Log-in access web-page.When page is accessed a stored procedure is executed that will provide a list of all the RA(Problem -- when a new building is added, this stored procedure must be opened and syntax added)..Results are stored in a drop down list on the page.Create a table holds list of all buildings something similar to this
Create Table [dbo].[BuildingInformation] ( ID INT IDENTITY NOT NULL, BuildingName varchar(50), RAName varchar(50)
[code]....
Alter the stored procedure so that when it is run it will iterate the BuildingInformation table and compare the value in BuildingInformation to the values in the field BuildingName of the view [RA]. If all buildings contained in the table [BuildingInformation] exist in the view [RA] nothing will change. If their are values in the [BuildingInformation] table that do not exist in the view [RA], the view [RA] will be dropped and recreate with a 'Union ALL' for each building in the table
Below is the query in which i want to retrieve another column (exchange rate) from a particular date for the sub query.
Actually PurchaseOrderDet table get records related to purchaseorder but for each row in purchaseorderdet need info from the same table for all rows on a particular date.
how i can achieve this query without using RANK() and other functions.
"SELECT Supplier.Uniid AS SupplierID, Supplier.Name, PurchaseOrder.Uniid AS PurchaseID, PurchaseOrder.OrderNo, PurchaseOrder.FormDate, StockItem.Uniid AS StockID, StockItem.StockCode + N' - ' + StockItem.Description1 AS StockItem, PurchaseOrderDet.ExchangeRate, PurchaseOrderDet.UnitPrice, PurchaseOrderDet.Discount, SUM(PurchaseOrderDet.OrderQty) AS SumOfOrderQty,
I have a table Product2 as the attachment at the bottom. Now i want to create a Column "Purchasing rate" over Product and Region like this. I tried some Code but it gave me still Error.
SELECT a.* FROM Unscheduled_Arrival a INNER JOIN (SELECT Person_ID ,[arrival date] ,[leaving date] ,[unique stay id] ,[area code] FROM Unscheduled_Arrival
[Code] ....
And what I am trying to do is find instances where a person has arrived back at a different area within 7 days of leaving from a planned visit to any other area different from the last. so lets say we had person ID = 1 and they had had 3 planned visits to one area (not equal to area_gh) in the last 4 months but after the 2nd planned trip to the other area, and before the commencement of the 3rd planned trip to any area not equal to area_gh, they had arrived unscheduled to area_gh, and this unplanned visit was within 7 days of leaving the 2nd last planned visit to any area not equal to area_gh.
The query I have shows data from unscheduled arrivals to the area_gh for a person who has also had visits to any area other than area_gh, but each record for unscheduled visits to area_gh duplicates for the amount of times the person has had scheduled visits to any area not equal to area_gh. This is the first problem but is as a result of not having the correct SQL for the refinement of the data.
This refinement requires that I return only the data that relates to the unscheduled arrival that is within 7 days of the last scheduled arrival, not duplicate rows of area_gh visits for all the scheduled arrivals.
Because my data is showing the data I want but the count is related to the scheduled arrivals I think I need to rewrite the query or alter it.
The data is already restricted to a year's worth of data.
I just need to find any instances of unscheduled arrivals (for arrival at area_gh) within 7 days of the end of any scheduled arrival (determined using leaving date) to area equal to area_gh.
There can be any number of scheduled arrivals and any number of unscheduled arrivals for each person. The [unique stay id] is distinct for each visit so person 1 can have 3 stays, all with a different [unique stay id].
I have a query to check the records of job has received after 4pm Monday to Friday and it has completed before 9am next day and also weekend it should be Friday after 4pm and before Monday 10am for particular financial year period. I have my job table which has full date but it doesn't show the date exactly Monday to Friday it shows only as 12-12-2014 like that.
Write a CREATE VIEW statement that defines a view named Invoice Basic that returns three columns: VendorName, InvoiceNumber, and InvoiceTotal. Then, write a SELECT statement that returns all of the columns in the view, sorted by VendorName, where the first letter of the vendor name is N, O, or P.
