I'm using SQL Express with Advance Services & I get this error when I try to deploy my reports. Why do I get this error
An error has occurred during report processing. (rsProcessingAborted)

The feature: "Remote access to report data sources and/or the report server database" is not supported in this edition of Reporting Services. (rsOperationNotSupported)
Hi My project is in .NET 2003 i.e. framework 1.1 and database in SQLServer 2000. But the reports have been developed using SQLServer 2005 Reporting Services. Now when I am trying to deploy them through deployment project of .NET its giving me following error:"Using other editions of SQL Server for report data sources and/or the report server database" is not supported in this edition of Reporting Services. Now I am really confused with this. Can any one please guide me regarding this ASAP. Thanks, Falguni
I'm very new new at this. I'm try to deploy a report model and got this message. I have no idea what its going on about.
Can anyone help me?

I have created and deployed a data source (which uses "Credentials supplied by the user running the report") and a model which uses this data source. Also I have built a report using Report Builder and all works well.
Now I wish to use Visual Studio to build a report, so I'm trying to create a data source from my computer which the report should use and I want it to use the model on the remote server. In the Report Wizard I am using "Report Server Model" and the following connection string:
IHowever I can't make the credentials to work. I've tried them all with no luck. What username/password must I use? Because so far nothing of what I have tried works.
I have search all around the net, trying to get a solution for my application under MS Access 2003, I developed a database that generates a report, this report will need to be accessed trough the internal network, perhaps we don't want any user to have direct access to the database itself, and also we don't want to have to manually posted the report in the shared folder, we want to set up this to be done automatically and the end user won't need to have MS access in their pc, perhaps exporting the report as an spreadsheet instead. I try by using Macros within Access but this will only work manually from the .mdb file. I also check what options do I have if I use Javascript but I don't think it will work either, since I'm not using Crystal Reports. Can you please provide me with some guidance, if this is actually possible from a database/report under MS Access 2003.
It appears to work fine on my end however on my clients end, whenever they try to print a report that displays perfectly within the report viewer to their printer by selecting the printer button in the report it never ends up printing.., however if they go into printer setup and change the page range to print from all pages to just maybe one page and then select the print button it seems to print fine..
The printer seems to receive the information as the light flashes but no page kick out when all pages is selected to print..
Am having difficulty with report/query parameters, where the report now regularly tells me that I must declare the scalar variable @Site.
I want to use 3 data sources :
1. to select a site from a list of sites - works fine and I can select at runtime
2. Once this is selected - I need to present a pair of dates to the user - min and max for data for the site - needs selection 1 to have been performed. Now I HAVE seen this work - once, the date selectors were greyed out until the site had been chosen, then they became available. Now I get the scalar variable error.
3. Finally I will pull the data with 3 parameters (site, startdate, enddate)
This was almost working, and the detail was produced for item 3, until I introduced the date selection option. Now neither item 2 or 3 will accept the users selected site - its from a drop-down.
All 3 queries are being performed by SQL SP's :
1. exec getsitelist - used to populate the dropdown to select @Site
2. exec getdates @Site - used to preset the start/end dates (NB I would really like calendar control here to select the date, with the value pulled from 1 to set the start point - but hey lets walk first ;-).
3. exec GetData @Site, @Start, @End
SOooo - can SSRS2005 even support dependent parameters of this type ??.
If so - whats the best way to create the parameters etc. ??. NB I can see all 3 parameter defs in 'Report Parameters'.
I am using SQL RS 2005. I have a report that is using multiple data sources from different offices. I can add these data sources in my report but is it possible that I can select a specific data source based on a selected parameter value. In this case user from each office, select their office location and be able to see the data from their office. I would appreciate any suggestions. Sal
I have multiple data sources that I would like to use for a single report. The data sources are separate due to security requirements. I have a table that I can get the Initial Catalog from. How do I get that field from the database into the data source connection string at run time?
I saw this link here but the light bulb didn't go off:
In VS 2005, using the ReportViewer control on a form in a Windows app, I've created an Object Data Source for the report by following the walkthrough in the documentation, it works.
I'm a report developer who has created some reportsd against sybase data on another server. I am developing on a 64 bit Server 2003 box using SQL 2005 Reporting services. I hace created 32 bit ODBC data dsns using the supplied utitlity (odbcad32.exe). As I am creating the reports I can pull data using the data sources without a problem, however when I deploy my datasource and report to Report manager and run I get the following:
An error has occurred during report processing.
Cannot create a connection to data source 'Chicago_Reporting'.
ERROR [IM002] [Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] Data source name not found and no default driver specified
This has been driving me crazy for 2 days now. Any help would be very much appreciated.
