Table '?' Could Not Be Loaded. Column '?' Does Not Exist

Hi,
I am getting message while modifying one table in SSMS like "Table '?' could not be loaded. Column '?' does not exist" . Howevery particular column exist in table and even i am able to modify it with T-SQL.
I am trying to pull a min value of a date column from table 1, if table 1 does not have any record I need pull a date column from table 2. Table 2 will always have a unique record ID (No duplicate ID's).
Table 1
ID date 1 1/1/2014 1 1/5/2014
Table 2
ID date 1 1/5/2014 2 10/15/2014
Here is the desired result when running for ID = 1 (select Min(date) where ID = 1, I should be getting 1/1/2014 from Table 1.
If I am running the same query where ID=2 then I should be getting 10/15/2014 from Table 2. So basically I need to check if a value exists on Table 1 first, if there is no value on Table 1 and then to grab the value from Table 2.

Thesource file is already sorted by primary key order.After the DTS load, the default retrieval order on the target table (select* from targettable) appears to be random. I know that theoretically theretrieval order from a SELECT statement isn't guaranteed, but this is thefirst time that I've actually had a default retrieval not follow theprimary key order in the table. I'm thinking that what we're seeing is thephysical storage order of the rows in the table, which have been somewhatscrambled by the way that DTS loads a text file (probably some I/Ooptimization).Is there any way that we can get DTS to load the table in the order thatthe rows appear in the text file (assuming that's what our problem is)?The Project Lead really doesn't like the fact that the default retrievalorder isn't following the primary key.Regards,Lyle H. In my SSIS package I have flat files as a source, I have to load numbers of flat files into SQL target table. I am using For each loop container for that. I am doing it correctly. My aim is to validate the source data from all angle before writing it into target sql table. I am using below points to validate the source data , if I found any bad data I am redirecting those data to error output.
To Checking
1. To check whether data type of column. 2. To check whether buisinesskey column null.
Is there any thing which I am missing to validate source data.

I'm importing a csv file into a SQL 2005 table and would like to add 2 columns that exist in the table but not in the csv file. I need these 2 columns to contain the current month and year (columns are named CM and CY respectively). How do I go about adding this data to each row during the transformation? A derived column task? Script task? None of these seem to be able to do this for me.
Here's a portion of the transformation script I was using to accomplish this when we were using SQL 2000 DTS jobs:

I am using a SQL command in ASP.NET to send a query to a an OLAP cube that returns a dynamic set of data that I load into a datatable and then bind to a GridView. I have made my own ITemplate implementaton for displaying and formatting the data, and the following line is causing me problems: RawValue = DataBinder.Eval(row.DataItem, "[Month].[Month].[MEMBER_CAPTION]") The error returned is: Month is neither a DataColumn nor a DataRelation for table My guess as to what is happening is that it sees the brackets in the field name and stops reading the field name at [Month], when the actual field name is much longer. I know that it knows about the column name because it displays it correctly in the header. Since I am loading this from an OLAP cube the names of my columns vary based on the criteria so I cannot alias the column because I don't know exactly which columns will be displayed. Does anyone know how I might get the DataBinder.Eval function to work with fields that contain square brackets [ and ] ? If I use the GridView's "auto-generate fields" option it will show the data (and this is the column name) but I lose all control over formatting and the other custom code I'm writing in my ITemplate interface. I have a script that loops through a series of tables to send data to a table from each of the tables. My issue is that not all tables have the columns I need in them. What I would like is to replace the column with another column when it does not exist. Something like below
Select Misisng_Column(A.Name, replace with B.Name) as Name FROM SomeTable A Cross Join (Select Name FROM AnotherTable) B
AnotherTable has one record in it. To avoid a Cartesian issue. Like I said just an example
In my real script the table aliased as A is from a list of tables in a sys.tables query that loops through to the end.
I am using SQL Server 2005 and trying to create a linked server on Oracle 10. When I execute select * from test1...COUNTRY I get the error. "The OLE DB provider "MSDAORA" for linked server "...." does not contain the table "COUNTRY". The table either does not exist or the current user does not have permissions on that table." The 'sp' user I am connecting is the owner of the table. What could be the problem ? Thanks a lot.
I'm inserting from TempAccrual to VacationAccrual . It works nicely, however if I run this script again it will insert the same values again in VacationAccrual. How do I block that? IF there is a small change in one of the column in TempAccrual then allow insert. Here is my query

