I have VS 2005 and SQL 2005 Developer ed (OS Vista) installed on my pc. When I uninstall SQL 2005, I encounter an error for SQL Reporting (someting to do with unable to read some file). Since then I am unable to reinstall SQL Reporting or uninstall SQL Reporting. I removed all the files from the directory but still I have not been able to do....Please advice...
Nobody could help with the problem. I eventually got a query to run after several attempts at deleting and recreating databases. Then, I was hit with the following error message:
Class does not support aggregation (or class object is remote) (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80040110 (CLASS_E_NOGGREGATION)) (Microsoft.SqlServer.SqlTools.VSIntegration)
Nobody could help with that either but based on posts with the same message, I tried uninstalling sql server. It wouldn't uninstall nor can I repair or reinstall. Uninstalling thru Add or Remove Programs only resulted in the program listing being removed from Add or Remove Programs. Most of the sql server programs are still installed. They can be run but continue to malfunction. When I try a new installation, I get a message that the programs are already installed.
Is a complete reinstall of windows xp, programs and data the only solution? I hate to believe it; but, at this point, I see no other choice.
I had to do a system restore to solve some other issues now my SQL Server 2005 doesnt work (SQL Server 2000 on the same machine [diffrent instance] does). I have tried to uninstall with add/remove programs but the instance doesnt appear there. I have tried to use the 'ARPWrapper.exe /Remove' command as described in KB909967 wich also fails. I have also tried to reinstall with no sucess. I also tried uninstalling SQL2000 and removing as many references as I could find, again now joy.
Is there a script somewhere to remove everything (although I would like to try and keep the SQL2000 instance)?
Long story short: Installed SQL Server 2005 Developers Edition along with Visual Studio 2005. Everything worked as it should.
Then there was a problem installing .NET Framework 2.0 Security Update. Fixed that by uninstall and reinstall of .NET Framework 2.0.
Now SQL Server does not work. So I figured uninstall/reinstall. Only problem is that it WILL NOT uninstall. I have tried to uninstall manually per KB article (9009967). That doesn't work either.
Neither the SQLCMD utility nor SQL Management Studio Express will function any longer but the DB engine still works when connecting via VB Express or EXCEL VBA. SQLCMD tries to connect to the internet then stops with no message. Problems started with SQL Management Studio Express whereby the screen dialog seems corrupted when I start to use New Query or try to copy and paste queries so I uninstalled and reinstalled SQL Express and seem to have made the problem worse. My system has Office 2003 with Business Contact Manager (ie MSSQL$MICROSOFTSMLBIZ) which seemed to cause a problem with the SQL Express install so I uninstalled Business Contact Manager but still no success. Anything special I need to do in the uninstall/reinstall that I might not be doing ? Thanks.
Previously, I have installed SQL 2005 developer edition simplyfied chinese successfully. But yesterday, I tried to install mobile client software factory. The installation process create a database as following: Create DATABASE [AdventureWorksMobileStaging] ON PRIMARY ( NAME = N'AdventureWorksMobileStaging', FILENAME = N'C:GotDotNetMCSF_728ReferenceImplementationsAdventureWorksToGoDBScriptsAdventureWorksMobileStaging.mdf' , SIZE = 195584KB , MAXSIZE = UNLIMITED, FILEGROWTH = 1024KB ) ( NAME = N'AdventureWorksMobileStaging_log', FILENAME = N'C:GotDotNetMCSF_728ReferenceImplementationsAdventureWorksToGoDBScriptsAdventureWorksMobileStaging_log.ldf' , SIZE = 265344KB , MAXSIZE = 2048GB , FILEGROWTH = 10%) But today, when I start my notebook, SQL server could not be started.
Then I uninstalled the SQL instance by start->control panel->uninstall...The uninstall process seems OK. Note that I only uninstalled the instance. Then I tried to reinstall SQL 2005. However it was reported a Performance Monitor Counter registry key mismatch error occures. I tried to fix it but failed. The problem is as following:
1, The installation process report a warning of low memory. My notebook has 512M memory. I have reinstalled SQL 2005 once successfully. At that time, the warning also shows, but it seems that this warning does not affect installation.
2, User type problem. The OS of my notebook is XP professional, which is upgraded from XP home edition. I login it using a domain user such as: "my company's domainmyaccount". I found it curiously that although I assign myaccount as an Administrator, it will automaticly changed to "SQL$...." account. I don't know why and when the account property is changed. But everytime, when I found, I will assign myaccount as an Administrator back.
3, Performance Monitor Counter registry key problem. To fix the problem, I firstly tried to run lodctr.exe in cmd window but failed. When I cd to c:windowssystem32 dir, I can ran lodctr.exe correctly. I check HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWindows NTCurrentVersionPerflib, the result is: "Last Counter"=dword:0000149c (11128) "Last Help"=dword:0000149d (11129) Then I check HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWindows NTCurrentVersionPerflib 09 and 004, the result is confusing. I can find counter and help key,but both keys contains really a lot of stuff as: (1) first page of Counter key: 1 1847 2 System 4 Memory 6 % Processor Time 10 File Read Operations/sec 12 (2) first page of Help key: 3 The System performance object consists of counters that apply to more than one instance of a component processors on the computer. 5 The Memory performance object consists of counters that describe the behavior of physical and virtual memory on the computer. Physical memory is the amount of random access memory on the computer. Virtual memory consists of the space in physical memory and on disk. Many of the memory counters monitor paging, which is the movement of pages of code and data between disk and physical memory. Excessive paging, a symptom of a memory shortage, can cause delays which interfere with all system processes. 7 % Processor Time is the percentage of elapsed time that the processor spends to execute a non-Idle thread. It is calculated by measuring the duration of the idle thread is active in the sample interval, and subtracting that time from interval duration. (Each processor has an idle thread that consumes cycles when no other threads are ready to run). This counter is the primary indicator of processor activity, and displays the average percentage of busy time observed during the sample interval. It is calculated by monitoring the time that the service is inactive, and subtracting that value from 100%. 9 % Total DPC Time is the average percentage of time that all processors spend receiving and servicing deferred procedure calls (DPCs). (DPCs are interrupts that run at a lower priority than the standard interrupts). It is the sum of Processor: % DPC Time for all processors on the computer, divided by the number of processors. System: % Total DPC Time is a component of System: % Total Privileged Time because DPCs are executed in privileged mode. DPCs are counted separately and are not a component of the interrupt count. This counter displays the average busy time as a percentage of the sample time. 11 File Read Operations/sec is the combined rate of file system read requests to all devices on the computer, including requests to read from the file system cache. It is measured in numbers of reads. This counter displays the difference between the values observed in the last two samples, divided by the duration of the sample interval.
I could not find the maximum value of the Counter key and help key, so I could not repair Last Counter and Last Help key as discribed at SQL 2005 help. Which item correspond to maximum value of the Counter key and help key?
I tried to correct Last Counter and Help key as: "Last Counter"=dword:0000149c (5276) "Last Help"=dword:0000149d (5277) But it also doesn't work.

