I have a table and one of the column have tab delimited value and I need to separate the tab delimited values and keep them in separate rows.
ID Name State Country
1 Scott, Ricky NSW AUS
2 Martin VIC AUS
3 James, Peter,John WA AUS
ID column is not a primary key. I want the output columns to identify the comma (,) and put them in separate rows as below
ID Name State Country
1 Scott NSW AUS
1 Ricky NSW AUS
2 Martin VIC AUS
3 James WA AUS
3 Peter WA AUS
3 John WA AUS

I have a table that is used to build rules. The rules point to other columns in other tables and usually contain only one value (i.e. ABC). But one of the options is to add a comma-separated list of SSNs (i.e. 123123123,012012012,112231122). I am trying to build a single query that allows me to leverage that list to get multiple rows from another table.
This obviously works:
SELECT * FROM vw_Person_Profile P (NOLOCK)
WHERE P.PrsnPIISSN_Chr IN ('123123123','012012012','112231122')
But this does not:
SELECT * FROM vw_Person_Profile P (NOLOCK)
WHERE P.PrsnPIISSN_Chr IN (

I've to write a function to return a comma delimited values from a table columns
If a table has Tab1 ( Col1,Col2,Col3).
E.g. as below ( the columnName content I want to use as columns for my pivot table

I have 3 variables that gets comma separated values. My requirement is to get them into a temporary table with 3 columns and each column should have single value. E.g. if

Can anybody suggest me what is the best way to take a column with comma separated stings and output them into multiple columns with strings?
for example if I have a column with "watertown, newton" as a string, I need to separate them to two columns with watertown and newton values?
Is Derived column transformation the best way to do it?

I am having issues trying to write a query that would provide me the unique GUID numbers associated with a distinct PID if the unique GUID's > 1. To summarize, I need a query that just shows which PID's have more than one unique GUID. A PID could have multiple GUID's that are the same, I'm looking for the PID's that have multiple GUID's that are different/unique.
Table1
GUID PID
GUID1 PID1
GUID1 PID1
GUID1 PID1
GUID2 PID1
GUID3 PID2
GUID3 PID2
GUID3 PID2
The result of the query would only have PID1 because it has two unique GUID's. PID2 would not be listed has it has the same GUID3 in each row.

That may not be the most exact TITLE I have used for a question as CASE may not be the best expression to use but I have a query:

What I want the eventually solution to be is that for each unique/distinct client, reference and sequence there is one record (row). Based on the row_number, I want the first 'AppearanceDate' renamed to 'AppearanceDate1' with the first AppearanceDate as the data and the first Outcome to be renamed 'Outcome1' with the first Outcome as the data. Any subsequent rows would follow as columns:
ClientID ReferenceID
SequenceID AppeareanceDate1
Outcome1 AppearanceDate2
Outcome2

Using Flat File Connection Manager, I am specifying Text Qualifier = Double quotes{"}, and i have TXT file with one column for lastname and first name as "LN,FN", and settings are set to comma delimted, now the connectin manager is creating two different columns for LN and FN,
it was never a problem in DTS 2000.
any work around.

we can easily load a file into db tables. However, my main concern here is the number of columns in the file. A text file TEXT_1400.txt has 1400 columns. I am unable to load data to my db table using BCP or BULK INSERT commands, as maximum of 1024 columns are allowed per table in SQL Server 2008.
We can still go ahead and create ‘Wide Table’ (a special table that holds up to 30,000 columns. The maximum size of a wide table row is 8,019 bytes.). But when operating on wide table, BCP/BULK INSERT commands still fail. After few hours of scratching my head over BCP and BULK INSERT, I observed that while inserting BCP/BULK INSERT commands are unable to identify SPARSE columns and skip these columns, which disturbs column mapping and results in data conversion and trancation errors.
Is there any proper way to load this kind of files into the db table?

I made a select query which shows following output as shown in picture .
Now I want to add one more column in this query to show current bags and Bags in these 2 columns i want to show calculation like in first rows currentbags column (Receivedbags-DeleiveredBags) and in currentWeight column RecivedWeight+loss-gain-Deliverdweight) which is 1400 and 697.5 after that in secound row i want to add frist rows currentbags value+ second rows (Receivedbags-DeleiveredBags) and same in weight like daily stock register so output looked like below image
