Transact SQL :: Create Table With Timestamp Column
Jul 2, 2015
Im trying to insert the values from this query into a table, so I can later check the history of memory usage:
SELECT
[total_physical_memory_kb] / 1024 AS [Total_Physical_Memory_In_MB]
,[available_page_file_kb] / 1024 AS [Available_Physical_Memory_In_MB]
,[total_page_file_kb] / 1024 AS [Total_Page_File_In_MB]
,[available_page_file_kb] / 1024 AS [Available_Page_File_MB]
,[kernel_paged_pool_kb] / 1024 AS [Kernel_Paged_Pool_MB]
,[kernel_nonpaged_pool_kb] / 1024 AS [Kernel_Nonpaged_Pool_MB]
,[system_memory_state_desc] AS [System_Memory_State_Desc]
FROM [master].[sys].[dm_os_sys_memory]
What I'm missing is a way to insert the current timestamp every time I insert to the table. My plan is to use the insert into command.
How to get the details of a stored proc or sql query which updated a particular table for specified time stamp or interval. Is there any query to get this?
I have been provided with a table where one of the columns is of TimeStamp data type. My question is how to insert and update data in this column through my SQL Statement? When I run my SQL statement, it gives me an error with this column name in the error.
I have a data with mutliple esn but different auditdate and opid. I will pull this data filtering by date and opid. My requirements is not to include the opid = 51 but need to get the desired opdesc for this esn that contains opid=51.
See below sample ddl and desired result. I dont want do include the opid = 51 because it will create a duplicate in transaction instead retain the opid 5
example: esn T9000000000019829505 has multiple rows with different auditdate and opid. retain the records for opid is equal to 5 but get the opdesc for opid is equal 51.
reate table #test (esn nvarchar(35), dateaudit datetime, opid int) insert into #test(esn,dateaudit, opid)values('352452060499834','2015-05-12 20:32:39.490',5) insert into #test(esn,dateaudit, opid)values('352452060499834','2015-07-06 17:35:14.210',5) insert into #test(esn,dateaudit, opid)values('T9000000000019829505','2015-01-14 15:18:45.620',5)
This is my syntax, but it keeps presenting an error of 'Invalid Column name Last Resort
Select fb.foo, fb.man, cz.choo, 'Hi' As [Last Result] From foobar As fb Inner Join chezter As cz On fb.username = cz.username and [fb].[Last Result] = [cz].[Last Result]
For example,I have a table "authors" with a column "author_name",and it has three value "Anne Ringer,Ann Dull,Johnson White".Here I want to create a new table by using a select sentence, its columns come from the values of the column "author_name".
can you tell me how can I complete this with the SQL?
I'm wanting to create reports in SSDT 2012 which is connected to a 2008R2 database. I want to have parameters on for my reports where a user is able to select a year such as 2014. Unfortunate my table containing the data has two columns with a date value. the first is of the int type and contains an epoch formatted date. The second is a varchar type and shows the date as 2015-07-01 08:00:00. I would like to be able to write a query to return the year, monthnumber and daynumber from either of these columns.
convert my table(like picture) to hierarchical structure in SQL. actually i want to make a table from my data in SQL for a TreeList control datasource in VB.net application directly.
ProjectID is 1st Parent Type_1 is 2nd Parent Type_2 is 3rd Parent Type_3 is 4ed Parent
I want a query to join all this tables based on EmployeeID, PeriodID and LeaveTypeID sum of LeaveEntitlement.LeaveEntitlementDaysNumber based on LeaveTypeID AS EntitleAnnaul and AS EntitleSick and sum AssignedLeave.AssignedLeaveDaysNumber based on LeaveTypeID AS AssignedAnnaul and AS AssignedSick and subtract EntitleAnnaul from AssignedAnnual based on LeaveTypeID AS AnnualBalance and subtract EntitleSick from AssignedSick based on LeaveTypeID AS SickBalance
and the table should be shown as below after executing the query
Is there a way we can get Table and Column name in separate column using PIVOT or something?Right now what i have is:
Text QueryPlan Plan_handle Name Value
select id,name,Address from person <showPlznXML... 010101 Table Person select id,name,Address from person <showPlznXML... 010101 column id select id,name,Address from person <showPlznXML... 010101 Table Person
When I right click on a table and click Script Table as --> Create to --> it scripts out:
CREATE TABLE [dbo].[Test]( [FirstName] [varchar](50) NULL, [LastName] [varchar](50) NULL, [Address] [varchar](50() NULL SET ANSI_PADDING OFF ALTER TABLE [dbo].[Test] ADD [City] [varchar](50) NULL
Why is there an Alter table statement? I’m assuming this table was altered at some point but why is SQL not just doing a create table and how is it keeping track of these changes?
I want to use time series algorithm to mine data from my case table and nested table. Case table is Date table, while nested table is the fact table. E.g, I want to predict the monthly sales amount for different region (I have region table related to the fact table), how can I achieve this?
Thanks a lot and I hope it is clear for your help and I am looking forward to hearing from you shortly.
I use Indexes Fundamentals of Microsoft SQL Server - Lesson 30: Indexes in the website of URL... to learn the basic things of Indexes. In my SQL Server 2012 Management Studio (SSMS2012), I executed the following code..
-- scFTX_CreateTableEmployees.sql -- saved in C:/Documents/SQLServerIndexes_downloadCode -- 26 May 2015 10:52 AM USE ScottChangDB; GO CREATE TABLE Employees
[code]....
Where the SCHEMA and the index 'IX_Employees are located in the Object Explorer of the database "ScottChangDB" of my SSMS2012.