I have a report I want to modify and when I go to deploy it I get:
Changing the report parameters or data sources to the values you specified is not allowed. The report is configured to run unattended. Using the specified values would prevent the unattended processing of this report
Now I understand the error, it is because on the report server's web management interface I entered credentials for the report to run that point to a custom datasource and supplied the appropriate credentials to run the report.
However, I don't want to have to reconfigure that just to deploy a slightly modified version of the report.
How can I get around this? Or what is the proper work around? I just want to change the background color from dark gray to light gray on a header column....
every 1 hour my server's computer is restarting ! when the windows finish restarting i open the Event viewer and see that what coused it is the error :
"Report Server Windows Service (MSSQLSERVER) cannot connect to the report server database." Event 107 source : "Report Server Windows Service (MSSQLSERVER)"
I have a report designed in RB3 that uses a data source from a SQL database that is on the report server. I want to add data to the report from an access database an a network drive.
I can add the second data source and create a data set to add data to the report. The dataset query returns data from the Access database but when I run the report I get the following error.
An error has occurred during report processing. (rsProcessingAborted)
Cannot create a connection to data source 'Feasibility'. (rsError OpeningConnection)
Also when I test the connection to the Access data base I get error ERROR (IM002) (Microsoft)(ODBC Driver Manger) Data source name not found and no default driver specified.
I noticed that Report Builder is connecting to the report server. If I disconnect from the report server I can a can connect to the Access data base but not the SQL database.
How can I get the report to run against both data sources?
I need to prevent domain and local administrators from having full control over our report manager. (I want them to be assigned permissions just like everyone else, some reports they can see other reports they can not.)
How can I accomplish this? I tried going into Report Manager -> Site Settings -> Configure Site Wide Security and re-assigning BUILTINAdministrators to the System User role instead of the System Administrator role. (A different set of report manager admins was given the system administrator role).
However, it appears that members of the BUILTINAdministrators group still have full control in Report Manager.
Hello, I'm using Reporting Services to render a text (stored in sql as varchar(max)). The text is all plain text, with some lines having trailing spaces.
Source text file i've imported to SQL via SSIS: CLIENT: 10055 STATEMENT 2007 DATE:1002993 THIS IS THE OTHER STATEMENT COLUMN1 COLUMN2 COLUMN 3 TRY THIS
*Note the trailing spaces on the line before 'STATEMENT 2007'.
I've designed a report using the Report Project in VS2005 to retrieve this text via a stored procedure. When I test the report using the 'Preview' tab in the IDE, it looks good CLIENT: 10055 STATEMENT 2007 DATE:1002993 THIS IS THE OTHER STATEMENT COLUMN1 COLUMN2 COLUMN 3 TRY THIS
But when I deploy the report and run it using URL Access:
CLIENT: 10055 STATEMENT 2007 DATE:1002993
THIS IS THE OTHER STATEMENT
COLUMN1 COLUMN2 COLUMN 3 TRY THIS
On all lines with trailing spaces, they (the trailing spaces) have been removed. This is affecting my formatting of some reports and statements. We really want to use the report viewer as it has built in paging, print and export capabilities.
Why does it look okay in VS2005 but different in Report Viewer via URL Access and Report Manager?
Note: When I export as PDF, it looks okay.
The stored procedure I use to return the data is a CLR Hosted assembly as below:
Code Snippet Partial Public Class StoredProcedures <Microsoft.SqlServer.Server.SqlProcedure()> _
Public Shared Sub GetPagedDocument(ByVal inText As SqlString) Dim dr As SqlDataReader Dim row As New SqlDataRecord(New SqlMetaData("RowText", SqlDbType.Text)) Dim cmd As New SqlCommand("select cast(doc as varchar(max)) as 'DOCTEXT' from testdoc WHERE id='" + inText + "'") Dim cn As New SqlConnection("context connection=true") cn.Open() cmd.Connection = cn SqlContext.Pipe.SendResultsStart(row) 'initialise the resultset to be returned dr = cmd.ExecuteReader 'If no records in result set, return. If Not dr.HasRows Then
row.SetString(0, "There is no document to display or you do not have permission to view the document.") SqlContext.Pipe.SendResultsRow(row) SqlContext.Pipe.SendResultsEnd() ' SqlContext.Pipe.Send("There is no document to display.") Return End If 'Read rows in the result set dr.Read()
'Get the entire text Dim docText As String = dr.Item("DOCTEXT") 'debug row.SetString(0, docText) SqlContext.Pipe.SendResultsRow(row) SqlContext.Pipe.SendResultsEnd() Return 'end debug
I am setting up the SQL2005 reporting service to let users build their own reports on the web. I'll provide them with pre-built report models. We have concern with SQL database performance by allowing users to execute huge reports. The problem that I have is: If I give the users permissions to build report they'll have access to the report's Properties | Execution page, which allows them to disable the report execution timeout. Is there a way for me to allow them build reports while restrict them to access the report execution timeout settings?