Do you know of some SQL that I can test a table to see if a column exists or not inside a stored procedure?
What I have is a table that contains data for a 10 year history. I asked at the time and was told at the beginning of every new year the table would create 2 new columns so I dynamically set up some of my stored procedure to provide for that….well as of Jan 22 they have not updated them so I have 2 options:
1) hard code the first year in there and change it when they tell us
2) test for the field if it is there start the countdown to grab the rest of the historic info….if not check for the next year until it finds the field in the DB.
I want to make a query, stored procedure, or whatever which will only display the primary key where there does no exist a foreign key in linked table.For example. If I had two tables with a one to many relationship.A [Computer] has one or more [Hard Drives]. I want to select only those computers which do not have a Hard Drive(s) associated with them. That is, show all computers where the Computer_ID field in the [Hard Drives] table does not exist. This seems simple but I'm drawing a blank here.
I have table 'stores' that has 3 columns (storeid, article, doc), I have a second table 'allstores' that has 3 columns(storeid(always 'ALL'), article, doc). The stores table's storeid column will have a stores id, then will have multiple articles, and docs. The 'allstores' table will have 'all' in the store for every article and doc combination. This table is like the master lookup table for all possible article and doc combinations. The 'stores' table will have the actual article and doc per storeid.
What I am wanting to pull is all article, doc combinations that exist in the 'allstores' table, but do not exist in the 'stores' table, per storeid. So if the article/doc combination exists in the 'allstores' table and in the 'stores' table for storeid of 50 does not use that combination, but store 51 does, I want the output of storeid 50, and what combination does not exist for that storeid. I will try this example:

So I want the query to pull the one from 'allstores' that does not exist in 'stores' which in this case would the 3rd record "ALL 0011 001".
I'm setting up replication for reporting purposes to another SQL-server. When I start the distribution agent I get the following error: Column name '<here's the name of a column I didn't publish and don't need to replicate>' does not exist in the target table. Error number: 1911
I assume this is because of some dependencies between the columns.
Is there any way I can replicate without those columns?
I need a SSIS Package that compares the two tables and removes the rows in the first table with keys that do not exist in the second table. For example....
I have a table of returns based on returnID. In another table I have returnErrors that are based on returnID as well. I want a package that will uses my returns table as a source and compares that dataset to the dataset of the returnError and remove or spilt the data so that my remaining dataset only has returns that have returnErrors. I can do this in T-SQL, but I am looking for a SSIS solution that uses the conditional split transformation or some other transformation(s) combinations.
hi i am running this program and its giving some problem while execution. When the program tries to create the table expt1..its says Msg 2714, Level 16, State 1 There is already an object named 'expt1' in the database.
and if i try to drop the table expt1 it says Msg 3701, Level 11, State 1 Cannot drop the table 'expt1', because it doesn't exist in the system catalogs.
How should I resolve this problem...? ==========================

I have an appplication which creates triggers on tables. It works on nearly every table I have in my repository except for one. When I attempt to apply it to that one, I get the following:
"The object TABLENAME does not exist or is invalid for this operation."
I know the table exists and am able to access data in it just fine. So what are all possible reasons why CREATE TRIGGER might be an invalid operation for it?
I have 1 table to be merge replicated to 2 other servers (DATA5 and DATA5R). Whichever server I push a subscription to first works just fine. The second server get the following error.

I'm not sure why it expect the table to be there already. It doesn't on the first server. Am I missing something. If I create the substription for DATA5R first then it works and DATA5 fails.
I have a table of row IDs, order numbers, and status. Status is a value of 1 or 2. Some rows only exist as a 1, some only as a 2, and some exist twice -- once as 1 and once as 2. I want to select orders that are 2 as well as rows that are 1 but do not also exist in the table as 2. Ultimately I will only see each order number once. Is there a better/faster way than doing multiple selects and comparing them to each other?
i need to write a query that insert in A table if and only if the row does not exist already in the table (the source is a select statement). i tried the following:

table [A] is still empty, but it does not insert any thing! .. what i know is that the EXIST checks if the selected row exists in the subquery, ain't ?

i'm a newbie in SSIS. i created a package to transfer data from one table to another. before the data flow, i added a Execute SQL Task package that truncate the dest table if it exists and create a new one if it doesn't.
i'll encounter an error (invalid object name) when i run the whole package but no error if i execute the tasks 1 by 1.
I have a stored procedure that I am writing that is giving me trouble dropping a temp table in SQL Server 2005. I have to use the SQL in Query 1, marked below, to get the temp table. I can find the table but I get the error listed in this message's subject. If I try to run DROP TABLE #ZipLatLong I will get an error telling me that the table already exists but then I can run CREATE TABLE #ZipLatLong ( ZIP INT, Latitude DECIMAL(18,6), Longitude DECIMAL(18,6)) and that will work...
In short, SQL Server 2005 is not letting me drop temporary objects. I am getting return messages telling me that an object already exists in the database by the name I am trying to delete and then it will let me create a table with the same name...

I have a SQL2000 database that I need to copy tables from to my SQL2005 database. The table in the 2000 database are owned by a login named tsreader. This login is also in the dbo database role. So, when I access tables I have to prefix tha table name with tsreader. Currently in a SQL2000 database I have DTS packages that pull data over from this database everynight and they work fine. However when I try to do this from SSIS, I get the error "Object does not exist". My assumption is that it is trying to access the database tables as a "select * from tablea" as opposed to "select * from tsreader.tablea".
Any thoughts on how to make this work? I know I have the login correct because it is the same one I use for the SQL 2000 packages. Also, in SSIS it allows me to chose the tables I want yet I still get "Table does not exist at source" when I try and execute it.
