SSRS Report && .NET Assembly Problem After Deploy (Urgent)

Mar 5, 2008

I have created reports which access LDAP to get Employee Information.

If i remove LDAP code & only take fields from database report works.

If i use LDAP code which is in .NET assembly, It gives #error instead of showing employee name.

It works in development enviorment. but when i deploy it to reporting server it gives above error.

Development & server are in same network.

I am trying with following link also but no luck

Unable To Deploy SSRS Report Models

Apr 11, 2007

I am having mucho difficulties deploying Report Models from my box.

I create a brand new report model project, I add a data source, a datasource view, and a report model. Everything builds fine. I setup the project to point to a valid SSRS Server (and I tried this on another person's box, everything worked fine), click deploy- enter the credentials, and the logon box just keeps popping back up instead of deploying.

When the credential box pops up, it has a "" in it. When I try this on another person's box, it works fine.

I just upgraded to SQL Server 2005 SP2, but I do not have Visual Studio 2005 SP1.

Could some of that be a problem?

SQL Server 2014 :: How To Return Bitmap Image From Custom Assembly To SSRS Report

Dec 11, 2013

I am using the QRCode4CS class [URL] .... to generate QR codes.

I can use the following code to successfully return a bitmap image to a picturebox in a Windows Form Application.

public class CreateQRCodeClass
{
public static Image CreateQRCodeImage(string inputString)
{
QRCode4CS.QRCode qrcode = new QRCode4CS.QRCode(new QRCode4CS.Options(inputString));
qrcode.Make();
[Code] ....

In trying to adapt the same code (below) to display a QR code in an SSRS report I get the error "There is an error on line 1 of custom code: [BC30311] Value of type 'System.Drawing.Image' cannot be converted to '1-dimensional array of Byte.'

Here is the custom code I am using.

Public Function QRCode(ByVal RetailerId As String) as Byte()
Return QRCode4CSCreateQRCode.CreateQRCodeClass.CreateQRCodeImage(RetailerId)
End Function

Here is the revised custom assembly.

public class CreateQRCodeClass
{
public static byte[] CreateQRCodeImage(string inputString)
{
QRCode4CS.QRCode qrcode = new QRCode4CS.QRCode(new QRCode4CS.Options(inputString));
qrcode.Make();
Image canvas = new Bitmap(86, 86);

[Code] ....

What data type can I successfully return to SSRS to display the image?

User Login Box Appears On Trying To Deploy SSRS 2005 Project To Report Manager

Dec 1, 2007

Hi
I have picked up the same problem that quite a few folks have identified.

I have created a SSRS Solution and have a report which I am trying to deploy to the Report Manager.
The project 'builds' locally but when I try to deploy it, a User Login Box pops up.

Has any one been able to ascertain what causes the problem and how does one go about resolving the problem.
I am using Window Authentication on WIndows XP SP2 with SQL Server 2005 Developers Edition and Visual Studio 2005 Professional
I have not 'tinkered' with IIS,.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

How To Deploy An Assembly (CLR)?

Nov 2, 2006

Good day to ALL,

I have already setup a db to my client.

My sp's are all created using CLR.

If my sp's are changed, how do I deploy them back to my client?

I usually send them a backup of the DB during the first few implementation.

But currently, their DB now contains live data, so I can't just let them restore the backup.

Is there another way?

Thanks and more power!

How To Deploy Assembly From Remote System, Without Using VS.NET

Dec 30, 2006

Hi

 I'm developing a tool to deploy the CLR objects from any where to the server

But I'm unable to deploy from remote system to the server.

I'm getting the error like

CREATE ASSEMBLY failed because it could not open the physical file 'D:WorkingDBS2005V2GLGLREPORTSDBS.GL.RM.SQLinDebugsample.dll': 3(The system cannot find the path specified.).

when I try to deploy using

EXEC dbo.sp_executesql @statement = N' CREATE ASSEMBLY [DBS.GL.RM.SQL]

FROM ''D:WorkingDBS2005V2GLGLREPORTSDBS.GL.RM.SQLinDebugsample.dll''

WITH PERMISSION_SET = SAFE'

can anybody tell how to generate assembly_bits for assembly

the VS.NEt is generating assembly bits instead of physical path to deploy the assembly on the remote server.

as

CREATE ASSEMBLY [sample]

AUTHORIZATION [dbo]

FROM 0x4D5A90000300000004000000FFFF0000B800000000000000400000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000800000000E1FBA0E00B409CD21B8014CCD215 ..

WITH PERMISSION_SET = SAFE

But nothing is provided reg this in MSDN.

will u help me in handle this  please

Thank u

Can't Deploy Unsafe Assembly, Permission Problem(?)

