I have conditional split on a boolean variable, when the value is true, case1 output goes to Oledb Destination, defaukt Output goes to Sql Server Destination.
When I run the package with value "true" the package runs, but when i run the package with bool value "false", the data is inserted through oledb but Sql Server destination fails.
Can any one tell me Why.

Hi, I'm getting some unexpected behaviour from my SSIS packages when targeting tables that are being referenced by Indexed Views. There's two separate issues:
1. When writing into a pair of tables with a SuperType / SubType relationship concurrently with a pair of SS destinations I'm getting deadlocks between the two. Removing the index on the view that references both of these fixes the problem.
2. Much odder, I'm getting some extremely long waits (10 times longer than the whole package should take to run!) from an SS Destination adapter even when there's no data in the flow for it to bulk insert. Again, removing the indexed views that reference the destination table fixes the problem.
The views aren't mine, and (apparently) are required by the reporting app (BO), so removing them isn't really an option. I realise that there's quite a lot of overhead to maintaining indexed views, but unfortunately, the project is on a very tight timeline, so I can't look into it in as much detail as I'd like. I was wondering if anyone's experienced any similar issues, or would have any ideas as to where to start investigating?
It€™s always said that using the SQL Server Destination adapter is much faster when loading data to a SQL Server database. My question is, if I have a SQL 2000 database, can I still use the SQL Server Destination adapter, or is it only for SQL 2005 db? Is OLE DB Destination adapter my best bet? My data files(flat files), SSIS package and destination SQL 2000 db are all in the same physical server.
I have built a custom flat file destination adapter but it appears that the code is not working. When I debug the process I notice that the ProcessInput section is called multiple times. The first time it looks like everything is working, then it call it again and there is no inpout from the DTSInput90.
Will someone please tell me how to use "Destination adapter in store procedure" .............
I'm using Sql server 2005, instead of using BCP i have to use "Sql server destination adapter" in my store procedure, Is it possible to implement destination adapter in store procs, if it is yes please let me know how

I didn't want to deal with any truncation issues so I edited the SQL created by the Import Wizard. I made the fields VARCHAR instead of NVARCHAR and changed the size from the default 50 to 250.
Now I have a triangle warning on the OLE DB Destination control. So I am wondering, is it limited to only handling 50 characters?
I am writing a custom task to import data from delimited files into SQL tables. I use the standard Flat File Source adapter, a custom transformation to add a URN column and a filename column to the data and the standard OLEDB Destination Adapter.
Most of my test data files work fine except for ones with a lot of columns (around 350 columns). I get an error when I call the ReinitializeMetaData() method for the destination adapter.
Q1) Is there a restriction on the number of columns (or data row size) that can be imported into an OLEDB Destination Adapter?
Q2) The reason I use this adapter rather than the SQL Server Destination Adapter is that I need to set the destination table name using a variable. I don't believe I can do this with the SQL Server Destination Adapter. Is this the case?
Q3) Anyone know of a better/alternative way of acheiving the above? One way I have thought of is to create a custom destination adapter using the SQL Server Destination adapter as the base but I'm not sure whether this is a) possible and b) worth the hassle.
I get an error when I try to use a SQL Server Destination. I want to use this because its performance, before I've used OLE DB Destination. The idea is that I put data from a table or SQL statement and that I put that in a table using SQL Server Destination. Now the SQL server stands on different server then where my SSIS is saved. I'm not using my windows credentials ( safety reasons ). The message I get is standing below:

I was using OLE DB DESTINATION and after going to Sql Server Destination task:

I am getting the following error on a FuzzyLookup transformation. I have 1,000 rows in the source table and 331,580 rows in the reference table. Both tables are in the same SQL2005 db on my local machine. Any ideas?

