SQL express 2012. I am trying to case in the where part and having a syntax errors - This is what i am trying to do:
select all the days in week number x including last year if necessary... so if the year start not at the beginning of the week then look in last year as well ( for the same week number of this year and last week nu of last year)
declare @yyyy int = 2014,-- THE YEAR @mm int = 1,-- THE MONTH @week1No int = 1,-- THE WEEK NUMBER IN THE YEAR @week2No int = 37-- THE last WEEK NUMBER IN last YEAR select count(tblDay.start)-- tblDay.start IS smallDatetime

I need to associate aggregate gross_revenue with calendar year, but do not have a date field that reflects payment dates, just contract periods a start_date and an end_date. The contract periods are typically 1 or 2 years and can start at any time I.e start_date 6/1/2012, end date 5/31/13. I think by finding the number of days that fall in each calendar year and storing in a temp table, I can create a simple formula to associate revenue to each year.
select a.RelocateID,a.DateEntered,a.CompanyID,b.FileClose dDate from test1 a inner join test b on (a.RelocateID = b.RelocateID) where CompanyID ='5710' and DateEntered >= '01/01/2004' and convert(varchar,FileClosedDate,101) < '31/12/2004'
Hi I was wondering if somebody could help me alter this query so I an calulate the difference in days in between DateEntered and FileClosedDate having the above criteria. I can't seem to be able to get the datediff function right in this particular example
Our fiscal year starts on July 1st. Each month they call a period - so July is period 1, August is period 2, etc.
They are wanting a report that pulls numbers for a given period. There are parameters for them to select the fiscal year and the fiscal period, and then it calculates the numbers for that period. That part works fine.
Now they want me to do some calculations, and one of them is to divide one of the numbers by the # of days since the fiscal year. So if they choose July, it would be 31 days. If they choose August, it would be 61 days, etc. How can I set this up to calculate the number of days when they really aren't entering a start date, it's just a fiscal year and period.
Is there a way to calculate a date field that is 07/01/xxxx where xxxx is the fiscal year they chose? Also a way to calculate a date field that would be the last date of the month for the fiscal period and year they chose?
I suppose I could add 2 other parameters where they enter the start of the current fiscal year, and the last day of the period they're running it for, and use a datediff to calculate that. Just seems kind of redundant.
I am trying to determine the amount of days in a month to prorate a month end estimate. We measure service calls and need to approximate how many we will have at month end. I would like to automate a query to post on our web and need to know how many days are in the current month.
A possible solution would be to piece together a datetime variable using getdate and dateadd then use a datepart. However , I don't know how to create a datetime variable this way.
Hi and Thank you in advance I am trying to find a away to calculate the number of business days between two dates. In other word, I do not want to count Saturday nor Sundays if those days are between the two dates. Example if Date1 = 11/26/1999 Date2 = 11/30/1999
the DateDiff(dd,Date1,Date2) the result should be 2 I need to do this against a table which might not have a lot of records, but I also need to not count Holidays if they fall within the two Dates. Thank you in advance Tomas

i have a table with customer number, arrival and departure days and days difference between them. i need to find out the total number of days from first arrival day to last departure day if departure and next arrival days are same. for example, for customer Number, 1120, departure date and next arrival days are same, so the total number of days of stay is, 28+28+42+42. how to find out this total suing SQL.
I am looking for a formula to calculate the number of weekdays/business days between two dates in power pivot.I do the same in SQl using the following query
DATEDIFF(dd, Date1, GETDATE()) - (DATEDIFF(wk, Date1, GETDATE()) * 2) - CASE WHEN DATEPART(dw, Date1) = 1 THEN 1 ELSE 0 END + CASE WHEN DATEPART(dw, GETDATE()) = 1 THEN 1 ELSE 0 END END
I have a column which stores a set of dates. I want to tell how many days left of a date till it’s month end. It should be noted that month ends are taken from the date series, not a calendar month end.
I am new to sql server query. I am trying to write a query for an application and I want user to enter number of over due days for payment.Below is my query and I am getting an error: An expression of non-boolean type specified in a context where a condition is expected, near 'Group'.
SELECT (P.FirstName+', '+P.LastName) As PA, Px.PRespDate,Px.DateFrom WHERE Px.Hide = 0 AND Px.Total <> Px.Payments AND Px.PRespDate IS NOT NULL AND PE.Hide = 0 AND PE.BillReady = 1 AND DATEDIFF(DAY, Px.DateFrom, PRespDate) LIKE 'Enter # of days |%% ' Group By (P.FirstName+', '+P.LastName), Px.PRespDate,Px.DateFrom
user data saved in db select distinct UserID,Name from Userss Where IsActive=1 and order by UserID and i want to just calculate no of days in month based on year and month name supplied by user. one way i can do it. first i will create a temporary table and in loop add many columns to that table and later dump user data to specific column.
We have a stored procedure which currently accepts the following parameter: exec dbo.PurgeOldData <'yyyy-mm-dd'...We want to schedule this sp to run once a (first day of the month) going back to say today's date (or the date when this sp is called to run) minus 365 or purging 12 months data. Basically, the function should convert the today's date minus xxx number of days to yyyy-mm-dd so that the sp accept it as the correct parameter and purges the data successfully. So, if the sp is run on 2015-08-06, it will purge data going back to 2014-08-06 or earlier with the following parameter:
exec dbo.PurgeOldData <'2014-08-06'>
which means, all the data prior to the above date will be purged. Even the sp was run on 2015-08-06, the converted value of 2014-08-06' is entered as the sp parameter.
I'm trying to generate this query, that displays Budget Current Year , Actual Current Year and Prior Year Revenue. When It comes to the Budget and Actual everything works fine, however when I try to add the query for the Prior Year I get an error, and I realized that the leap date is causing the error
Here is what I'm trying to generate

