I want to update the STATUS column based on min date in my table.
For example – If minimum BOOKING_DATE of any RecieptID is below to 2015-10-01, then Status of that RecieptID should be 0 for all records pertaining to dedicated RecieptID So I need an output in this way.
I'm looking for a way of taking a query which returns a set of date time fields (probable maximum of 20 rows) and looping through each value to see if it exists in a separate table.
E.g.
Query 1
Select ID, Person, ProposedEvent, DayField, TimeField from MyOptions where person = 'me'
Table
Select Person, ExistingEvent, DayField, TimeField from MyTimetable where person ='me'
Loop through Query 1 and if it finds ANY matching Dayfield AND Timefield in Query/Table 2, return the ProposedEvent (just as a message, the loop could stop there), if no match a message saying all is fine can proceed to process form blah blah.
I'm essentially wanting somebody to select a bunch of events in a form, query 1 then finds all the days and times those events happen and check that none of them exist in the MyTimetable table.
I have a scenario where I have to Update a table with date when there are new records in another table
For example:
I load ODS table with the data from a file in SSIS. the file has CustomerID and other columns.
Now, when there is new record for any customerID in Ods, then Update the dbo table with the most recent record for every CustomerID(i.e. update the date column in dbo for that customerID). Also Include an Identifier that relates back to the ODS table. How do I do this?
I want to find out which records were created within a given period of time per user. For example I want to know if the user "georgev" (or any users) has created more than one record in this table within a 2 minute period.
Hopefully thsi will warm your brains this cold Monday morning :p
When records are initially created, they are given statuses of New, Pending, Closed
By default, the status is New.
If no action has been taken after 15 days since the records were created, users are sent a reminder.
I have this part working.
The problem is that as long as the status is not equal to closed, start sending reminders every 10 days.
Here is what I am working with:
SELECT [ID] , [Name], [Email], Status FROMmyTable WHERE Status_Name != 'Closed' AND Status_Name IS NOT NULL and Status_Name = 'New' and Status='Pending' AND CONVERT(Char,DateAdd(day,-15,getdate()),101) = CONVERT(Char,Date_Entered,101)
in my database i have a "datecreated" feild, its datatype is "datetime", is it possible to set the defualt value as the time now? if so what do I put in the defualt value property? thanks a million si!
Hi Guys, Im new using SSIS and i just created a data flow that reads from multiple flat files (with a mutipleflatfiles conn manager) and inserts the files data to an sql server (with an ole db destination)
The thing is i need to insert the created date property of each file im importing and i dont know how to do this.
I've read i could do this with a script but im not very familiar to it.
Is there anyway to get the date an index was created on a table? I can see that there is a created date column on various system tables (sys.objects etc) but I can't find one related to an index.
Well you would think it was pretty simple. If I create a Database on Server a last week, take a backup of that database and put it on server b today, the CRDate in sysdatabases still shows the date of last week instead of today. I need to find the actual date for all 150+ servers from sql 7 - sql 2005 in our domain. Any ideas? I had heard that maybe SQL DMO had an object that might be helpfull but I have not been able to look it up anywhere or see how to use it using sp_oa procs.
I have a date parameter for a report that is intended to search 'within the last X week/month...'. The SQL for this is basically WHERE [datefield] >= @dateparam AND [datefield] <= GETDATE().
The @dateparam is defined in the report as 'From query', the value field is 'thedate', and the label field is 'thetext', and the dataset is:
Date Query dataset
SELECT GETDATE()-7 as thedate, '1 Week' as thetext, 1 as theorder UNION SELECT GETDATE()-14 as thedate,'2 Weeks' as thetext, 2 as theorder UNION SELECT GETDATE()-21 as thedate,'3 Weeks' as thetext, 3 as theorder UNION SELECT GETDATE()-31 as thedate,'1 Month' as thetext, 4 as theorder UNION SELECT GETDATE()-62 as thedate,'2 Months' as thetext, 5 as theorder UNION SELECT GETDATE()-(31*3) as thedate,'3 Months' as thetext, 6 as theorder UNION SELECT GETDATE()-(31*6) as thedate,'6 Months' as thetext, 7 as theorder UNION SELECT GETDATE()-365 as thedate,'1 Year' as thetext, 8 as theorder ORDER BY 3 When I go to run the report and selecting a value for the date parameter, there is never any output, and the data selection combo box just gets reset to show <select a value>.
