i need some help here.
1)i get this message when i tyr to connect to reporting Service in the SQL 2005 Management Studio
2) it seems like the permissions i set in the webiste http://sqlserver/reports (Report Manager) are not active...regular domain user to which i granted browser permissions to specific folder can brwose everything.
3) im not quite sure here, im not having a service labeled like Report& | $ Service . Some people say it must be in there...u know with the ampersand in the name of the service...im confused

Mar 20, 2014I have a 3 node cluster on which I have installed SSAS as it's own insntance. I have created this as a named instance and can connect to it by serverinstance if I'm on the server itself. However from my desktop I get the error saying instance was not found on server name.
I have defined an alternate port and setup firewall rules and can connect via server:port but not serverinstance. Prior to making this change SSAS was running on default port of 2383 and I could connect just by servername.
I have read many articles for previous versions saying that clustered SSAS will always use 2383 and that you must connect just using servername. However and this is were it gets strange. I have a 2 node UAT cluster with SSAS setup exactly the same way I've described above and I can connect from my desktop as serverinstance.
Should I be able to connect as serverinstances for a named clustered instance in 2012 ?

I have installed sql server 2005 along with reporting services... though i am able to design report using business intelligence studio... i am unable to access the report server.... while trying to start the reporting services configuration manager it says no report server found on the specified machine...Invalid Namespace... the installation is local ...
Due to this problem inspite of designing the entire report i am unable to deploy it on the web..since it is asking for a report server...
Can somebody please help me on this...

Can't Install BCM - SQL Instance Not Created && Path Not Found
Apr 15, 2008When trying to install Business Contact Manager (BCM) for Outlook 2007, the setup failed and I was refered to a log file in my Local Settings Temp folder. The log actually says that Business Contact Manager was installed sucessfully! BCM is supposed to install SQL Express 2005 an an instance or an instance if SQL Express is already installed. The BCM Instance did not install either when installing SQL Express with BCM or when SQL Express is installed first and then BCM is installed.
When I went into Computer Management and clicked on Services and Applications in the left panel, the error message appeared "Snap-in failed to intialize. Name: SQL Server Configuration Manager CLSID:{CA9F8727-31DF-41D2-975C-887D84903967} This message diappeared when I clicked on Services and Applications again. Under Services, there are 3 SQL services - one is an application that was uninstalled 3-4 weeks ago and I disabled this service. The other 2 are: SQL Server (MSSMLBIZ) and the other one is SQL Server (SQLEXPRESS) When I tried to start either of the last 2, the message appeared: Services "Could not start the SQL Server (MSSMLBIZ) service on Local Computer. Error 3: The system cannot finde the path specified.
How do I get the BCM SQL instance to install and what do the messages in Services mean and how do I resolve these.

Datasource Cannot Be Found After Report Redeployment
Nov 3, 2006We have an application using the winforms report viewer, and it displays all our reports perfectly untill I need to redeploy a report.
As soon as a report is re-deployed a refresh of the report in the viewer shows the following error message:
An error has occured during report processing. The data souce 'mydatasource' cannot be found.
This error occurs irrespective of electing to re-deploy ot not re-deploy the datasource, and the only solution seems to be to close the report viewer down and restart it.
I can reproduce the same problem hosting the reports in a web browser as well, with a slightly different error message
An error has occurred during report processing. (rsProcessingAborted). The data source 'mydatasource' cannot be found. (rsDataSourceNotFound)
Under RS2000 any changes that were made to a report, would automatically be shown to the user if the report was refreshed, without having to close the browser/application down and restart it.
Can I configure RS2005 to prevent this error occuring ? I have read that RS2005 seems to work a lot more within the IIS session for the user and cache things it thinks are usefull, so can I turn this behaviour off, or make it run like RS 2000 did, which provided me with a stable reporting platform?
If I cannot do this from the RS end of the system, is there any advice on using the winforms control to get around this issue - i've only just started using the control so I am not familiar with all its aspects !

No Report Servers Were Found On The Specified Machine
Jul 12, 2007I am trying to configure MOSS and SSRS and when I go to Grant Database Access via Central Admin, I get this error No report servers were found on the specified machine.
I have created the sharepoint integrated databae via Reporting Services Config tool. Any ideas?

Report Manager Execution Cannot Be Found
Feb 6, 2008Hello.
Every time we try to view reports using Report Manager this error (
Execution 'kj1mek55bmhvft55cihmeb55' cannot be found) is occured. However, we can view reports using ReportViewer control from VS2005 and subscriptions works properly (without this error).
We are using integrated security to login to Report Manager.
Configuration: SQL Server 2005, SSRS 2005 SP1, Windows 2003, IIS 6.0
How can we fix it?
Please let me know if you need any additional information.

Jun 26, 2003I've got a big problem with the Analysis Services.
I have a SQL Server 2000 SP3 and the Analysis Services SP3 running. The SQL Server has no problems.
When I try to browse the Data of any cube, the following error message occurs:
"Provider cannot be found. It may not be properly installed." When I try to browse other cubes after this, the error message "unknown error" occurs.
The databases, on which the cubes are based are both Access2k and SQL Server 2k. The error even appears at the test cubes from Microsoft, so it cannot be simply a problem of the database.

