Transact SQL :: How To Create A Table Using Stored Procedure
Sep 1, 2015Need creating a stored procedure which creates a table.
View 3 RepliesNeed creating a stored procedure which creates a table.
View 3 RepliesI have 3rd party application implementation I am doing, if I have stored procedure in one database, can it be copied to other database (newly created) on the same server? I will have the name of old and new database when this will be copied. I do need to automate this copy.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a table which has data like shown in below image , I want to get count of case numbers which has responses 123 AND 125 ( case should have both responses), like this I have requirement for other responses, how can I do it in Stored procedure .
View 8 Replies View RelatedI need to use a stored procedure that will create a table. The table name must be passed to the stored procedure.
This is what I have so far, but it does not allow me to run it.
alter procedure dbo.createNewBUtable
(
@BU as varchar(50)
)
as
set nocount on;
create table @BU
(
BUid varchar(50) primary key,
BUinfo varchar(50)
)
In SQL Manager I can right click on a stored procedure, table, etc. and I am presented with a list of options one of which is "Create >". Clicking this I can get a script that will create the respective stored procedure or table and write the create script to the clipboard, a file, or an SQL query window. I want to automate this to essentially selectively "back up" our data base by creating one large script that will create the tables and stored procedures from the database. Is there an API, tool, or library call that I can get access to the code that implements these menu selections?
Thank you.

How to get the Create Script for a table, using SQL Stored Procedure ?Table name is supplied and I want to build the Create script for that table.Pls let me know ASAP.Thanks in Advance.
View 2 Replies View RelatedIn a stored procedure, I am trying to create a table and then read it from within that SP or from another one (nestsed). When I run the below code (simplified version of my real SP), no records are returned even though I know that there is data. The table is created and records are inserted, I just cannot read the records from the SP or one that calls it with an EXEC.
Any ideas? My code is listed below. (When I get this to work, I plan to convert the code to manipulate a temporaty table).
Alter Procedure spWod_rptWoStatusSummary_9
As
BEGIN
CREATE TABLE tblStatusSummary (TckStaffCd_F Char(3), RecType Char(20))
INSERT INTO tblStatusSummary
SELECT TckStaffCd_F, RecType
END
BEGIN
Select * from tblStatusSummary
end