I need a little help here..I want to transfer ONLY new records AND update any modified recordsfrom Oracle into SQL Server using DTS. How should I go about it?a) how do I use global variable to get max date.Where and what DTS task should I use to complete the job? Data DrivenQuery? Transform data task? How ? can u give me samples. Perhaps youcan email me the Demo Package as well.b) so far, what I did was,- I have datemodified field in my Oracle table so that I can comparewith datelastrun of my DTS package to get new records- records in Oracle having datemodified >Max(datelastrun), and transferto SQL Server table. Now, I am stuck as to where should I proceed - how can I transfer theserecords?Hope u can give me some lights. Thank you in advance.
I would like to know as to how can I put a Current Date & Time stamp on a FILE NAME automatically which is created by a DTS package.
E.g. I create a file named ABC.TXT daily. How do I get this file to have the current Date stamp so that the file name is ABC121201.TXT without any user intervention.
I create a Dimension Date using SSAS 2008 but when i execute the dimension and i go to see the result i have this result:the result is not sorted..what i need is having the result order by year i mean i have Calendrier 2020,Calendrier 2019 ...
Any one please tell me is there any possible way to identify the table modified date.
I have checked the table created date from sysobjects or by right click properties. my requirement is to identify the exact date of table modification and column creation, alter dates. Is there any such provision in sql server 2000 or 2005 , My application is in sql server 2000.
I need to confirm this because some database structure modification has affected my application and causing dataloss i need to check with the date of structural change of table and lost data date can any one help
as you can see, the records have a 30minutes time interval. i need to create a query to know if there are missing records in the table. so basically the result should be this:
I have a four tables called plandescription, plandetail and analysisdetail. The table plandescription has the columns DetailQuestionID which is the primary and identity column and a QuestionDescription column.
The table plandetail consists of the column PlanDetailID which the primary and identity column, DetailQuestionID which is the foreign key attribute of plandescription table and a planID column.
The third table analysisdetail consists of a analysisID which the primary and identity column, PlanDetailID which is the foreign key attribute of plandetail table and a scenario.
Below is the schema of the three tables
I have a two web form that will insert, update and delete data into these three tables in a two transaction. One web form will perform CRUD operations in plandescription and plandetail table. When the user inserts QuestionDescription and planid in this web form, I will insert the QuestionDescription Value in the plandescription table and will generate a DetailQuestionID value and this value is fed to the plandetail table with the planid. Here I will generate a PlanDetailID.
Once this transaction is done, I will show the second web form in which the user enters the scenario and this will be mapped with the plandescription using the PlanDetailID.
This schema cannot be changes as this is the client requirement. When I insert values I don’t have any problem. However when I update existing data, I need to delete existing PlanDetailID in the plandetail table and recreate PlanDetailID data for that DetailQuestionID and planID. This is because, the user will be adding or deleting a planID associated with the QuestionDescription.
Once I recreate PlanDetailID for that DetailQuestionID and planID, I need to update the old PlanDetailID with the new PlanDetailID in the third table analysisdetail for the associated analysisID.
I created a #Temp table called #DetailTable to insert the values analysisID, planid and old PlanDetailID and new PlanDetailID so that I can have them in update statement once I delete the data from plandetail table for that PlanDetailID.