Hi I am using Oledb Provider for Db2 from IBM. (There is another one from microsoft) Through this provider I am constructing a oledb connection manager.
This connection manager I am Using in Oledb Source adapter. Now when I set Data Access mode as Table or view I Am able to preview the data.
But when I use Data Access Mode as SQL Command try to preview I get this Error
TITLE: Microsoft Visual Studio ------------------------------ Error at s_NEWMAPPING10 [EMP [1]]: An OLE DB error has occurred. Error code: 0x80040E21. ------------------------------ ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Exception from HRESULT: 0xC0202009 (Microsoft.SqlServer.DTSPipelineWrap) ------------------------------ BUTTONS: OK ------------------------------
I'm in the process of running some tests to determine which method is faster...
I created a data flow task OleDB Source -> Data Conversion -> OleDb Destination. Error outputs from the OleDB destination is sent to a flat file destination. This works great.
I'm importing millons of rows and found that using SQL Server Destination (local) is much faster than the OleDB Destination. However, I have not figured out how to output errors to a flat file destination like I did when using the OleDB destination.
Is there any way to trap errors in a flat file when using a SQL Server Destination?
Hi all, I got this scope: - SSIS and SQL server are on the same machine - myPackage run perfectly on debug mode and also via DTSexec choosing from stored package directory
My problem is when try to run the REAL job. Always got an error. ----- The import process has failed: Unable to complete the phase pre-esecuzione for component SQL Server Destination "(97). Error code returned: 0xC0202071. ----
This is a generic error and don't give me any feedback...one time is on data task A another to diffrent. SSIS pkg are compose by 34 data task...they insert into SQL server destination a RAW file source. SQL destination is the same machine of SQL server services and files are store to another machine...is a share like \BEWSSIS2007-12-18
I have try to run job with different agent (sql agent) and proxy user (same of the log-in sql server machine) where I 'm on. But always have error.
Now, I'm death point, 'cause PKG run ok into Debug and DTSexec...job is failure and all logs that I write ara vague. Some data task have big numbr of row like 95000, 625000, 53000.... But I have no one buffer error...anyway I have increase the defaultNumberOfMaxRow on the proprety for "my personal security" but no way out....
Can be a problem of buffer?? A memory problem, maybe I must use anyway DBole destination??

I hope someone has seen this one...I've got a very simple web method that returns a DataTable from my database. It worked fine until I changed this line of code:
string SqlString = @"SELECT Timestamp, Confession FROM Confessions WHERE ConfessionID = ? ORDER BY Timestamp desc";
To this line of code:
string SqlString = @"SELECT Timestamp, Confession FROM Confessions WHERE ConfessionID = ? AND CategoryID = ? ORDER BY Timestamp desc";
Here is the complete webmethod:
[WebMethod] public DataTable GetConfession (int ConfessionID, int CategoryID) {
DataTable dt = new DataTable(); dt.TableName = "XMLConfession";
string SqlString = @"SELECT Timestamp, Confession FROM Confessions WHERE ConfessionID = ? AND CategoryID = ? ORDER BY Timestamp desc";
using (OleDbConnection cn = new OleDbConnection (ConnectionString)) { using (OleDbCommand cmd = new OleDbCommand (SqlString, cn)) {
return dt; } To cause the error, all I did was add the AND statement into the query. Now I get this .NET error message every time I try to run this program:
System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapException: Server was unable to process request. ---> System.AccessViolationException: Attempted to read or write protected memory. This is often an indication that other memory is corrupt. at System.Data.Common.UnsafeNativeMethods.ICommandWithParameters.SetParameterInfo(IntPtr cParams, IntPtr[] rgParamOrdinals, tagDBPARAMBINDINFO[] rgParamBindInfo) at System.Data.OleDb.OleDbCommand.ApplyParameterBindings(ICommandWithParameters commandWithParameters, tagDBPARAMBINDINFO[] bindInfo) at System.Data.OleDb.OleDbCommand.CreateAccessor() at System.Data.OleDb.OleDbCommand.InitializeCommand(CommandBehavior behavior, Boolean throwifnotsupported) at System.Data.OleDb.OleDbCommand.ExecuteCommand(CommandBehavior behavior, Object& executeResult) at System.Data.OleDb.OleDbCommand.ExecuteReaderInternal(CommandBehavior behavior, String method) at System.Data.OleDb.OleDbCommand.ExecuteReader(CommandBehavior behavior) at System.Data.OleDb.OleDbCommand.System.Data.IDbCommand.ExecuteReader(CommandBehavior behavior) at System.Data.Common.DbDataAdapter.FillInternal(DataSet dataset, DataTable[] datatables, Int32 startRecord, Int32 maxRecords, String srcTable, IDbCommand command, CommandBehavior behavior)
I am using SQL Server Compact Edition 3.5 and C# .NET 2.0. It's worth noting that the web service does this outside of the program as well, so I don't think the problem is in the code that calls it. Also worth noting is that the query itself works fine when I substitute values in and run it in .NET Server Explorer.
But now I am getting error "General Network Error. Check your network documentation" after specifying Use existing stored procedure in TableAdpater Configuration Wizard.
ALTER PROCEDURE dbo.Insert_MailSignature( @Singnature image )
AS
SET NOCOUNT OFF;
INSERT INTO MailsSignature (Singnature) VALUES (@Singnature);
SELECT Id, Singnature FROM MailsSignature WHERE (Id = SCOPE_IDENTITY())
For testing I created a desktop application and found that the same Code, same(Use existing stored procedure in TableAdpater Configuration Wizard) and same stored procedure is working fine in inserting image into the table.
I have a SSIS package that reads data from a dump table, runs a custom script that takes date data and converts it to the correct format or nulls and formats amt fields to currency, then inserts it to a new table. The new table redirects insert errors. This process worked fine until about 3 weeks ago. I am processing just under 6 million rows, with 460,000 or so insert errors that did give error column and code.
Now, I am getting 1.5 million errors. and nothing has changed, to my knowledge. I receive the following information.
Error Code -1071607685 Error Column 0 Error Desc No status is available.
The only thing I can find for the above error code is
DTS_E_OLEDBDESTINATIONADAPTERSTATIC_UNAVAILABLE
To add to the confusion, I can not see any errors in the data written to the error table. It appears that after a certain point is reached in the processing, everything, or most records, error out.
I'm trying to create a simple Data transfermation. I have a flat file that came of a unix server.. it's 177 bytes wide.. thought it was 175, but when I created the flat file connector, I could see some extra characters on the end.
My output is going to be an excel spreadsheet, I only want two columns from the input. I created an oledb jet 4.0 connection. and followed instructions from here :
On my first attempt to dataflow, I ran into unicode errors and had to do this:

Hi, I'm storing errorcode and errorcolumn values in a separate table called errorrows, I am using the standard ssis add-on reporting package including the logging database.
When using the OLE DB destination adapter I would like to log the error message (reason). These kind of messages are OLE DB specific and won't be logged in my standard logging (error rows and package logging).
Is it possible to catch the ole DB error message so I'm able to log it?
I know how to setup the components to redirect error rows. Unfortunately, you can only redirect error rows coming through a transform. The only ones you can actually redirect going from a transform to a data destination are things like violations of a primary/foreign key. However, redirection does not work if you have a row come through a transform to a destination and the error is a constraint violation like trying to stick a null into a not null column. This simply makes the entire thing fail and shut down instead of redirecting just the row which failed.
This is the specific case. I have a really messed up inbound file. The file is pipe delimited and at least every row is the same length. I bring the file in and shove the entire file through a derived column task to explicitly calculate nulls since I can't get the convert data task to handle it and I didn't want to rewire the entire package. From there the data flows into my first conditional split where I look at the 4th column of data and split off the rows for a specific record type. These rows flow through a convert data task to do the data type conversion specific to that record type and then flow into an OLE DB destination adapter. The remaining rows flow down into a derived column transform to do some additional scrubbing for the remaining record types. From there, it flows into a conditional split to split the records out 16 ways based on the value in the 4th column, with anything not matching being dumped back to an error file for someone to look at. Each leg of the conditional split sends the row through a convert data task to convert the data to the data types specific to that given record type. I have error files setup for each of these off the convert data task which redirect any row that fails conversion. This redirects any row which doesn't convert properly. It also succeeds in redirecting any row which violates a primary or foreign key constraint. However, it does not handle those cases where the inbound file had a null when the column within the database does not allow a null. In those cases, the entire thing simply fails and then we have to grab the error and have someone page through thousands of lines of the input file to try to find the row which had a problem. What I really need to be able to do is configure the OLEDB Destination Adapter to redirect any rows which throw an error when they hit the database, unfortunately, you can't do this because a detsination adapater doesn't have any output (even though there is a place to configure errors with redirect being an option).
Does anyone have any ideas on how I can setup an error redirection to redirect ONLY those rows which are rejected, because the inbound file has a NULL where it shouldn't? Please don't tell me that I have to set something up to test every single column, because we are talking about over 2,000 columns which would need to be checked.
Good day, I'm working with SSIS on SQL Server 2005 and trying to update a table with a OLEDB Destination. The table I'm updating does not accept Null values. I've tried to update the table in several ways.
Using a "Table or view - Fast Load " Data Access Mode. I get the can't load data due to "Null values are not accepted in field xyz"
Using SQL Command text. Used the isnull function on all null fields and the "Failure inserting into the Read Only Column xyz"
I've check the properties of the table I'm writing to. I've check my user credentials.
Can any of you shed some light on what I'm missing.
I send my error output (errorcode , errorcolumn) of an Ole DB destination to another Ole DB destination. How do I know which errordescription belongs to an errorcode. For example errorcode "-1071607683"?
Hi, I am using the Execute SQL Task in SSIS. I tried to create a table CREATE TABLE newtable(ID INT, NAME nvarchar(50)) in my ACCESS database. However, it prompts me an error, saying that there is an syntax error and I need to change the INT. I do not know what is the correct data type. Can anyone give advice? thks alot.
