FTP Task - Delete Remote Files Always Fails

Hello,
I have two FTP Tasks configured in my SSIS package. One is for "Receive files" and the other is set for "Delete remote files." Both use variables for the source/destination paths. My remote path variable contains a wild card in the name field such as /usr/this/is/my/path/*.ext and it is working to FTP all the .ext files to my working directory. I then rename the files and want to remove the original files from the FTP server. I use the same variable as the remote path variable in the delete as I do in the receive.
Using the same FTP connection manager for both tasks I am always getting a failure on the delete. The FTP connection manger is setup to use the root user. Using a terminal I am able to open an FTP connection to the server and remove the files manually. There doesn't seem to be any detailed documentation on the FTP Task configured for Delete remote files so I'm hoping someone might have some insight to the problem.
I receive the same message for each of the files that was downloaded:
Error: 0xC001602A at MyPackage, Connection manager "FTP Connection Manager": An error occurred in the requested FTP operation. Detailed error description: 550 usr hisismypathdatafile1.ext: No such file or directory.
The attempt to delete file "usr hisismypathdatafile1.ext" failed. This may occur when the file does not exist, the file name was spelled incorrectly, or you do not have permissions to delete the file.
With the root user/working manually I'm not understanding the permission reason, the file does exist and is spelled correctly.

FTP Task - Delete Remote Files Issue
Nov 3, 2006We are Downloading files from FTP Site using "FTP Task" and we need to remove those files after downloading.
We need to delete files of specific names, like "Names_*.TXT" (All the txt files and Names starting from "Names_") so We are using Delete Remote Files and Remote path we are specifying as "/Names_*.TXT"
This doesn't work its not able to delete the files so, We tried using "*.*" and also given the specific filename like "Names_A1.TXT" then also its not deleting the remote files.
Please let me know the solution.

It works remotely if I run it via command prompt. But when I add this to a TSQL job on my remote SQL instance, it runs without deleting anything. What I'm missing?
Delete Remote Files
Mar 3, 2006I wish to delete remote files on an FTP server after I download them. I want to download files daily and delete them daily after I finish downloading. I am trying to use the FTP task to do this but I get an error when it tries to delete files from specified location. It says:
"Unable to delete files using FTP Connection Manager" The FTP connection manager contains the FTP connection string and password. I have unchecked the passive mode box. Can someone help me with this error,

Unable To Delete Old ZIP Files Using Maintenance Plan
May 8, 2015I'm using below script within the execute T-SQL statement task of the maintenance plan, which is created to delete the zip files older than 2 days, the task runs before the backup database task gets kicked off, but some how the task is not deleting the old .zip files.
Code being used within the task: output of the @delete_file variable within the delete command is Del X:SQLBackup*2015_05_06*.zip before it is passed to the final exec statement, the server is in EST time zone.

FTP Task To Receive Files And Send It To A Remote Server

I am new to SSIS. I need to read the files in a remote server folder and ftp them to the other remote server folder.
I know , I have to set up FTP task and FTP task must use a variable to provide the path information. But I am not sure how I can do this. Anyone suggest me with the script task to populate the variable and steps involved in this.

Sql Server 2005 Maintenance Task Delete Files Does Not Work
Mar 24, 2008I used the toolbox to select maintenance cleanup task to create the job to do this. In reading similar notes regarding this problem, some people mentioned that there was a choice to include subfolders. I do not have this choice. When I execute select @@version I get Microsoft SQL Server 2005 - 9.00.3042.00 (X64) Feb 10 2007 00:59:02 Copyright (c) 1988-2005 Microsoft Corporation Enterprise Edition (64-bit) on Windows NT 5.2 (Build 3790: Service Pack 2) . SQL 2005 Maintenance Cleanup Task Is Not Deleting Files On Remote File Share
Jan 16, 2008I have the following issue with Maintenance plan backups that work for BAK DIF and TRN to a remote server share.
When I try and remove the old files with a clean up task I get an error and the files don't get deleted.
The version is as follows

The error result is as follows,

The maintenance plan seems to be adding extra "" though when i enter the
code directly in a query i get same error.