I haven't a clue how to accomplish this.All the data is in one table. The data is stored by registration dateand includes county and number of students brokne out by grade.Any help appreciated!Rob
If I just use a simple select statement, I find that I have 8286 records within a specified date range.
If I use the select statement to pull records that were created from 5pm and later and then add it to another select statement with records created before 5pm, I get a different count: 7521 + 756 = 8277
Is there something I am doing incorrectly in the following sql?
DECLARE @startdate date = '03-06-2015' DECLARE @enddate date = '10-31-2015' DECLARE @afterTime time = '17:00' SELECT General_Count = (SELECT COUNT(*) as General FROM Unidata.CrumsTicket ct
I'm working with a table called SALFLDGAMS where it has two columns that I need to work with. One of the columns is Period which has years from 2000 to 2005 and the other column is called amount which has the balance for that year. Let me explain in a little more detail. There are account codes associated with the years as well so there will be many places where for example the year 2000 will show up with a given value. What I'm trying to do is to create a view which has a BeginBalance column which adds lets say all the values for 2000 and sticks them to 2001. So what I'm saying is all the values from the previous year I want them in the current year. All in one column. Thanks for the help guys.
I need to find the missing months in a table for the earliest and latest start dates per ID_No. As an example:
create table #InputTable (ID_No int ,OccurMonth datetime) insert into #InputTable (ID_No,OccurMonth) select 10, '2007-11-01' Union all select 10, '2007-12-01' Union all select 10, '2008-01-01' Union all select 20, '2009-01-01' Union all select 20, '2009-02-01' Union all select 20, '2009-04-01' Union all select 30, '2010-05-01' Union all select 30, '2010-08-01' Union all select 30, '2010-09-01' Union all select 40, '2008-03-01'
Hi there, is that any function in ms sql server 2000 where if i pass a date or a year then it could gives me the total days of year from the parameter? in mySQL got select DAYOFYEAR(date);
can some one guide me on this please...i need to use it for a leap year function for my SP!
Hi, I'm wanting to generate a list of all the days that fall between a certain period of time (month, year etc.), but can't find any documentation on how to do this, does anybody know the sql query to do so? TIA!
I have a table with 3 fields: Contract_No, Start_Date, End_Date. I need to calculate how many of the days between the Start and End dates fall within each financial year (FY) beginning 1st April and ending 31st March.
So for example if the Contract Start_Date is 26/01/2012 and the End_Date is 20/05/2012 or is null then the number of days for 2012 FY is 49 (counting from 01/04/2012 to 20/05/2012).
If the End_Date is null for the same contract, then the number of days for 2012 FY would be 365.
Since the contract period from Start_Date to End_Date might span more than one or even several FY I need to be able to show this in columns seperately for each FY. What is the best way of achieving this?
I have to calculate the total working hours between days, there hours must get automatically round off to nearest value example:
Date :12-05-2013 time : 4:15 will change to 4.00 and if Date :13-05-2013 time: 4:25 then needs to 4.30 and sum the above total hours and results Total : 8.30 hrs.
