I have written Custom delivery extension, I am trying to debug this by attching the process ReportingServicesService.exe , I am getting error "Unable to Attach to the Process.Access is denied". I am Admin on my sytem, ASP.net is also part of admin and debuggers group. I am using Visual studio 2005, reporting services 2005, ReportingServicesService.exe is also under my login

I am new to reporting services. I have created a report project in SQL Server BIDS. The datasource is SQL Server. I was able to see the preview of the report and could build and deploy the report. But when I try to run the report, it gives me error. So I tried connecting to Reporting Services through SQL Server Management Studio.
There I am unable to connect to the Reporting Services.
I am getting a very long error message. Giving below few lines which made sense to me.

Parse Error Message : An error occurred loading a configuration file: Access to the path c:Inetpubwwwrootweb.config is denied
I have given full rights to ASPNET, AuthenticatedUsers.

We have created and scheduled some test reports via Idera performance tool but we are unable to delete the reports. These are not custom reports and reports created with Schedule Email option in Idera. Unfortunately, I dera does not have any option to delete these reports and support is asking me if I tried this by deleting from SQL Server Reporting Services.I looked at the Reporting services but can't find any place to delete these reports. This link does not provide any support because I don't have these (Or Report Manager)----> Configuration Manager console, navigate to System Center Configuration Manager / Site Database / Computer Management / Reporting / Reporting Services.

Whenever I select =Sum(Fields!VCPU.Value) expression in Report Properties and assign it to a variable and assign that variable to a Text Box field I get the value as VCPU * (Number of VMs) which is not correct.
I am looking to get the value of VCPU from all 4 clouds above.
We have a request to build a report based on user input from an excel spreadsheet. We have a SSIS package that imports the data from Excel. This is run by a sql server agent job. Our stored procedure executes this job and runs this whole process just fine but when we execute the stored procedure from reporting services we get errors. Has anyone done this type of thing before and do you have any working solutions for how to get this reporting methodology to function?

Both server are configured separately with their own Report Server database. Now I want to configured a scale out deployment with a shared database.
On Server 1, I created a new Report Server database. On the second server, I change the database and joined the existing database. The problem is that the second server never shows up under Scale-Out deployment (Waiting to Join).

When I click on start no error message appears, it just seems to time out.
when I try to open the SSRS in BIDS ( VS 2008), it is displaying the code portion alone. If i click 'View Designer', it prompts me like "....already opened. Do you want to close?" Only XML content of report is displaying. if I click 'Viee Code' then it displays error like "There is no editor available for 'c: eport Sample. rdl'.Make sure the application for the file type (.rdl) is installed."how to correct this issue by installing or by upgrading?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI am trying to configure a reporting server on my laptop at work. This laptop is running Vista and IIS 7. When I install reporting services, the option for "Install the default configuration" is disabled (greyed out) during setup. The install is successful, but then when I try to connect in the Reporting Services Configuration Manager, I get an unhandled exception ("A WMI error has occurred an no additional error information is available."). If I continue, this error continues to crop up as I attempt to configure the Report Server. When I attempt to configure the virtual directory, the configuration manager crashes. Then, when I navigate to the reportserver page, I get a page that states:
Server Application Unavailable
The web application you are attempting to access on this web server is currently unavailable. Please hit the "Refresh" button in your web browser to retry your request.
Administrator Note: An error message detailing the cause of this specific request failure can be found in the application event log of the web server. Please review this log entry to discover what caused this error to occur.
Any ideas for a solution or workaround would be greatly appreciated.

I've created a SSIS package with a DataReaderDestination and a SSRS report that points to it.
I referenced these links during development and I have everything working as expected locally. **I changed the config files as stated on both my local machine and our server. My config matches the example exactly.

When I attempt to deploy my report project to the server I get this error message:
"An attempt has been made to use a data extension 'SSIS' that is not registered for this report server."
In the report manager data source properties page it reads:
"The data processing extension used for this report is not available. It has either been uninstalled, or it is not configured correctly."
In SQL Server Management Studio data source properties page SSIS is not a data source type option.
I've tried restarting both the Reporting Services and Integration Services on the server to no avail.
Any suggests? My problem is I can't get the SSIS to be recognized source on the server.
Hey everyone. I've been using .NET and SQL server for almost 2 years. I know most of the ins-and-outs, but we hit a bug that requires us to use remote debugging to track down. Like most people, remote debugging does not work out-of-box, but, I've actually tried most of the tips and I still cannot get it to work. Here is a summary of my problem:

Trying to remote debug a SQL Server 2005 database on a workgroup. I am not using CLR, just plain T-SQL.
In Visual Studio, I use the Server Explorer with a data-connection pointed to my remote server and it uses Windows Authentication. It correctly enumerates the available databases. "Step into Procedure" shows the "Run Stored Procedure" dialog with the various input/output parameters. Continuing, I get a dialog that says
"T-SQL execution ended without debugging. You may not have sufficient permissions to debug."
SQL Server is run under Windows Server 2003's window account: 'sqlusr'
Created user on local workstation called: 'sqlusr'
The 'sqlusr' on remote server and local workstation have same password, and are in the Administrator groups
'SERVERNAMEsqlusr' is in SQL Server's bulkadmin, dbcreator, diskadmin, processadmin, securityadmin, serveradmin, setupadmin, and sysadmin roles
Simply running Visual Studio 2005 Professional as my local user does not allow me to authenticate with SQL Server. Running: 'runas /userqlusr "devenv.exe"' will let me authenticate. So - user authentication is apparently working.
I imagine that 'Remote Debugging Components' are installed, since msvsmon.exe is available on the server.
RPC and RPC Locator are running on remote server and local machine
There are no firewalls on the local workstation or remote server (Windows firewall is totally disabled, no 3rd parties..)
Debugging a local SQLEXPRESS database on my workstation works.
'SERVERNAMEsqlusr' has full control over the debugging folder: 'C:Program FilesCommon FilesMicrosoft SharedSQL Debugging'
I haven't seen any errors in the remote server's 'Event Viewer/Application' list
The Stored Proc name I am executing does not contain any single or double quotation marks
SQL Server and Windows Server both share the same name 'SERVERNAME'
Edited DCOM Access Limits and Launch Limits in both the workstation and local server. Allowed 'Remote Access' for Everyone