VS2003 - Deploying Reports - No Report Server Was Found At

We have many domain users who develop/deploy reports using VS2003 to our remote server at https://server/reportserver with no problems at all.
A single workstation on the domain that been used to develop reports cannot deploy though. The message looks fairly simple to diagnose "no report server was found at https://server/reportserver". I have checked dns and the servername resolves no problem. I have manaully edited and added the server to the hosts file also. I have updated and service packed all VS elements (VS2003 7.1.6030).
The server is contactable in all ways on this workstation, all ip/dns settings are the same as other domain workstations.
Can anyone point me in the direction of log files to look at, or if i am missing any basic options in VS. I have checked all deployment settings from other workstations.

Sep 22, 2010I am running a huge SSRS 2008 report and it gets rendered sometimes and sometimes it gives me an error,"The report execution has expired or cannot be found. (rsExecutionNotFound)”.
When I see SQL Server log after this issue comes I see following message there; "A significant part of sql server memory has been paged out. This may result in performance degradation. Duration: 300 seconds. Working set(KB): 97672, memory utilization 42%" .what is the issue and how to fix it.
SharePoint Reporting Services Integration 'Execution ... Cannot Be Found'
Aug 6, 2007I have setup the Sharepoint 2007 Reporting Services add-in and am running into an issue. I was able to get a report to show up in a report viewer webpart once, but after that, I receive a message similiar to the following (for all reports);
'Execution 'ex2ubmetmr13vdffxciursfg' cannot be found '
Any help would be appreicated. I'm including my log file for the error as well as it should be helpful.

Sql Server Reporting Services 2005 Returns 404 Not Found
Oct 14, 2007I just installed Sql Server Reporting Services 2005 on a Windows Server 2003 R2 x64 server. I configured Reporting Services through the Reporting Services Configuration tool and everything has a green checkmark.
I'm trying to connect to the webservice, but keep getting 404 not found errors. I've tried putting the following into a web browser and all return a 404 error:
http://msql01/reports/
http://msql01/reportserver/
http://msql01/reportserver/reportservice.asmx?wsdl
http://msql01/reportserver/reportservice2005.asmx?wsdl
I've tried edting the RSWebApplication.config file using the following configurations (restarting IIS afterwards) without any luck:

Integration Services :: The Configuration Environment Variable Was Not Found
Jul 28, 2008I have a Master Package that executes a number a child packages.
In my SSIS Package Configuration:
1. I have an SSIS Configuation table that holds the connection string.
2. An XML Configuration File with a setting of configuration location stored in an enviornmental variable.
3. And finally, an Eveniornmental variable with the setting of ProjectFolderAbsolutePath value, where it is the full path of the project folder.
The project functions normally but everytime I open it I get the following error.
" Warning loading MasterPackage.dtsx: The configuration environment variable was not found. The environment variable was: "EnviorVariable". This occurs when a package specifies an environment variable for a configuration setting but it cannot be found. Check the configurations collection in the package and verify that the specified environment variable is available and valid."

Every now and then, my users get this error while in the Reportviewer.
Usually, they have to close the window where the report was rendered
and pull it open again. Attempting to open the report again does not

Manage A Data Source For A Report Found In A SharePoint Document Library

The problem i faces was to create a data source for the
uploaded report (Not created using a wizard ) that will connect
me to the SQL server.
As i clicked on the arrow near the uploaded report to manage the data source, i found no
data source for this item.
I would be pleased to know the howto create this data source and where.

Integration Services :: SSIS Execute Process Task Executable Not Found
Jul 10, 2015I have an execute process task set up to run ftp.exe and a script argument. The ftp.exe is referenced in the executable field without a qualified path. The package just seems to know it's there relatively. I need to change this to run a secured ftp executable that I recently installed on my pc. I put the new executable in the WindowsSystem32 folder where the old ftp.exe is stored. But when I put the new executable in the executable field, it says the 'File/Process "FTPS.exe" is not in path'. I get the same error when I fully qualify the path. Is there something I need to do with the new executable for SSIS to pick it up without having to fully qualify the path?

Integration Services :: SSIS 2012 Script Component Binary Code Not Found
Apr 21, 2015After adding Service Reference to WebService, the Script Component has Binary Code not found, red circle not showing these are the steps I followed:
1) Add Script Component as Source
2) Add 3 x Output Columns Col1,2 and 3
3) Add HTTP Connection URL>..Binary Code not found, red circle showing
4) Add test code to Sub CreateNewOutputRows Dim i As Integer = 6 Binary Code not found, red circle not showing
5) Add Service Reference URL...Binary Code not found, red circle showing again
Should just adding Service Reference cause Binary Code not found, red circle to appear. I have to set precompilescripttobinary option , however cannot see this option in 2012

Multiple Instance Of The Same Report.

I have a report that has a SSN input parameter based on which the report is generated.
So given a single row (one SSN), one report instance is generated.
Now, I have multiple rows 20,000 or so, rows from which I need 20,000 reports generated, (so they can be printed and mailed to the clients)
How do I design the report that can handle singe or multiple reports instances?
I did tried to use the List Report Item however I could not find a way to fix the page numbers so they restart for each instance of the reports instead of being 1 of 20,000 2 of 20,2000 and so on

How Do You Move A Report And Its Subscriptions To A Different RS2005 Instance?
Oct 26, 2007I am new to RS. The Report developers want a way to move a report and its subscriptions to a different RS2005 instance. They tell me they can move the report but have to manually add the subscriptions back. Is that true? Is there no friendly way to move the subscriptions?