I have a table tblCustomers in a one-to-many relationship with tabletblProducts.What I want to do is to create a stored procudure that returns a listof each customer in tblCustomers but also creates a field showing astring (separated by commas)of each matching record in tblProducts.So the return would look like:CustID Customer ProductList1 Smith Apples, Oranges, Pears2 Jones Pencils, Pens, Paperetc...Instead of:CustID Customer Product1 Smith Apples1 Smith Oranges1 Smith Pears2 Jones Pencils2 Jones Pens2 Jones PaperWhich is what you get with this:SELECT tblCusomers.CustID, tblCusomers.Customer,tblProducts.ProductFROMtblCusomers INNER JOINtblProducts ONtblCustomers.CustID = tblProducts.CustIDI'd appreciate any help!lq
View 6 Replies View RelatedCan anyone tell me how can I create a table in (SQL Server 2000) direct from a stored procedure execution or from a SELECT result?
I need something like this: CREATE TABLE < t > FROM <sp_name p1, p2, ...>or like this:
CREATE TABLE < t > FROM SELECT id, name FROM < w > ...
Thank you!
I have on stored procedure which returns mote than one resultset i want that to store in two different temp table how can achieve this in SQL server.
Following is the stored procedure and table that i need to create.
create procedure GetData as begin select * from Empselect * from Deptend
create table #tmp1 (Ddeptid int, deptname varchar(500),Location varchar(100))
Insert into #tmp1 (Ddeptid , deptname ,Location )
exec GetData
create table #tmp (empid int , ename varchar(500),DeptId int , salary int)
Insert into #tmp (empId,ename,deptId,salary)
exec GetData
Here's my problem:I'm developing an ASP.NET 2.0 application that has a user select one or moreauto manufacturers from a listbox ("lstMakes"). Once they do this, anotherlistbox ("lstModels") should be filled with all matching models made by theselected manufacturers. If lstMakes was not multi-select, I'd have noproblem. But in this case it has to be multi-select. The database is SQLServer 2005 which does not accept arrays as parameters. I've been told thatI have to create an XML document that will act as a filtered Manufacturerstable that I can join to my Models table in my stored procedure. Problem isI don't have the foggiest idea how to do this. I've seen some examples thatjust leave me scratching my head so I was hoping someone could look at whatI'm trying to do and show me how to do this. Thanks!
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a Custom .net assembly which retrieves some data, basically just a set of data containing, ID, value,
I need my stored procedure to return this data as a table.
My question what/how is fastest way to do this, my assembly can return anything you want, a datatable, a hashtable, list of(class) etc..
I have a table (currently with no constraints or relationships) with two columns:
Employee_CodeEarned_Leave_Balance
The leave balance should be updated automatically on a daily basis using a formula. I understand this can be done using stored scheduled procedures. To give you a full and clear picture, this is what I need:
IF [Employee_Code] LIKE 'KUW%'
[Earned_Leave_Balance] = (Today - [Employment_Date]) * (42 / 365)
ELSE
[Earned_Leave_Balance] = (31/12/CurrentYear - [Employment_Date]) * (30 / 335)
convert my table(like picture) to hierarchical structure in SQL. actually i want to make a table from my data in SQL for a TreeList control datasource in VB.net application directly.
ProjectID is 1st Parent
Type_1 is 2nd Parent
Type_2 is 3rd Parent
Type_3 is 4ed Parent
I create a script like below:
GO
SET ANSI_PADDING ON
GO
DECLARE
@ProjectID AS NVARCHAR(128),
@TableName AS NVARCHAR(128);
SET @ProjectID = N'EPA';
[code]....
The table created, but T-SQL created a table called @TableName.not like "EPA_SweetChargeCodeAssignees'
how to debug?
When I right click on a table and click Script Table as --> Create to --> it scripts out:
CREATE TABLE [dbo].[Test](
[FirstName] [varchar](50) NULL,
[LastName] [varchar](50) NULL,
[Address] [varchar](50() NULL
SET ANSI_PADDING OFF
ALTER TABLE [dbo].[Test] ADD [City] [varchar](50) NULL
Why is there an Alter table statement? I’m assuming this table was altered at some point but why is SQL not just doing a create table and how is it keeping track of these changes?
Im trying to insert the values from this query into a table, so I can later check the history of memory usage:
SELECT
[total_physical_memory_kb] / 1024 AS [Total_Physical_Memory_In_MB]
,[available_page_file_kb] / 1024 AS [Available_Physical_Memory_In_MB]
,[total_page_file_kb] / 1024 AS [Total_Page_File_In_MB]
,[available_page_file_kb] / 1024 AS [Available_Page_File_MB]
,[kernel_paged_pool_kb] / 1024 AS [Kernel_Paged_Pool_MB]
,[kernel_nonpaged_pool_kb] / 1024 AS [Kernel_Nonpaged_Pool_MB]
,[system_memory_state_desc] AS [System_Memory_State_Desc]
FROM [master].[sys].[dm_os_sys_memory]
What I'm missing is a way to insert the current timestamp every time I insert to the table.My plan is to use the insert into command.
I use Indexes Fundamentals of Microsoft SQL Server - Lesson 30: Indexes in the website of URL... to learn the basic things of Indexes. In my SQL Server 2012 Management Studio (SSMS2012), I executed the following code..
-- scFTX_CreateTableEmployees.sql
-- saved in C:/Documents/SQLServerIndexes_downloadCode
-- 26 May 2015 10:52 AM
USE ScottChangDB;
GO
CREATE TABLE Employees
[code]....
Where the SCHEMA and the index 'IX_Employees are located in the Object Explorer of the database "ScottChangDB" of my SSMS2012.
How we can get to know what DML action(INSERT,UPDATE,DELETE) is present inside a Stored procedure, and i want to know if we have any specific columns are present in system tables or system related dynamic views which gives this info. I am aware of the SQL profiler, but in my scenario i want to use it through system tables or system related dynamic views.