I would like to reinstall the enterprise manager of sql server 2000,and i have currently sql server 2000 SP4 installed on it.I googled on it, and read that installation of enterprise manager ispossible from the setup disk, however, this is not possible: it rejectsbecause of the service pack. How can I reinstall enterprise manager, without haveing to uninstallsql completely?ThanksPrem
I had a problem with my existing SQL Server, so decided to reinstall. During installation it came up with an error saying there was another instance of reporting services (most likely from the previous installation).
The error log (the last part of it) has the below:

So my question is how do i reinstall reporting services and check its working as it should?
I have installed a copy of the SQL Server 2005 Developer Edition a few months ago. Two weeks I tried to apply SP2 and I got an error, and I thought a clean install would solve the problem. So, I went ahead to do the uninstall but I am not able to get pass MsDtsSrvr.exe as shown in the log below,
I had to make room on the system partition so I uninstalled SQL 2005 Ent. and reinstalled it in a different partition, which is mounted in c:apps. Since doing this, although MSSQL works fine, RS does not respond. During the reinstall, Setup reported that RS was "installed but not configured". I ran the RS Configuration Mgr and went through the config sequence. However, on the Initialization page, which has a red 'x' in the left panel, the local server is not listed -- the grid is empty.
The RS service is running, using the same credentials as MSSQL, the admin account .SQLExec. It logs a normal startup in the Event Log. However, on visiting http://localhost/Reports, I get a message saying that Reporting Services is not responding. SP2 installed OK on the system, and reported that all components were upgraded.
I've got a software development PC that was running SQL 2000 + Analysis Services + Reporting Service (sp4 from memory). I then installed SQL Express 2005 and later then SQL 2005 Standard (dev) + Analysis + Reporting and upgraded to Sp2 last month.
To help improve the performance of this poor little PC, I've gone to Control Panel and uninstalled SQL 2000 service. I've also used the SQL 2005 Surface area configuration tool to switch off the SQL Express instance from running. Practically, I probably should remove the $SQLExpress instance.
The problem I'm faced with is the SQL 2000 Analysis and SQL 2000 Reporting service is still registered as Windows Services and showing the the SQL Server Configuration Manager (2005), but there is no uninstall option in the control pannel. So I can't work out how to uninstall these software and services.
It is also apparent that there are a series of "files" in the C:Program FilesMicrosoft SQL Server80* directory like ..ToolsDevToolssamples*.* directory and others that shouldn't really be there if I've uninstalled SQL 2000 via the control panel.
Is there a SQL 2000 cleanup or removal tool that will help remove these old services and files?
Does anyone have some suggestions on how to cleanup my development PC without the full operating system installation?
1) I uninstalled Advanced SQL with Report Server to install 2005 SQL Developers Editions.
2) For some reason I am unable to completely uninstall Express Report Server.
3) Configuration Manager is still showing SQL Exp Report Server, even though I uninstalled Advanced Server.
4)I tried to remove though A/R programs (using my 2005 DE) - I see it listed but I receive the following error:The setup failed to read IISmime maptable the error code is -2147024893.
5) When I try to use 2005 Report Service Config Manager, I receive the following error: An unknown error in WMI Provider Error code 80040219 wmi provider.
So I am unable to setup my 2005 SQL DE Report Server.
Any ideas on uninstalling Express Report Server...This might be part of my problem.
Tried to uninstall SQL Server 64-bit on Windows 2003 remotely. All components uninsntalled properly except Reporting Services.
The log file lists the following error -
/***** ReportingServicesService!library:: e ERROR: Throwing Microsoft.ReportingServices.Diagnostics.Utilities.ReportServerDatabaseUnavailableException: The report server cannot open a connection to the report server database. Now I cannot see Reporting Services under Add/Remove programs (ARPWrapper.exe /remove). It is also not displayed when using Windows Installer Cleanup Utility (msicuu2.exe). I can start the default instance of RS via Reporting Services Configuration manager and it can also be also started under Windows Services. BTW, the IIS folder structure is under the default website for Reports and ReportServer is present.
So, now how do I go about uninstalling SQL Reporting Services when I cannot see it (as an installed program) without rebuilding the machine ?

I needed to re-install the entire sql server 2005, I used add/remove program. everything went normal, except reporting service. I deleted the entire upper sql server directory, rebooted the box, however, it still shows up in services, even though the path does not exist. I tried to reinstall it again, but it complains about name already exists. I cannot change the name, but I am not able to find how I can remove it and reinstall it properly.