I would like to know if it is possible to have different applications on separate report servers sharing one report server database. If so are there possible issues or ptfalls to this type of architecture?
In my project i want a report. In that report data is getting from more than one data sources(systems). While creating data source view i used named query for both primary and secondary data source. But at the time of crating "Report Model" i am getting below error.
An error occurred while executing a command. Message: Invalid object name 'Table2'. Command: SELECT COUNT(*) FROM (SELECT SerialNum, ModelNum AS com_model FROM Table2) t
Is there any way to create a report with multiple data sources?
I went to my comp ->rt cick->manage-IIS->default website->rt click->properties->directory security->annoymouse access€¦EDIT->under Default domain it was blank, and i added a domain there.
And i was getting error opening up the reports from localhost.
I changed everything to same as it was previosly, and I am getting the error:
The report server cannot open a connection to the report server database. A connection to the database is required for all requests and processing. (rsReportServerDatabaseUnavailable) (rsRPCError) Get Online Help
Cannot open database "ReportServer$SQLExpress" requested by the login. The login failed. Login failed for user 'NGESComputer name$'.
I'm setting up a simple SSRS implementation for a non-profit organization, using two servers hosted at a data center. The first server has SQL Server Standard Edition and Reporting Services installed. I've designed and deployed a number of useful reports on this server.
I was hoping to isolate this first server by installing IIS and SSRS on the second server, have users browse from the Internet to that second server (over SSL, of course), and have all reports served up from databases (and, presumably, the report server database) on the first server.
During the installation of SSRS on the second server, however, I'm being prompted to specify the service account. According to the help text:
"Reporting Services. Service accounts are used to configure a report server database connection. Choose a domain user account if you want to connect to a report server database on a remote SQL Server instance. If you are using a local report server database, you can use a domain user account or Local System to run the service."
I believe I want to configure SSRS to connect to a report server database on a remote SQL Server instance; therefore, it appears that I need to enter a domain user account. The only problem is, neither server belongs to a domain; they are members of a simple two-server workgroup.
Does SSRS, configured to connect to a report server database on a remote SQL Server instance, require a domain? Does what I'm hoping to accomplish require a domain? Creating a two-server domain seems like overkill for this implementation, doesn't it?
I appreciate any comments and suggestions. Thanks!
Currently - our Reporting Services site is setup so that all Domain Users can access it. We are starting to use Report Builder now. I have enabled the My Reports folder feature that that creates a user folder for anyone that logs onto the site. Is there a way to just create the user folders for certain people?
Hi! I am having a terrible time with the report feature. First of all, my queries through it do not match my queries thru SQL server 2005 Express Management. When I enter my fields, through the auto query function, it moves them. When I try to put them where I think they belong (by editing the SQL code, my queries get all messed up).
Is there a way to import my SQL query and run it through the report feature?
I am using windows XP Pro Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 version 8.0.50727.42 Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services Designers version 9.00.2047.00
I am newbie and working with an application that ueses report server 2000 to make reports.
The problem is somebody has moved the database and changed some acounts and now I can not either get any report from the server or install my changes for reports. I used to run this commando to install changes for reports:
here is the error message i get when i try to install:
System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapException: The report server cannot open a connection to the report server database. The logon failed
when I browse to http://IpAddress:32808/reportserver I get following:
The report server cannot open a connection to the report server database. The logon failed. (rsReportServerDatabaseLogonFailed) Get Online Help
Logon failure: unknown user name or bad password.
at IIS Manager for default web site Enable Anonymous Access is checked and on the database server and the web.config file use same account and password.
but I heard that somewhere there is encrypted password that i have to change it too.

The error happens on Reporting Service version 9.00.3017.00 (the version we are running in Production). The Reporting Service and its database are actually resided in the same physical server. And the strange thing is that it does not prevent any functionalities or features working except when I launch the Management Studio on that server, it usually takes 2 minutes to load up. (any other server would just take 5 -10 seconds).
I am running SQL Reporting Services and SQL Server 2005 on a Windows 2003 server. The configuration has been unchanged for approx. 3 weeks. Suddenly today, reports being accessed via an ASP.NET 2.0 application (on Windows 2003 Server with IIS 6) using a SOAP call to the reportserver became inaccessable. End users received the following error:

Subsequently, the following error is logged on the Report Server/Database server:
Report Server (MSSQLSERVER) cannot connect to the report server database.
I was able to temporarily correct the problem by performing as iisrest on the Report Server/Database server. However, the same problem occured again a couple hours later. I am relatively new to SQL Reporting Services so any help would be appreciated.
