Now I moved Sql Server 2005 sp1 into production, but I've got so many the following "SQL Server Assertion Failed" exception.

DBCC And Failed Assertion Errors - HELP!

Hey all -We are running SQL 2000 with ALL available service packs, etc.applied. We just built a brand new database server, which has dual2Ghz XEONs, 2GB memory, and the following disk configuration:RAID 1 array (2 disks) Operating System Windows Server 2003RAID 1 array (2 disks) Database LogsRAID 10 array (4 disks) Database DataDisks are SATA, with a 3Ware hardware RAID controller. The machineSCREAMS.We run 5 databases on this machine. 2 of these are fairly large (byour standards, anyway). The second largest database (and the busiestand most important) is consistently generating consistency errors thatbring many important queries down. These are almost ALWAYS in theform of index corruption on one single table. The corruption does notnormally occur on other tables, although it DOES happen once in awhile - rarely - on one of the other tables), nor does it EVER occuron any other databases on the server.The corruption seems to happen right in the neighborhood of midnightALMOST every day, give or take a few minutes, but does not seemdirectly associated with any of our MANY scheduled database cleanuptasks (believe me, we've tried desperately to find an associationusing SQL profiler). At midnight, our database traffic is fairly low,so it does not seem associated with a high traffic level.We are using the FULL recovery model, with log backups every 15minutes, and full backups daily at 12:15am. I am facing this prob with SSRS.
please sugges any solution.

Problem:

I have a few reports deployed on the report server.

When I click them I get the following error

The reportserver also generates SQLDumper log file and a crash dump file

The report executes fine sometime and sometime gives the error mentioned above.
The reportserver at some point in time stopped doing anything.
I tried to delete those reports created I couldn��t delete one report.
When I try to delete it takes a long time and says request timeout error.

Then I opened the web.config file of reportserver and report manager and just saved it so that the application reloads. And then it worked fine for few moments. I was also able to delete that report which was not getting deleted before. But after some time I again get the assertion failed error.

I have the same reports deployed in another server where they are working fine.
The database is SQL Server 2005 with SP2
How do it solve this problem

Run Dts Package From External App Gives Assertion Failed Dialog Box

Hello,

To quote my honorable colleague who posted some time ago in this forum "If i'd had any hair left, I'd pull it all out".

I am trying to run package from an external .NET app. The package is stored in the SQL server MSDB with protection level to 'Rely on sql server'

The package uses an environment variable for the configuration dtsconfig file.

I use manageddts to load the package from the sql server

LoadFromSqlServer

When I launch my app from the visual studio environment (in debug mode) I get this error message window:

Assertion Failed

at STrace.ReadTraceValues()

at STrace..cctor()

at ...

at ManagedHelper.GetNextManagedInfo(DTs_M...

This message window comes several times, one after the other. I have to click ignore to continue.

When i run this program from the command line , it runs without this message.

I've already put my package load in a separate function with debuggerstepthroug, but to no avail.

Assertion Failed Message Loading SSIS Package In Vb.net

I have SSIS packages created to import .xls files into sql tables. I now have vb.net code within which I am trying to execute individual packages whenever my code notices the .xls files being deposited within a network folder. When I try to run my code I get the error message:

Assertion Failed Error While Resizing A Vector In A Plug-in Algorithm

I got an Assertion failed error while resizing a vector in a plug-in algorithm.

In order to isolate the problem I created a simple model class in Navigator.h file as shown below:

I succeded making room for _vCAttStats vector, but when I tried providing room for the vectors of the vector I got an Assertion failed error (file dmhallocator.h Line:56 Expression assert(_dmhalloc._spidmmemoryallocator != NULL)). Please, see the code below, included in NAVIGATOR::GetNodeArrayProperty function:

I tried using a vector-of-vector approach and I also succeeded.

But I have to use that kind of structure: a vector of class with a vector inside.

I think I must provide a similar approach of vector-of-vector existing in DmhVector.h but I don't know how to do it.

Failed Assertion = 'm_activeSdesList.Head () == NULL' (in Combination With Error: 1203)

On our datawarehouse server we are regularly having a 1203 error, causing the sql-server to hang. We get this message in the errorlog: Failed Assertion = 'm_activeSdesList.Head () == NULL'. In the knowledgebase I found a bug description that is very lookalike to our problem.

If a lock escalation occurs while running a parallel query, it is possible to encounter error message 1203 as follows:

After a dump of the stack for all threads, the server initiates a shutdown of the SQL Server process.

We can't use the workaround, because that would shut out parallelism, which is necessary for the project.

There is a fix, but in the article Microsoft says: "A supported fix that corrects this problem is now available from Microsoft, but it has not been fully regression tested and should be applied only to systems experiencing this specific problem.".
You understan,d this is not one of my favorite type of fixes...

Does anyone have already installed the fix mentioned? Had any problems with it, or did it cause some other troubles?