All, While trying to access the Reporting Services in Mng studio.I receive the following error Cannot Connect To ServerA Client found response content type of 'text/html; charset=uf-8,but expected 'text/xml' While trying to access the report on reportmanager.I receive an error."The report server is not responding.Verify that the report server is running and can be accessed from this computer" Any suggestion?
I am new to reporting services. I have created a report project in SQL Server BIDS. The datasource is SQL Server. I was able to see the preview of the report and could build and deploy the report. But when I try to run the report, it gives me error. So I tried connecting to Reporting Services through SQL Server Management Studio.
There I am unable to connect to the Reporting Services. I am getting a very long error message. Giving below few lines which made sense to me.
Client found response content type of text/html; charset=utf-8, but expected text/xml.
Parse Error Message : An error occurred loading a configuration file: Access to the path c:Inetpubwwwrootweb.config is denied

I am unable to connect to reporting server , services are running fine .Checked in logs and found

We have created and scheduled some test reports via Idera performance tool but we are unable to delete the reports. These are not custom reports and reports created with Schedule Email option in Idera. Unfortunately, I dera does not have any option to delete these reports and support is asking me if I tried this by deleting from SQL Server Reporting Services.I looked at the Reporting services but can't find any place to delete these reports. This link does not provide any support because I don't have these (Or Report Manager)----> Configuration Manager console, navigate to System Center Configuration Manager / Site Database / Computer Management / Reporting / Reporting Services.
URL....All I have is "Reporting Services Configuration Manager" under "Configuration Tools". How can I delete these reports from SQL Server Reporting services ?. Can I delete them from some tables in Reports databases ?. If so, what are the tables ?. I delete the jobs from SQL Server but the jobs are automatically created the next day emailing the reports again..

I have written Custom delivery extension, I am trying to debug this by attching the process ReportingServicesService.exe , I am getting error "Unable to Attach to the Process.Access is denied". I am Admin on my sytem, ASP.net is also part of admin and debuggers group. I am using Visual studio 2005, reporting services 2005, ReportingServicesService.exe is also under my login
Hi, I'm messing with the /reporting option of DTExec. In BOL it states:
The optional parameter event_guid_or_name is a list of exceptions to the log providers. The exception specifies the events that are not logged that otherwise might have been logged. (dtexec utility)
Try as I might I cannot get any value for event_guid_or_name have the slightest afffect. I have tried all of the following:
Well, none of those made any difference. Information events raised from my package were still getting reported to the command-line so I'm obviously barkig up the wrong tree trying to name a particular event.
Please can someone tell me a value that I can supply for event_guid_or_name that will make a difference?

I am having SQL query which has inner join table from another Database. The below highlighted query shows its values.
/*Trend and Capacity Report*/ SELECT MEA.DisplayName AS Cloud, MEB.DisplayName AS VM, OS.PropertyValue AS OS, CONVERT(varchar(17),PD.DateTime,113) AS Date, VM3.VirtualCPUCount AS VCPU FROM Perf.vPerfDaily AS PD INNER JOIN vPerformanceRuleInstance AS PRI ON PD.PerformanceRuleInstanceRowId = PRI.PerformanceRuleInstanceRowId INNER JOIN vPerformanceRule AS PR ON PRI.RuleRowId = PR.RuleRowId
[code]....
My request is to calculate total capacity of all available Virtual CPUs, Memory and Storage from 4 separate clouds: 'cloud1','cloud2','cloud3','cloud4'
Whenever I select =Sum(Fields!VCPU.Value) expression in Report Properties and assign it to a variable and assign that variable to a Text Box field I get the value as VCPU * (Number of VMs) which is not correct.
I am looking to get the value of VCPU from all 4 clouds above.
We have a request to build a report based on user input from an excel spreadsheet. We have a SSIS package that imports the data from Excel. This is run by a sql server agent job. Our stored procedure executes this job and runs this whole process just fine but when we execute the stored procedure from reporting services we get errors. Has anyone done this type of thing before and do you have any working solutions for how to get this reporting methodology to function?
I have two SQL 2014 Enterprise Edition installed with the SSRS (native) role installed.
Both server are configured separately with their own Report Server database. Now I want to configured a scale out deployment with a shared database.
On Server 1, I created a new Report Server database. On the second server, I change the database and joined the existing database. The problem is that the second server never shows up under Scale-Out deployment (Waiting to Join).
