3,4 are the rows i have inserted now , you can see by date, likewise i have 100,000 rows(old and new combination) and now the data from excel to TableA can be imported/exported daily , hourly, weekly basis.
Now i want to find out only the rows which are imported to tableA today, or hours back, or yesterday .....
the reason is ,
Step1:get data from excel and import to tableA( this is a manual Step) and i know when the data is inserted with exact date and time.
Step2: get newly inserted rows from TableA and pass them as Parameters in Stored Procedure.( i may run step 2 after 1 hour, or after 1 day or after 1 week ,but i want only rows that are inserted )
I tried with using where Datecreated, but did work.
I am using SQL Express database and where can I set the default value to my Data field to auto insert the current date-time value? I tried to find the setting but can't seem to find it. Any help is much appriciated. Thanks in advance.
Rajesh writes "Hi I have a table. I need to see the newly inserted row on the day. i.e. newly inserted data alone. I dont have any date field in the table."
I am using Visual Web Developer 2005 Express Edition, ASP.NET 2.0 and SQL Server 2005 Express Edition.I'm using a DetailsView control with the default set to "Insert". (DetailsView1)I'm using a table adapter for the datasource. (ordersDS) I have a table with the first column as an identity integer. When using the DetailsView control (default is set to insert) and I click the insert button to insert a new record, how can I get the identity integers value of the newly inserted record?? Thank you in advance
Greetings all, I am tring to capture the ID of a newly inserted record from a form to a label that I will reference in a reciept page. I intend to pass the rowid to retrieve record information on other pages. The insert suceeds... I just need to capture the auto generated ID for the new row to a label on the page post onclick. Any thoughts?

As you can I have a uniqueidentifier (UniqueId) column which I populate with NewID() I'm trying to return this as I need it for other functionality of the website but I can't figure out how I can get it after the insert has completed?
I have questions and answers from one table, I need to select questions as column names and answers column values as the results for the questions column.
I want to populate a datetime column on the fly within a stored procedure. Below is the query that I currently have that does same but slows down query performance.
CREATE TABLE #TaxVal ( ID INT , PaidDate DATETIME , CustID INT , CompID INT
[code]...
Which is the best way to write this query for better performance?
I am having issues trying to write a query that would provide me the unique GUID numbers associated with a distinct PID if the unique GUID's > 1. To summarize, I need a query that just shows which PID's have more than one unique GUID. A PID could have multiple GUID's that are the same, I'm looking for the PID's that have multiple GUID's that are different/unique.
G'day, I have a datetime column that holds dates and times like 30/06/2005 1:31:00 PM How would I find all rows that match a certain date regardless of the time, (IE, select all rows with a date of 30/06/2005 with any time)
I need to set only the date part of tblEventStaffRequired.StartTime to tblEvents.EventDate while maintaining the time part in tblEventStaffRequired.StartTime.
UPDATE tblEventStaffRequired SET StartTime = <expression here> FROM tblEvents INNER JOIN tblEventStaffRequired ON tblEvents.ID = tblEventStaffRequired.EventID
I just need the date, hour, and minute...not the micro seconds. Do I have to DATEPART and concatenate each or is there any way to simply truncate the milliseconds from it? Or is there a date format to put extract and report on it as...
I am trying to ETL from excel source to SQL table. When I created the package my excel had certain number of rows. Later if I add (append) few more rows in the spreadsheet ... the ssis package (also in excel source preview) not reading the newly added rows. Suprisingly it is reading new rows if they are inserted in between existing rows.

