Some Of Reports Are Getting Errors With No Change

Hi

Some of reports stopped running all of sudden showing this error message:

An error has occurred during report processing. (rsProcessingAborted)

The Report Server Windows service 'ReportServer' is not running. The service must be running to use Report Server. (rsReportServerServiceUnavailable)

However, other reports on the same reporting server are running with no problem.

Those reports not running were ok until yesterday, I didn't make any changes, and it stopped running today. How can it happen? Any idea anyone?

Parent Package Reports Failure On Errors, But No Errors In Log

I have a parent package that calls child packages inside a For Each container. When I debug/run the parent package (from VS), I get the following error message: Warning: The Execution method succeeded, but the number of errors raised (3) reached the maximum allowed (1); resulting in failure. This occurs when the number of errors reaches the number specified in MaximumErrorCount. Change the MaximumErrorCount or fix the errors.

It appears to be failing while executing the child package. However, the logs (via the "progress" tab) for both the parent package and the child package show no errors other than the one listed above (and that shows in the parent package log). The child package appears to validate completely without error (all components are green and no error messages in the log). I turned on SSIS logging to a text file and see nothing in there either.

If I bump up the MaximumErrorCount in the parent package and in the Execute Package Task that calls the child package to 4 (to go one above the error count indicated in the message above), the whole thing executes sucessfully. I don't want to leave the Max Error Count set like this. Is there something I am missing? For example are there errors that do not get logged by default? I get some warnings, do a certain number of warnings equal an error?

Deploying Reports Using Script Errors Out!!!

Hi all,

I am trying create the script which is from net but now able to deploy reports using that script.

I am,using following script:

rs -i c:PublishReports.rss -s http://servername/Reportserver -v filePath="filePath" -v sqlServerName="SQLServerTest" -v parentFolder="target Folder"

I am getting following error:

Deployed Reports Have Javascript Errors?

Hello-

I have developed a number of reports on Win XP with VS2005. They run on our development server, which is running Windows Server 2003 32-bit. I then deploy these reports on our production server, which is running Windows Server 2003 64-bit edition.

Accessing any of the reports from Report Manager results in javascript errors, such as 'Line 41 Error: 'RSClientController' is undefined'

I get these errors also when invoking these reports through a form post.

It appears that some javascript code generated by the report server is missing. Could this be a 32-bit vs 64-bit issue? Report Manager seems to work fine; it is only when I run a report that I have this problem. This is the first time I've tried to deploy reports to this server.

Reports Using A Lot Of Data --- Errors Exporting

We have a customer that has a large report that they want to export to Excel. If I try to export the entire report, it just hangs. If I run the report in 2 batches, it exports fine.

Can you tell me if there is a patch for SSRS that is going to address this or if there is a work around that I can put in my report to handle it?

The customer is quite upset at the work around so I'd love to find a solution soon.

Security Errors Accessing Reports From Sever

First of all, following is my setup.

I have Reporting Services installed on my web server (Windows 2003) where I am hosting my website too.
While installing Reporting Services, I used my database server as SQL Server (Windows 2000, SQL Server 2000).
Now when I try to access from browser using http://servername/reports it's giving me following error: "The underlying connection was closed: Could not establish trust relationship with remote server."
Also when I try to access http://servername/reportserver/ it gives me this error: "The permissions granted to user '{servername}IUSR_{servername}' are insufficient for performing this operation. (rsAccessDenied) Get Online Help"
I have given full access to "ASPNET", as well as "IUSR_{servername}" on the folder "C:Program FilesMicrosoft SQL ServerMSSQLReporting Services"
While installing reporting services, I used SQL mode of authentication.
My goal is to have reports on internet for public view. I have "Enable Anonymous access" check box checked on IIS with user name "IUSR_{servername}"

I have looked many places for the error and while many people is having same error, everyone has different reason and different solutions.

Not sure what I am missing here...Can anybody help?

SQL Server 2014 :: BCP Reports No Errors But Inserting No Rows

I have a Job that creates .CSV files at predetermined intervals (the delimiter is a tabstop) and every 5 minutes I have to retrieve These files one at a time and Import them into the relevant database.

My solution was to create a list of the files and insert this list into a temporary table where a Cursor would extract each filename one at a time and insert that Name into a BCP Statement. The BCP Statement is constructed using dynamic SQL.

Here the Cursor:

create table #filelist(filename nvarchar(100))
insert into #filelist exec xp_cmdshell 'dir C:BCP_Test /A-D /B'
declare @filename nvarchar(100)
declare @path nvarchar(100)
declare @bcp_open nvarchar(100)

The code seems to work but although there are around 50000 lines in the .csv file, None of the lines are inserted.

Change XML/XSD Source Location - Gives Lineage Errors!

Hi,

I have developed a SSIS package on my desktop and the package involves loading of XML data into a database. The XML does not have inline schema and I generated the XSD file from SSIS.

