it was simple to parse simple variables using replace functions. eg. REPLACE(@str, '@customer_name', @customer_name). It worked like mail merge.the converted string was then sent forward using a webservice.now my requirement is to add conditional values in body field e.g:
body = Document ID: @document_id Customer Name: @customer_name Item name: @item_name Quantity: @qty IF isnull(@rate, 0) > 0 Rate: @rate IF isnull(@rate, 0) > 0 Amount: @amount
how can i parse strings like this. I'm open to change format of values for body field.
I'm sure I am not undestanding some basic concept here but the following formula always produces an invalid token error at the '-' sign. In this example, I'm trying to subtract out a specific month from the total (this is a simplified example, my actual formula needs to compute a % change over time using lag...)
This produces the invalid token error (it always errors at the '-' in the equation)
with member [Measures].[MyCalcMeasure] as [Measures].[MyBaseMeasure]-([Date Submitted].[Date Submitted YQMD].[month].&[2008]&[1],[Measures].[MyBaseMeasure]) select [Measures].[MyCalcMeasure] on columns, [MyDim].[MyHierarchy].[Level1].members on rows from MyCube
But this works
with member [Measures].[MyCalcMeasure] as [Measures].[MyBaseMeasure] select [Measures].[MyCalcMeasure] on columns, [MyDim].[MyHierarchy].[Level1].members on rows from MyCube
As does this
with member [Measures].[MyCalcMeasure] as ([Date Submitted].[Date Submitted YQMD].[month].&[2008]&[1],[Measures].[MyBaseMeasure]) select [Measures].[MyCalcMeasure] on columns, [MyDim].[MyHierarchy].[Level1].members on rows from MyCube
Does anyone else have this error message pop up in SSMS when you try to parse sql statements:
.Net SqlClient Data Provider: Msg 0, Level 11, State 0, Line 0
A severe error occurred on the current command. The results, if any, should be discarded.
There was a thread back in March 2006 that mentioned this error, but the posted resolution was to install SP1. I have SP1 installed but I still get the error.
I only receive the error when I'm parsing statements, if I run the statement it's fine.

I'm trying to insert some values into an SQL Compact database on a WM6 device but there is something apparently wrong with my SQL statement...
The program is going to allow users to schedule an SMS message to be sent at a certain date and time. I'm using a database to keep track of the scheduled SMS messages. The database has 3 rows: phone number, message, and the date/time to be sent.
I'm guessing it doesn't like how I am trying to get the data from the different text boxes and the DateTimePicker to go inside the SQL command. Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix my SQL command or how to get data from a textbox and DateTimePicker to be inserted into a database a different way?
I believe that I mistakenly attempted to apply the Analysis Services component of this update before applying the SQL Server component. The update now fails continuously with the following message:

The update fails although I have cleaned the registry of any reference to it. Another article indicated that the hotfix may delete registry keys required, for instance, to operated SSIS if applied in the wrong order. Here, it appears to be preventing the hotfix from being reapplied. I have ensured that all necessary permissions are available and the services are running in domain user accounts with the necessary rights. I'm the administrator on the machine.
Is there a way to get this hotfix applied without having to completely rip and rebuild my server instance?
I am working with a large amount of text data in a single column. I am in the process of pumping that column of data into a delimited text file. The data in the column has new line characters that I need to remove. I need to data to be in a single line in the text file.
So far the things that I have tried are not working. What I try for removing the new line characters?
I have 2 tables ... order table (shipping city and destination city) and a referential city table:
1:New York 2:Chicago 3:Atlanta etc...
In the order table the shipping address and destination address have the identity's a values, I want to write a join to show the names of the cities instead. I'm doing something like this, is there a way to do it in one select?
;with srcemkt as ( select ID, OrderNumber, b.MarketCenterCity as 'SourceMKT', from Orders as a join MarketCity as b
I want to import a huge .csv file in my sql server database.
There are about 10000 rows and 30 columns
My file looks like this: Attributname1; Attributname2; Attributname3; ... data; data; data;... data; data; data;... data; data; data;...
Now my idea is to do this on the command line/batch script. I have found different ways to do this job but the problem is i have to create a table in the database first. The entries in the first line of the csv file are the attribute names.
After creating the table with attributes i must write the data in the database.
--------------------------------------------------------------- My Original Post I have to query n table(NLRImports) using the Distinct keyword, to retrieve a set of ID numbers. ( "Select DISTINCT id_nbr from NLRImport" ).
