Time Out Issues On Big Table

Dear All,
I am currently working in data migration project that involves bringing InterSystem Corporation's CACHE data tables into SQL Server 2000. Cache is a proprietary systerm with very limited capability . I have a table that has more than 400000 records in Cache and needed to bring this table in SQL server. I have time out issues with this. I wanted to separate the records into different batches and run one by one and put data into SQL server. But table data is random , i.e. non of the data entries can be used to segregate the table in blocks. For example, table structure looks like this

Is there any way to deal with timeout issues and separte the table into many blocks??

I want to use time series algorithm to mine data from my case table and nested table. Case table is Date table, while nested table is the fact table. E.g, I want to predict the monthly sales amount for different region (I have region table related to the fact table), how can I achieve this?

Thank you very much for your kind attention.
I am confused on key column of case table and key time column of nested table by using Time Series algorithm.
In my case, the case table structure is as below:
Territory key text (the ID is actually dimrisk_key, in this case, I use the name column binding to combine the Territory column of case table Dimrisks),
While the nested table structure is as below:
Cal_month key time (in this case, actually the ID is dimdate_key, again, I used name column bining property to bind the Cal_month to the ID)
So my question is, as the key column of case table has been set to be Territory, as a result, does the model training still cover all the cases (rows) based on the ID of the table?
Also, in the nested table, as the key time column has been set to Cal_month rather than Dimdate_key of the nested table, as a result, would the single series based on the cal_month?

I need to take a temporary table that has various times stored in a text field (4:30 pm, 11:00 am, 5:30 pm, etc.), convert it to miltary time then cast it as an integer with an update statement kind of like:
Update myTable set MovieTime = REPLACE(CONVERT(CHAR(5),GETDATE(),108), ':', '')
how this can be done while my temp table is in session?

Hi all,
I have created a report in SSRS 2005 which is being viewed by users from different Time Zones.
I have a dataset which has a field of type datetime (UTC). Now I would like to display this Date according to the User Time Zone.
For example if the date is August 07, 2007 10:00 AM UTC,
then I would like to display it as August 07, 2007 03:30 PM IST if the user Time Zone is IST.
Similarly for other Time Zones it should display the time accordingly.
Is this possible in SSRS 2005?
Any pointers will be usefull...

Dear Experts,

I have two tables, the first table contains the actual time value, and the second table contains the time master. The time master is a dimension table and it has the records of all the date with 1 hour time interval. In other words, the for a given day, there would be 24 rows with one hour time interval. But the ASSP requires a txt file with all domains hosted in the server that are in a SQL Table of the server.
My questions is: Is there anything to make a real time TXT file with all the domains ?

I am trying to build a simple time table and pre-populate the rows for lets say 1 year. Basically, I will be extracting the data froma source based on the boundaries of this table. eg of this table as I can visualize:

Lets call this TimeTable and we have our souce and destination table..The ETL process will pick the start time and endtime, will pass these as parameters to the source and extract the data as follows:
Insert into Destination
select * from source where entrydate>=TimeTable.StartTime and entrydate<TimeTable.EndTime
Once this data gets loaded, the IsProcessed field is set to 1 so that next time it won't be considered.I am trying an incremental load process here.

hi! i'm new to sql and working on my first database, I use microsoft sql server 2000 - in my table i want a row in which date and time is saved whenever the dataset is changed. I use getdate() as default value and it saves the time when I create a new entry, but not yet when I update an old one. I know that it must be a formula with something like update tbl set = getdate() but I don't know exactly how it works. any help on this?

I create back end table on SQL Server and front end in Access. On my sql table I select the datatype as date/time and on the default value on the field I put this one (dateadd(day,datediff(day,0,getdate()),0). When I input the data in to a SQL table and refresh its showing correct as 12/06/2006. But when I checked in access its showing the date data as 2006-12-06 00: but I want to show 12/06/2006. Can you tell what I have to do SQL table default field to come out like 12/06/2006 not 2006-12-06 00:. Thanks and appreciate your comments.

Using an MS A2K front end running on WinXP and ODBC connections to SQLServer 7 on Win 2K server; there are about 10 users who access thefront end via Terminal Server and use the same front end; there areabout another 10 users who run a copy of the db on their local machine.SQL server has 2 databases, with approx. 20 tables between them (oneis for processing ckts from a remote sql server for local use, theother is a site database).There is one user that always has to refresh the same single table eachtime a release of the db is copied to his local machine. Once thetable is refreshed in link manager, the front end is good to go...untilthe the next release is made (about every 2 months--for changes inbusiness rules). We have gone and checked his WINS and DNS settingsand at this point, the only difference between other users and this onewho can't get the table normally, is that he is using a different brandmachine (he uses a toshiba satellite, all others use a ibm thinkpad).Since purchasing a new laptop for him is out of the question, doesanyone have a suggestion for correcting this problem?TIA for the help,EricO.

Hello,
I have created a package that check if a table exist otherwise it drop it, then it creates a new one (both with SSIS execute SQL task).
Then a Flow task run some transformation SSIS to load the table just created.
The problem is that when I run the package an error occur telling me that the table does not exist (if runs for the first time and in this case the table has not created yet).
How can I run a package that create a table and then Load it.

Hi there is there any way in tsql that I can tell when a database/table was last accessed? We have a lot of *** on our servers that need cleaning up.
If it is not possible could I put a trace on the servers that will tell me if any access has occured and run this for a couple of weeks for instance to see if any access has occured?
