Statement(s) Could Not Be Prepared. Error 8180 With Mobilink Synchronization

Hello,

I am trying to get my mobilink aplication to synchronize with MS SQL Server 2000.

After getting rid of the global variable references I was using from ASA that the synchonization was failing on, it is now failing on the 8180 error.

I am not sure what it is not liking. I set the begin connection script to be blank as before it had "CREATE VARIABLE @UserID VARCHAR ( 128 )", as I found no easy way to delete the script sets with ISQL.

Microsoft says it has a hotfix for this particular error code, but I am not interested in calling their tech support line and paying to get it.


Any ideas?

Lookup Component Error: Statement(s) Could Not Be Prepared.

Hi all,


I recieve an error when I use the Lookup component in SSIS that reads:

Statement(s) could not be prepared.



I'm using a SQL 2005 DB as the source which runs into a lookup table and is use to compare records with an SQL 2000 Database. I've created connection managers successfully to both these databases. When trying to use the results of an SQL Query for the lookup to the SQL 2000 database (which is a linked server) and I try to map the columns, the error pops up and exits out of the lookup properties Window

Hi!

If I'm running a DTS with 2 connections(flat file source and SQL table destination) and a Data Driven Query Task, and then I get an error message saying "Stataments sould not be prepared. Line 2: Invalid syntax near "."

Which code should I look for the error? The message says Line 2 but i don't know where to look.

Hi,I'm running SQL Profiler on an SQL Server 2000 database. I see that onestored procedure gets repeatedly executed having a handle of '1'. Thisquery takes a long time to complete.How do I find what the text of the stored procedure is? I cant see anyhandle being created (using sp_prepare) with an id of '1' in theprofiler. ODBC Prepared Statement And Triggers

I have an application which uses ODBC to insert, update, delete records in an MSSQL DB. The application uses prepared statements and keeps the odbc statement handles to execute the same statement multiple times.
This application works fine until triggers are introduced. The triggers are pretty simple and take the inserted, updated record and insert this information into another table.
If we change the application to not re-use the prepared statement handle, by closing the statement handle after each execute, it also works fine. (However, this results in bad performance.)

The error message is: "[ODBC SQL Server Driver]Connection is busy with results for another hstmt". If anyone has any information on this, I would greatly appreciate the help!!!

Prepared Statement Vs. Management Studio

Hello Folks,

I have a problem with a prepared statement against SS2005 SP2 that I do not fully understand. I have a query that is prepared and executed from a java application that looks similar to this:

When run as a prepared statement this runs in about 27 seconds. When run under the query component of Management Studio it runs in about 1 second. Before each run I am clearing the buffers and the prepared statement cache. When running these I have looked at the execution plan from profiler and they both look the same. If I change the

WHERE big1.ID IN (SELECT ID FROM ltable WHERE LID IN(SELECT
LID FROM LAS WHERE LASID = ? ))

to INNER JOIN it runs ~1 second in both environments.

Any pointers would be welcome to explain the disrepency.

FileName is coming as blank in db, while in debug mode i can see that it is being set with a proper filename. The other 2 params are inserting fine.

The FileName field is set as Text field with width length 255, and the incoming data is always shorter than 255 chars. The insertion happens without any errors/exceptions. I have also tried replacing the data for filename with a string like "Test", still it is inserting blank string.

Please help.

24000 Invalid Cursor State. Prepared Statement

I have written a routine to search a unique record using prepared statement. Its my first sql coding with c++.

I am not using / importing any dlls.

I connect+allocs handels , then use SQLPrepare(StmtHandle, SQLStmt,SQL_NTS); to generate a guery.

I have written bind parameters and sqlexecute +sqlFetch in a loop and loop gets executed till ESC key is pressed.

First time when I bind paramaters using SQLBindParameter it works perfect.

When loop gets executed secondtime onwards, it gives an error.
SQLState: 24000 [ODBC Client Interface]Invalid cursor state.

If I open connection, handles, and prepared starement in same loop, THEN it gives correct record without 24000 error.

I want the advantage of prepared staement. So I do not want to close and open connection and prepare statement every time.

Have I missed any step?
Where & when I should code the cursor type? Any specific libraries I need to link?

MS SQL 2000 Using Mobilink Question

Hello,

I am trying to get my PDA program to work on MS SQL 2000, which I originally designed using Sybase ASA 8.

From what I have read, MS SQL 2000 does not support variables as ASA does, but functions may be able to do what I need them to do.