Now i want to use those values i retrieved, to process the records in the table(NLRImports) 1 by 1. How do i use those ID no's i retrieved as Variables or parameters for my next query?? If this makes sense? ----------------------------------------------------------------
First, thanks for the response.... now here is what im trying to do. I created a simple application in delphi to import information to a table in MSSql2005. This is some of the resulting columns...
Now there will be several entries with the same id no but on different dates, so i take it dates would rather be my pkey.
Then i need to take one person's entries(i work on id_nbr) and go thru all the entries taking the earliest date and comparing all the other entries for that person to the first date and select all the dates more than 19 days after the first date and less than 91 days from first date and place it in a new table. I used cursor s and while loops to kind of get it going but i know that cursors are not really recommended use but the performance implications dont bother with this particular job.
What other ways should i be using to accomplish this?
I've already created a table and i wanna to insert values in that more than five hundred row ,that values are stored in Excel files, Here I've the doubt is it possible to insert values from excel sheet? I've current data base of ms sql 2000, if it is possible means, how to insert values using query?
I routinely need to import data into SQL DB from Access 2010.I've tried using both Openrowset and Opendatasource, and I'm receiving similar errors.
Here's my code I'm trying:
SELECT * FROM OpenRowset('Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0','C:ITS DatabaseCHI_ITS_v2013a.accdb';'admin';'',Sheet2)
Here's the error message I'm receiving:
Msg 7308, Level 16, State 1, Line 1 OLE DB provider 'Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0' cannot be used for distributed queries because the provider is configured to run in single-threaded apartment mode.
I need to build TSQL query to return the Last unit Cost from my table of movement of goods SL (on CTE) but the MAX(Datalc) must be Less or Equal to my HeaderInvoice.
This is my script:
With MaxDates as ( SELECT ref, MAX(epcpond)[Unitcostprice], MAX(datalc) MaxDate FROM sl
[code]....
the problem I have right now is that the Unitcostprice of my table of goods movements has a top date greather than the date of my bill.
Example:
invoice date : 29.01.2015 unitcost on invoice line = 13,599722 Maxdate (CTE) : 19.03.2015 unitCost from my table of movement of goods = 14,075
That ´s not correct because the MAxdates > invoice date and the unitCost of 14,075 is the cost on 19.03.2015 and not just before my invoice date.
I need to import data to a MSSql table from massive (read: a million and a half rows, every single day) logs that come in .txt format separated in tabs with a ";" symbol and then have some stored procedures analyze that data to generate some reports in an excel file with that info. The text files include the column headers in the first row and the data starts on the second one.
The challenge is that the text files differ in column order and count every single day.
The analysis that I need to do only needs about 15 columns from the nearly 90-120 that those files include, and those columns sadly happen to be in a different order in those files.
I'm trying to find a way to import data from this data xml feed to get daily exchange rate. I' tried:
select * from openrowset(bulk 'http://www.bankofcanada.ca/stats/assets/xml/fx-noon.xml',single_blob) as x
Which is a feeble attempt at a start; however, am getting this error message:
Cannot bulk load because the file "http://www.bankofcanada.ca/stats/assets/xml/fx-noon.xml" could not be opened. Operating system error code 123(The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect.).
Hi, for some AP issue, the file I upload must be without the line feed/carriage return in the last line. for example:
original fixed-length file (exported from SSIS) line NO DATA 1 AA123456 50 60 2 BB123456 30 40 3 CC123456 80 90 4 <-- with line feed/carriage return in the last line
The file format that AP request. The file only has 3 records, so it should end in the third line. line NO DATA 1 AA123456 50 60 2 BB123456 30 40 3 CC123456 80 90
Should I use script component to do it ? I am new for VB . Anyone would help me ?
I need the Trend line for the following data in Line chart they are the following data. The following are the graph are my output and i need the trend line for these Key_gap value.
This is the link [URL] ....
I need the same trend line for the Bar-Chart in SSRS 2005.
I hope I'm posting this in the correct forum (forgive me if I'm not) since I'm not sure if this is an issue with inserting an item into a db or the processing of what I get out of it. I wrote a basic commenting system in which someone my post a comment about something written on the site. I wanted to keep it very simple, but I at least want the ability for a user to have newlines in their comment without having to hardcode a <br /> or something like that. Is there a way for me to detect a newline if someone, for example, is going to their next paragraph? Let me know if you need a better explanation. Thanks in advance!
