Hello, I created a CLR - TVF that query Active Directory.
1) because system.directoryServices canot be referenced directly from the CLR Project I manually created the Assembly as UNSAFE from Management Studio by peeking up the DLL stored in Windows/Microsoft .NET/v2.0 50727 2) I referenced the Dll on my CLR project 3) deployed my CLR as Unsafe.
When I try to select my TVF I get this error: System.IO.FileLoadException: Could not load file or assembly 'System.DirectoryServices, Version=2.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b03f5f7f11d50a3a' or one of its dependencies. Assembly in host store has a different signature than assembly in GAC. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80131050)
Help!!! What I have forgot to do? Thank you Marina
Hi, I have developed a custom server control for .NET Framework 2.0. The server control has a property named BinaryData of type byte[]. I marked this property to be data bindable. Now, I have varbinary(Max) type of field in my SQL Database and I have used SQLDataSource and bound this varbinary(Max) field with the property BinaryData (byte[]) of my control. It is working fine as long as the data value is not NULL. Now, In my control, I have handled the NULL value so that no Exception is thrown. Still, when I bind this property using the SQLDataSource, I get Error "Unable to cast object of type 'System.DBNull' to type 'System.Byte[]'." I am not sure if I can do anything to stop this erro within my control. If it is not possible from the control, then what is the workaround that I can do in my ASPX page in order to stop this error ? Thanks a lot in advance.

Hi All, i am trying to host the system.messaging.dll in SQL Server. I get the usual warnings about not being fully trusted. I am prepared for MS not supporting. But, when i execute my trigger (which writes to message queue), the trigger fails with an exception of 'That assembly does not allow partially trusted callers'. So. is there no way for me to write to MSMQ using triggers? Do i have to rethink my strategy?
imports System.Messaging
Dim msmq As MessageQueue = MessageQueue.Create(".TestQueue", False)
I am using sql reporting service 2005 with .NET 2.0. I have created a custom dll file for report and put this dll in appropriate folder. Report is running fine in designer project. but when I am trying to view this report after uploading to report manager it give me an error like
Failed to load expression host assembly. Details: The type initializer for 'CableReporting.Utilities' threw an exception. (rsErrorLoadingExprHostAssembly)Is there any solution for that?
I previously had an ASP.NET 1.1 site running on my IIS 6.0 server (not the default website) with Reporting Services running in a subdirectory of that website. I recently upgraded to ASP.NET 2.0 for my website and was greeted with an error when trying to view a report. The error was very non-descript, but when I checked the server logs, it recorded the details as "It is not possible to run two different versions of ASP.NET in the same IIS process. Please use the IIS Administration Tool to reconfigure your server to run the application in a separate process."
First of all, I could not figure out where and how to do this. Secondly, I decided to try to also change the Reporting Services folders to run ASP.NET 2.0 and when I did, I was greeted with the following message when attempting to view a report:
"Failed to load expression host assembly. Details: StrongName cannot have an empty string for the assembly name."
Hi, I have a problem importing data from SQL Server 2000 'text' columns to SQL Server 2005 nvarchar(max) columns. I get the following error when encountering a transfer of any column that matches the above. The error is copied below,
Any help on this greatly appreciated...

TITLE: Connection Manager ------------------------------ Test connection failed because of an error in initializing provider. Could not load file or assembly 'System.EnterpriseServices.Wrapper.dll' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.
This happens whenever I press "Test Connection" button in the Connection Manager dialog. I'm wondering if this has something to do with the installation of the .NET Framework. I'm using a new machine and so far I havent had any problem with .NET applications. Do I need to add this assembly somewhere?
I am trying to make a mobile application work, but I get the following error. The operating system on Pocket PC is Microsoft® Windows Mobile„¢ 2003 Second Edition. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
The followings are the error and my codes:

I am trying to load a XML file into a string variable using a XML Task. The file is 67,936 KB. When I excecute the package in the dev environment I get the following error:
[XML Task] Error: An error occurred with the following error message: "Exception of type 'System.OutOfMemoryException' was thrown.".
Has anybody run into this before? In the next step I pass the XMLData string to a stored procedure which loads it into a table with a XML data type column.
I want to load historical data from an old system into a new one.Thing is, that old system stored dates as Datetime and the new one uses DateTimeOffset.
All data was collected in the same Time Zone... but with the Daylight Saving Time (DST)
The offset is either +04:00 or +05:00, based on the calendar date. To add to the complexity, the rules for DST changed a couple of years ago.
To determine the offset, I'd need to know what was or would have been the server Timezone for each historical date.
I am trying to use SQL Mobile 2005 with Visual Studio 2005. I have a simple sql mobile db i created and am trying to test connectivity to the DB in a simple app. I added the reference to the SqlServerCE and the verison # that is shown in properties is 3.0.3600.0, but when i look at the physical DLL in explorer (found at C:Program FilesMicrosoft Visual Studio 8SmartDevicesSDKSQL ServerMobilev3.0) the version # is 3.0.5206.0, so when i compile and run the test, I get :
We just upgraded our applications from VS 2005 to VS 2008 and discovered we had to convert our SQL Server CE databases. So I did that. I then included the sqlce...35.dlls in the application directory on my test computer as well as the System.Data.SqlServerCe.dll version 3.5.