Sep 19, 2007

Hello,

I think I have some kind of permission problem. But first things first:

I have code which I would like to run in SQL Server (CLR Integration). First thing is that my code uses third-party-dll. I have to deploy my code as unsafe because of

"

CREATE ASSEMBLY failed because method "add_FunctionAdd" on type "USP.Express.Pro.FunctionsCollection" in safe assembly "USP.Express.Pro.2.0" has a synchronized attribute. Explicit synchronization is not allowed in safe assemblies.
"

Of course I can not create "asymmetric key" for third-party-dll (Or can I?).

So, I tried to use trustworthy DB. But I get all the time error Msg 10327: "Assembly is not authorised for PERMISSION_SET=UNSAFE"

I am using Windows Login to log on Sql Server. Login is granted "Unsafe assembly" and DB has trustworthy setting "on".

Login has server roles "sysadmin" and "securityadmin".
Login is mapped with DB User who has same name ( DOMAINUserName ) and has default schema "dbo".
Login has DB memberships "db_owner" and "db_securityadmin".
DB user owns schemas "db_owner" and "db_securityadmin".

Am I missing something?

Interesting thing is that I can do deployment (as unsafe assembly) in master-database. But not in the other databases.

Questions are:
- Is there other way to authorise third-party-dll than using trustworthy?
- Why deployment can be done in master-database?

And finally:
- Why deployment can not be done in other database?

Cannot Deploy Reports Using Custom Assembly - Access Is Denied

Aug 10, 2007

We have a custom assembly that worked fine with SSRS 2000. Now that we have upgraded to SQL 2005 we get an "Access is denied" error when attempting to deploy reports that reference this assembly. I could swear that when we first attempted it it worked. We decided to make a minor change to the assembly code and that's when the problem started, even though I've since reverted back to the original code to make certain that the minor change wasn't the issue. The assembly is in the proper folder - C:Program FilesMicrosoft SQL ServerMSSQL.2Reporting ServicesReportServerin - and the reports are referencing the current version. I've searched high and low on the web for an answer but have found nothing even remotely helpful. All this code does is return a string...it's not doing anything that should require any additional security; and even then I doubt if there would be a problem when deploying.

The full text of the error is:
Error while loading code module: €˜Reporting, Version=1.0.2778.12272, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null€™. Details: Could not load file or assembly 'Reporting, Version=1.0.2778.12272, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null' or one of its dependencies. Access is denied.

Any ideas? Anyone? I'm at my wit's end on this!

Thanks,

Mike

Custom Assembly Behaves Differently In The Report Designer And Report Manager

Mar 18, 2008

Hello everyone,

I created a custom assembly using C# to transform some binary data into text, and in this assembly I used one win32 dll developed by our customer to help me to do the tranformation.
The code I used to call the win32 dll is like below:
[DllImport("tdasuie.dll", EntryPoint = "AlrtLogConditionToText",
ExactSpelling = false, CharSet = CharSet.Auto, SetLastError = true)]
private static extern UInt32 AlrtLogConditionToText(Byte[] pbCondition, StringBuilder pszText, UInt32 dwSize);

I defined a C# method to call the above win32 method and return a string. Then in the report, I called this C# method to get the correct string.

In the report designer, the C# method in the custom assembly can return the correct string in the preview window. But after I deployed the report into the report server, the textbox will only display "#error" in the report manager web page.

Can anybody help me on it? Thanks a lot.

Using Custom Assembly In Ssrs 2008

Mar 25, 2008

I have a custom assembly that I'm trying to use with my resport in Reporting Services in SQL Server 2008.
I keep consistently getting a "Request for the permission of type 'System.Data.SqlClient.SqlClientPermission, System.Data,Version=2.0.0.0, Culture=neutral,PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089' failed" error. Even in preview mode.

- I added <Assembly: AllowPartiallyTrustedCallers()> attribute to the assembly
- I'm asserting the permission in the routine that is doing the database call with the follwing lines:
Dim permission As SqlClient.SqlClientPermission = New SqlClient.SqlClientPermission(PermissionState.Unrestricted)
permission.Assert()
- I went in .net 2.0 Framework configuration and made the assembly fully trusted
- I added the approprtiate codegroup to the rssrvpolicy.config file
- I tried the same assembly on another PC running SQL server reporting services 2005, its working just fine.

what is it that I am missing?

Administrative Rights For Local Machine To Deploy Dynamically Created Report From Web App To Report Server

Feb 5, 2007

The current way I have my asp.net 2.0 web app running reports is, based on an
interface the user selects the criteria for a report. The .RDL file is created
dynamically based on the user's selections.
I then need to SOAP the dynamically created report to the report server and
then the report runs fine.
BUT it requires Adminstrative rights to do this. Can this be accomplished
without giving the local machine admin rights. I am sorry if this question
has been answered before but i have not been up here in a while.

Deploy A Report Model Using Report Manager

Feb 13, 2008

I have a report model that I am trying to deploy using report manager web service. A folder is created by the administrator to place all my SSRS reports. I deployed .rdl files using the "Upload file" function in "Report Manager". All the SSRS reports work fine but when I tried to upload .smdl file (report model file) using the Report Manager's "Upload file" function it gave me the following error message.