G'day everyoneThat's a space between the ticks. It's all part of a longer script but seeing as the failure occurs online 1if exists (select * from dbo.sysobjects where id =object_id(N'[dbo].[config]') and OBJECTPROPERTY(id, N'IsUserTable') =1)drop table [dbo].[config]GOThat's three lines only. Does it matter that they're in Unicode?Any ideas?Kind regards,Bruce M. AxtensSoftware EngineerStrapper Technologies
We have a line graph which plots the actual data points (x,y), everything is working fine with this graph. Now we need to add a trend line to this existing graph after going thro. the articles we came to know that there is no direct option in SSRS to draw a trend line. So we need to calculate the trend values ourselves which we need to plot as atrend line. This trend line is similar to the trend line which comes in Excel chart, do anyone know how to calculate the trend values from the actual data points. We got through several formulas, but were not clear, have anyone tried out exactly the same, if so please help us out by providing an example to calculate the trend values.
I have a line graph which shows positive and negative values. Is it possible to have the line one color when its negative and another when its positive?
Hi If i use this code i cant get the data showed, it show nothing."SELECT COUNT(DogImageDate) AS Amount, DogImageDate, DogImageID FROM EnggaardImages WHERE DogImageDate NOT LIKE (SELECT TOP 1 DogImageDate FROM EnggaardImages ORDER BY DogImageDate DESC;) GROUP BY DogImageDate ORDER BY DogImageDate DESC;" But if i use this code i get data showed"SELECT COUNT(DogImageDate) AS Amount, DogImageDate, DogImageID FROM EnggaardImages GROUP BY DogImageDate ORDER BY DogImageDate DESC;" Then i get Images(6)Images(1)Images(1) But i dont want the first to be showed, therefor i use the Select TOP 1, so i get a look like this Images(1)Images(1) But i cant get it to work.
Alright so here is what I am trying to do. I have a form that someone fills out it has a text box as title, and a drop down box that is a category, and then a text area that is for their explanation. On the back end I am using a stored procedure called sp_store_bkm. When I execute this it works just fine and puts the data that I put in it into the to table below is the Stored procedure code: ALTER PROCEDURE sp_store_bkm @oID nvarchar OUTPUT, @oTitle nvarchar(50), @oCategory nvarchar(50), @obkmtext nvarchar(MAX) AS BEGIN INSERT INTO tbl_bkms(Title, Category, bkmtext) VALUES(@oTitle, @oCategory, @obkmtext)Set @oID= SCOPE_IDENTITY() END
Now on my front end it comes up with an error in the lower left (erros on page). When I click on the error for details it seems like it is coming fromt he connection string. I cant find anything wrong with the connection string. Below is my code for the aspx page. <%@ Page Language="VB" MasterPageFile="~/MasterPage.master" Title="Untitled Page" %><asp:Content ID="Content1" ContentPlaceHolderID="ContentPlaceHolder1" Runat="Server"> <script> function Submit2_onclick() { Dim Connection As SqlConnection = "server=localhost;Database=BKM.mdf;integrated security=SSPI;" connection.Open() Try Dim command As SqlCommand = New SqlCommand("sp_store_bkm", connection) command.CommandType = CommandType.StoredProcedure Dim oID As New SqlParameter("@oID", SqlDbType.Int) oID.Direction = ParameterDirection.Output command.Parameters.Add(oID) command.Parameters.Add("@oTitle", title.text) command.Parameters.Add("@oCategory", category.text) command.Parameters.Add("@obkmtext", bkmtext.text) command.ExecuteNonQuery() Dim sOrderID As String = oID.Value }</script> <form method="post"> <table cellpadding="10" style="width: 100%"> <tr> <td style="width: 100px"> <span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: Verdana"> Login ID: <br /> </span> <asp:LoginName ID="LoginName1" runat="server" Font-Names="Verdana" Font-Size="10pt" ForeColor="Red" /> <span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: Verdana"> <br /> <br /> Title:<br /> </span> <input id="title" style="width: 374px" type="text" /><br /> <br /> <span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: Verdana"> Category:<br /> </span> <select id="Category" name="D1" size="1" language="javascript" onclick="return Select1_onclick()"> <option selected="selected">Office Applications</option> <option>VPN</option> <option>WLAN</option> </select> <br /> <span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: Verdana"> <br /> Your BKM<br /> </span> <textarea id="bkmtext" style="width: 378px; height: 196px"></textarea><br /> <br /> <input id="Reset1" type="reset" value="reset" /> <input id="Submit2" type="submit" value="submit" language="javascript" onclick="return Submit2_onclick()" /></td> </tr> </table> </form></asp:Content>