When I run the app and it tries to load the System.Data.SqlServerCe.dll I get the following error: System.IO.FileLoadException: Could not load file or assembly 'System.Data.SqlServerCe, Version 3.5.0.0...or one of its dependencies. The located assembly's manifest definition does not match the assembly reference.
We have the application targeting the .NET Framework 2.0 and need to keep it that way for awhile.
I have a package which calls another package. It had been working fine for a while. Recently I changed the connection managers' names. Everything in the parent package works fine. Database has been updated correctly. But when it comes to calling the child package it generates :
OnError,CRPRCHMSQCZ,,Execute AMSClientAgentMaintenance,,,3/8/2007 5:49:38 PM,3/8/2007 5:49:38 PM,-1073602332,0x,Error 0x80070002 while preparing to load the package. The system cannot find the file specified. . (there is a period here instead of a file name)
I tested the child package on the server. It works fine. I connected the child package to the Execute Package Task by selecting from the packages on the server. So it is there for sure. Connection manager's name is read from the .dtsConfig. Child package is executed from my development machine but not on the server. I made a small test package just to call this child package, it generates the same error...
I am developing a Application using SQLCE Database & VS 2005 for Intermec CN3 PDA It is having Windows Mobile 5.0 OS and ARM920T PXA27x Processor.
I have already installed Microsoft .NET CF 2.0, Microsoft SQL Client 2.0 ( using %Program Files%Microsoft SQL Server Compact Editionv3.1SDKinwce500armv4isqlce30.wce5.armv4i.CAB file) in PDA
I could able to run the application in the development environment which is having Windows XP OS. Microsoft .NET Compact framework 2.0, SQL Server 2005 Compact edition
But when I deploy the application in the PDA thro' cab file and try to run the application I am getting the below error at run time.
Could not load type 'System.Data.Sqlserverce.sqlcecommand' from assembly System.Data.Sqlserverce, version=9.0.242.0,culture=neutral,PublickeyToken=8984...'
I have added the SQLCE.dll from the below location
%Program Files%Microsoft SQL Server Compact Editionv3.1System.Data.SqlServerCe.dll
The VB code was complied into a DLL called totalmem.dll and call following TSQL to map it into a SQL function:
create assembly totalmem from '!WORKINGDIR! otalmem.dll'
WITH PERMISSION_SET=UNSAFE
go
create function fnGetTotalMem()
returns int
as external name totalmem.SqlClrVB.GetTotalPhysicalMemory
go
When I call this function, it returned following error:
select dbo.fnGetTotalMem()
Msg 6522, Level 16, State 2, Line 0
A .NET Framework error occurred during execution of user defined routine or aggregate 'fnGetTotalMem':

Anyone knows why I'm hitting this error? I didn't reference any System.Web interface why it needs to load System.Web assembly? The same code runs OK if I compile it as a separate VB application out side of SQL Server 2005.
I am facing a issue with bulk upload on Test Server.
Issue: When running Openrowset command from SQL server other that Test Server query runs fine when trying to run the same command from Test Server it gives error.
Msg 4861, Level 16, State 1, Line 1
Cannot bulk load because the file "\ServerNameinputFileName.csv" could not be opened. Operating system error code 5(Access is denied.).
For example: If the command is run from System A connecting to SQL Server instance on Test Server Test Server it gives this error. If the same command with same rights is run from any other SQL server instance say Dev1 its running fine.
If the command is run from Test Server connecting to any SQL Server instance including Test Server it is running fine.
Tried: 1) Given the read/write rights on shared folder, to user under which the SQL server service is running on Test Server
2) Given the read/write rights on shared folder to everyone.
Query:
SELECT DISTINCT * FROM OPENROWSET
(
BULK '\ServerNameinputFileName.csv',
FORMATFILE='\ServerNameFormat.xml'
)
AS FileList
Please provide me with some solution. What can be the reason for such behaviour?
Hi people,I have a little problem with this!There are some variables in C# code: int personID = 10; string personName = "Tom";
System.IO.BinaryReader reader = new System.IO.BinaryReader(FileUploadPersonPhoto.PostedFile.InputStream);
byte[] personPhoto = reader.ReadBytes(FileUploadPersonPhoto.PostedFile.ContentLength); After that, there is a SQL query: string query = "INSERT INTO PersonTable (PersonID, PersonName, PersonPhoto) VALUES ("
+ personID + ", '" + personName + "', " + personPhoto + ")"; In Debug mode, value of the query is "INSERT INTO PersonTable (PersonID, PersonName, PersonPhoto) VALUES (10, 'Tom', System.Byte[])" and it does not work! Is there any prefix or something else that I should put and make it work?Thank you in advance!P.S. Do not want to use sql parameters at this piont!