What I am trying to figure out is what I need to do to get it set up so that in MS SQL, there is something that will work like a session-wide variable that holds the user_id, and how to call it from scripts.

Any ideas?

Error With Web Synchronization

We have SQL2k5 SP1 as our database server. We have another box running IIS for web synchronization. We are seeing a lot of errors on the client side stating that they are unable to connect to the distributor. When we look at the event log on the IIS box we find application errors with the replisapi.dll. Below is a dump from the event log of the IIS box. Both boxes are 2003 with the currect patches and each have 4 GB RAM. Any help would be appreciated.

Synchronization Error

Hey everyone,

I have a SQL Server 2000 Publisher and a SQL Mobile 2005 Subscriber. I had to reinitialize the publication because it was set to expire and I changed it to never expire.

When I try to synchronize it through SQL Management Studio, I get the following error:

This is the initial synchronizaion (reinitalization at the subsciber). Client is using Microsoft.SQLServer.Replication objects from .net framework assemblies.

The synchronization starts normally (status is "Running"). The last message of selected session box shows (among other messages): "Beginning evaluating partial replication filters" then "Finished evaluating partial replication filters" and finally "Merge completed after processing xxx changes... etc." after a few seconds. Status changes to "Completed" and then... the merge process starts again!! "Beginning evaluating partial replication filters" etc. And this repeats about 15-20 times.

And so whole process takes about 15 minutes instead about 45 seconds to complete initial synchronization. The number of changes is "Merge completed after processing ..." never change since the first such message.

Is this some bug in web synchronization or some invalid configuration setting? Why does merge process repeat itself so many times??

Synchronization Error:The Buffer Pool Is Too Small Or There Are Too Many Open Cursors.

Hello:

I tried to synchronize the SQL 2000 database with the SQL mobile server on PDA with SQL server management studio from SQL 2005. I got the error as €œThe buffer pool is too small or there are too many open cursors. HRESULT 0x80004005 (25101) €?. The SQL database file size is 120MB.

I create the .sdf file on PDA with the following C# code:

string connString = "Data Source='Test.sdf'; max database size = 400; max buffer size = 10000;";
SqlCeEngine engine = new SqlCeEngine(connString);
engine.CreateDatabase();

I think the 400MB max database size and 10000KB max buffer size are big enough to hold that SQL database data and I have already successfully synchronized my PDA with another smaller SQL server database file. I have been kept trying and searching this for couple of days and still can not figure it out.

Moreover, the synchronization always stops at the same table.

Error: The External Metadata Column Collection Is Out Of Synchronization With The Data Source Columns

Hello,

I have a SSIS package with a Data Flow task. This task transfers the data from SQL Server 2000 to a table in SQL Server 2005.



I deployed and tested this package on the Test Server. Then put this package in a job and executed it - Works fine.



On the production server- If I execute the package through DTEXECUI, it works fine. But when I try executing it through a job- the job fails and it gives me following error:

Description: The external metadata column collection is out of synchronization with the data source columns. The "external metadata column "T_FieldName" (82)" needs to be removed from the external metadata column collection....



What I don't understand is, why are there no errors displayed when I execute the package through DTEXECUI.



Can anyone help me to resolve this issue.

I want to export a database from localhost anh import it to hosting server.  Which version of SQL database server I need to install to have the export feture? Also I would like to know which version of SQL database server can be installed on Windows XP and Vista?
I have nightmare to restore my database to the godaddy hosting envirenment because the host server does not allow to restore the database that was backup from localhost. Please help me to solve this problem.

Execution Plan Caching For Prepared Statements

I think I have a problem with the execution plan caching in context of prepared statements. Please comment and advise.

When caching a new execution plan SQL Server apparently takes into account the actual query parameters and the current situation of the SQL Server (open transactions, transaction locks, current workload and so on). That can cause the same prepared statement to be executed verry badly with other parameters.

I am having trouble with a production system where some queries more or less suddenly start running extremly bad. The reason is an execution plan which might be optimal for some cases but is in general verry bad. Forcing a recompile of execution plans either by updating statistics or running sp_recompile solves the problem for some time. But after an unpredictable time the bad execution plan is comming back. Probably the good execution plan might also be reinstalled after som time but I cannot wait for this to happen.

The factor between good and bad execution plan is about 160 and increasing (30ms vs. 5000ms).

