In SQL Server 7.0 Enterprise Manager | node-name | Management | Current Activity, if I try to refresh the current activity or view the current activity data, I get a hourglass for several minutes, then an error message box that says:
Error 3621: Lock request time out period exceeded. The statement has been terminated. The statement has been terminated. [OK].
I need to see the current activity to check on blocking, etc.
I have a On_hand_Quantity report which has a parameter drop down to select about 200 stores.
When i run this report in BI studio , selecting all the 200 stores for the parameter it works fine.
But when i upload the same report to report manager and try selecting all the store_numbers it errors out saying 'operation cannot run due to current state of the object ' This report was running fine since the past 2 years, on 30th dec we did some .NET updates (KB2656356 and KB2656351) after which this report stopped working.
I tried troubleshooting all ways but it errors out only in report manager.
My backup fails in the night, because of a non logged operation being executed at the same instant. I am interested in finding out the statement that is causing the problem. What would be the best way to do that?
My objective is to only get the records for Current USER's region and district. Please let me know what I am missing....Thank you!!! private void Page_Load(object sender, System.EventArgs e) { if (!IsPostBack) { bindGrid(); } }
private void bindGrid() { @username=HttpContext.Current.User.Identity.Name; SqlCommand getCommand = new SqlCommand(); getCommand.Connection=sqlConnection1; getCommand.CommandText="SELECT DealerCode,DealerName,ClaimCount," + "Total$,CliamDays FROM DealerList,pwausers,pwadlrs WHERE" + "@username=user_name AND parts_reg=dmpreg AND parts_dist=dmpdist"; sqlConnection1.Open(); sqlDataAdapter1.Fill(dataSet1); DataGrid1.DataSource=dataSet1; DataGrid1.DataBind(); Cache["DealerListData"]=dataSet1; sqlConnection1.Close(); }
I was using Type 2 for one of our Fact table.... and need to put a flag to know which one is the Current record... I couldn't able to figure how to implement logic in the merge statement... This is an example Query ....I was using like this for my fact table...
Basically I need to track CustomerName and City... So I need a Currentflag (Y) for latest record....
MERGE INTO [dbo].[TargetCustomer] AS TRG USING [dbo].[MyCustomers] AS SRC ON TRG.[CustomerID] = SRC.[CustomerID] AND TRG.[CustomerName]=SRC.[CustomerName] AND TRG.[City]=SRC.[City]
I am using-- exec sp_fulltext_database 'enable' to enable fulltext indexing on a database but query does not return any results, it just keeps on executing. I waited for about an hour and then cancelled. I dont know what is wrong. Can anybody please help me....
If I run the following select statment against the appropriate table it returns the duplilcate records in the result set. However, from this list I want to add an additional select statement embedded into the query that will actually return only those records with the most current syscreated date.
Example of script I'm using---
select cmp_fadd1, syscreated, cmp_name, cmp_code from cicmpy where cmp_fadd1 in (select cmp_fadd1 from cicmpy group by cmp_fadd1 having count(1) = 2) order by cmp_fadd1,syscreated desc
The results is:
Address Syscreated date Customer 1622 ONTARIO AVENUE 2005-06-15 22:19:45.000 RELIABLE PARTSLTD 1622 ONTARIO AVENUE 2004-01-22 18:10:05.000 RELIABLE PARTS LTD PEI CENTER 2006-01-05 22:03:50.000 P.G. ENERGY PEI CENTER 2004-01-22 17:57:56.000 P.G. ENERGY
From this I want to be able to select ONLY those records with the most current syscreated date or those records with 2005-06-15 and 2006-01-05
I'm trying to create a WHERE statement that will calculate values from our current fiscal year to the last complete month.I'm using code that was created for us that does the calculations for our entire fiscal years. I thought I had fixed the WHERE statement to work like we wanted last year, but it appears to be broken now after trying it again in January and February. I'm guessing my WHERE statement only works for March and up, but how to get it to work for every month. Most attempts I'm trying it's just returning very large and inaccurate values.
I included my WHERE statement below of what I originally had that worked last year. The @BeginYear/Month/etc are retrieved from a different table and @Month is just set to MONTH(GETDATE())-1.
WHERE (YEAR(SA3.DocumentDate)=@BeginYear AND MONTH(SA3.DocumentDate)>=@BeginMonth AND MONTH(SA3.DocumentDate)<=@Month) OR (YEAR(SA3.DocumentDate)=@EndYear AND MONTH(SA3.DocumentDate)<=@EndMonth AND MONTH(SA3.DocumentDate)>=@Month)
I've been trying to create a full-text index using Enterprise Manager. If I right-click on the table, "Full-Text Index Table" is grayed-out. If I right-click on Full-Text Catalogs, "New Full-Text Catalog" is grayed-out. If I try to start the Full-Text Indexing Wizard it tells me that the "Full-Text Server service needs to be running." The SQL database is on a remote server, and the host assures me that everything on their end is working properly. Does anybody know what I have to do??