This is what I have so far,
CREATE VIEW InvoiceBasic AS SELECT VendorName, InvoiceNumber, InvoiceTotal From Vendors JOIN Invoices ON Vendors.VendorID = Invoices.VendorID
I'm trying to create a proc for granting permission for developer, but I tried many times, still couldn't get successful, someone can help me? The original statement is:
I had given one of our developers create view permissions, but he wants to also modify views that are not owned by him, they are owned by dbo.
I ran a profiler trace and determined that when he tries to modify a view using query designer in SQLem or right clicks in SQLem on the view and goes to properties, it is performing a ALTER VIEW. It does the same for dbo in a trace (an ALTER View). He gets a call failed and a permission error that he doesn't have create view permissions, object is owned by dbo, using both methods.
If it is doing an alter view how can I set permissions for that and why does it give a create view error when its really doing an alter view? Very confusing.
I'm using an olap cube in a report (dash board). The last "actual" period should be viewed when the user opens the report. I'm using the MDX tail function for that. Once the report is opened the users want to select another period. Then I want to put period as a parameter. But that is not possible since the parameter check box is no longer available when using a MDX filter expression.
I am wondering if there is such thing as primary key for a view? Assuming, that my view is based on a single table and it's just a subset of columns (some of them renamed) including PK of the table it's based on.
The reason for my question is this - we're using Reverse POCO generator which automatically generates C# Model class and Configuration file for our tables and views. For the view is lists all the columns as a key and therefore I obviously can not use normal way of updating that view. I posted that as an issue here [URL] .... but I am thinking there is no such thing as the "primary key" for a view.
The query used to generate the classes is extremely complex already but may be it can be modified to get the PK ?
SELECT [Extent1].[SchemaName], [Extent1].[Name] AS TableName, [Extent1].[TABLE_TYPE] AS TableType, [UnionAll1].[Ordinal], [UnionAll1].[Name] AS ColumnName, [UnionAll1].[IsNullable], [UnionAll1].[TypeName], ISNULL([UnionAll1].[MaxLength],0) AS MaxLength,
[Code] ......
I made a quick Google search and found this [URL] ....
It sounds as an interesting idea to try although I am not sure it will work with POCO Generator. But I'm going to try it now anyway.
Does anyone the syntax or command to View Stored Procedures with Transact SQL statement. I have tried using the syscomments but there is some information missing.
I have a view that takes 14 mins to return 3000 rows. At some points in the execution plan, there are over 4 million rows. The query for the View has a Distinct, a couple columns are populated by functions, there is a cross join, there is a join on a table with no keys or index, joins on non-key varchar columns and so forth. It looks a bit like this:
SELECT DISTINCT TOP 100 PERCENT N.Id, N.CountyName, N.OperationName, N_LO.Name, N_LO.LastName,N_LO.Address1, N_TO.Name, N_TO.LastName, dbo.fn_Sections(N.Shape, s.Points) AS Sections
[code]...
The DISTINCT is in there to get rid of the extra Bob rows, because Bob has many sizes. I need to keep the multiple sizes on Bob's row, but I don't want multiple rows of Bob. Is there a more efficient way to do that other than using DISTINCT?
Second, word on the street is that functions are best avoided if you are going for speed. I don't see a way to use "FOR XML PATH" outside the function, because I can't get it to work on just one column. So I am looking for a way to produce the multiple values on one row.
We are accessing a database through Linked Servers. That database has a bunch of views. We are able to get a list of columns for our views by querying [syscolumns]. However, how do we find out which of those columns have primary keys?
I have a ms-sql 2012 for this task. I read that running totals / sum over is better supported here.
There are customers with an account where they can insert or withdraw cash. When they insert, the inserted amount will get a date where it expires. After the expiration date, the cash becomes unavailable.
I'm not sure how to design the tables to meet my needs, but this is my best guess. And below is the first problem in the view.
