The Connection Is Not Found. This Error Is Thrown By Connections Collection When The Specific Connection Element Is Not Found

I've got a package which reads a text file into a table and updates another. I set up configurations so that I could import it into the SSIS store on both my dev and live servers. Now, I'm getting this error. I tried removing the configs and am still getting it.
I've been through each step and everything looks okay. Does anyone have any idea (a) what's wrong, (b) how to localise the error or (c) get any additional information? Or do I just have to recreate the package from scratch?

hi,
this is sanjeev,
i have SSIS package, using my c# program i want to add one execute package task to this package's sequence container.
it is creating the new package with out any probelm. but when i opened the package and try to move the newly created exeute package task it is giving the following error.
the element cannot be found in a collection. this error happens when you try to retrieve an element from a collection on a container during the execution of the package

Hello,
Does anyone know what this error means and how to resolve it? I get this error when I attempt to run a Data Flow Task. The Data Flow Task has one subcomponent, a Flat File Source. I have set up the connection manager to access the flat file, which is on a local directory. I have tried everything to fix this. What could possibly be the problem??

I'm getting the error
Error: 0xC001000E at : The connection "" is not found.
when executing Control Flow tasks. However the tasks still completes successfully (Execute SQL or DataFlow tasks), and the Control Flow box turns green in the usual fashion.
However if I try to execute all of the Control Flows (using the green Debug arrow), nothing will execute as I get a Package Validation error, with the same error message.
Any ideas why this might be occurring? All of my connection managers look to be set up correctly

It is clear that this is a prblem with my Machine.Config file - since I've "worked!" on this file for a while. But when I've checked the Machine.config file I've found the LocalSqlServer connection it is talking about! .

I have been trying to host my website on Go Daddy for about 3 weeks and I have cleared several problems but this one remains. I can get into the ASPNETDB database for doing logins , etc but I cant access my database called "PINEmgt".
To try to understand where the problem is located,I built a very simple application without login controls and put on it one Detailform accessing a single line table "Signin". I continually get the error message I got with my real app :"The connection name 'PINEMgtConnectionString2' was not found in the applications configuration or the connection string is empty. " There is only one connection string in my app -'PINEMgtConnectionString2'. When I run the app locally on my machine it works. After I move everything to Go Daddy, I get the error message and the following dump"

I have seen another thread with this same problem, but the problem seemed to be a typo. I am getting an error when I try to access the web site ..
The connection name 'USASH-AS0013' was not found in the applications configuration or the connection string is empty.

Hi,
This is the error that I am getting after an unsuccessful
database attachment.
Error 21776: [SQL-DMO] The name 'XXXX' was not found in the Database
collection. If the name is a qualified name, use [] to separate various parts
of the name, and try again.
Any ideas how can I delete that database?

I know why Im getting this msg, I restored a dbase from another server...so there is an orphan in the syslogin tables..is the solution below ok to do ?..and if so, do I re-enter user in the syssusers table or in EM ?
any other suggestions without touching the sysusers table would be appreciated as well

- Delete the user from "sysusers"
- Re enter the user granting it the correct access to the database
- Turn off "Allow modifications to be ....."

I am using windows 2003 server and i have installed SSAS 2005 and configured http request for AS 2005 with this below url : http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechnol/sql/2005/httpasws.mspx. I had tried all the possiblities given in this url. But i am getting like "Test connection failed because of error initializing provider. The HTTP Server returned the following error : Not found" when i create udl file. Moreover i have installed MSOLAP 3.0 and OLAP 9.0 provider and MSXML 6.0 Parser.
Can you anyone please provide solution for this?

Hi,I'm developing a desktop C# app that uses SQL Everywhere as an embedded database. I generated strongly typed DataSet and use that to populate a DataGrid on my app.When the app first loads, it populates the DataGrid with a line like this:

That all works fine. Later on, after adding more data to the database (through reading a csv file), I wanted to refresh the display on the DataGrid.
I used the same line of code:
this.sTORE_INV_LNTableAdapter.Fill(this.inventoriesDataSet.STORE_INV_LN);
however, this time, the following exception was thrown:
The database file cannot be found. Check the path to the database. [ File name = .\Inventories.sdf ]
Does anyone know what may be going on? I saw this article about a bug in VS 2005 when using strongly typed DataSets (http://channel9.msdn.com/wiki/default.aspx/MobileDeveloper.DatabaseCannotBeFoundErrorInTypedDataset)
but that doesn't seem to apply here.
The connection string is identical both times that line of code is called so I'm a bit baffled with what's going on.

I have created 2 packages in BIDS, these are both working fine. I am trying to deploy to the server using the Package installation wizard, but I am stopped by an error stating "Could not save package" and "Element not found".

Hi. I have a SSIS that is failing and I don't know if it is a logging or dba connection issue. I has this set up:
-A db connection pointing to the data source
-A file connection for the logging
-A package configuration with the db connection and file connection info.
When I run my SSIS in the IDE then I get in the error message this:

Error at packagexxx [Log provider "SSIS log provider for Text files"]: the connection manager "" is not found. A component failed to find the connection manager in the Connections collection.

When I try to create an SSIS package with an FTP task, it always fails to compile with the messages:
Error at Package: The connection "" is not found. This error is thrown by Connections collection when the specific connection element is not found.
Error at FTP Task [FTP Task]: Connection manager "" can not be found.
Error at FTP Task: There were errors during task validation.
(Microsoft.DataTransformationServices.VsIntegration)
The item is marked with a circled-X. The tool-tip also agrees: The connection "" is not found.
Using my recreation steps below, I am setting up a connection manager, but it is never found at compile time.
1. Open BIDS, select a new Integration Services project.
2. Drag an FTP task from the toolbox to the Control Flow window.
3. Double-click the FTP task.
4. On the FTP Task Editor window, General page, pull down the FTPConnection property.
5. Select <New Connection...>
6. On the FTP Connection Manager Editor window, enter the servername, port, username and password.
7. Click "Test Connection" to verify connectivity. (It succeeds.)
8. Click OK on the FTP Connection Manager Editor window.
9. Click OK on the FTP Task Editor window.
I'm not using a configuration file or logging provider for this example.
I have also installed SP2 + cumulative update 2.

We need to copy about 25 databases whenever we get a new softwaredelivery. Currently, the process is to manually use the DTS databasecopy wizard.Doing some research, I created a DTS package to copy databases. Butthis was not going to work since I have to hard code the databasenames in the package. Back to RTFMing, I discovered the DynamicProperties Task. So now I setup a .bat file that calls dtsrun and viaglobal variables passes in the source and target database names to thecopy db DS package.I did a simple test against a test database that I have and it worked.But when I tried it against some "real" databases I get the followingerrors. I'm trying to edit the Expressions of a Data Flow task. This seems to happen when I rename some of the Data Flow components but not always. The error I get is:
Element "[ADO Net Source].[SqlCommand]" does not exist in the collection "Properties"
However, if you look at the XML, this property does exist. So I'm not sure why this should occur.
I'm using SSIS 2008 R2 with Visual Studio 2008 V 9.0.30729.4462 QFE.

We have an application server running Windows Server 2000 with Sp4. When we use the ODBC data sources connection software, it shows the SQL Server 2000 servers in the drop down box, but none of the new 2005 servers. If we enter the 2005 server name and try to connect, we get the 'Specified SQL Server not found' error message. The connection works fine from a newer Windows XP box and remote connections is enabled. My guess is that we need a new ODBC to connect to SQL Server 2005, but I can't find anything that says this.

