SSRS Past 3 Month Analysis Report Problems

Hi all,
Hopefully someone can point me in the correct direction as to how best to implement this.
I'm looking to build a report in analysis services which connects to an analysis cube. Its a simple report showing a session count value by procedure type. What i'd like to do however is to show only data for the last 3 months.
I assume that i select the measure group i want to show (in this case {Session Count}) and then the relevant dimensions ({Procedure}, {Site}, {Session Date.Calander}) I've set up a Matrix on the report itself and added the measure group and Procedure dimension. I want to be able to choose the {Site} as a parameter. The problem i am having is how to show only the data from the last 3 months, either from the current date or from a date specified as a parameter.
I hope this makes sense. Any help people can give will be most appreciated.

Hi every one,
I have a database table and currently users may retrieve records for a specified date range by providing the start and end dates and then records between those dates provided are retrieved. For example if users wanted to view all records entered in april, they would have to select 04/01/2007 as the start date and then 04/30/2007 as the end date. The records for april would then be displayed in a gridview.
How can configure my sql query such that instead the user selectes a month from a dropdownlist of 12 months. I would love a user to just select the desired month from a list instead of selecting start and end dates. Eg if they are intrested in a report for june, then they should just select june from the list instead of specifying the start and stop dates. HOW can i achieve this.

In SSRS report I have 2 parameters start date and end date, so when somebody is selecting end date more than a month(if today date is 22 then they are selecting aug 23) then it should give error message to user like "Date out of range".

Hello All
Our Collection team has a report that has an error that I'm tring to fix. The Person who created this report just hard coded the current month due as =MonthName(Month(Fields!CurrentDue.value) &" " &year((Fields!CurrentDue.Value).
For the Year 2007 it works fine. But now that the new year has started the report Current Month Due read Dec 2008, but it should be Dec 2007. I thought Of putting in some IIF statements but there has to be a easier way. Is there a function that check the past due and automatically increases the year by one. Say the bill in sent in Nov 2007 past due should be 30 days, Dec 2007. 60 Day should be Jan 2008 and so one.

I want to calculate values for one of the measures on a YTD basis, but for each month there is a "factor" that varies between 0 and 1, varies throughout the year (value for each month) and the total for the 12 months will always add up to 1. In other words, the standard YTD isnt enough. The factor or weighting rises and falls throughout the year, so this has to be taken into account.
We have a "MonthFactor" table like this
FactorName
Month1
...
Month12
Where each of the MonthN fields holds the value mentioned before. The measure in question, each record has a reference to the MonthFactor table. So its value is actually "weighted" according to the factor in the MonthFactor table. Ive seen references and mention of "Time Balancing" in various blogs etc, is this what Im describing?So, the YTD value would be a sum of each of the monthly values X the "month factor"

I have a date dimension with structure/hierarchy (year - month - wkofmonth - day) & measure count
This works fine when I insert wkofmonth in columns & count in values but when I add another measure it duplicates per week
Product CountWk1(jan) CountWk2(jan) CountWk3(jan) CountWk4(jan) SalesVolume
1 1 2 0 0 1000
Is there something I can do on the structure & do 4 calculated members pending how many weeks in a month, is there a simpler way where the next measure does not calculate by columns field.
If calculated member for each week, how do I do this, any example code?

I am trying to get the last 60 days before a month starts. I have a set that is returned from the query below :
SELECT
non empty
[Measures].[TRANSACTIONS Count] on 0,

I can get the cummulative count of last 60 days before month 2 by hardcoding the day of transaction of start of month like below :

and for subsequent months by using the dates that the following month starts. How can I achieve the above result without having to use the day numbers, I tried to use the tail function (to get the months and star date) but it wont work because the range function accepts members only...

I am writing a query to display the count of products when a month is the primary month (Month where large sales happened)..Please consider the following query..

I have three types of specific reports that i have to create with the input parameters (range) either
1: By date (rdl 1)
2.By Month (rdl 2)
3.By Year (rdl 3)
Is it possible ( or how do I ) to create just one report template ( one rdl) with the three sets of parameters ( hiding/invisible which ever two sets base on user selection) and the output of the report will display the desired type( either by year, month or date).
I ask this because its possible to create a drill down report from year down to date etc in report designer (vs 2005). Not sure if I can create one instead of three rdls and with the 'logic' built within that template.