I have a binary column with length 20 in SQL server table. I store dynamically C# byte[] value range from 0 to 19. So for example, If I store length of 16 and when I try to retrive it back into byte [] in C# it returns whole length 20. When I see in debug it has value from 0 to 15 which I want to use but from 16 to 19 is zero. How can I get just length value which I stored.
I use DataRow to get whole row and from the row object I extract byte [] based on column name.
I need some help working with CLR UDTs. I have created two UDTs called trajectory and point. Each trajectory consists of a list of points. Each point consists of three members : lon( type double), lat( type double) and datetime.
I have written my own IBinarySerialize.Write method for the trajectory type which is the following:
Dim maxSize As Integer = 4000 Dim value As String = "" Dim paddedvalue As String
Dim i As Integer Dim pt As Point
For i = 0 To point_list.Count - 1
pt = point_list.Item(i)
If i = 0 Then value = value & pt.X & "|" & pt.Y & "|" & pt.D
Else
value = value & ">" & pt.X & "|" & pt.Y & "|" & pt.D End If
I have a bigint column called "MillisecondsSince1970" that I need to convert to a date - SSIS is erroring out when I use DATEADD with the 8 byte int (if I use 4 byte it works but the column is bigger than 4 byte). The error is really lame:
[Derived Column [79]] Error: The "component "Derived Column" (79)" failed because error code 0xC0049067 occurred, and the error row disposition on "output column "Date" (100)" specifies failure on error. An error occurred on the specified object of the specified component.
Anyone have a way around it... a VB.NET equivalent of DATEADD or something else I can do?
Can we regenerate a .rdl file based on the byte[] stream created by Render method?
user sends the report name with parameters to application server and it is application server sends the request to Reporting Server and get the report back (Render method). But how to pass the returned byte[] stream to user and show her/him a report?
I have followed many examples found on this site, but still get an invalid cast execption when I attempt to run code below. the exception is thrown when I try to convert the sql image to a byte[] in the download section of the code.
//upload file private void Button1_Click(object sender, System.EventArgs e) { //Get the filename of the pdf file to be uploaded. string strFilename = File1.PostedFile.FileName.Substring(File1.PostedFile.FileName.LastIndexOf("\") +1);
//Get the file type string strFileType = File1.PostedFile.ContentType;
//Get the file size int intImageSize = File1.PostedFile.ContentLength;
// Reads the Image Stream ImageStream = File1.PostedFile.InputStream;
byte[] ImageContent = new byte[intImageSize + 1]; int intStatus = 0; intStatus = ImageStream.Read(ImageContent, 0, intImageSize);
i have trouble while insert/update a field which contains double-byte characters (Chinese Traditional).
NO PROBLEM if i m using Enterprise Manager to view/edit the data. They are retrieved properly in the following: (1) Enterprise Manager (2) Query Analyzer (3) Visual Basic (4) Command prompt isql
EACH of the Chinese words are become a qustion mark '?' if the UPDATE SQL or stored procedure executed in the following: (2) Query Analyzer (3) Visual Basic
WHILE (4) Command prompt isql does not have the problem for the same UPDATE SQL and stored procedure.
I want to store some double byte characters in a table. Originally I planed to change all data type of fields which will store double bytes from VARCHAR() to NVARCHAR(). But i just found out we have no problem to pull and store foreign content(double byte characters) in fields with VARCHAR type( the content is showing correct after stored in database)
my question is : if VARCHAR can handle double byte character, what's the point of using NVARCHAR to store unicode character? any advice is appreciated.
Just wondering if anyone knows if you can create a certificate from a byte[]. For example, you can create an assembly using CREATE ASSEMBLY FROM 0x...; specifying the hex representation of it - can you do the same with a certificate? This means that you don't need to save the file to disk before loading it into the database.
Here I will describe my problem. 1. We are loading large amount of data from database on background thread which is starting on Application_start event in global.aspx.cs file.The data is later cached for subsquent request to improve the performance. 2. Now when we put the application on web farm garden, it is not able to load the application. 3. We are sending the request the servers through Router kind of application. 4 This application is working fine on single server enviornment.
Hello, I'm having users upload documents to my db and storing them as an Image datatype, I can do that without an issue. I'm also able to find that record and return it as a byte(). Now, what's the best practice/scheme to return it to the browser, even FF, and have it prompt the user with the Open or Download thing Dialogue we all know and love.
I've created a DTS package -- that uses a query to export to a .txt file. My question is -- if the results of this query are zero (no results returned within the package ) -- how can I tell the package not to export a zero byte file. Any thoughts on that? Any help you could give would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
i'm trying to read an image file from a database(ms-sql, .mdf) with type image. Anyone have any ideas on how to do this? I have a table adapter created but could not assign it to my byte[] variable. Thanks in advance.