I have the table below and like to combine the rows to create a single link row in a new column. The rows should be combined based on the job number columns which is the same for the rows to be combined.
DECLARE @M31 ( M31_SQL_ID INT ,JOB_NUMBER INT ,LINE_NUMBER INT ,WORKS_DESC VARCHAR)
[Code] ...
Output should be as below
219242 16/7/15 called tenant and she thought we would just fix for free - advised her I can get a quote how ever she may have to pay - she will call back
219245 16/7/15 called tnt said no report number. Said she will speak with her husband and call back with her decision and 16/07/15 the work order was sent to agent ...
How can I write it in SQL? I have a table that column A has two values of Product and Cost...Where value of A is Product, I have to add 6 more rows, and add column b with values from 1 to 7 for each rows ( counter)Where value of A is Cost, I have to add 4 more rows, and add column b with values from 1 to 5 for each rows ( counter).
I am trying to compare Sales value of year 2015 with sales value of 2016 and the difference stored in alias column as Sales_growth for year 2016 , for year 2015 the alias column be as '1' similarly difference between margin of 2015 and 2016 and result stored in alias column as margin_rate in year 2016for 2015 as 1 but when there is no record for year 2015 and record present in 2016 for a given (month, SM,SG,CUST,SP) then the alias column sales_growth and margin_rate should be 100
last record : as there is no record for year 2015 and record present in 2016 for a given (month, SM,SG,CUST,SP) then the alias column sales_growth and margin_rate should be 100
I am writing a query where I am identifying different scenarios where data changes between one week and the next. I've set up my result set in the following manner:
PrimaryID Field Changed Previous Value New Value 10003 SKUName SKU12345 SKU56789 10003 LocationId Den123 NYC987 etc...
The key here being that in the initial resultset ID 10003 is represented by one row but indicates two changes, and in the final output those two changes are being represented by two distinct rows. Obviously, I will bring in the previous and new values from a source.
I'm doing a data migration job from our old to our new database. The idea is that we don't want to clutter our new tables with the id's of the old tables, so we are not going to add a column "old_system_id" in each and every table that needs to be migrated.
I have created a number of tables in a separate schema "dm" (for Data Migration) that will store the link between the old database table and the new database table. Suppose that the id of a migrated record in the old database is 'XRP002-89' and during the insert into the new table the IDENTITY column id gets the value 1, the link table will hold : old_d = 'XRP002-89', new_id = 1, and so on.
I knew I can get the value of IDENTITY columns with the OUTPUT INTO clause, although I have never actually used it. And now I can't get it to do what I need.
Below is some code to set up three tables: the old table, the new one, and the table that will hold the link between the id's of records in the old database table and the new database table.
Below I tried to use the OUTPUT INSERTED INTO clause. Beside getting the generated IDENTITY value, I also need to capture the value of the old id that will not be migrated to the new table. When I use "OUTPUT DaOldTable.pk" the system gives me the error: "The multi-part identifier "DaOldTable.pk" could not be bound." Using INSERTED .id gives no problem.
Code: INSERT INTO DaNewTable(a_column) --OUTPUT DaOldTable.pk, INSERTED.id link_old2new_DaTable--(DaOld_id, DaNew_id) SELECT a_column FROM DaOldTable
[Code] ...
--but getting "The multi-part identifier "DaOldTable.pk" could not be bound."
DROP TABLE DaOldTable DROP TABLE DaNewTable DROP TABLE link_old2new_DaTable
How can I populate a table that must hold the link between the id's of records in the old database table and the new database table? The records are migrated with set-based inserts.
SELECT Column_1, Column_2, Column_3, 10*Column_1 AS Column_4, 10*Column_2 AS Column_5, -- I am not being able to understand how to do this particular step Column_1*Column_5 As Column_6 FROM Table_1
First 3 Columns are available within the Original Table_1 The Column_4 and Column_5 have been created by me, by doing some Calculations related to the original columns.
Now, when I try to do FURTHER CALCULATION on these newly created columns, then SQL Server does not allows that.
I was hoping that I will be able to use the Newly Created Columns 4 and 5 within this same query to do further more calculations, but that does not seems to be the case, or am I doing something wrong here ?
If I have to create a new column by the name of Column_6, which is actually a multiplication of Original Column_1 and Newly Created Column_5 "I tried this - Column_1*Column_5 As Column_6", then what is the possible solution for me ?
I have tried to present my problem in the simplest possible manner. The actual query has many original columns from Table_1 and many Calculated columns that are created by me.And now I have to do various calculations that involve making use of both these type of columns.

It just takes a LOT of time in SQL Server Management studio. I have to cancel the query and cancelling takes a whole lot time. I am using SQL Server 2008.
