I want a query to join all this tables based on EmployeeID, PeriodID and LeaveTypeID sum of LeaveEntitlement.LeaveEntitlementDaysNumber based on LeaveTypeID AS EntitleAnnaul and AS EntitleSick and sum AssignedLeave.AssignedLeaveDaysNumber based on LeaveTypeID AS AssignedAnnaul and AS AssignedSick and subtract EntitleAnnaul from AssignedAnnual based on LeaveTypeID AS AnnualBalance and subtract EntitleSick from AssignedSick based on LeaveTypeID AS SickBalance
and the table should be shown as below after executing the query

I got a sales cost and cost amount table for my budget. the sales cost table is getting updated with FOBB items which makes the total incorrect . the FOBB values needs to be moved from the sales cost column to the cost amount column. how can i do it with an SQL script.

In Transact SQL I need to calculate the difference between the current bottom and the previous top. If there is no previous top, then the result would be the current bottom.
So, the result would be 0, 2, 2.5, 1
I must return the value in a table. Thank you all for your help!

For our ETL process, we maintain a TransformationList table that has the source view and the destination table. Data is copied from the view into the table (INSERT INTO). I am trying to find column names in the Views that are not column names in the associated Table.
In the below example, want to end up with three records:
1, View1, Column4
2, View2, Column4
2, View2, Column5
I have it almost working, except that there is a table, ChangeColPrefix table, that is used by the ETL process to change some of the view's column name prefixes. Some of the source views have column names with prefixes that do not match the destination table column names. Say view SouthBase has all the column names prefixed with SB - like SBAcct, SBName. And the Destination table of Area District has ADAcct, ADName. There would be a row in the ChangeColPrefix for SouthBase, SB, AD, 1, 2 that would be used by the ETL process to create the INSERT INTO Area District From SouthBase.
I need to use this ChangeColPreifx to find my unmatching columns between my source views and destination tables. With out that table SBAcct and SBName from SouthBase will not appear to match the columns of ADAcct and ADName, but they do match.
I want to end up with these three records as non-matching:
View1, Column4
View2, Column4
View2, Column5
View1 has Salumn2 and View2 has Salumn5, and they must be changed to Column2 and Column5 as per the ChangeColPrefix table before running the Select from INFORMATION_SCHEMA.COLUMNS EXCEPT Select from INFORMATION_SCHEMA.COLUMNS looking for unmatched columns.

Is there any way to get the base table/column from a view by supplying the view name/column name_in_view? I know about INFORMATION_SCHEMA.VIEW_COLUMN_USAGE, but it doesn't always work. Try it on a regular database, not pubs. Any help is appreciated!

At present I have a logic implemented like below code example where I can get a combination of columns cid and ani in 'config' table to which I have to map columns cid and ani present in my 'current' table.
Now, a new column pid is added to both 'config' and 'current' tables, like
alter table config add pid integer
alter table current add pid integer
Now I can have data in a combination of cid and ani (where pid can be NULL) or cid and pid (where ani can be NULL) or a row where all cid, ani and pid can have values. In this scenario, how should I make the changes in the current implementation given below?

I have two tables. They both have an identity field to join them together. One of the tables has a column of data that I want to put in the other table. I need to make sure the data is brought over using the join so it updates that column for the right record.
I am struggling with this. Should I use a update or an insert? I'm leaning toward update but I can't figure out how with the join.
This is what I have tried so far:

I am having issues trying to write a query that would provide me the unique GUID numbers associated with a distinct PID if the unique GUID's > 1. To summarize, I need a query that just shows which PID's have more than one unique GUID. A PID could have multiple GUID's that are the same, I'm looking for the PID's that have multiple GUID's that are different/unique.

The result of the query would only have PID1 because it has two unique GUID's. PID2 would not be listed has it has the same GUID3 in each row.

I have two tables, one is called (questions), the second one (answers).
questions columns are (ID,questionTitle)
answers columns are (ID,questionID,answer, answerDate)
I use this query to load data: "SELECT q.questionTitle,COUNT (a.ID),a.answerDate FROM questions q LEFT JOIN answers a ON q.ID=a.questionID" the query is easy, but my problem which I can't solve is how can I fetch the data ordered by the column answerDate, I mean I want the first record to be the one which has the most recent answer and so on.

How I can calculate the 'SUM of 100' of EDSUM column for EDCOST column. Every EDCOST should have sum of 100 on the calculation of EDSUM. I just want to know which is the EDCOST which has <>sum of 100.

I'm creating a sql stored procedure inside this proc it returns some information about the user, i.e location, logged in, last logged in, etc I need to join this on to the photos table and return the photo which has been set as the profile picture, if it hasn't been set then return the first top 1 if that makes sense?
The user has the option to upload photos so there might be no photos for a particular user, which I believe I can fix by using a left join
My photos table is constructed as follows:

Currently as it stands the proc runs but it doesn't return a particular user because they have uploaded a photo so I need to some how tweak the above to return null if a photo isn't present which is where I'm stuck.

My question is, how are you supposed toknow which "Id" column belongs to which table? My intuition tells me,and limited testing seems to indicate, that it depends on the order inwhich the table names show up in the query, so that in the aboveexample, "Id" would refer to Employees.Id, while "Id1" would refer toEmployers.Id. Is this order guaranteed?Also, why does SQL Server use such a IMO brain-damaged technique tohandle column name conflicts? I upload data from a Txt File(Txt_Temp) where I have VinNumber with 6 digits. Another table name Resrve_Temp1 where I have Vinumber with 17 digit. Now I need to update the vinnumber 6 digit to 17 digit or to new column in Txt_temp.

I am having two table i.e( tbl_oldEmployee , tbl_NewEmployee ),which is having Column name Employee Name and City same in both table but inside column data is different in different table.but i want to view the Employee name and City from tbl_NewEmployee to tbl_oldEmployee which is having EmployeeId common with tbl_oldEmployee extra record also required (i.e tbl_NewEmployee having 6 record and tbl_oldEmployee having 10 record,so i need to display data from tbl_oldEmployee but first 6 record which id match with tbl_NewEmployee id should be replaced and extra data from tbl_oldEmployee also display).

As I understood, if SPARSE is used on a column, which have many NULL marks, then the storage could be efficently used (we need less spaces to save NULL marks, hence a table which has many NULL marks with SPARSE property needs less storage than the same table, but without SPARSE. I created two table as follow:

That means the Table with SPARSE column need more storage, Why?
By the way, in table Sprstb column address has 1666198 Null mark (from 5000000)
