I have developed some SSIS packages and scheduling them by using the SQL Server Agent.
But now I want to change all the scheduling from my web application.
is there anyone could help me this?
We manage some SSIS servers, which has only SSIS and SSIS tools installed on them and not the sql server DB.
SSIS packages and configuration files are deployed on a NAS. We run the SSIS packages through DTEXEC by logging in to the server.
We want to allow developers to run their packages on their own on the server, but at the same time we dont want to give them physical access on the server i.e we do not want to add them into RDP users list on server properties. We want them to allow running their packages remotely on the server.
One way We could think of is by using powershell remoting and we are working on that. But is there any other way or any tool already present for the same.

I have eight DTS packages. I would like to schedule all of time to run every night. Can I do this in sequence like something similar to scheduling "Job" in SQL Server Agent, when package one finish, immediately execute package two, then package three...and so on.
Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

It sounds unbelievable that I can not schedule the DTS packages I created either on my local mechine or SQL server. I have the SA permission for all SQL servers and I can run the DTS packages manually in the EM or run it on DOS command line using dtsrun utility.
The error message I got says: "Microsoft SQL-DMO (ODBC SQL State: 42000)
[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server][SQL Server] login failed for user '(null)'. Reason: not associated with a trusted Server connection.". I have the SP2 installed in all the SQL Server and my local mechine. All SQLAgents have Domain Admin permission. I just cound not figure out where that user 'null' come from.
I really appreciate that anyone can give me some hints to make the DTS scheduling work. Thanks!

My packages are migrated over our new 2005 server. How do I schedule/run them? BOL seems to suggest that we replace the dtsrun commands with the dtexec one. Am I on the right track?

We need to launch SSIS packages from within an application. As a DBA I am trying to come up with a solution that is easy to implement and will fit security best practices. Here are the possibilities that I see:
Launch dtexec via xp_cmdshell. This is the one all developers come up with first. It is not possiblebecause use of xp_cmdshell is restricted to DBAs only.
create a table into which application can insert the dtexec command. Create a job to check the table every minute and run the command via xp_cmdshell. Developers don't like this one because it is not instant.
Same as above but launch the job with sp_start_job. Not allowed because sp_start_job requires sysadmin rights.
Create a table as above but launch the packages via a service that runs on an application server. The service
checks the table and launches the packages. Fairly complex to put together and requires dtexec on the application server.
Install dtexec together with the front end and launch the packages from the client. Too expensive because dtexec requires a SQL Server license.
Create a CLR procedure that launches the package (don't know how difficult this would be and what the pros/cons are)
Does anyone have any other suggestions or comments on my assumptions?
Is there a way to control SSIS 2014 package execution schedule. I have 8 different packages that I have to schedule for this project and these packages need to be executed only when the data is available on the source for the package to grab. So the idea we are banking on is to create a Control table with package execution flag and when the flag is set to yes for a package that will be executed via SQL Server agent. How would I accomplish this?

I have a fuzzy lookup in Integration Services Packages that does not seem to run. I am pulling data from a table in sql server 2008 R2 and comparing results to data from another table in sql server (same database & instance) using a fuzzy lookup for match similarities between the data sets. When my data flow task reaches my fuzzy lookup, a DOS box pops up for a second and then my packages finishes with a message of "Finished. Cancelled". The last message in my execution results displays: "Information: Execute phase is beginning". Again, there are no excel files being processed or utilized in this package. I've tried running my packages both in 32 bit and 64 bit mode.

To which degree can SSRS integrated with application? I know that we can integrate report viewer in to internal applications. With this we can view different reports within the application. Now, Is there a way we can drive from report viewer back to the application?
For example, when we display a report within an application, is it possible to select some of the records within that viewer and send it back to the application. For example, lets say within the application we display a report to display all students in a particular class. What we see is an embedded report within the application. Now, what I want is - I will select checkboxes for some of the students within that report. and when I click delete, it should read all those selected students from that report viewer and send it back to the application which in turn will delete them from that class.
Let me know if this is not clear enough....
I have 12 packages to execute in order. I made a table in my DB where i mentioned the name of each package and his order in execution.
I want to create a master package that get the name and order from my DB table to execute all packages.
I am currently moving everything from SQL Server 2005 SP2 to SQL Server 2012. I have a method for getting users, logins, roles and SQL jobs. But I also have to get copy all of the SSIS packages from 2005 to 2012. I know I can go to the 2012 SQL Server and click on the MSDN folder and choose import. However, this only enables me to import one package at a time. I have 95 packages. Is there a way to get them all from the 2005 SQL Server to the 2012 SQL Server in one shot? I am not a SQL developer nor am I a DBA but I have been assigned this task.

At the moment I have deployed it to the SSISDB, and have set up parameters to enable it run on the right server.
I have not yet experimented with SQL Agent yet, but based on what I have read, it is not possible to do so.
What is the best way to schedule these 2 jobs to run one after the other on a periodic basis using the correct environment and variables set up?
I thought about importing one package into the other, but this creates a copy and any changes to the original will not be replicated.
Any script in ssis 2012 packages deployment and create the jobs though power shell script.

The the child packages uses parent package variables and which we are configuring using configuration file while installation of the package. Here we need to set each path while installation because there are many variables using the same path with the different file names(Different files stored in same Folder).
We want to get the main path and then if we use relative path in other variables then we need not to assign all the variable paths while installation.

I have around 500 packages (SQL 2005) deployed in file system & all this packages are running on daily basis via SQL agent. Now I need to migrated all 500 packages into SQL server 2008 R2.
There is no inventory to track which package belogs to which team and any other information.
Now, I need a method to query the pakages connection string details with database respective. Is there any method?
I have created for each container to call all the packages in a folder like below, also created a variable.
Then I add execute package task inside of foreach container and selected file system in a location and in connection called currently creating package name finally in connection properties i added variable in expression which i created and mapped into for each loop container. I referred below link

Would please any expert here give me any guidance about what Data Mining tasks can be automated and scheduled via Integration Services Packages? Also, If we automated the tasks, can we also automatically save the results of the tasks somewhere? Like if we automate assessing the accuracy of a mining model, then we wanna know the mining model accuracy later, therefore, we need to save all these results from the automated actions. Is it possible to realize this?

I have a MASTER package containing multiple packages using execute package task in SSIS.When am running this MASTER Package in Sql server agent in SSMS, am getting error as below.

This error occurs when there is cryptographic error. Verify that the correct key is available.
In dexterity iam using table_compare() function to check if tables in datasource and dictionary are same but its not picking up the primary key change but it does pick up the column change

And there are multiple packages for each load.There is a column IsChecked column if it is 1 then only the child package should execute.Created a master package. In which i have taken execute SQL task in that storing a results in variable and based on the result the child package should execute. But In executesql task i selected result set as full result set. I am getting the below error.
[Execute SQL Task] Error: Executing the query "SELECT isnull(ID ,0) AS ID FROM DataLoadParameter..." failed with the following error: "The type of the value (DBNull) being assigned to variable "User::LoadValue" differs from the current variable type (Int32). Variables may not change type during execution. Variable types are strict, except for variables of type Object.". Possible failure reasons: Problems with the query, "ResultSet" property not set correctly, parameters not set correctly, or connection not established correctly.
I am working on a package to insert and update contacts from a database into an application. To insert into application I am using script component.
So my question is can I do both insert and update script seperately in two different script components of same package.
My package looks something like this.
Can we push new inserts into one script component and updates to other script component?
Does both the script components execute at the same time?Will there be any conflicts between insert and update in the application?