Login Failed For User 'NT AUTHORITY/SYSTEM'.

Hi,
I can view the site fine on VS developlement sever, but not through IIS 7. Whenever i try to run it, i get this error: Login failed for user 'NT AUTHORITY/SYSTEM'. The problem is that i am not using this user to access my database, so i don't know where it came from. I mapped this new user to my database and changed my web.config file accordingly to see if it works, but it did not.
i have looked high and low for this, but i don't seem to find a solution that solved my problem. I am running Vista, IIS 7 and have forms security on my website.
Any suggestions will be very much appreciated.

hi guys,

i'm upgrading a web application designed in visual studio 2003 to visual studio 2005.
i want to start from the scratch.

I've restored the database from the older application in sql server 2000 from another machine.

now whenever i try to execute that application an error is displayed stating

"System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException: Login failed for user 'VASANTASPNET'."

my sql server uses windows authentication mode,and i've made changes in the connectionstring accordingly...

but still it shows this error...

can ny body help me get rid of it..?

I am having a very strange and frustrating problem with moving an application from Development to Production.
I have been working on this application on XP with VS2005 with SQL Express on my local machine. Throughout the development lifecycle I have moved it to the Server multiple times to test things and everything has been working fine until this last time.
What I have done since the last time:
Added some ASP.NET AJAX functionality
Added some views that I am having to fill a dataset from the dataset to manipulate the data before presentation.
Everything has worked fine without any issues on my local machine with my local database.
I just made backups of the databases and restored them on the server and have moved all my project files up to the server. I then installed the ASP.NET AJAX Extensions 1.0 on my 2.0 server.

NOW - The Problem:
The entire site works fine, I can read data from every table of every database, and I can also write data to all the databases. However, this one page has a GridView that I pull data from the database and fill a DataSet with the data. I then manipulate the data, adding some data from other databases and then present it to the browser.
This is working fine on my local machine, but since pushing this to the server I get an error:
System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException: Login failed for user 'ext_access'

I have checked the database and the SQL Server and the user listed above has the correct access to the database, which I would guess since everthing else is working fine. I use the same connection information throughout the app and it is stored in the web.config so I am certain nothing is wrong with my connection information. I access that information with the same code throughout the application as well so I know it is correct.
I know this may not be the most trimmed piece of SQL code, but I figured I would post it incase there is something inefficient in my SQL that could be causing this.

System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException: Login Failed For User 'NT AUTHORITYANONYMOUS LOG

I have searched all the forums on this issue and tried the other options but nothing seems to work. I have an IIS server using asp.net to connect to a SQL database on a separate server which also happens to be a domain controller(i.e. no local accounts). I have tried changing the connection string, web.config, etc. but I still can't get connected. I believe the issue is with the SQL security but I'm not sure.

IIs is set up for Integrated Windows Auth.

Backup Failed - Requested Operation Could Not Be Completed Due To File System Limitation

I got the backup failed with error 665.

We have a scheduled weekly full backup job running through maintenance plan. We are using Sql 2008r2. Our backup server is windows 2008R2. There is plenty of space in the backup server but still my database full backup failed with the following error.

Executing the query "BACKUP DATABASE [Test] TO DISK = N'C:fullbackup." failed with the following error: "Write on "C:fullbackup est_backup_2015_04_12_200003.bak" failed: 665(The requested operation could not be completed due to a file system limitation) BACKUP DATABASE is terminating abnormally.

System.Net.WebException: The Request Failed With HTTP Status 404: Object Not Found.

We did configure reporting services to use a custom security extension on a Windows 2000 sp4 machine and using IIS 5.0.

The website for reporting services is not using the default website in IIS. It uses IP address : 192.168.1.20 and host header name is rpt2.compagny.com. When accessing the report manager at http://rpt2.compagny.com/reports$sql_2005 from another machine or on the machine where reporting services is installed we get an error message.

Error Message : The attempt to connect to the report server failed. Check your connection information and that the report server is a compatible version.

The RSWebApplication.config file looks like the following :

DB Engine :: Error - Failed To Connect To IPC Port - System Cannot Find File Specified

In Management Studio i highlight my query and then click on 'Analyse query in Database Engine Advisor' but i get the following error message: "Failed to connect to an IPC Port: The system cannot find the file specified". Seems like if I reboot my computer it works one time then get the same error on the second time.I'm running developer edition with service pack 2.

Hey everyone,
I just signed up today as i am new to sql, and have a little problem i was hoping for some feedback.