CREATE VIEW dbo.[ikw_custom] AS SELECT * FROM rns_keyword.dbo.ikw_custom
but if I use following command with condition it gives me an error.
if not exists(select * from sysobjects where name ='ikw_custom' and type='V') begin CREATE VIEW dbo.[ikw_custom] AS SELECT * FROM rns_keyword.dbo.ikw_custom end
help will be appriciated. Thanks in advance -Balbir
I am learning how to work with MSSQL here is what I like to do I have a table with URLs like this "www.urls.com" I need to create a view that will insert this "http://" before "www.urls.com" can some please let me know what I need to do Thank you
I'm new to SQL, and developing my first application using SQL 2000 as the back end for my data.
Can anyone tell me if I can create an SQL View from VBA?
I'm trying to create a data view that access various records from a single table, and it has to distribute that data 2 14 different subforms, representing different days in a 2 week period, which is distingiushed by a field called "Day", that is numbered from 1 to 14.
I also have a summary subform that has the weekly summary (days 1 to 7 and 8 to 14) on seperate subforms. In total I have 16 subforms, which actually source from a single table, just split depending on the day in the period.
As I see it now, creating views iis the best way for me to go, but I also have to be able to change the period id on the fly, so I'm think I have to use VBA to generate these views.
Does any of this make sense, and am I on the right track??
hi,if the below query select DISTINCT group_module_menu_info.menulink FROM user_group_role_info,group_role_module_info,group_ module_menu_info where user_group_role_info.userid=user_table.userid and ((group_module_menu_info.moduleid = user_group_role_info.moduleid)OR (user_group_role_info.roleid=group_role_module_inf o.roleid and group_module_menu_info.moduleid = group_role_module_info.moduleid))
Create a view showing every order that was shipped to Spain. Name the destination column "DestinationSpain". Include code that checks if the view already exists. If it does, it should be dropped and re-created.
Use Northwind Go DROP VIEW Spain_Orders Go CREATE VIEW Spain_Orders AS SELECT * FROM Orders WHERE ShipCountry = 'Spain'
this is what I get.
server: Msg 3701, Level 11, State 5, Line 1 Cannot drop the view 'Spain_Orders', because it does not exist in the system catalog.
I know IIf doesn't exist in SQL. However, I am creating a view and want to check the value of a field and if it is 1 the field returns 'This value' if it is 2 then 'That value' , if 3 then 'Another value'.
Hi Gurus,I'm a beginner. Would you please tell me if it's possible to create a viewhaving a calcuated column based on the condition of the column on the sqltable.create view vwImaging ASselectEmpID, LastName, FirstName, EmpTag = 'Act' ifFROM tblPerPayI have a table EMP:SSN (char 9)A view giving a formatted SSN (XXX-XX-XXXX,) a--Message posted via http://www.sqlmonster.com
Hi.I created a simple view with the following statements:CREATE VIEW dbo.VIEW1ASSELECT dbo.VIEW_ALL.ID,dbo.VIEW_ALL.Code,Another.dbo.OTHER_VIEW.Label as SpecialCodeFROM dbo.VIEW_ALL LEFT OUTER JOINAnother.dbo.OTHER_VIEW ON(dbo.VIEW_ALL.Code + '_0') = Another.dbo.OTHER_VIEW.LabelWhen I run :select * from VIEW1 where code = 'abcde',I would get all 10 rows that are of the same data where the code is'abcde'. But what I thought it should return is really just one rowsince the rest of the 9 rows are exactly the same! I know that I canget my result if I useselect DISTINCT * from VIEW1 where code = 'abcde'But, is there any way I could change my SQL statements(CREATE VIEW)above so that I automatically get 1 row instead of 10 rows of exactlythe same value without using DISTINCT?Thank you for any help.
I have a table in my program which going all the invoices, and I want to create a view where I can see the quantity of the products as many times by 1 as the quantity in the invoice:
