Transact SQL :: Making Hours Into Months And Days In 2008 R2?
Aug 5, 2015I have hours which can be like 32.5 and would like to have them in 1 month 2 Days format.
View 2 RepliesI have hours which can be like 32.5 and would like to have them in 1 month 2 Days format.
View 2 RepliesI get a column in hours in a table and when I try to convert it to months and days its giving me incorrect results.
My timehours column in my table has hours recorded timehours value is 5832 and I get results as 11 months and 27 days.
This query is giving me wrong result -select months=(timehours %365)/30,days= (timehours % 365)%30
This code displays records by the the month they where recorded and displays the months as names (January...)
How can I do the Same for Days (Mon, Tues) and Hours (9.00,10.00)
Select DATENAME(mm,dDate) as Month, count(iStatID) as Total_Po
from ListingStats
Group by DATENAME(mm,dDate)
Order by DATENAME(mm,dDate)
I want to display Days Hours Mins Format.
I am Having two columns Like below,
Col1 (in days) col2 (In Hours : Mins)
3days 4:5
In this first have to add Col1 and Col2 (Here one day is equals to 9 hours ) so the addition is 31.5
From this 31.5 I should display 3 Days 4 Hours 30 Mins because 31.5 contains 3 (9 hours) days 4 Hours and .5 is equals to 30 mins.
declare @siva1 datetime;
declare @siva2 datetime;
set @siva1='2014-03-10 05:02:11'
set @siva2='2014-03-12 23:52:11'
i want output like this 2.18 means 2day 18hours difference how using query
How do i take full backup of last 20 days transactions, and i can use that backup to restore those 20 days transactions.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI have two field and I need to find the sum I guess of them. One is called the clm_dout (process date) and the other one is clm_rcvd (received Date). These are both date and time fields and it looks like this 2006-03-17 00:00:00.000. I need to create a formula that wiil i guess give me the difference and create it into hour and minutes because I an trying to create a turn around report. this is what I had...
TimeValue({clm_doubt}-{clm_rcvd})
This is not working for me. Can someone give me a suggestion please.
Thanks!
Hi Guys,
I have data in minutes which is integer value ex 14454.I wanto convert it to days,hours,minutes & seconds.
Is there any simple way?
Regards.
I have to calculate the total working hours between days, there hours must get automatically round off to nearest value example:
Date :12-05-2013 time : 4:15 will change to 4.00 and if Date :13-05-2013 time: 4:25 then needs to 4.30 and sum the above total hours and results Total : 8.30 hrs.
I have written a function that returns the number of Days, Hours and minutes from a given number of minutes. On testinf the results are close but not quite there. Can anyone see where I have gone wrong or is there an easier way of doing this? Code is as follows:
CREATE FUNCTION dbo.GetTimeBetweenLong
(@StartTime DateTime, @EndTime DateTime, @CurrentDate DateTime)
RETURNS VarChar(50) AS
BEGIN
DECLARE @TotalTime Numeric
DECLARE @Minutes Numeric
DECLARE @Hours Numeric
DECLARE @Days Numeric
DECLARE @MinutesInDays Numeric
IF @EndTime IS NULL
BEGIN
SET @Days = DATEDIFF(Day, @StartTime, @CurrentDate)
SET @Hours = DATEDIFF(Hour, @StartTime, @CurrentDate) - (@Days * 24)
SET @Minutes = DATEDIFF(Minute, @StartTime, @CurrentDate) - ((@Days * 24)*60) - (@Hours * 60)
END
ELSE
BEGIN
SET @Days = DATEDIFF(Day, @StartTime, @EndTime)
SET @Hours = DATEDIFF(Hour, @StartTime, @EndTime) - (@Days * 24)
SET @Minutes = DATEDIFF(Minute, @StartTime, @EndTime) - ((@Days * 24)*60) - (@Hours * 60)
END
IF(@Days <0)
BEGIN
SET @Days = @Days - @Days - @Days
END
IF (@Hours < 0)
BEGIN
SET @Hours = @Hours - @Hours - @Hours
END
IF (@Minutes <0)
BEGIN
SET @Minutes = @Minutes - @Minutes - @Minutes
END
RETURN CONVERT(nVarChar(10),@Days) + ' Days, ' + CONVERT(nVarChar(5), @Hours) + ' Hours, ' + CONVERT(nVarCHar(5), @Minutes) + ' Mins'
END
Community:
This is my scenario: a Cube in SSAS, dimension time with an attribute "cdate" defined as datetime, model deployed using "Generate Model" option of Report Server.
Querying in Report Builder: only _date attribute of time dimension is selected. Filter use _date fields , from ...to option is selected, from the calendar I select from 1 january 2007 to 10 january 2007, results a list of dates between 1 january 2007 to 1 October 2007!!!
When I select from 1 january 2007 to 15 january 2007 the list is correct!!!
Clearly it interchange days and months in first case, and do it right in second case.
What is it about? it's about Report Server settings? SQL Server settings? .Net Settings? Windows Settings?
What do I have to do ?