Error:

The servers belong to the same domain and are using the same Service account which has all the necessary rights to the share and the file directory location. The backups work but i get the error on the cleanup task.
Trying to figure out how to get the Cleanup task to delete old files. The same happens for all file extensions and I have tried other locations with simpler file paths same error.

It is looking for files in C:Program FilesMicrosoft SQL ServerMSSQL10_50.INSTANCEMSSQLLog whereas it should be looking in C:Program FilesMicrosoft SQL ServerMSSQL10_50.MSSQLSERVERMSSQLLog
how I can get this corrected so I can get the Maintenance Plans to run correctly.

Script Task: How To Compare Files On FTP With Existing Files In Local Folder Before Transfer!
Apr 24, 2008In the first step of my SSIS package I need to get files from FTP and dump it/them in a local directory, but it's more than that, the logic is like this:
1. If no file(s) found, stop executing and send email saying no file(s) found;
2. If file(s) found, then compare it/them with existing files in our archive folder; if file(s) already exist in archive folder, stop executing and send email saying file(s) already existed, if file(s) not in archive folder yet, then transfer it/them to the local directory for processing.
I know i have to use a script task to do this and i did some research and found examples for each of the above 2 steps and not both combined, so that's why I need some help here to get the logic incorporated right.

Unable To Remote Access

I encounter a problem of unable to access Remote Server after i placed my web application into the web server.
An error has occurred while establishing a connection to the server. When connecting to SQL Server 2005, this failure may be caused by the fact that under the default settings SQL Server does not allow remote connections. (provider: TCP Provider, error: 0 - No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it.)
So I googled and tried lot of different ways of connecting.By piped name, IP, trying instance which that server don't even have one :X.I also tried typing in cmd > telnet localhost 1433It appeared that the telnet fail, i tried it on other machine, it works. So is it cause by denied of access through that port?I checked at the sql client network, it show 1433, i check the server too, it show 1433.I also checked if there's any firewall, it appear there is no firewall at all.The sql server i trying to connect is SQL 2000, it run by Windows Server 2003
Any advise or more information you needed to help me solve this problem?Thanks
Unable To Delete A Row In A Table
Jul 13, 2001Is there any way to delete an unwanted row on a table with 300 or more constraints with less modifications to contraints? Or is there any other way that can remove the unwanted row without much risk? Dropping the constraints is possible but re-adding the constraints may not be possible because the create constraint statements are not known. And readding the constraints may take time because the database physical size is around 1GB... Please help

Aug 27, 2007When trying to delete a user on SQL server 2000, we recieve the message "You cannot drop the selected login ID because that login ID owns objects in one or more databases."
We've tried a number of operations to find the objects owned by the user by searching for this error message in Google but, none of those suggestions work.
My questions are; Why does this happen, How can we avoid it in the future?
Our software applicaiton is case sensistive, and if a SQL security login is not created that matches the Domain login to the method used in the application - somehow we are suck. We can't create a new security for the login, nor can we delete or use the existing one.

Unable To Connect To A New Remote SQL Server
Jul 22, 2005My VS 2005 website project was connecting to a remote SQL Server. But after I move the database to the second SQL Server, I got the following error message from running my website project:
Named Pipes Provider: Logon failure: unknown user name or bad password.
I do everything same like what I did in the first SQL server:
Using “SQL Server and Windows� authentication and “System account�;
Create a domain account IIS_WPG;
Grant this IIS_WPG as db_owner for the database;
In web.config, add the name and password to the end of connectionstring;
Make sure the SQL Server has “Named Pipes� and “TCP/IP� protocols.
I have no idea what I can do else, anybody has suggestions?
Unable To Connect To The Remote Server

We have a copy of SQL2k Report Services running on a Windows 2003 Server. But the database used by the Reports is actually on another box in our network. (This is a option you can use during install.) This setup worked fine for about a year but now neither the reports and ReportManager no longer run. The Reporting services Log error is:
System.Net.WebException: The underlying connection was closed: Unable to connect to the remote server.
In a browser we get the error:

"This Virtual Directory does not allow contents to be listed."