Then I deleted the plandetailid from the plandetail table and recreate PlanDetailID for that DetailQuestionID. During my recreation I fetched the new PlanDetailID’s created into another temp table called #InsertedRows
After this I am running a while loop to update the temp table #DetailTable with the newly created PlanDetailID for the appropriate planID’s. The problem is here. When I have the same number of planID’s for example 2 planID’s 1,2 I will have only two old PlanDetailID and new PlanDetailID for that planID and analysisID.But When I add a new PlanID or remove a existing planID I am getting null value for that newly added or deleted planID. This is affecting my update statement of analysisdetail table as PlanDetailID cannot be null.
I tried to remove the Null value from the #DetailTable by running the update statement of analysis detail in a while loop however its not working.
DECLARE @categoryid INT = 8 DECLARE @DetailQuestionID INT = 1380 /*------- I need the query to run for the below three data. Here i'm updating my planids that already exists in my database*/ DECLARE @planids VARCHAR(MAX) = '2,4,5'
I want to compare two columns in the same table called start date and end date for one clientId.if clientId is having continuous refenceid and sartdate and enddate of reference that I don't need any caseopendate but if clientID has new reference id and it's start date is not continuous to its previous reference id then I need to set that start date as caseopendate.
Hi,I have a problem with updating a datetime column,When I try to change the Column from VB I get "Incorrect syntax near'942'" returned from [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]'942' is the unique key column valueHowever if I update any other column the syntax is fineThe same blanket update query makes the changes no matter what isupdatedThe problem only happens when I set a unique key on the date field inquestionKey is a composite of an ID, and 2 date fieldsIf I allow duplicates in the index it all works perfectlyI am trying to trap 'Duplicate value in index' (which is working onother non-date columns in other tables)This is driving me nutsAny help would be appreciated
trying to get a new database created then running a script to created the tables, relationships, indexes and insert default data. All this I'm making happen during the installation of my Windows application. I'm installing SQL 2012 Express as a prerequisite of my application and then opening a connection to that installed SQL Server using Windows Authentication.Â
E.g.: Data Source=ComputerNameSQLEXPRESS;Initial Catalog=master;Integrated Security=SSPI; Then I run a query from my code to create the database eg: "CREATE DATABASE [MyDatabaseName]".
From this point I run a script using a Batch file containing "SQLCMD....... Myscriptname.sql". In my script I have my tables being created using "Use [MyDatabaseName]   Go  CREATE TABLE [dbo].[MyTableName] .....". So question is, should I have [dbo]. as part of my Create Table T-SQL commands? Can I remove "[dbo]."? Who would be the owner of the database? If I can remove the [dbo]., should I also remove dbo. from any query string from within my code?
I do realize that his could be posted in a few spots but I think the answer is in the SQL. I have a ASP.NET page, with a SqlDataSource, Text Box and Calendar Controls. I have the textbox and calendar controls eval'ed to the same sql data source DateTime Field. The text box is formatted eval to small time and the calendars eval has no formatting. ex: <asp:TextBox ID="START_TIME" Text='<%# Eval("EVENT_START","{0:t}") %>' runat=server Width=200></asp:TextBox> I want to merge the two controls; one has the date the other has the time when I update the pages data to the SqlDataSource field EVENT_START. I've tried a couple of methods, but I would like some other opinions. As Sql server only supports date and time together I am storing the two together. I could merge the two together in the code behind on the update button's event handler or merge the two during the update query using parameters. Not that I could get an illegal date for the calendar control, but I could get garbage from the textfield time. So I still would have to do validation on the text field before the SQL server could do the update. There's a few ways to go about this, so I was wondering if anyone else has figured out an elegant way to handle it. wbochar
I have a reference table that currently has no web front-end. It's a small table(<10 rows) that's not going to change very often (maybe once every few months).
We manually update rows on the table via the GUI table interface in Enterprise Mgr., not in T-SQL.
What I'd like to do is have SQL Server automatically update the "Last_Modified" column with the current timestamp. I can do it on an Insert using the GetDate() function, but if I update a row, this doesn't work.
Is there a function I can use that can auto-populate for both insert and updates?