I need to split the amount equally into 12 months from Jan 2015 through Dec 2015.There is no date column in the table and the total amount has to be splitted equally.Guess I can't use Pivot here because the date column is not there ...How can I achieve this ?

Trying to get a report to run daily between certain hours. I can set a start time and an "end date" in Report Manager, but as far as I can tell, I can't say run hourly every day from X to Y. am I missing something?
If this isn't doable from RS, can I just find the associated job in the Agent and change the schedule of that job?
I have a table with sample data as shown in the table below. for each month end date, I need to aggregate (sum) all the quantities for each product and customer and include the current month plus the past 12 months (including current month).
For example, for customer C123, P123 and for 7/31/2015, the query should add 7/31/2015 quantity and the quantity for 1/31/2015.
DECLARE @TEMP TABLE (Customer VARCHAR (10), Product VARCHAR(10), Month_end_date DATE, Quantity INT)
INSERT INTO @TEMP VALUES ('C123','P123','1/31/2015',10)
INSERT INTO @TEMP VALUES ('C124','P124','2/28/2015',20)
INSERT INTO @TEMP VALUES ('C125','P125','3/31/2015',30)
INSERT INTO @TEMP VALUES ('C126','P126','4/30/2015',40)
[Code] ....
the output for the above example should be
C123 P123 7/31/2015
70+10=80
is this possible?
I have a date into format YYYYMM. Data type is int. I need to make query where every time it will return me last 3 months, but without current one. For example I have data for months below
201510
201509
201508
201507
Query should return all records for 201509, 201508, 201507.
I was trying lot of solutions founded in internet like this one:
Date_Column >= DATEADD(MONTH, -3, GETDATE())
or
DATEDIFF(MONTH, my_date_column, GETDATE()) <= 3
but it doesn't work.

I am stuck on a query where I need to display all the month year values even if the corresponding count_booking values are NULL. The requirement is to display the 13 month year period from current date.
For e.g. if the date exists in the current month then starting from May 15 go all the way back to Apr 14.
My current query works in terms of displaying all the 13 months if the count_booking values exist for all the months. However, if some months are missing the values then those months don't show up.how to display all the months even if the values are NULL ? Query below:
SELECT COUNT(m.BOOKING_ID) AS count_booking, LEFT(DATENAME(MONTH, m.CREATE_DT), 3) + ' ' + RIGHT('00' + CAST(YEAR(m.CREATE_DT) AS VARCHAR), 2)
AS month_name
FROM MG_BOOKING AS m
WHERE (m.CREATE_DT >= DATEADD(m, - 13, GETDATE()))

i'm trying to capture data for every hour and would like to display the hours of the day in a column.
select
case when (datepart(hh,calldate) between 0 and 7AM then 1 else 0 end as [12-7AM],
case when (datepart(hh,calldate) = 8 then 1 else 0 end as [8AM]
from table1
where cast(calldate as date) = cast(calldate as date)
My desired result should display
12-7 am
8 am
9 am