Hi All,
I am trying to get the 1st date of the previous month in SSRS and either displaying it or using it in a variable as a calculation or as a value for a filter query based in SQL. However, when I use the SQL equivalent it does not display anything. The SQL code is as below:
- DateAdd("mm", DateDiff("mm", 0, DateAdd("mm", -1, getdate())), 0)
I know I have to substitute the getdate() with today() in SSRS. Even then it still returns no value. Does it have anything to do with the DateInterval value of DateAdd() and DateDiff()? I have changed it to 'DateInterval.month', but then it says that the month portion is not recognised. Also, is there a DateInterval.week that can be used?

Have a need to let the user select the year and month to use for filtering results from an MDX query that populates a report.I think all I should need is a list of years and a Month name / number.What would the filter look like if say I had a Date dimension that included the year number in a 4-digit and month in a 2-digit number? I am using the following expression to place the month in the heading of a column.
=MonthName(Month(DateAdd("M",-1,Now)))
The expression above gives me the previous month, but I need to have it as "Jan", not "January".

Hi,
Is anyone using Report Builder via a Report Model generated from Analysis Services in production?
From what I have seen on the Forum people have done this from books, but it is not clear as to whether they have used it at work, in production. There do appear to be reports of some problems with the integration between the two, and with performance.
The attraction of Report Builder on top of Analysis Services is that we should only need to define measures, security, etc, once in the Cube, not twice, as we would if we had to use Report Builder on top of a relational source, alongside Cubes on Analysis Services.
What I would like to find out is:
1) If there is someone who has deployed Report Builder on top of both a relational data source and Analysis Services. If so, which has been taken up best by the users?
2) How does the navigation in Report Builder work with Cubes. It seems a little bizarre in that you can only drill down, never up. Is there any way around this. Do you need to design the Cube specifically to support the Report Model? If so how?
3) The generation of the report model is easy. However, is there any way to control this, or to edit it later?
4) We have had problems with Report Models on relational sources where changes have invalidated the Report Model and all reports built on it. Can similar problems arise, for example, if you change the Cube and then Re-Generate the Report Model?
5) Are there any other issues around Report Builder. The two I have found so far seem to be Hidden Dimensions showing up, and Report Builder not working if measures are defined as non-aggregatable.
6) Are there any other end-user adhoc reporting products which work better with Analysis Services?

I am trying to calculate a measure based on parameter passed I have a liquidation rate of amount/facevalue when the dimension attribute is 'all' and i will like to the 'amount' to change based on the parameter passed and the 'facevalue' should not changed , i tried with the code below.

Im using , FORMAT_STRING="###,###.##" on the definition of a calculated member. When testing the query in SSMS, the formatting looks right, but when I run the query in SSRS it looks like its not coming over. I suppose I can apply my own formatting on the report, but im just wondering if this is by design or lack of ?

Hello what I'd like to display the following in a matrix report:
Parameter selected: 3 (March), 2008 (Year)
Monthly TO Summed up

... ... ...
So, in the rows I have the articles and in the column the selected month via parameter. In another column I need to sum up all monthly values up to the selected month, meaning in this example the sum of jan, feb and mar per article.

In my cube there are two measures which are used in different calculations.Now I'm need to show in report if there any months in data when both or even another one of the measures is not updated (value = 0 or NULL).

I have done the following and a domain user would not access report created a login to the SQL server to the user (this SQL Server is where data source DB is)went to site setting in Report Manager and made this use a system userright clicked on report folder and made this user in the browser roleeven checked that in the report in question, the user is already in the browser role Still the user would not access the report! "User .......... does not have required permission" is the error message I am getting.

I have written a report visual studio. The report has 10 multi-value parameters that pull data from their individual data sets within the reports. When running the report from within Visual Studio it renders fine. There are no errors reported, only a warning related to a pathname I have use to retrieve image data and display on the report.Deployment of the report is error free.When I view the report I briefly get the "Loading" splash window, but then nothing. None of the headers or static text is displayed. The results window is blank.
The report defaults all the parameter values. In trying to debug the issue I have found by reducing the number of parameter values the report will render. Once I have all the values added, the report does nothing.Below is the query being used for the report. The where clause in the query shows the parameters being used and the syntax.We are running on Windows Server 2008 R2 and SQL Server 2008 R2.