I am using MS SQL Server 2000 SP3a on windows server 2000.
I have 4 FT indexs on 4 of my tables. They are schedules to run every day once. For the last couple of days the jobs are hanged.
When I tried to open Catalogs by clicking on 'Full Text Catalogs' enterprice manager hangs( not responding). I had to go to taskmanager and then click on end task to re-open the enterprise manager.
Also when I right click on one of the tables enabled with FT indexing Enterprise manager hangs up again.
If I cannt open FTCatalogs how can I rebuild them.

I've discovered an issue with the text qualifier field in the file connection manager when upgrading a SSIS 2005/2008 package from a 32 bit platform to 64 bit platform runninn SQL Server 2008 R2 10.5.1600.
The package will convert <none> in this field to _x003C_none_x003E and therefore any package using the file connection manager i.e. import/export - common tasks on SSIS! will cause problems either with output data or imported data.
Simply replacing _x003C_none_x003E with <none> fixes the issue but ofcourse there can be many packages affected as a result.
Any existing/impending cumulative update for SQL Server 2008 R2 Standard that will fix the problem?double quote delimiters are converted to _x0022_ which I am assume by replacing with a double quote will fix the problem.
I have created a DTS package that pulls data from one column (varchar,600) in a table and exports it to a text file. The max length in this field is only 285 characters long, however, the end of one of the records is being truncated in the text file. Data is tab delimited in the table and is being exported that way.
For some reason whenever I look at the SQL statement of a particular table, the table name displays twice.For example,SELECT * FROM State StateEven when I execute this statement, it still returns the correct results. It does this for all tables in this particular database. I also check another database and thoses display the table names in the SQL statements correctly. Does anyone know why the table name would display twice in a table inside of a particular database?
I've this query SELECT t1.ID, t1.Date, t1.Time, t1.VALUE FROM RESULT WHERE t1.Date>=CONVERT(VARCHAR(10),DATEADD(d,-7,GETDATE()),101) AND t1.Date<CONVERT(VARCHAR(10), GETDATE(), 101)
Let's say, current date is 8 AUG 2005 and current time is 2045 So, i will get ID | Date (this is datetime) | Time (this is integer) | Value -------------------------------------------------- 204 | 8/1/2005| 2359 | 90 205 | 8/1/2005| 2250 | 99 206 | 8/1/2005| 1950 | 88 ... ... 207 | 8/7/2005| 1845 | 77 208 | 8/7/2005| 2255 | 77 209 | 8/7/2005| 2140 | 77
Can someone can show me to filter data between t1.Date>=CONVERT(VARCHAR(10),DATEADD(d,-7,GETDATE()),101) AND TIME>=CurrentTime t1.Date<CONVERT(VARCHAR(10), GETDATE(), 101) AND TIME<=CurrentTime
If current date is 8 AUG 2005 and current time is 2045, so the result shown as follow
ID | Date (this is datetime) | Time (this is integer) | Value -------------------------------------------------- 204 | 8/1/2005| 2359 | 90 205 | 8/1/2005| 2250 | 99 ... ... 207 | 8/7/2005| 1845 | 77
I only have this query, SELECT t1.ID, t1.Date, t1.Time, t1.VALUE FROM RESULT WHERE t1.Date>=CONVERT(VARCHAR(10),DATEADD(d,-7,GETDATE()),101) AND t1.Date<CONVERT(VARCHAR(10), GETDATE(), 101)
The following sql statement fails:SELECT IdFlight, OrganizerLastName + ", " + OrganizerFirstName + "Flt:" + FlightNumber As Concat FROM TableFlights Order ByOrganizerLastName, OrganizerFirstNameI'm trying to concatenate fields and words, but my asp.net page givesme an error saying " Flt:" is not a field.Thanks,Marvin
I am trying to take a value from at textbox and insert into a database. I think I need to convert the text to an integer - but I keep getting an error message saying I'm not allowed to use column names. Basically, I need to figure out how to take user input from these tet boxes and insert them into a database. Any ideas would be welcomed. the exact error is at the bottom the code.Here is the code:Imports System.DataImports System.Data.SqlClientPartial Class County_ConversionTest Inherits System.Web.UI.Page Protected Sub Button1_Click(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Button1.Click Dim v1 As Integer Dim v2 As Integer 'Dim v3 As Integer v1 = Integer.Parse(TextBox1.Text) v2 = Integer.Parse(TextBox2.Text) TextBox3.Text = (v1 + v2) End Sub Protected Sub Button2_Click(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Button2.Click Dim strconn As String = "Data Source=.SQLEXPRESS;AttachDbFilename=C:InetpubwwwrootHCBSApp_DataDivAging_Data.MDF;Integrated Security=True;Connect Timeout=30;User Instance=True" Dim cnnDivAging As SqlConnection = New SqlConnection(strconn) Dim v1 As Integer Dim v2 As Integer Dim v3 As Integer v1 = CInt(TextBox1.Text) v2 = CInt(TextBox2.Text) v3 = CInt(TextBox3.Text) Dim strsql As String = "INSERT INTO tblTest (Name, fv1,fv2,fv3)" + _ "Values ('George',v1,v2,v3)" Dim cmdUpdates As SqlCommand = New SqlCommand(strSQL, cnnDivAging) cmdUpdates.Connection = cnnDivAging cnnDivAging.Open() cmdUpdates.CommandType = CommandType.Text cmdUpdates.ExecuteNonQuery() cnnDivAging.Close() End SubEnd ClassHere is the error message -

