Trying To Run A Schedule Dts Package Every 20 Minutes To Recreate A Table With Updated Data Into A Excell File
Jun 7, 2007
The only way the job success is if I select the option add rows wich is copying all rows even the ones that are already there, I tried to drop amd recreate the table option but i just dosn't run that way, help please..
I have different versions of essentially the same database on two different computers. From Computer B I need to copy one table AND its data to Computer A.
I've read several articles and have tried several things but can't figure out how to do it. Incidentally, I'm running SQL Server Express 2005 on both machines.
I created a SSIS package. It imports data from a flat file and then transfer to different data types and load it into destination table. I use look up transformation. Actually before I created final table, I created another intermediate data table for references. Now I get a new source file once in a month. Then I'm supposed to connect new file and run the package. only difference in new source file is the data not data type. But when I connect the new flat file, package does not work. first one and fifth one are red when I run the package. Can anyone help me to fix this?
Thanks
p/s;
I get the following error messages in execution result page.

I have successfully created a SSIS package which execute a DTS 2000 package and with no problem to execute the task. But I failed to schedule this package. I was not success in setting the logging. When running the package in command line:

I want to drop table and then recreate. It's referenced by many table and I dont want to drop all constraints referencing to it. Is there any feature like "switch off/on constraints" in MSSQL?(6.5)
I have a database around 500 GB. right now the database have only one data file and one log, it has only one filegroup also.all the indexes and table are placed in Primary Filegroup . we are going to separate them. the planing is to move all the indexes to Secondary filegroup and all the table will be in Primary filegroup. But there will be a problem while implementing it because there are around 600 tables and each table have at least 2 non-clustered index , so is there any way to move all the index to Secondary Filegroup.
I'm having a heck of a time trying to upload data to an excel spreadsheet. This works perfectly in sql 2000 but I've been having problems with 2005