I used Derived Column and Data Conversion to load the data into the database.

Now, i want to migrate the package to a server. Now, when i change the path of the XML and XSD files, all the tasks show error such as

"Input column 'Last_Updated' (4433) has lineage id 3586 that was not previously used in data flow...."

Why is this so? I am using the same XML/XSD files after i moved to the server.

Please advice a fix for this?

Change Reports Language

I'm using the ReportViewer to display reports in ASP.NET pages. The reports include dates that must be shown in its long format, but in spanish. Now, everything I'm working with is in english: my workstation and server OS, SQL Server 2005 and client browsers (I'm testing with IE and Firefox).
I'm using FormatDateTime() to show dates, and I tried to change the UI culture to es-MX in web.config with no success. I'm also getting short dates as mm/dd/yyyy, but I need them as dd/mm/yyyy.

Please, any ideas are welcome, and, the more the better. Tks!

How To Change Language Property On-fly In Reports?

Hi all,

I have a question regarding a Language property on Report, Table and Cell levels.
My reports must show monetary values in different formats depending on a currency symbol where the Client resides.
For instance, money fields for USA, Canada, UK are shown as 123,456,789.00 and then "$" or "�" symbol;
but European countries should have 123.456.789,00 format and a Euro symbol.

I have found that XXX.XXX.XXX,00 format corresponds to the Language property = "Italian".
If I set the Language property = "Italian" on Report or Cell level at design time, the report shows the expected 123.456.789,00 format, no problem.
(By the way, for some reason, on the Table level this property set does not work at all)

Unfortunately, I was not able to change the Language property to "Italian" on Report or Cell level on-fly using the following expression:
=IIF((Parameters!Symbol.Value="$" OR Parameters!Symbol.Value="�"),"English (United States)","Italian")
For debugging, I even tried:
=IIF((Parameters!Symbol.Value="$" OR Parameters!Symbol.Value="�"),"Italian","Italian")
But all numbers on the report are still shown in the 123,456,789.00 format regardless the Client's currency symbol.

I don't want to have 2 sets of my reports only because if the monetary format difference.
And also I don't want to CAST the monetary value into a string and mask it myself with dots and commas.

I appreciate at advance any help or comment regarding the issue very much.
This is a critical bug and it must be resolved ASAP.

Change Default Zoom Setting For Reports Viewed On Report Manager Web Site

I've tried changing the default zoom setting by editing the RSReportServer.config file to include

<Configuration>

<DeviceInfo>

<Zoom>Page Width</Zoom>
</DeviceInfo>
</Configuration>
under the

<Render>

<Extension Name = "HTML4.0" etc.
However, all reports still show up with the zoom setting at 100% on the toolbar.
I stop and restart the Report Server Service and it comes up OK so I know my XML syntax is cool. What am I doing wrong?

This is on a 2005 Report Server. Reports are built in VS2005 Report Designer and deployed to the Report Server directly. Reports are accessed via IE7 browser.

SQL Server 2008 :: How To Make Sproc Return Errors For Underlying Table Errors

I recently updated the datatype of a sproc parameter from bit to tinyint. When I executed the sproc with the updated parameters the sproc appeared to succeed and returned "1 row(s) affected" in the console. However, the update triggered by the sproc did not actually work.

The table column was a bit which only allows 0 or 1 and the sproc was passing a value of 2 so the table was rejecting this value. However, the sproc did not return an error and appeared to return success. So is there a way to configure the database or sproc to return an error message when this type of error occurs?

Would anyone take a stab at comparing Access Reports, Crystal Reports,

Reports Usage Frequency For All The Existing Reports On SSRS 2000

I have an already published application running several MS SQL Server 2000 Reporting Services report.
I need a way to find from either the reporting services log or the application server (IIS) logs or windows log
to know the frequency of each report being used.

Based on this info, the business needs to know which reports are being used and to what extend?
How can I acheive this?

I have already got the IIS logs and it did not give the required info.
I have looked into the Reporting Services logs but it does not provide the info either.

Any help is appreciated

Running SQL 05 Standard on a Vista box and I have about had it with Vista. Anytime I try to launch Config Manager I get Cannot connect to WMI provider. You do not have permission or the server is unreachable. So try I googled and tried everything I can fine from http://blogs.msdn.com/echarran/archive/2006/01/03/509061.aspx

so I try every possible different permission setting for anything sql server - problem still happening... try procmonitor.. find the registry keys and grant full contorl to all of them.. problem still happending.. run the little fixwmi.cmd I found.. problem still happening..

try to uninstall SQL Server.. NOT - WMI error - try to reinstall over--- NOT WMI error.

What do I need to do to get this working. .this is becoming a serious hinderance to my productivity!!!

what a want to know is if there s a way to log sql server errors on a log file, table, these errors are not sql server logs which already exists, i want to log dead locks, sql server timeout errors vs on sql server or somewhere.

is it possible ?

may i use sql server profiler for that purpose?