Can you guys help me out? I m trying to sum up some varchar-typed field. I need to convert it to float before doing the summing up so I m using "Cast".
I do get the answer but its not the correct figure. My SQL statement is as follow:
SELECT Sum((Cast(Qty1 as float)) + (Cast(Qty2 as float))) as intAnswer FROM TableName
Is it possible to combine fields and text in a select statement? In a dropDownList I want to show a combination of two different fields, and have the value of the selected item come from a third field. So, I thought I could maybe do something like this: SELECT DISTINCT GRP AS GroupName, "Year: " + YEAR + "Grade: " + GRD AS ShowMe FROM GE_Data WHERE (DIST = @DIST)
I hoped that would take the values in YEAR and GRD and concatenate them with the other text. Then my dropDownList could show the ShowMe value and have the GroupName as the value it passes on. However, when I test this in the VS Query Builder, it says that Year and Grade are unknown column names and changes the double-quotes to square brackets. If this is possible, or there's a better way to do it, I'd love some more info. Thanks! -Mathminded
Hi everyone, So what I am trying to do is to have a simple textbox where the person enters a code. Then I need to have that code in an SQL statement like: SELECT Participant_Code FROM Contacts WHERE (this is where im stuck, I need to have something like WHERE Participant_code = code (code is the textbox ID)) After this is done I need to keep this code from page to page, because I will need to add data from other textboxes to the database. Thanks
I am trying to add a case/select/if statement in the text color property of reporting services. I want it so if the value of a variable is 1 then "GREEN" else "RED". Any ideas?
I wish I had a better idea about how to describe this but here goes. I'm trying to display a list of majors/minors/graduate programs for a particular user. Now, I've gotten it display perfectly and was able to append (Graduate), (Major), (Minor) to each of the 3 different sections. My question is is it possible to add like rows that don't actually exist in table to the beginning of the select? For instance I want to add All and General before the rest of the select. I was also wondering where I should do a group by cuz I'd like to keep it in blocks of like graduates then majors and finally minors but currently it is just doing it alphabetically...Anyways below are the tables and at the end the current stored procedure i'm using, which works great...just not to the degree I'm aiming for.

I am doing a web app on the full text search.My select statement using CONTAINS but it doesn't seem to return all the string that contains the search word I included in the query.For example:
Select CustomerID, customername, from CustomerTable where CONTAINS ((CustomerID), '"430*")
the query result only return all customer id which has space in front 430 or start with 430 ex: "xxx 430xxx" or "430 xxx" or "xxx 430 xxx"
but did not return customerID which doesn't has space in front of it Ex: x430xxx
If I use LIKE '%430%', the result return are both have space in front and don't have space in front.

Hello Experts, I am createing one task (user control) in SSIS. I have property grid in my GUI and 2 buttons (OK & Cancle). PropertyGrid has Properties like SourceConnection, OutputConnection etc....right now I am able to populate Connections in list box next to Source and Output Property.
Now my question to you guys is depending on Source Connection it should read that text file associated with connection manager. After validation it should pick header (first line of text file bases on record type) and write it into new file when task is executed. I have following code for your reference. Please let me know I am going in right direction or not.. What should go here ? ->Under Class A
I have such a problem. Need to add additional column to my query. The column should consist of set of fixed number (same as number of query rows) values (text). At start thought it's simple but now Im lost. Is there any chance to do it. Apreciate any help. I need to tell that I have only access to select on this database so no use of operation on tables.
I need to set a field value based on two date time parameter's.What is the correct syntax to allow me to pass the value into the field in my SSRS expression ?