Turning on the option to list directory contents in IIS does not resolve the issue.
Anyone seen this creep up before? I am unaware of any changes to the machine's security in the last few weeks but something has obviously changed.
I can ping the remote servers where the DB's are stored.
I am using Windows Integrated Authentication.
I have a dev box with a similar configuration, except everything is hosted locally, and it runs fine.
Any ideas?

Unable To Delete Records...SQL 2005
Mar 20, 2007I've got an application I've written that should be able to (using a table) insert, update or delete records in SQL Server 2005. It can insert and update fine but it cannot delete any records. I'm totally stumped for how to figure out what's going on. I can remote on to the Windows 2003 Enterprise Server without any trouble so I should be able to read any log files or open the SQL Managemenent tools. How do I figure out what the issue is? It's a very strange thing and I'm stumped.

I created and scheduled a test snapshot publication and a push subscription using the sql server replication wizard. Tested it and it worked all fine as the data was regularly replicated to the destination server correctly.
After I was satisfied with the test I deleted the replication and subscription without any problem. But I noticed that the jobs created by the replication wizard had not been deleted. I was disappointed as I had also expected these to be deleted because there are no more any local publication or replication on the server.
I, then, tried to delete the job by right click - and then delete. But I am unable to delete the pubilcation and subscription jobs at all. When I try to delete the sql server 2005 the following error message appears:

Unable To Delete Duplicate Records
Jul 7, 2007I was importing records via DTSWizard, and I was having problems so I turned off Enforce Replicaton, Enforce FK Constraints on a couple of fields. I'm new with SQL Server so I'm not sure if this even caused the problem. (Do I need to turn these back on, or is this a Developer switch of some kind?)
The end result left me with duplicate records in the table, and I'm not able to delete any of them. This is the Error I got...
A problem occurred attempting to delete row 1.
Error Source: Microsoft.VisualStudio,Datatools.
Error Message: The row value(s) updated or deleted either do not make the row unique or they after multiple rows(2 rows).
If someone could tell me what I need to do so I can delete the records I'd really appreciate it.

Cannot Delete Remote Server

- When I go to delete the 'DVA' from the list of remote servers I get
- Error 15190: There are still remote logins for the server 'DVA'
I execute the following statement to list remote logins
- execute sp_helpRemoteLogin
the output returns

T1 | Distributor_admin | sa | trusted
Fair enough I go to delete those remote logins using
- execute sp_dropremotelogin 'DVA' ,'distributor_admin', 'distributor_admin'
- execute sp_dropremotelogin 'DVA' ,'distributor_admin', 'sa'
but.. get the following error messages
There is no remote user 'Distributor_admin' and 'sa' mapped to the local user 'distributor_admin' from the remote server 'DVA'

The Script Files Failed To Load In Script Task When Setting A Breakpoint In The Task On Vista
Mar 15, 2007I cannot set a breakpoint in a Script task and have it complete successfully. I am running Vista 32-bit and only the workstation tools for SQL Server 2005 SP2. The steps to recreate are:
1) Create a new SSIS project/package.
2) Add a Script Task.
3) Set a breakpoint in the Script Task.
4) Run the package.
When I remove the breakpoint, the script task succeeds. When I put it back the task fails. The execution results say "Error: The script files failed to load." I completely uninstalled all SQL Server 2005-related entries using the Programs and Features control panel, rebooted, reinstalled the Workstation Tools, then applied a freshly-downloaded SQL Server 2005 SP2 and rebooted. If I change "RecompileScriptIntoBinaryCode" to false the script fails whether there's a breakpoint or not. If it's true (the default), the script only fails when a breakpoint is set. I would like to be able to set a breakpoint to assist in debugging the package. For the time being, I can move the package to a different (non-Vista) OS, where it works fine, but I would like to be able to develop and debug on Vista.