How do I filter a list of Employees where the Sum of "VALIDATED" hours is less than 80? For example.
Here is the flat table
SELECT EMP_NO, hours, IsValidated, rate_type
FROM Pay_Records
WHERE pay_period_id = 2
Order by EMP_NO
Output will be something like this
12345 | 2 |true |REG
12345 | 15 |false |OVR
12345 | 30 |true |OVER
33334 |2| true |REG
Total Validated hours for the Employee 12345 will be 32 NOT 47. How do I list employees who worked less than 80 validated hours. The hours are validated only when it is true.
My goal is to show the most recent 12 months of data including the current month based on a patients discharge date (relative to the query execution time). There could be many years of data so I want to be sure I am pulling the most recent 12 monthsThis seems to work (on the surface anyway … not quite sure if this is the best logic to use).
DATEDIFF(month,PAT_ENC_HSP_discharged.HOSP_DISCH_TIME,
GEtDate())
< 13
I have table A(year int, month int, user varchar(20)), and I am trying to write a view that would show number of distinct users in the last 3 months, last 6 months, last 9 months and last 12 months(all from the most recent year/month) in following format:
3 months 6 months 9 months 12 months
number of distinct users x y z w
My data has 2 fields: Customer Telephone Number, Date of Visit.
Basically I want to add a field ([# of Visits]), which tells me what number of visit the current record is within 6 months.
Customer TN | Date of Visit | # of Visits (Within 6 month - 180 days)
1111 | 01-Jan-2015 | 1
1111 | 06-Jan-2015 | 2
1111 | 30-Jan-2015 | 3
1111 | 05-Apr-2015 | 4
1111 | 07-Jul-2015 | 3
As you can see, the last visit would counts as 3rd because 180 days from 07-Jul-2015 would be Jan-8-2015.
I have a challenge and I'm not sure the best route to go. Consider the following dataset.
I have a table of sales. The table has fields for customer number and date of sale. There are 1 - n records for a customer. What I want is a record per customer that has the customer number and the average number of months between purchases. For example, Customer 12345 has made 5 purchases.
CustomerNumber SalesDate
1234 05/15/2010
1234 10/24/2010
1234 02/20/2011
1234 05/02/2012
1234 12/20/2012
What I want to know is the average number of months between the purchases. And do this for each customer.
I'm developing one leave application form in that I've declared "No of days"column as nvarchar type..If the user taking half(1/2) day leave then have to covert that 1/2 into 4 hours itseems..since I'm trying to display the table data on datagridview while displaying that half day in gridview again it has to conver 4 hours into 1.2 format..
My Table design:
Create table Leave_Form
(
Employee_id int primary key,
Emp_Date date,
Emp_name nvarchar(50),
[Code] ....

Currently my script is using the below mentioned query to find the time difference.
DATEDIFF(HH,DATEADD(SS,hcreacion,fcreacion) ,DATEADD(SS,hcerrar,fcreacion))
If there is 1 hr 30 minutes time difference, I am getting 2 hours as output. But we need 1.30 as output. is there any way to achieve this?
Currently we has a database of size about 300G. Because our backup system failed some time past we were left with a transaction log file which grew to about 160G. However our backups are working again and everything is working fine. My understanding is that now the transaction log file is practically empty but the capacity remains at 160G.
When you delete records the deleted transactions are going to get logged to the transaction file. My understanding is when a backup is done these transactions get discarded out of the transaction file.
could I make use of this relatively large transaction file and start deleting transactions without out actually adding to the transaction file size.
The plan is to delete records from logging tables that are not referenced to by any other table without this increasing the transaction log file.For example over a period of a few weeks we can delete a chunk of records from a table. Then after it has completed a backup we can delete another chunk of records out of this table until we have got the table down to the records that we now need.Will this work?

I have simple query that works fine if I write it every time. I want to get this one time group by each year and week ending. here us the query:
Select count(distinct ID) from table1 where year<=2015 and WeekEnding<='05/09'
Select count(distinct ID) from table1 where year<=2015 and WeekEnding<='05/16'
Select count(distinct ID) from table1 where year<=2015 and WeekEnding<='05/23'
How can I get the count for each week year and each week ending? Weekending 05/16 will include ID's from weekending 05/09 as well and week ending 05/23 will include all the ID's from 05/16 and 05/09 and so on...