SO when i try to load from  Master table to parent and child table i am using using expresssion likeÂ
select B.ID,A.* FROM FLATFILE_INVENTORY AS A JOIN DMS_INVENTORY AS B ONÂ A.ACDealerID=B.DMSDEALERID AND A.StockNumber=B.STOCKNUMBER ANDÂ A.InventoryDate=B.INVENTORYDATE AND A.VehicleVIN=B.VEHICLEVIN WHERE convert(date,A.[FtpDate]) = convert(date,GETDATE()) Â and convert(date,B.Ftpdate) = convert(date,getdate()) ;
If i use this Expression i am getting the current system date data's only  from Master table to parent and child tables.
My Problem is If i do this in my local sserver using the above Expression if i loaded today date and if need to load yesterday date i can change my system date to yesterday date and i can run this Expression.so that yeserday date data alone will get loaded from Master to parent and  child tables.
If i run this expression to remote server  i cannot change the system date in server.
while using this Expression for current date its loads perfectly but when i try to load yesterday data it takes current date date only not the yesterday date data.
What is the Expression on which ever  date i am trying load in  the master table  same date need to loaded in Parent and child table without changing the system Date.
I would like to update Table 1 with the data from Table 2. Here is my problem..Lets say that I have two records in Table 2 that have the same policyNumber but two different NewEmpNames, it only takes the first. In other words, a single policynumber can be moved to a New EmpName and then again later on to another NewEmpName adn even again if need be
Hi, I need to extract one record which has the most recent 'facilityprocessdate' from this following query. I'm a bit at a loss of how to do it since I need to keep all the other fields there as well.
SELECT a.WorkOrder, z.City, b.FacilityProcessDate, z.[State Abbreviation] AS State, a.MailTrackingID
FROM dbo.MailTracking AS a WITH (nolock) INNER JOIN dbo.USPS_ConfirmData AS b WITH (nolock) ON SUBSTRING(a.PlanetCode, 1, 13) = b.PlanetCode AND SUBSTRING(a.PostNetCode, 1, 11) = b.PostNetCode INNER JOIN dbo.ZipCodeLookup AS z WITH (nolock) ON b.FacilityZipID = z.[ZIP Code]
WHERE (a.WorkOrder = '28696') AND (a.ClientApplicationID = '8') AND (SUBSTRING(a.PlanetCode, 1, 2) = '50') AND (a.RunDate >= GETDATE() - 90) ORDER BY a.MailTrackingID, b.FacilityProcessDate
My results look like the following: So for example out of the first two records I'd need only the second one. MailTrackingID is the primary key. WorkOrder City FacilityProcessDate State MailTrackingID 28696 PROVIDENCE 2007-11-07 23:01:28.000 RI 34313136 28696 CINCINNATI 2007-11-09 14:44:05.000 OH 34313136 28696 BELLMAWR 2007-10-22 21:40:43.000 NJ 34313141 28696 CINCINNATI 2007-10-23 23:42:13.000 OH 34313141 28696 BELLMAWR 2007-10-19 19:51:08.000 NJ 34313142 28696 CINCINNATI 2007-10-20 22:12:00.000 OH 34313142
I am trying to update a field within one table with the values from another table. With the criteria that another field in each table are equal. What is the correct way to do this. My syntax is all wrong.
I have table1 which has many unique ID numbers and table2 that has many records for each ID. some of the ID numbers in table1 have changed and I have created a translation table (table3) that links the old and new ID numbers.
What I need to do is some sort of update sql statement that updates all the records in table2 changing all the oldID numbers to the new ones using the translation table.
Table1 and table2 are not linked...can anyone help me with the sql statement
example
Table 1 IDNUM NAME 12345 Joe 12346 Mary 12347 David
Good day to all, I am new here so i hope i am doing things correctly.