Hi,
Our application has two parts: one is Windows application and the other
one is Windows service. The service runs under Local system accont. We
use third party application to log into database which uses instance of
SQL Server 2005 Express . We use same methods for logging for Windows
application and for Windows service. Both, application and the service
are compiled with .Net framework 2.0 and VS 2005 (C#).
The application always logs into the database succesfuly. The problem
is with the service. The code for the service works like this: first
login into database to retrieve some data, after that log off and
disconnect, and after that immediately tries to login again using the
the same credentials. The first login is always succesful, but the
second one fails with error message:
Type:System.ArgumentNullException
Message:Value cannot be null.
Parameter name: Value is
null.
If we set the Service to run under User windows
account - everything works fine. Does anyone have similar
problems? What can be the problem here? Can anyone help me?

I'm trying to set the value of the SelectedDatabases collection property of an Update Statistics Task using an expression for the task, basing it on a user variable. Ultimately, I'll set that variable's value from a configuration file at run time and thereby specify the database whose statistics I want to update.
When I set this up in the designer, I get an error at the time I try to save the package:

I used the expression editor's expression builder to select the user variable, so I assume the syntax is correct. However, I'm suspecting that there's some additional syntax required to store that value in the collection's array. I cannot find any references to any special formats and am wondering if anyone know's how to do this correctly. On the other hand, maybe it is telling me setting this property from an expression is not even allowed. If it's not allowed, why is it in the list of properties to set? In any case, none of this is clear.
Any ideas or suggestions are appreciated. Thanks,

we have a active/passive cluster server with SQL server 2005 SP2 installed.
i have found the following error messages in event viewer application log for MSSQLServer:
1) [sqsrvres] CheckQueryProcessorAlive: sqlexecdirect failed.
2) [sqsrvres] printODBCError: sqlstate = 08S01; native error = 2746; message = [Microsoft][SQL Native Client]TCP Provider: An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host.
3) [sqsrvres] printODBCError: sqlstate = 08S01; native error = 2746; message = [Microsoft][SQL Native Client]Communication link failure
4) [sqsrvres] OnlineThread: QP is not online.
can any one pls help me finding out the solutions.

Hi there,
lately I had the following message on win2000 sp4 with sqlserver2000 sp3a: "DTS Designer Error - Specified file not found".
Then in the DTS editor the Task menu objects are missing and it is not possible to link a source and a target using Transform Data Task.
Before it used to work fine.
I have done the following:
- installing again last sp: same issue again
- reinstalling sqserver with a registry deep cleaning: same issue again
- started disabled windows services: same issue again
any idea?

Hai,
Installed SQL server 2000 as a SERVER in one machine and Client tools of SQL server 2000 in another machine as CLIENT.
Able to connect and view SERVER machine SQL SERVER 2000 database from CLIENT machine and it is working fine.
while trying to connect locally SQL Server 2000 in CLIENT machine itself,getting the Error "VNSAPI32.dll not found or Missing"
Not used Banyan VINES network, still getting
SQL server does not exist or Access denied "ConnectionOpen(Connect())"

as Christopher Yager say in "Need distributed service broker sample", I also test sending messages between two SQL Server 2005 instances,and after I setup the test environment with instance1 and instance2,I find queue [q2] in ssb2 can't receive message from ssb1. when I query by "select * from sys.transmission_queue",I get some message records that transmission_status is "64(error not found)".

I was requested to build and move and existing SSIS package from the developers local PC to the Dev server. Both are running SQL 2K5, I built the following command file so SQL Agent can run the import job.

Hi,
I have created a FTP task that logs into FTP server and receives files and scheduled it to run every 15min. However, it fails when there are no files on FTP. How would I check the if files exist? How can I catch the FTP task error and compare it to Hresults.NoFilesFound in a script task?

I have recently installed a new server for a client running SBS2003 R2 with SQLServer 2005.
I noted that the backup failed the SQL Server database on the consistenty check. On checking the event log I see this message as per above.
It reads in the description

Looking in the error log I see :

This is a new server with about 90% of disk space NTFS still available
