I installed Sql 2005 on a Win2003, Sp1 platform. Some problems but nothing too big. Next I attempted to install VS 2005 (June) CTP. The install faled and here's the error log:
The SQL SERver 2005 Standard Edidtion install CD and the MSDN CD distributedat the SQLServer Launch in Chicago are blank. Has anyone else had thisproblem and or requested replacements? If so, how.thanks muchMo
What's the deal with SQLServer 2005 Beta?I've just got a magazine with a free cover disk with VB 2005 beta, and also includes SQLServer 2005. I've installed it, but I can't get itto do anything. It seems to have installed ok, there are the data filesfor allthe usual system and example databases in place, and TaskManager shows that SQLServer is definitely running. However theonly tool that came with it is called 'Computer Management' whichallows configuration options on the network, and to start and stopSQL Server. There are none of the Enterprise Manager controls toaccess the database, create tables, create users and so on. Enterprisemanager from SQL Server 2000 seems unable to detect the newinstallation. What's going on? Are there client tools I can download to access thedatabase with?
I am trying to uninstall SQL Express beta so I could install the latest version but unfortunately I cannot remove it. I tried going through my control panel but it wasn€™t there, I tried using the uninstaller from Microsoft.com (http://msdn.microsoft.com/vstudio/express/support/uninstall/) but it gave me error messages like saying €¦€?
The setup has encountered an unexpected error in datastore. The action is RestoreSetupParams. The error is: Failed to read property "Installds" {"MachineConfiguration", "",WEBDEVELOPER"} from cache Unable to write property into cache:IsClustered Unable to write property into cache: "Is Clustered"
Then I click €œOK€? and then I got the following error:
The setup has encountered an unexpected error in datastore. The action is Write_CommitFlag. The error is: Unable to write property into cache: flagCommit Unable to write property into cache: "flagCommit" XmlRW error: Failure loading xmlrw.dll CheckAllProcedures() returned: 2
Hi, I have a installed SQL Server named instance by passing command line parameters to SQLEXPR.EXE on many computers. When I tried to uninstall this instance from one of the machines, the unistallation doesn't proceed after System Configuration Check dialog. The screen was blank for a long while and I had to use the Task Manager to stop it.
I'm able to unistall this instance from the other computers.
Also, I'm able to remove the instance by Clicking the Change option from Add/Remove programs.
I installed the beta version first and it was working fine, then I obtained a copy of SQL Server 200 Enterpirse Edition and installed it. But I can't connect to the beta SQL Server 2005 Instance on my computer through Enterprise Mananger, but I can in Query Analyzer. ANyone know why?
Hi. I have a strange problem. ASP.NET pages works, but when I try to estamblish a connection, I get an error: Shared Memory Provider:Connection was terminated pointing to Connection.Open();.I must say that this same code has worked before and I have some Windows App that works (connects to a the same MSSQL), and ASP.NET pages don't.I've tried to Disable the Shared memory from SQL Configuration Manager, but no luck. The only thing that I've notice is that when I go to IIS Manager and click properties on web site properties and under the ASP.NET tab i combobox I don't have anything, just empty combobox.I repeat that ASP.NET pages working, only when I want to contact the database, error raises.I've tried to instal framework again, hoping that combobox wan't be empty, but it's still the same. Please, help me with this. Iam getting desperate and a little bit angry most of all because this same code has worked before.Thanks.
I am trying to uninstall Sql Server 2005 Beta in order to upgrade to the Sql Server 2005 Enterprise Edition but without success.
Here is what I have already done:
I had VS 2005 2.0 Beta and Sql Server 2005 Beta installed. I wanted to upgrade to the Professional Editions so I uninstalled VS 2005 2.0 Beta and Sql Server 2005 Beta from Add/ Remove programs.
I have successfully installed VS 2005 Professional Edition but when I try to install Sql Server 2005 it gives me an error saying that SQL Server 2005 has detected incompatible components from beta versions of Visual Studio, .NET Framework, or SQL Server 2005.
This is home installation no tricky one. That's fine, I understand that. But I wonder whether I will be able to load any SSIS package already defined by mean of Visual Basic .Net after that message.