The Company i work for make coils of shaped wire and work a 6 - 6 shift pattern
I have a database that is updated from a data collection source (MS Access) at 06:00 every morning. This seems to be working ok, my problem is that most coils fit nicely into the 6 - 6 shift pattern, but some now and again drift over into the next shift. I have written a crystal report that picks up this data. at the moment the coils are put in the database as: [Coil Start Time], [Coil Finish Time], [Coil Start Weight], [Coil Finish Weight], etc.
I have written (been helped to write) a SQL statement that will do the following:
Step 1: If the Coil Finish time is greater than the shift end time, then set the shit end time to be coil end time and zero start and finish wheight. Step 2: The original Coil record is duplicated and Coil Start time set to start time of shift, all other data left alone.
Example of code:
-->>
SELECT [Batch Name], [Batch Start], [Batch End], [Coil Start Weight], [Coil Finish Weight], [Product], [Shift], [Operator ID], [Works Order No] FROM dbo.tblCoilData WHERE (DATEPART(hour, [Batch Start]) >= 6 AND DATEPART(hour, [Batch End]) < 18) OR ((DATEPART(hour, [Batch Start]) < 6 OR DATEPART(hour, [Batch Start]) >= 18) AND (DATEPART(hour, [Batch End]) < 6 OR DATEPART(hour, [Batch End]) >= 18)) UNION ALL SELECT [Batch Name], [Batch Start], DATEADD(hour, 17, DATEADD(minute, 59, CONVERT(char(10), [Batch End], 101))), 0, 0, [Product], [Shift], [Operator ID], [Works Order No] FROM dbo.tblCoilData WHERE DATEPART(hour, [Batch Start]) >= 6 AND DATEPART(hour, [Batch Start]) < 18 AND (DATEPART(hour, [Batch End]) < 6 OR DATEPART(hour, [Batch End]) >= 18) UNION ALL SELECT [Batch Name], DATEADD(hour, 18, CONVERT(char(10), [Batch Start], 101)), [Batch End], [Coil Start Weight], [Coil Finish Weight], [Product], [Shift], [Operator ID], [Works Order No] FROM dbo.tblCoilData WHERE DATEPART(hour, [Batch Start]) >= 6 AND DATEPART(hour, [Batch Start]) < 18 AND (DATEPART(hour, [Batch End]) < 6 OR DATEPART(hour, [Batch End]) >= 18) UNION ALL SELECT [Batch Name], [Batch Start], DATEADD(hour, 5, DATEADD(minute, 59, CONVERT(char(10), [Batch End], 101))), 0, 0, [Product], [Shift], [Operator ID], [Works Order No] FROM dbo.tblCoilData WHERE (DATEPART(hour, [Batch Start]) < 6 OR DATEPART(hour, [Batch Start]) >= 18) AND DATEPART(hour, [Batch End]) >= 6 AND DATEPART(hour, [Batch End]) < 18 UNION ALL SELECT [Batch Name], DATEADD(hour, 6, CONVERT(char(10), [Batch Start], 101)), [Batch End], [Coil Start Weight], [Coil Finish Weight], [Product], [Shift], [Operator ID], [Works Order No] FROM dbo.tblCoilData WHERE (DATEPART(hour, [Batch Start]) < 6 OR DATEPART(hour, [Batch Start]) >= 18) AND DATEPART(hour, [Batch End]) >= 6 AND DATEPART(hour, [Batch End]) < 18
<<--
I have 2 options now
option 1: Leave this as a SQL View and report from this
option 2: Insert updated records to the tblCoilData table so that the data in the table is permanent
I would prefer option 2 but am a bit of a nugget when it comes to writing update / insert statements, Could someone please help me with this
Update the taskname as 'projectname' + '_' + 'workname' for any projectid. projectname and workname coming from the projectid and workid in the task record
so the task table becomes 1,project1_work1,1,1 2,project1_work2,1,2 3,project2_work3,2,3
I can get all the records doing this
SELECT p.projectname+ ' ' + w.workname AS 'NEWNAME' FROM task t JOIN work w ON t.workid = w.workid JOIN project p ON t.projectid = p.projectid WHERE projectid = 2