I've had a SSL wildcard certificate successfully in use, unless it had to be replaced because of its age. Now I've imported a new certificate, but unfortunately I'm unable to set it up in the SSRS Configuration Manager Console (Web Service URL / Report Manager URL), because "We were unable to create the certificate binding".Â

Before I start peppering this forum with questions I'll start with one that might help me figure out others...
I'm trying to debug a custom component I'm developing. All the texts I've read state that the first thing I should do is attach to the devenv.exe process. When I choose this, the window that lists the available processes I can attach to does not contain devenv.exe.
Is this a security issue? Any other ideas? I'm an administrator on the box. Most of my career's been spent in UNIX environments, so perhaps I'm missing something basic I'm unaware of.

i have problem generating the SSRS Reports.Â
i have Report URL Â with 2 parameters-- @StartDate and @EndDate
when i hard coded the values and copy the URL in IE, Report gets generated

We have recently upgraded our .Net web application from a windows 2003 server to a windows 2012 server. Since this happened users that are trying to print a reporting services report is getting the error "Unable to load client print control". We are using reporting services 2012, but the application is using the 8 version of the viewer. The reporting services server did not change only the application server. The code for the application did not change.

Hello,
I have a stored procedure that on two fields it allows null. On the report, I have two DropDownList boxes that are populated with data, however, I would like the user to be able to have the option of not selecting an item from these list, thus passing null to the stored procedure.
When I goto "Report | Report Parameters" I have set these fields to "allow null" and "allow blank" and at the bottom I also gave it the default value of null.
When I run the report in preview mode, those two dropdownlist have a <Select a Value> and my assumption is since I want them to pass null, I will just leave them that way. However, when the report is ran, I receive an error saying "Please select a value for the parameter: (my parameter)". So it forces me to select an option at which I don't want to do.
How can I set this to pass a null?

I am creating simple report in ssrs and pass one parameter only. It will work perfectly (here user enter the parameter value). but i need that i should select the value in drop down box. i had tried many time and did different ways but I am unable to do it.
First i gave the parameter in my sql query in Data set (like WHERE COUNTRY = @COUNTRY) and i checked the Parameters tab in the data set. Here by default comes the Parameter Name: COUNTRY and Parameter value: [@COUNTRY].
Next i select COUNTRY Parameter in the Report Data Pane. and go to properties Here in General Tab: Name COUNTRY Prompt: COUNTRY, Select Get values from query in available values Tab (and also i tried with Select Get values from query in Default Value Tab) and Select Data set: Data Set1, Value field: COUNTRY and Label Field COUNTRY. And Click Ok
And tried to preview the report, it throwing below error
"An error Occured during local report processing. The definition of the report is invalid. The Report Parameter 'COUNTRY' has a DefaultValue or a ValidValue that depends on the report parameter "COUNTRY". Forward dependencies are not valid.

If i run the query on sql or use the view on ssr. The end qty is  not showing accurately.I ran it on another database it works perfectly. Then i noticed that the dex_row_ID of the second database is sequential as the date. But for the initial database it was not sequential as with the date.

I've a slight problem with configuring my Report Server. I have set up everything apart from the initialisation and and the Windows Service Identity, however when I select the panel for the latter I am presented with a message box displaying the following:

There was an error while switching panels. The most likely cause is an error retreiving WMI properties. The exception details are:
InvalidArgument=Value of '1' is not valid for 'SelectedIndex'.

I have tried re-installing the entire SQL server setup and this made no difference, I followed this by removing then reinstalling just the Report Service. Still nothing.
Any ideas as to what it is doing and how I should go about fixing it?

Basically i have 3 images capacity per record in my asp.net application. In there i am saving the image path with record id in database and image in my application folder.
Now i am creating SSRS Report in Report builder . In there i have taken one image control to show the images. In the Image properties in report builder i have chosen database under the select the image source field. then inside use this field i have chosen image url and in use this MIME Type i have selected image/jpeg. Now i have saved this report in report server folder.
Now while calling in .net web from through report viewer control. It is opening the report but wont showing the image.
I'm pulling data from Oracle db and load into MS-SQL 2008.For my data type checks during the data load process, what are options to ensure that the data being processed wouldn't fail. such that I can verify first in-hand with the target type of data and then if its valid format load it into destination table else mark it with error flag and push into errors table... All this at the row level.One way I can think of is to load into a staging table then get the source & destination table -column data types, compare them and proceed.
should I just try loading the data directly and if it fails try trouble shooting(which could be a difficult task as I wouldn't know what caused error...)

It prompts for login when i wanted to run the report and i used the same windows authentication to sign in
It will show me the parameters but when i click on view report it gives this error