The permissions granted to user 'xxxxxxman' are insufficient for performing this operation. (rsAccessDenied)

Does this mean I only have permission to upload .rdl file but NOT .smdl file to my designated folder?

Reporting Services Login Box Appears When Trying To Deploy In SSRS 2005

Hi All,

I installed SQL Server 2005 SP2 recently. After that when I try to
deploy a solution in SSRS 2005, I get a dialog box with title:
"Reporting Services Login". It has my server listed as the first row:
"http://localhost/reportserver" and then it has two text boxes asking
for Username and Password.

I checked my IIS settings and only Integrated Security is checked for
the Reports Server folder (and for the entire website). I tried to
change that to Allow Anonymous Access = Checked, but still the same
problem.

Any ideas?

ALTER ASSEMBLY Error Msg 6509 An Error Occurred While Gathering Metadata From Assembly ‘&&<Assembly Name&&>’ With HRESULT 0x1.

Feb 22, 2008

I work with February CTP of SqlServer 2008.
I have an Assembly with several UDTs inside. Version of assembly is 1.0.*
I use CREATE ASSEMBLY statement to register this assembly, and it runs without any errors. Then I rebuild CLR solution without doing any changes in source code. In that case the only difference between new and old assemblies is version (difference in fourth part of version).
Then I try to update assembly in SqlServer. I use
ALTER ASSEMBLY <name>
FROM <path>
WITH PERMISSION_SET = UNSAFE, UNCHECKED DATA
statement for this. Statement runs with error:
Msg 6509An error occurred while gathering metadata from assembly €˜<Assembly name>€™ with HRESULT 0x1.
I found the list of condition for ALTER ASSEMBLY in MSDN:
ALTER ASSEMBLY statement cannot be used to change the following:
· The signatures of CLR functions, aggregate functions, stored procedures, and triggers in an instance of SQL Server that reference the assembly. ALTER ASSEMBLY fails when SQL Server cannot rebind .NET Framework database objects in SQL Server with the new version of the assembly.
· The signatures of methods in the assembly that are called from other assemblies.
· The list of assemblies that depend on the assembly, as referenced in the DependentList property of the assembly.
· The indexability of a method, unless there are no indexes or persisted computed columns depending on that method, either directly or indirectly.
· The FillRow method name attribute for CLR table-valued functions.
· The Accumulate and Terminate method signature for user-defined aggregates.
· System assemblies.
· Assembly ownership. Use ALTER AUTHORIZATION (Transact-SQL) instead.
Additionally, for assemblies that implement user-defined types, ALTER ASSEMBLY can be used for making only the following changes:
· Modifying public methods of the user-defined type class, as long as signatures or attributes are not changed.
· Adding new public methods.
· Modifying private methods in any way.

But I haven€™t done any changes in source code, so new version of assembly satisfies all this conditions.
What could be the reason for such behavior?
P.S. I€™ve got the same error, if I add or change any method in assembly before rebuilding.

Reporting Services :: SSRS 2008 R2 BIS Deploy Does Not Always Clear Cached Reports

Jul 19, 2011

Is there a known problem with BIS Deploy not clearing cache.  I repeatly (but not always) have an issue where I will do a BIS Deploy of an RDL but when I run it, the old report runs.  I can't clear this out until I explicitly log into the Report Manager and explicitly delete the RDL and re-deploy from the BIS.

Is there a workaround, fix, process change, configuration change I can do to keep this from happening?

Reporting Services :: Could Not Load File Or Assembly Error On Adding Custom Libraries In SSRS Reports

I have created a custom library(CodeLibrary) which internally references the dlls Microsoft.TeamFoundation.Client and Microsoft.TeamFoundation.WorkItemTracking.Client.

I added this custom Dll codelibrary.dll to my SSRS report. and the expression of one of the field as

=codelibrary.codefunction.GetValue(1000)
codefunction is the class and GetValue is the method.

When I preview the report, I get the error "Error while loading code module:

I am using VS2013, I have placed the custom library DLL in the path

C:Program FilesMicrosoft Visual Studio 12.0Common7IDEPrivateAssemblies

I have tested the custom library with a WPF application and it works fine.

I am not able to figure out what is causing this error.

Unable To Deploy Report

Jun 1, 2007

Howdy!

My first attempt to deploy a report from SQL Server Reporting Services failed and I'm not sure what to change to fix the problem.

The error message reads: "A connection could not be made to the report server http://localhost/ReportServer."

Then under Additional INformation, it reads: "Client found response content type of 'text/html; charset=utf8', but expected 'text/xml'."

I also had a problem after I configured the Reporting Services. To confirm that the ReportServer database had been created, I tried to access http://localhost/Reports from Internet Explorer. The error message I get is: "The XML page cannot be displayed" Then it says that "a name was started with an invalid character. Error processing resource 'http://localhost/reports/'. Line 1, Postition 2."

I'm assuming that the latter problem is causing the former, but I don't know what to do to correct it. Can you help me out?

Thanks!