For starters, please feel free to move this if it is in the wrong forum.
The issue I have is this. I have been asked to delete all information from a table that was inserted before May 12 this year. The issue is that when the DB was created, whoever designedd it neglected to add a timestamp column for the user data table (the one I need to purge). Does SQL, by default, happen to store insert times? Would it be something that might hide ina log file somewhere?
I need to delete records from a table (Table1) which has a foreign key column in a related table (Table2).
Table1 columns are: table1Id; Name. Table2 columns include Table2.table1Id which is the foreign key to Table1.
What is the syntax to delete records from Table1 using Table1.Name='some name' and remove any records in Table2 that have Table2.table1Id equal to Table1.table1Id?
So What I am trying to accomplish is sum up overlapping time ranges while also keeping Unique data rows within the table. So If a data row is unique meaning it is NOT within a overlapping group of data rows then I want to just insert it into a "final table", but if the data rows are overlapping then I want to grab the min(timestart) and the max(timestop) and the PKID of the data row with the max(timestop) within the overlapping group.
I accomplish this task using nested cursors, however When I place my method into a trigger which runs on INSERT, then my trigger never runs and nothing happens. Is there a way to accomplish this without using cursors. I have placed my cursor method into the sql fiddle to be inspected.
create table temp1 ( pkid int, line int, dateentry date, timestart time, timestop time )
I have a datetime stamp and I want to round off the the time to 11:00 if the timestamp is between 5AM and 5PM. If it is beyond then round off to 23:00. I don't use date I only use timestamp in my query so I just want to round off the timestamp. Is there is function to do that.
I have column which has timestamp datatype.in this column inserting date in encrypt format.
I want insert date format into that column. If it is not possible to insert date format while fetching (through select statement) want to decrypt format ( I mean date format).
I pulled some examples of using a subquery pivot to build a temp table, but cannot get it to work.
IF OBJECT_ID('tempdb..#Pyr') IS NOT NULL DROP TABLE #Pyr GO SELECT vst_int_id, [4981] AS Primary_Ins, [4978] AS Secondary_Ins,
[code]....
The problems I am having are with the integer data being used to create temp table fields. The bracketed numbers on line 7-10 give me an invalid column name error each. In the 'FOR', I get another error "Incorrect syntax near 'FOR'. Expecting '(', or '.'.". The first integer in the "IN" gives me an "Incorrect syntax near '[4981]'. Expecting '(' or SELECT". I will post the definitions from another effort below.
I have an Access app. that I am migrating the DB portion (queries, tables) to SQL server. I need to create a temp table that lasts as long as the user has the Access FE app. open. Idea is that the temp table stores the user's parameters (used for filtering data entry forms and report). The parameters allow the app. to only show the user his data (cannot view other users data). The SP shown below works OK, it creates a ##Temp table and updates it with the parameters sent by Access FE app. The issue I am having is that as soon as the SP finishes the ##Temp table is removed. I thought of using a regular table, but, I am currently testing this migration in my local SQL server instance, as soon as I move the database to production environment, then users will not be able to create tables as permissions are only read/write.
USE [Work_Allocation] GO /****** Object: StoredProcedure [dbo].[spUser_Parameters_update] Script Date: 9/30/2015 12:27:42 PM ******/ SET ANSI_NULLS ON GO SET QUOTED_IDENTIFIER ON GO ALTER PROCEDURE [dbo].[spUser_Parameters_update]
SELECT '1' AS Join_Field, T1.ID AS T1_ID, T2.ID AS T2_ID, T1.TimeStamp AS T1_Timestamp, T2.TimeStamp AS T2_Timestamp, DATEDIFF(Minute, T1.TimeStamp, T2.TimeStamp) AS Difference_Mins, T1.eventid, T1.shiftID, T1.Value, SD.Shift_Start_Date, T1.StopCode, T1.Status, T1.JobID, T1.StatusDesc, T1.StopDesc, T1.MachineID, CAST(CASE WHEN CONVERT(date, T1.TimeStamp, 103) < CONVERT(date, SD.Shift_Start_Date, 103) THEN 1 ELSE 0 END AS int) AS flag, CAST(T1.TimeStamp as DATE) AS TS_Date FROM PolReporting.Event_M2_T1 AS T1 INNER JOIN PolReporting.Event_M2_T2 AS T2 ON T1.RowID = T2.RowID INNER JOIN Intouch.ShiftDates_Grouped AS SD ON T1.shiftID = SD.ShiftID
I want to create index for hash table (#TEMPJOIN2) to reduce the update query run time. But I am getting "Warning!
The maximum key length is 900 bytes. The index 'R5IDX_TMP' has maximum length of 1013 bytes. For some combination of large values, the insert/update operation will fail". What is the right way to create index on temporary table.
Update query is running(without index) for 6 hours 30 minutes. My aim to reduce the run time by creating index.
And also I am not sure, whether creating index in more columns will create issue or not.
Attached the update query and index query.
CREATE NONCLUSTERED INDEX [R5IDX_TMP] ON #TEMPJOIN2 ( [PART] ASC, [ORG] ASC, [SPLRNAME] ASC, [REPITEM] ASC, [RFQ] ASC,
I have two tables, one is called (questions), the second one (answers).
questions columns are (ID,questionTitle)
answers columns are (ID,questionID,answer, answerDate)
I use this query to load data: "SELECT q.questionTitle,COUNT (a.ID),a.answerDate FROM questions q LEFT JOIN answers a ON q.ID=a.questionID" the query is easy, but my problem which I can't solve is how can I fetch the data ordered by the column answerDate, I mean I want the first record to be the one which has the most recent answer and so on.