That message appears after I try to open BIDS IDE.
My SQL Server 2005 Beta has expired and I want to unistall it. When I try, it tells me I need to have .NET framework 2.0 before I can run setup. I do have .NET 2.0. And I uninstalled it and reinstalled it and I still get the error from SQL Server when I try to unsintall. This error is pissing me off and this stupid beta is taking up almost a gig of space. HELP.
I cannot install the new version of sql 2005 because it will not install when the beta version is installed. However when I try to uninstall the beta version it says it needs .Net framework 2.0. I have .Net framework 2.0 and so I am stuck with what to do next. Ideas anyone?
Ok, I have tried everything I can think of, but I am still getting errors to do with SQL server 2005 beta. Since the beta expired on all the VS.net 2005 I thought it would be a good idea to uninstall the lot to save some hard disk space...how wrong I was!!
I have completed the uninstallation instructions for my beta versions of SQLExpress (repeatedly). I have used the manual unistall procedures also. I have physically removed the SqlServer directory from the the Program Files directory. The result is the same. This message appears every time I try to to install the MS SQL Advanced package:
"SQL Server 2005 setup has detected incompatible components from beta versions of Visual Studio, Net Framework, or SQL 2005. For detailed instructions on uninstalling SQL Server 2005, see the SQL Server 2005 Readme."
The detailed instructions are NOT detailed enough.
I have uninstalled the .NET 2.0 package and re-installed it. The SERVICES window still lists the SQL Server as present even though it is not started.
I am trying to uninstall the SQL SERVER 2005 Beta version but I am getting following error.
SQL Server 2005 has detected incompatible componanets from Beta version of Visual Studio. NET framework or sql server 2005
I have SQL Server 2005 is already in my system but it is B version so I am trying to uninstall it but it is not getting Uninstalled. and my system is having visual studio 2003 .net
so how to uninstall SQL Server 2005 Beta version ?
I just want to run a webiste off my home computer with a dynamic address. It seems I can do all I want with the SQL that comes with vs2005 except being able to backup the DBIs the SQL 2005 that comes with vs2005 good enoh for everything I should want to do?? I'm a beginner. I'm working at the above making the tour page called authors using a pre loaded data base called pubs. I'm to the point where I'm trying to put the data in the table and getting a server error message SqlData Source could not be found. Can anyone help?
Hello guys! I have to develop a new web based project. It's a web portal for events. At the moment it's runnung on an Access database. The new version should be running on a SQL server - the desicion is: MSDE 2000 or SQL Server 2005 Express (Beta). What do you recommend? The webpages are developed under .NET 1.1.
I had installed a beta version of SQL Server (SQL Server 2005 CTP) and now I want to install a full version of SQL Server 2005 Developer Edition on my machine. I have properly uninstalled all the CTP componenets from Add-Remove programs and even deleted the registry data of that installation. I have also removed the related folders from the hard drive.
When I run the setup of the full version it says that setup has detected the beta versions of either .Net Framework, Visual Studio or SQl Server. Remove the beta components using Add-Remove programs and try again. Can anyone help me out of this problem?
HiI recently installed MS SQL Server 2005 Developer Ed. w/ SP2 on my XP... I use VS2005 to create personal websites. I was previously using SQL Server Express, and things worked fine by default settings. I am a beginner to web development and I really don't know anything about SQL Server. I'm guessing it needs to be configured somehow to work with VS, but I have no idea how to do that. I have an existing Web App which uses a database for login functionality, and everytime I try and log on I get this message:An error has occurred while establishing a connection to the server. When connecting to SQL Server 2005, this failure may be caused by the fact that under the default settings SQL Server does not allow remote connections. (provider: SQL Network Interfaces, error: 26 - Error Locating Server/Instance Specified)I made sure that the Server's database engine accepts remote connections but that didn't help. Does anyone have any suggestions?~Miro
When I try to attach an ".mdf" to a project by right clicking on the project name the software looks for an instance of SQL Server 2005 Express. How do I alter this behavior to have it look to my full copy of SQL Server 2005 which appears to be working correctly?
Do you now, How can I move database with datas to release version of sql server? Procedores backup/restore can't help becouse of unsuported version database.
