Urgent! DTS Packages Won't Execute Correctly When Scheduled

Dec 29, 1999

Please help,

I have a DTS package that consist of approximately 50 steps which pulls data from an as400 and populates a SQL 7.0 database. The package works perfect flawlessly when executed manually but won't run when scheduled.

The DTS package starts but hangs when it tries to connect to the as400, this is where the problem lies. The preceeding steps work fine but they execute against the SQL 7.0 database. I have client access installed on the server and configured. I checked and made sure the SQL server agent service was started and running also,I just can't figure why it works fine manually, but not when scheduled.

Any help would be welcome...

Getting JUST Date From Datetime Not Displaying Correctly

Jun 2, 2008

here is my select command:

SelectCommand="SELECT [JobID], [EmployeeName],

CAST(

STR(YEAR(DATEENTERED)) + '/' +
STR(MONTH(DATEENTERED)) + '/' +
STR(DAY(DATEENTERED)) AS DATETIME
) AS Date,

[From], [To], [Company], [Catagory], [Client], [Description], [TotalHours] FROM [JcpowersJobs]"

It will show correctly in the query builder test but when you load it up in the gridview it will show the date AND 12:00:00AM for every one of the dates

I tried replacing DATETIME with VARCHAR but it would insert spaces into the date where I didn't want them: EX: (12/04/1994 => 12/ 04/ 1994)

any suggestions?

Aug 17, 2015

Created a custom SSRS report. applied an interactive sort for a date field. I have the the formatting set to "MM/DD/YYYY" and it sorts everything correctly except for the year.

Example:

As you can see, the dates with 2014 aren't sorted correctly. I want it to sort the dates like:

11/06/2014
12/10/2014
01/07/2015 etc, etc.

Is there a way to get this to take into account the year? but also the month and day?

Need Help Making A Stored Procedure Run Correctly

Jun 13, 2007

Hi.  I have a stored procedure that I'm interacting with through vb.net...  the stored procedure logic, by itself, runs in query analyzer, but when I run it from the code side using the stored procedure, it dies.  Now, that said, I'm not a pro at writing a stored procedure, so you might look at this and gasp in horror.
I'm executing a three-staged query, all of which are using temp tables, the final of which is what I'm using for my datagrid import.  The temp table name I'm using doesn't work... it's not accepted in the SP and stops the execution of the query stating "invalid table name."
Not being a guru at this, I dont know why it runs in Query Analyzer but not w/i the SP.  Can someone look at this and help?
(If its grossly written and there's a better way, I wouldn't be offended to be told that either.  I"m looking for ways to write cleaner, faster code)
Here is the SP, any suggestions are very very appreciated.
Thanks so much!

Stored Procedure Using UNION Joins Is Not Displaying Correctly... Can Someone Help Me With My Logic?

May 16, 2007

I have a stored procedure using UNION joins on three SQL queries.
Sadly, I'm only now learning how to use Stored Procedures, so if this is a really dumb question, please forgive me.  I'm not used to big UNION statements like this either... usually I'm just programming websites to serve information out pretty simply :)
I need to return one result set, sorted by date... one complete result per day.  eg: 5/15/2007 |  XX | XX | XX | XX | XX | XX |5/16/2007 |  XX | XX | XX | XX | XX | XX |5/17/2007 |  XX | XX | XX | XX | XX | XX |
Currently, when I run the query, I'm getting three separate date values for each date...
eg:5/15/2007 |  XX | XX | 00 | 00 | 00 | 00 |5/15/2007 |  00 | 00 | XX | XX | 00 | 00 |5/15/2007 |  00 | 00 | 00 | 00 | XX | XX |5/16/2007 |  XX | XX | 00 | 00 | 00 | 00 |5/16/2007 |  00 | 00 | XX | XX | 00 | 00 |5/16/2007 |  00 | 00 | 00 | 00 | XX | XX |etc
How do I fix this?  I've looked through my query ad naseum and don't see anything that sets me off as "wrong".
Here is the stored procedure if you can help.  I'd really really love the help!

SQLServer 2005 JDBC Driver - Date Rendered Correctly On Local Environment(windows), But Not On Websphere Server (unix)

Dec 6, 2006

Hi,

We are trying to move our application from SQL2005 to SQL2005, we are using 2005 jdbc driver 1.1.

The problem we have is, when a date is retrieved from the database, only the year part got correctly, but the date is automatically set to January 1 of that year. The interesting thing is this problem doesn't occur on local development environment (developer's windows platform), it only happens when we deploy the application to production server (unix).

Does anyone know what is going on, how to fix it?

Thanks.

Urgent Help On Date Calculation

Jan 11, 2007

I have a table that hold a couple of fields.
STARTDATE - The day the service starts
FREQTYPE - This field tells me how often a schedule occurs. Here are the vaules -1=oncall, 0=days, 1=weeks, 2=months
FREQPERIOD - This is the number of days, weeks, or months between services. a value of -1 would indicate being oncall.
DayOfWeek, Day of week for week or month-based frequencies 0=sunday 6=saturday -1=if on call
WEEKOFMONTH - week of month for month based frequencies 1-4, value of 5 if it the last week of the month,

So what I need is for this report to look at the start date then figure out what the frequency is (days, weeks, months) then look at the frequency period (how many days are between services) what day of the week it falls on and list each service date on a report. There is an example at the bottom
I have tried numerous things and I can't get it and I need this asap today. I can provide what ever anybody needs, Many thanks.

Here is an example of the output that I need.

Service Frequency Every 12 weeks or 84 Days

Need To CalcuThe Number Of Days Between The Current Date And A Stored Date

Sep 22, 2006

I need help with creating a query that compares the current date with a stored date field. If the difference between the two dates is greater or equal to 5 days for example, I need to be able to return these records. I am not sure if this can be done through a query alone but any help and suggestions would greatly be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Urgent: A Simple Question About The Most Asked Topic - DATE

May 7, 2004

Hi,

The subject say it all :)

I have a field which stores date which the datetime datatype... The problem is that I am also getting time information in this stored field.

I just want to extract the date part in dd-Mmm-yy format (e.g. 07-May-04). I tried convert (char (8), MyDateField, 112) but it gives me date in yyyymmdd format. How do I get the results in dd-Mmm-yy format instead?

Thanks.
