Sum Of 2 Columns

I am trying to get the sum of 2 columns and I think there is a bug or something, i can not figure out what it is recovering its numbers from





All that i would like to do is add MemberCount to DependentCount and only show one row for each unique administrator and Group





The query below works for this EXCEPT it can not add properly..... well most of the time it cant....... sometimes it does....... but i cant figure out what it gets it multiplication number from, sometimes it multiplies the number by 1 sometimes 5 but it always multiplies.... BUT WHY!? nothing in this query says to (the actual query below split up the rows more than I wanted to but this was only for testing to see where it was adding if i were to remove the membercount and dependent count from grouping it will make it one row)








SELECT SUM(t_MemMemberData.MemberCount + t_MemMemberData.DependentCount) AS Members, t_MemMemberData.MemberAdministrator,


t_MemMemberData.MemberGroup, t_MemMemberData.MemberCount, t_MemMemberData.DependentCount


FROM t_MemMemberData INNER JOIN


t_MemZip ON t_MemMemberData.MemberDataZip = t_MemZip.MemZip


WHERE (t_MemZip.MemZip > 1000) AND (t_MemZip.MemZip < 1100)


GROUP BY t_MemMemberData.MemberAdministrator, t_MemMemberData.MemberGroup, t_MemMemberData.MemberCount,


t_MemMemberData.DependentCount


ORDER BY t_MemMemberData.MemberAdministrator

as you can see some add up correctly but some dont


the first on is multiplied by 13

I Cant figure this out


this has to be a bug of some sort, can any one give me a way to add these columns together?


(Column1+Column2 as Column3 doesnt work because it will not add all like administrators and groups together, unless you know a way to do that)
