Jun 15, 2015I already tried SharePoint List Source and found some bugs in it. Ex. Duplication of records, sometimes its throw an error: A possible reason might be you are trying to retrieve too many items at a time (Batch size).
I also used SharePoint WebServices and store the records into XML file and used those files as a source to load the data into Sql Server Table.Â
Is there any other approach to pull the data from SharePoint List?
Filtering Sharepoint List Data Using Report Parameters

We are using xml to pull data from a custom sharepoint list into sql 2005. We have set a parameter that allows the user to filter the data by surname, however when the user tries to filter the list the drop down box brings up a list of every record, so there are duplicate entries for each surname.
Is there a way of filtering this so that there is only one instance of the users surname instead of it showing all the records?
Any help would be much appreciated.

Data Provider List Missing...very Odd SQL 2000

I have an interseting situation with one of my dev machines. (W2k3EE, SQL2k SP4)
All my linked servers stopped working posting this error:
Server: Msg 7302, Level 16, State 1, Line 1
Could not create an instance of OLE DB provider [enter provider name here, e.g. 'SQLOLEDB'.
So...when attempting to drop and recreate the linked server, the Provider pull down in the GUI is completely empty.
YIKES!
I'm thinking of reinstalling MDAC, but I've never seen this in 10 years of DBA'ing.
Have any of you? Any thoughts out there? Registry issues?

Oct 19, 2015I am using the SharePoint adapters from Codeplex that allow me to use SharePoint source and destination tasks in SSIS for SQL Server 2008 and SharePoint 2010. I am able to pull the data from the SQL Server and insert it into the SharePoint List.
However, I prefer to just have fresh data every time, so I'd like to add a step to delete all the items in the list before inserting the new ones. Is there a way I can configure the SharePoint SSIS destination task to clear all the items before I insert new ones?

Sep 17, 2015I am trying to create a Datazen query against a Microsoft SharePoint List. The Data View successfully returns records from the list; however, it appears that the Query String parameter is entirely ignored. I want to use the query string to grab only records with a certain status value.
So far I have attempted specifying a View and Filters:
?View={B9FF1729-AB8E-4C55-B17C-C660480334BB}&FilterField1=Status&FilterValue1=Closed&FilterField2=Request%5Fx0020%5FType&FilterValue2=Project
Just the filters:

All return the complete set of records in the list. I do not see a single example or comment online other than the claim that SharePoint List sources are supported. How I can specify a Query String value that will filter the list records?

Dec 13, 2013When I am trying to insert to data from SQL ssis package to SharePoint list people or group column I am getting below error.[SSIS.Pipeline] Error: SSIS Error Code DTS_E_PROCESSINPUTFAILED. The ProcessInput method on component "SharePoint List Destination" (25) failed with error code 0x80131500 while processing input "Component Input" (34). The identified component returned an error from the ProcessInput method. The error is specific to the component, but the error is fatal and will cause the Data Flow task to stop running.

Apr 28, 2007i would like to know whether there is anyway to load the content of a Sharepoint(2007) List from a SQL server database.
have tried as a workaround to make Access database(.acc db) as a source for the List so that when changes made to the .accdb, automatically it reflectes the sharepoint list.
so i tried to make use of ssis 2005 to dts data from SQLserver db(Source 1) to .accdb(Destn1), then from Destn1 the SPList would receive data.
the Object that accdb supports to SPList is of Sharepoint List type i am not able to DTS data from sql server to accdb.
Any suggestions wld be appreciated!!!

How To Query A Sharepoint List From SSIS
Jan 2, 2008I have been searching for a GOOD example of using SSIS to query MOSS 2007 list data. I just want to return the data from a list in Sharepoint and use that data in SSIS. It should be as simple as defining a data source to connect to a specific list and return the rows like a SQL query.
Can anyone provide a good example of doing this in SSIS (and by the way, I'm not looking for how to write a C# program) - I want to be able to do this directly from SSIS.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

1. I have created a Data Source - XML - Which is a SharePoint List

Can't Locate Microsoft OLE DB Provider For ODBC Drivers For Win Server 2003 X86

All,
Been serahcing frantically for this provider: "Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers" for Windows Server 2003 x86. However I can't seem to find it. Supposedly MDAC 2.8 has it but when I go to install MDAC 2.8, nothing happens (this is acknowledged in fact in the support area on Microsoft and the given reason is that Win2K3 Server is already MDAC 2.8-compliant. So no new stuff needs to be installed. But alas this provider isn't in my list of available drivers).
Attempts to install any part of a lesser version of MDAC that says it has it are met with "Can't do that 'cause your current version of MDAC is higher that that."
I have been searching around all day on Msoft and other sites for such a beastie but like Brigadoon vanishing in the mist, it eludes me. Msoft's main MDAC page is here:

We need to use this kind of driver apparently with a certain Crystal Reports report or else it just won't run.

I need to schedule a web service to truncate and populate SharePoint Lists (2007 & 2003) from a SQL Server 2005 table.
I guess I'm just ignorant about integrating web services with SSIS. How do I make a call to the web service through my SSIS package? (script task?)

I think this might be a good place to ask the following question.
I am writing the error handling code for my data access layer for a web application. I am using the Enterprise Library Data Access Application Block. Although this supports generic database connections, I realized that I need to handle errors specific to each database type. Microsoft SQL is the only database type I am using for now, so I am using a try...catch (SqlException e).
In testing my code, I intentionally changed the instance name in web.config to a name that does not exist. I get the very popular error 26 - Error Locating Server/Instance Specified. This is returned as a SqlException, but the SqlError.Number property is set to -1.
Am I getting "-1" because the provider hasn't actually connected to SQL yet, so it doesn't have an actual SQL error number?
Can I assume that (SqlError.Number == -1) is always a fatal, provider-level connection exception?
Will the provider ever use another SqlError.Number of its own? Or do all numbers besides -1 come from the SQL sysmessages table?.
Is there a comprehensive list of what exceptions might be raised by the SqlClient provider, including #26?
The reason for all the questions is that in a web application, I want to prevent the end-user from seeing the "real" exception if it has to do with configuration errors. However, maybe there are other errors that the user should see and handle? It's hard to know without a full list of SqlClient provider errors, along with the SqlError.Number that each error maps to.

i have recently started to work with the analysis services and i am having some problems.
i have made a web application that for now just tries to connect to an analysis server.
The server is installed on an xp sp 2 system.
for testing, i used my local computer, which is running also win xp sp2. After deploying, the application can connect to the AS server on the other machine. the problem occurs when i try to deploy the applicatuion on the production server, which is running win 2k3 server on 32 bit. When deploying, i use the same connection string, so it should try to connect to the AS server installed on a win xp sp2 system.
The first thing that came to my mind was to check the MDAC versions, be cause of the message: "Provider cannot be found. It may not be properly installed."
on my computer, where the application worked ok, the version is MDAC 2.8 SP 1 Windows XP SP 2
on the win2k3 server, the MDAC version is : MDAC 2.8 SP2.... i thought it was the version of the service pack, so o searched for the update of MDAC 2.8 SP1, trying to install mdac 2.8 sp2 to see if i was to see the same error, but i found that mdac 2.8 sp2 is only for win2k3 server, and for win xp is mdac 2.8 sp1, according to this link: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/884103
Now i got confused and have no clues how to make this work...
Can anybody give any hint?