I have a table called Nurse (see below). Nurse has an attribute called Exp_date which is the expiry date of their license. Their licenses have to be renewed every 2 years so i am trying to write an Assertion to check this (see below). unfortunaltey i am quite new to this and am not sure if it will work. I was wondering if anyone could let me know if it is wrong or if it will work. if it is wrong can i have some suggestions.

here is the Nurse table:

Calling VB Based SQLCLR Function Failed With Error Can't Load System.Web Assembly

I created a CLR function based on following VB code:

Either RAID or not.Surprise, I am using SATA in RAID 1.Is this a common thing with SATA? Assertion Task Or Something Like It

I am playing around trying to develop a thing in SSIS that would be like an assertion elsewhere -- e.g., test a precondition and raise an exception if the precondition isn't true. I'm posting this to see if folks have already done something like this or have suggestions how to go about it in a semi-general way that could be re-used.

My toy thingamabob right now has the goal of comparing the grand totals for a numeric field in two xml files and raising an exception if they aren't equal. I've implemented it as two XML tasks, each of which uses XSLT to compute the total and post it as a string into a variable, then a script task to convert the string variables into numbers, compare them, and take appropriate action.

I have created a web part in ASP.Net. this web part is extracting data from the sql server database and displaying it on the web part page.
This web part is working fine with asp.net application, but when i deploy it with MOSS. it is reaising security exception error like.

I have made the entry under the safe control list of web.config file. but still i am getting error any suggestion wud be highly appreciable..

We have a browser based application that is doing some updates on the database. This app was earlier built to run on SQL server 2000 and we are in the process of migrating to SQL server 2005. Until now the application was seamlessly working on the new SQL server 2005 database. I got the following error message on the web when an item was clicked on the web that triggered a set of database updated through our app server. This is first time i am seeing anything like this.

In the beginnning we thought it may be some thing in the app server or the CLR. But when I checked the process ID in the task manager it turned out to be SQL server 2005 process. the SPID was the application servers connection to the database.

This is what I got when i ran the profiler.

Stack Signature for the dump is 0x16F06946

SQL Server Assertion: File: <recbase.cpp>, line=1378
Failed Assertion = 'm_offBeginVar < m_SizeRec'.

Error: 3624, Severity: 20, State: 1.

DBCC gives me consistency errors with index id 0.

Restarting the sql server services and the error disappears but then reappears after 2-3 days.

All help is appreciated....

Restarting the sql server services and the error disappears but then reappears after 2-3 days.

SQL 2005 Sp2a Assertion Failure

Anyone else seen this specific error message before:

Environment: SQL 2005 Sp2a (3402), 64bit, clustered.

We've had 3 of these today, in a 1h20 minnute period. Apparently, this first raised it's head last friday (3 on friday, 2 on Saturday).
All the same line number. DBCC CheckDB to be run asap (getting approval as we type).

Periodic SQL Server Assertion Error

Hello,

Since we started using another sales program (1C Enterprise), SQL Server started "crashing" (connection between our program and SQL Server breaks)
with this assertion error:
Event ID: 17066
SQL Server Assertion: File: <"xrange.cpp">, line=399 Failed Assertion = '0 == pxteRangeHrow->m_pxteFetch'. This error may be timing-related. If the error persists after rerunning the statement, use DBCC CHECKDB to check the database for structural integrity, or restart the server to ensure in-memory data structures are not corrupted.

After this error DBCC CHECKDB doesn't find any priblems.

I can't find what exactly causes it, sometimes we get it only once a week, but today I got it four times in a row.

We had the same error on all versions of SQL Server 2005, SQL Server SP1, SQL Server SP1+Hot fixes, etc.

SQL Server Assertion: File: &<recbase.cpp&>, Line=1374

Checkdb reported errors against 1 index on 1 table in a database. When I try and fix the index, I get the message 'SQL Server Assertion: File: <recbase.cpp>, line=1374 (s sqldmp file is created). When I tried dropping the index and recreating, this also caused the Failed Assertion message. At this point I could not select any records from the database or copy the database to another source. Everything I tried produced the same error message. I was able to rename the table and recreate the database from another server.

After rebooting the machine, I was able to add an index to the renamed table. I can't find any information to indicate what my problem might be.

Has anyone else seen this behaviour and if so what was the resolution?

We've had 3 of these Monday, in a 1h20min period. This first raised it's head last friday (3 on friday, 2 on Saturday).
All the same line number.

We failed over, ran DBCC Checkdb no_infomsgs - reported no problems.
restarted SQL on passive node (previously active node that had erported the assertion failures)
Then we had assertion failure on new active node.
ran DBCC CHECKDB , and it also report 0 errors, 0 consistency errors.

Today (Tuesday 26th june) we've had many of these failures - in excess of 20, this morning.

As yet, we can't detect any specific issues in terms of user impact/website. Our concern is whether we are going to have data inconsistencies at some point.... and that locking , if failing, may be causing inaccurate results (depending on the specific locks that fail) - for example stock levels, causing overselling.

i am restoring newdatabase(test) with the backup from other server.
The problem is the restoring process is hanging and its not restoring the
database .when i stopped and refreshed the databases the database is not showing up
could some body Give patch for this problem