Unable To Connect To A Remote Database From Vista
Jan 3, 2008We have a problem to connect to a specific database on our local network from a specific Vista machine. Several other XP and Vista machines are able to connect to the database without any problem. However, with the two latest Vista machines we received, it is impossible to connect to the database. In Microsoft SQL server Management studio express, we have the error 26 "error locating server/instance specified". We are sure the server name we entered is correct. We suppose the server is correctly configured as we are able to connect from other computers. From the machines that are not able to connect to the database, we can connect without problem to other databases. We also see the server, where the database is, on the network servers list in Microsoft SQL server Management studio. .
The version of the components are:

We also tried to disable the firewall.
Unfortunatetly, we are not able to connect to this database. Any suggestion ?

I€™m using a Script Component in SSIS to call a Web Service. The web service is wrapped, using the wsdl tool. The package works, on my local enviroment. Script component calls the web service and returns the data. I€™ll move the web service to another server, web service as Anonymous access is enable. Deployed the Package on a SQL server. But, when excuting the package I get the below error. I can view and invoke the web method and see data even. SSIS is running under a NT AUTHORITYNetworkService account. I know that the problem is permission, but how would I resolve the issue.

I have been working through the Microsoft Video Training at http://msdn.microsoft.com/vstudio/express/beginner/learningpath/ and created a web site using Tier 3 Lesson 8 as the model. My new web site which is a simple phone book applicaiton lets me read the table and select the record without any problem. But the update form lets me edit but when I attempt to Apply the update I get the following error.
Server Error in '/Phonebook' Application.
ObjectDataSource 'ObjectDataSource1' could not find a non-generic method 'Update' that has parameters: FirstName, LastName, PhoneNumber, BossGroup, Department, BossPickup, ShowInPhonebook, Type, Original_FirstName, Original_LastName, Original_PhoneNumber, Original_BossGroup, Original_Department, Original_BossPickup, Original_ShowInPhoneBook, Original_Type, Original_ItemID.
Description: An unhundled expception occured during the execution of the current web request. Please review the stack trace for more information about the error and where it originiated in the code.
The Stack Trace basiclly showes the same error as above.
Also, when I attempt to delete the record I do not get an error but the record does not delete.
What is interesting is that I can add a record so I do not believe that it is a security permissions issue. I have the ISS Authinication Method Enable Anonymous Access set on with full control.
If anyone has any insight as to why this is occuring please let me know.
Unable To Delete Duplicate Records In Database
Jul 20, 2005Hi,I have an sql database that has the primary key set to three fields,but has not been set as unique(I didn't create the table).I have 1 record that has 2 duplicates and I am unable to delete theduplicate entries.If I try to delete any of the three records(they are identical) I getthe message 'key column is insufficient or incorrect. Too many rowswere affected by update'.I am trying to do this within Enterprise Mgr.Any suggestion?Thanks much

Apr 20, 2015We have created and scheduled some test reports via Idera performance tool but we are unable to delete the reports. These are not custom reports and reports created with Schedule Email option in Idera. Unfortunately, I dera does not have any option to delete these reports and support is asking me if I tried this by deleting from SQL Server Reporting Services.I looked at the Reporting services but can't find any place to delete these reports. This link does not provide any support because I don't have these (Or Report Manager)----> Configuration Manager console, navigate to System Center Configuration Manager / Site Database / Computer Management / Reporting / Reporting Services.
URL....All I have is "Reporting Services Configuration Manager" under "Configuration Tools". How can I delete these reports from SQL Server Reporting services ?. Can I delete them from some tables in Reports databases ?. If so, what are the tables ?. I delete the jobs from SQL Server but the jobs are automatically created the next day emailing the reports again..
