map with sheet1,sheet2..etc.. will not be a suitable option. Any help with this is greatly appreciated.... seems I am not the only one waiting on this one...

I am getting an error: "Damage to the file was so extensive that repairs were
not possible. Excel attemted to recover your formulas and values, but
some data may have been lost or corrupted." in some instances when
exporting toexcel.
The report is no different than any othere report. This report uses rectagles and text boxes to control layout with two tables but it's pretty straight forward. This only happens for this particular report when exported only to Excel. I am using SQL2005 SP1.
Any ideas, thoughts, or references are welcome.

Hi
When I export a report to XLS, I get a huge file size, and performance really takes a hit.
When I copy the Excel Data, and Paste Special - Values into a new excel, the file size shrinks considerably again.
When I export to CSV instead, the file size is halved, and the processing time comes down from 5-6 mins to 10 seconds.
I use SQl 2005 with SP2, so some of the old problems with RS2000 do not apply.
I suspect SSRS uses XML to export to excel. Is there some way I can get over this problem?

I have a matrix item in a report. It is only about 7cm in width in design mode but obviously explodes out to about 30cm in when the report is run as thats the way the query behind it works.
The problem is any control e.g. a chart placed above and to the right of the matrix in design mode gets pushed across to the end of the matrix's width when the report is run, which causes extra pages in the report.
Other controls placed directly above the matrix in design mode hold their position when the report is run, it is only those controls placed further right than the end of the matrix (and above the matrix) in design mode that get pushed across. Why is this, is there a way to fix it?

Clients: Internet Explorer 7, MS Office 2007
Setup:
Our companies reports are a mixture of Reporting Services Reports and Excel workbooks with pivot tables. We want both the reports and the pivot tables to be accessible from the same web page so users have a single entry point into all of the business intelligence tools. We have the Reporting Services Reports working just fine but there is an slight hiccup with the Excel documents. The Excel files upload just fine, but when clients try and download them they are always presented with the following Yes/No dialog:
"The file you are trying to open 'Resource.aspx' is in a different format than specified by the file extension. Verify that the file is not corrupted and is from a trusted source before opening the file. Do you want to open the file now?"
Clicking Yes opens the file in excel but it is opened as Resource.aspx instead of the actual excel file.
Clicking No opens the file in excel as the actual excel file.
My questions are:
1. Why does the file upload correctly as an excel file type but download as an aspx?
2. Is there a way to let Reporting Services associate the .xlsx extension with Excel.
3. Is this even a Reporting Services problem? (I believe it is, because we also use SharePoint and excel files uploaded in sharepoint download correctly using IE7).
Any help or insight is appreciated.

I have created a new SSRS Server and done all of the basic security setup for the site but I am having trouble with client machine access...At first I had an issue with being able to access report manager from any client and ended up having to shut off windows authentication on the client IE settings to get it to work. Now I am trying to run Report Builder from a client machine and it will not download. The client machine is on the same domain and my user id is set as an administrator within SSRS and as a local admin on the 2008 server.Â
I had the thought that without windows auth in the browser maybe it can't permit me access to the application but if I turn it on I can't get to it to download it. I have set Full Control rights to the folder as well. Most of the info out there is for 2005 and that uses IIS to host the pages where as 2008 does not. Here is the details of the error:

I need some help. I am writing a report in SSRS 2005 that I then need to export to Excel. When I put a report header I would expect the header to not display in the Excel spreadsheet until the Print Preview or the Print. The report footer works just fine I put some text in the footer, and it shows up in the footer. The header though, shows up as a row in the Excel spreadsheet that then causes columns to merge. How do I get the report header to act like a page header?

I have a simple matrix. The row group is schoolname. The column group is tweek. and the data field is thours (sum(thours)). on the right side of my matrix, I want to display the Average hours for all the week columns. SSRS can do a sum very simply, but when I use the avg function, I get erroneous results. Do I somehow use the inscope function in the data field ?? I just don't know. and I don't understand how to use the inscope function.

I have a matrix with six rows and the column is dynamic depending on if any data exists for any row item in a month/year. All rows are summations of data for the particular month. I have a row group that when toggled to visible expands all the rows. Is there a way to restrict the row group to only expand the data in a specific row?

Just wondering when is it preferred to use Matrix control as opposed to a table? Also, on a related note, can a table control be used for displaying information from one data set or could information coming from multiple data sets be bound to a single table in such a way that there could be logically different sections within the same table?