I have an IS package containing approx. 10 tasks in the control flow - one of these tasks is a rather large data flow containing around 50 transformations plus 3 sources and two destinations. Around 10 of these are script components and another 10 are Union All transformations. The rest are primarily lookups, conditional splits and derived column transformation.
The XML file containing the package is approx. 4.5 MB. As I am developing the package, it is becoming increasingly slow to work with as more transformations are added to the data flow. Now, it takes 8 minutes every time I have to open the package for development (DelayValidation is even set to true) and DTExec (not the debugger) uses the same amount of time before it starts executing the package. It also takes a very long time to edit the data flow, as I typically have to wait 1-2 minutes every time the designer has to "commit" a change.
Does anyone have any idea what can be done to speed up the package - both with regard to development and execution?
I am trying to create and later read a data file from a package deployed in SSISDB, but it is not reading it while it is successfully creating the file. The same package when run from the file system package, runs successfully. Generating ispac and deploying in SSISDB is running for infinite time. Is it a permission issue?
I have an SSIS package that when run from Visual Studio takes 1 minute or less to complete. When I schedule this package to run as a SQL Server job it takes 5+ and sometimes hangs complaining about buffers.
The server is a 4 way 3ghz Xeon (dual core) with 8GB ram and this was the only package running.
When I look in the log I see that the package is running and processing data, although very very very very very slowly.
I experienced a weird error while deploying my SSIS package. After running the manifest file, i noticed that one of the configuration file's path was not updated in the dtsx file. My solution has 8 packages and almost every package has 2 configuration files. Except 1 file every other config file's path is being updated. Has anybody experieced such a problem?
I have one custom dataflow component in assembly A with version 1.1.0.0 used in many packages. The component is now in assembly A with version 1.2.0.0 but not changed. There is aniway to have those packaged configured in order to automaticaly be upgrated to use the new version of the component?
I tried (in this order): - set the property "UpdateObjects" to true on package (while version 1.1.0.0 was available in GAC) and saved package. - unistalled the version 1.1.0.0 from GAC. - tried to reopen package with "Reload and Upgrade" option. NO SUCCESS
I know that can be an brute way to do it, meaning replace as text in xml ... but i try to find a solution not this stupid "workaround"
Does anyone know what would cause my log file (.LDF) to grow at a rate of over 1MB per second and quickly fill up the hard drive? I could use a quick answer on this. My experience is in Oracle but I'm assuming you can set the maximum size for a log file for starters? Not sure why it would be growing at this rate anyway though. I could use some quick answers on this one. Thanks!
I have MS SQL installed on my workstation at work. I am trying to use DTS to export data from our local network that uses a Pervasive DB to our web server that is hosted with another company.
If I go in and manually execute the DTS package from my workstation, it send the data to the web server.
If I try to schedule the DTS Package to automatically send the data, it fails. SQL Server Agent is running on my workstation and on the web server.
Is what I am trying to do possible? What am I doing wrong?
I have a DTS package that I can execute manually all I want, no problem.
However, when I try to schedule the package to run as a job, it error when it tries to connect to my remote database, giving me comments about the ODBC driver (which is installed correctly).
My best guess is that when I run it manually, it running under my userid/password (NT authentication), but when it runs as a job, it is using the SQL Agent, which has a different level of authority somehow.
This may be a no-brainer, but I've looked at everything I know of.
I have been tasked with creating a web interface that kicks off a DTS package. The problem is that the DTS package takes a long time to run and basically hangs the browser until the process is complete...not good, and bumping up the script timeout in IIS doesnt help either. What i need to be able to do is schedule the package to run immediately rather than just execute it. That way I should be able to regain control of the browser as soon as the job has been scheduled. Does anyone have any code samples on how to do this? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
HalloI have a DTS Package which reads data from a Access Database andimports it to SQL Server. This package runs without error when it isexecuted trough Enterprise Manager. When I create a job with "Schedule Package" and then try to run thejob, it gives errors like this:Ausführt als Benutzer: SQL-S002MURSQL_Admin. ...db Das System kanndas angegebene Laufwerk nicht finden.DTSRun: Lädt... DTSRun: Führtaus... DTSRun OnStart: DTSStep_DTSCreateProcessTask_1 DTSRunOnError: DTSStep_DTSCreateProcessTask_1, Fehler = -2147220330(80040496) Fehlerzeichenfolge: CreateProcessTask'DTSTask_DTSCreateProcessTask_1': Prozess gab Code 1 zurück. Dieserstimmt nicht mit dem....That means the system cannot find the specified drive.SQL Server and SQL Server Agent are running as SQL_Admin, I am alsologged in as SQL_Admin when I run the package in Enterprise Manager.Thank you very much, if someone can give me a hint.HP
What is the best way to schedule a package to run every 30 minutes during the day. Would it be using SQL Agent Jobs? If so, what is the things I need to consider.
I am trying to create a job to automatically execute a package. The package was created by use of the wizard. It€™s very simple€¦export a view to a flat file. If I run the package as is it generated the file. However when I create a job and try to run the job it errors out with package cannot be found even though the path of the dtsx file is correct.
Shouldn€™t I be able to schedule a package which was created by the wizard? Do you have any idea when I€™d get a msg that package cannot be found even though the path is correct?
Please let me know your thoughts on this issue€¦I am at a lost.
IF EXISTS (SELECT * FROM sys.objects WHERE object_id = OBJECT_ID(N'[dbo].[table_Data]') AND type in (N'U')) DROP TABLE [dbo].[table_Data] GO /****** Object: Table [dbo].[table_Data] Script Date: 04/21/2015 22:07:49 ******/ SET ANSI_NULLS ON GO SET QUOTED_IDENTIFIER ON GO IF NOT EXISTS (SELECT * FROM sys.objects WHERE object_id = OBJECT_ID(N'[dbo].[table_Data]') AND type in (N'U'))
I'm trying to schedule a DTS package (import some tables from Mysql database) but there is an error and I don't know how to resolve it.
The error is always the same... "The job failed. The Job was invoked by Schedule 24 (Import RT data). The last step to run was step 1 (Import RT data)."
I have tried changing the all the parameters in the job properties, but I always obtein the same message.
The DTS package works fine, I can execute and it works, the problem is the schedule...
I'm new to DTS packages and have a problem with some new ones that have been set up and wondered if anyone else has experienced the same problem I am having.
A couple of DTS packages will run ok if I manually execute them but if I schedule them they fail. Any ideas would be appreciated.
I have set up a couple of DTS local packages to run ActiveX scripts creating XML files and copying them to our webserver (on the same domain).
I can run them OK manually via the 'Execute' package command in the drop down list when I right click on them and also get the 'Package successfully run' message back on running them, but when I schedule them to run overnight I find the SQL Server Agent reports them as 'failed' although other packages set up seem to be running OK when scheduled.