Case Statement Error In An Insert Statement

I've looked through the forum hoping I'm not the only one with this issue but alas, I have found nothing so I'm hoping someone out there will give me some assistance.
My problem is the case statement in my Insert Statement. My overall goal is to insert records from one table to another. But I need to be able to assign a specific value to the incoming data and thought the case statement would be the best way of doing it. I must be doing something wrong but I can't seem to see it.

I have tried various versions of the case statement based on examples I have found but nothing works.

Error: SQL Server Internal Error. Text Manager Cannot Continue With Current Statement..

When my production server processing some queries suddenly the SQL Server service crashed and following error was in the error log:

SQL Server Internal Error. Text manager cannot continue with current statement.

The server is running SQL Server 2000 with SP4.

I am really concerned because this is a production sever and there are over 300 users access concurrently.

Please help me to find a solution.

Prepared SQL Plan Vs. Procedure Plan

I am working on tuning the procedure cache hit ratio for my server. We haveadded 4 Gb of memory to the server, which has helped. In addition, I have runthe DBCC FREEPROCACHE, which helped for a couple of days to get the hit ratioup to about 84% (from 68%).When I use the performance monitor on the server and look at SQL Server CacheManager:Buffer Hit Ratio, I see that the Prepared SQL Plan is around 97%, butthe Procedure Plan hit ratio is down around 55%. I've done some research ondifferent tuning techniques, but can't seem to find 1. a clear definition ofthe difference between the prepared sql plan and the procedure plan and 2.other than adding memory and running dbcc freeprocache, how can I get theprocedure plan cache raised? I believe, I just need a bit of clarification. The target setting is simple as it is: a client should connect to the our hosting server via HTTPS and update his pull subscription on demand by running .NET application.

What is  @job_login parameter here? As I understand, I will not run SQL Agent job as our client uses MS SQL Server  2005 Express. And I do not want to run it as we will provide a client with .NET application for performing synchrinization on demand
Parameter @publisher means full SQL Server instance name? For example, MYMACHINEMSSQLSERVER?
What user will be used to connect to the distributor and to the Publisher? Will it be @internet_login?
Do I need running sp_addmergepullsubscription_agent if I€™m going to use the following .NET application code to synchronize over the Internet?

What does HostName parameter use for? What is that host? Subscriber€™s machine name instance name? Or Publisher€™s? Or Distributor€™s?
Why parameters PublisherSecurityMode and DistributorSecurityMode have value SecurityMode.Integrated? How it is used in the replication model for web synchronization? As I understood from the documentation, client (Merge Agent) should connect to the Subscriber, get the changes, connect to hosting server via HTTPS and perform transactions through the SQL Server Replication Listener, thus the internet login to the IIS should be used to perform all the operations on hosting server side? The same internet login will be used to get snapshot from UNC share?
If I€™ve chosen to use FTP to provide with snapshots, should I then provide ftp parameters to sp_addmergepullsubscription_agent stored procedure or they will be used automatically by ISAPI filters on hosting server?

Hello,

I'm having to build a smart client application that works with an offline sql express database on the client. And works with several types of databases - that may be configured to work as a central server. The list includes the sql server family including 2000, 2005 and express and also IBM DB2.

I have to address some rather complex merge replication scenarios. By Merge I mean the ability to deal with handling and synchronization of bi-directional changes. More specifically changes to data may be made to any database in the system. either local or central.

I'm afraid, I cannot use sql replication in a heterogenous mode for several reasons. Some being - the database is being auto attached on the client, the application is expected to live up to the 'low impact' install ideology and should not need any major configuration etc.....

Are there any recomended approaches/Ideas one may use to acheive replication. Any links/information/ideas will be great.

Synchronization With RDA

Hi!

I'm developing a Windows Mobile solution (Pocket PC Win 5-6). I have Sql Server CE on the device and I use RDA (Remote Data Access) to pull the tables to the Sql Server CE. I use RdaTrackOption.TrackingOffWithIndexes so I can Alter the table design. Then I use the function SubmitSql to push back my changes. On the server I have a table for example Customers, it has a column called CustomerId with identity(1,1). Let's say the highest Id is 100 and the lowest is 50, when I add a record in the Sql Server CE it gets CustomerId = 1 then next one 2 etc which means identity is working but does not continue after 100. I don't need to use the CustomerId when I push my data back because I have sql syntax taking care of @@IDENTITY when inserting new records. Anyone who knows why it begins on 1 and not 101?