I pulled some examples of using a subquery pivot to build a temp table, but cannot get it to work.
IF OBJECT_ID('tempdb..#Pyr') IS NOT NULL
DROP TABLE #Pyr
GO
SELECT
vst_int_id,
[4981] AS Primary_Ins,
[4978] AS Secondary_Ins,
[code]....
The problems I am having are with the integer data being used to create temp table fields. The bracketed numbers on line 7-10 give me an invalid column name error each. In the 'FOR', I get another error "Incorrect syntax near 'FOR'. Expecting '(', or '.'.". The first integer in the "IN" gives me an "Incorrect syntax near '[4981]'. Expecting '(' or SELECT". I will post the definitions from another effort below.
CREATE TABLE #Pyr
(
vst_int_idINTEGERNOT NULL,
--ivo_int_idINTEGERNOT NULL,
--cur_pln_int_idINTEGERNULL,
--pyr_seq_noINTEGERNULL,

SQL Server 2008 R2.
I have an Access app. that I am migrating the DB portion (queries, tables) to SQL server. I need to create a temp table that lasts as long as the user has the Access FE app. open. Idea is that the temp table stores the user's parameters (used for filtering data entry forms and report). The parameters allow the app. to only show the user his data (cannot view other users data). The SP shown below works OK, it creates a ##Temp table and updates it with the parameters sent by Access FE app. The issue I am having is that as soon as the SP finishes the ##Temp table is removed. I thought of using a regular table, but, I am currently testing this migration in my local SQL server instance, as soon as I move the database to production environment, then users will not be able to create tables as permissions are only read/write.

how to create rdl using stored procedure which uses parameter

Is there a way to create a stored procedure that accepts a column name and returns the name of the tables that have that column name?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have to create a stored procedure that accepts a column name and returns the name of the tables that have that column name. I'm not sure how to get it to accept the column name. Here's what I have so far:
create proc spTheNameOfTheProcedure
as
select table_name from information_schema.columns
where column_name = XXXXXX
no sure what to put where I have XXXXX
Say i had a system table in that table i had dbo.user then format (dd,mm,yyyy) after that i had dbo.user_backup_ 10_12_2007,dbo.user_backup_ 10_13_2007,dbo.user_backup_ 10_14_2007,dbo.user_backup_ 10_15_2007,dbo.user_backup_ 10_16_2007
If i use the SQL command
SELECT * FROM paychexdb.dbo.sysobjects
WHERE name like 'users_backup_%' AND xtype = 'U'
AND name not in( SELECT Top 3 name FROM paychexdb.dbo.sysobjects
WHERE name like 'users_backup_%' AND xtype = 'U'
ORDER BY Name DESC)
results would be 10_12_2007,10_13_2007.
So i want to put those results in a backup file and keep top 3 which is 10_14,10_15,10_16. I want to create a store procedure that i can execute and do that for all my tables. this stored proc (sp) should first backup the table if it doesn't exist and then delete all but the most recent 3
I am trying to write a stored procedure that generates a PDF file for example my PDF file will look something like this (there should be spaces between the columns):
First Name Last Name Address
Mike Mik Jr 141552 South
Charlie D 1422141
Lets say my table name whichthat has all these data is called dbo.TestTable
I spent so much time in google and I have not found one simple good example. Can you help me please
Thanks in advance for your help
How can I return results from this SP?
Alter
Procedure sp_Blocking
as
SET NOCOUNT
ON
truncate
table blocked
[Code] ....
