Urgent! Report Server Stoped Working After We Removed A Drive From The System!

Any time you try to run a report now it crashes trying to create or find a temp file in a wierd path... exception is below... this happens for any request to the report server at all! all we changed was we removed a drive that was no longer used on the server! This path doesnt even exist! any idea where this path is stored or how to fix it? thanks!

Hi,
I was accessing my SQL Server DB through .aspx pages, but somehow suddenly SQL Server stoped allowing .aspx pages to access DB.
Heres the error message.
(Cannot open database requested in login 'lmpdb'. Login fails, Login failed for user 'akr'.)
this user and connection string were perfectly working. I tried recreating the same user and also creating new won, but the same result.
I also tried re-connecting the SQL Server.
Kindly help me to solve this problem.

Dear group:I have removed my hard drive from my laptop (which is now toast) andhave managed to recover nearly all the data from it by installing thedrive into my desktop. I was hoping to reboot the dektop to see if Icould load the operating system on the laptop's hard drive so I coulddo a manual backup of the SQL database on it. I have system database and user database file are present in G,H and W drive.The process is going to be - copy data from G to S, H to T, W to U. Rename G to X, H to Y and W to Z. Rename S to G, T to H and U to W. Reboot the servers. The original G, H and W will then be X, Y and Z. The old S will be the new G, old T will be H and old U will be W. My question is that after doing this whether my SQL server will start or not

I've been building and testing my reports and have found that if I decide that a report parameter should be removed, removing the parameter causes the report to fail.
If I remove a report parameter via the 'Report Parameters' menu, and I also remove the associated data dimension, filter expression and parameter check boxes, when I preview the report I get an error message. It appears the report is searching for the old parameter name even after it has been deleted.
This leaves me with the option of either restoring the parameter as it was, or rebuilding the report from scratch. I've done some investigation and the parameters seem to exist within the XML code that underlies the report despite the parameters being deleted.
Is there a way to avoid this problem?

I am able to run SSIS packages as SQL Server Agent jobs with a Control Flow items "File system task", if I move a file (test.txt) from a drive (c on the server (where SQL Agent jobs run) to a subdirectory on the same drive. But, if I try to move a file on a network drive, the package fail.
What I can do to solve this issue.

Hello,
SQL Server 2000 services getting stoped automatically when system get reboot. When system reboot they started and after 5 minutes they were getting stoped.
I went through the event log file and found that an error is occuring in sql server with number 17148.
And I also observed that there is a file called "C : P r o g r a m F i l e s V E R I T A S B a c k u p E x e c N T b e n g i n e . e x e" is executing during the maintenance process,which is stopping the sql server services(agent and olap)
This problem is generating error in sql server with above mentioned number.

I have to configure the drives i.e numbers of drives and sizes of each drives for the new server which will replacement for the existing server. Current server has following :
Drives Total Size
C: 18 GB
D :( DATA) 15.8 GB
G :( TEMPDB) 750 GB
H: (LOG) 64.9 GB
I: (DATA) 751 GB
J: (BACKUPS) 450 GB
In these i have one database of size (1TB) which doesn't need to there in new server. So what do i recommend for the drives. Thanks for SQL experts in advance

Hi all,
Has anyone run into this issue before?
My company uses database mail extensively for alerting and the like, and most emails sent have attachments. We've put in place procedures for removing emails older than a month from the MSDB database, however we've now had a client server completely run out of the disk space due to attachments being stored in the C:Documents and SettingsUserLocal SettingsTemp folder!?!
When I check the sysmail_delete_mailitems_sp sproc, it only removes entries in the MSDB tables, and doesn't remove these temporary files in the temp directory.
Does anyone know why SQL Server stores them in the temp directory of the service account user, as well as how we can remove them (apart from manually deleting the files), as we need to have an automated process for cleaning up emails, and at the moment SQL Server 2005 doesn't handle this very well.
I've checked this on our test server as well, and we're getting the same there, and this server is running the latest SP2 + hot fixes.

Installed SQL Server 2000 Enterprise trial a week ago on XP Pro. Installed new Seagate 80G HD; used Seagate's utility to copy old C: to new drive as new boot drive. All seems to work fine, except, when booting up, SQL server doesn't start. When I try to start it manually I get the following:
Could not start SQLSERVER service on the local computer. Error 3: the system cannot find the specified path.
1. What could be wrong?
2. How do I fix it?

It's so frustrated that I dont really knwo what is going on and why is that and I have tried ages to try to figure it out and nothing really helps.
I have already moved the data files of tempdb database to a drive with enough space (many GB space left still), but then again I got the problem which run out all of the system drive space when I run a query against a large table? Why is that? And how to figure it out?

I have several textbox in my report and I would like to shrink "Amount" textbox field and move it to the above line if i get blank line before it.
For Example: ----> Iam Using Textboxs Only
Account : 12312
Payment Date: 12/4/07
Paytype: credit

Amount : $233.00 ------> i got report result like this....
when i will get "Paytype" field to "Cash" I will suppress "card #" field totally
i got blank line in between ( Paytype and Amount) this is the logic.

Hi, I am able to create reports(.rdl) using Faircom c-treeSQL Server ODBC driver which in turn connects to the Faircom SQL Server.
However I'm facing issues while creating the Report model for the report builder. I would like to know if it is possible to create report models with Faircom SQL Server?

I have a database that was migrated from a SQL Server 2000 installation. The database was a remote server (call it ServerA) from the Reporting Services install (call that one ServerB). Both of the original servers can effectively be called dead at this point, and I want to redeploy both to a SQL Server 2005 installation (ServerC). RS is already installed on the new box, but is not initialized to any database. The SQL Server 2000 based database (from ServerA) has been restored and upgraded to 2005. The keys from the original RS host box (ServerB) have been successfully restored to the new server (ServerC). Unfortunately, the new server still sees the configuration of ServerB in the database, and thinks that I'm trying to do a scale out deployment. How can I force ServerB to be kicked out of the installation so that ServerC can properly take over?

Hi Everyone,
I have used the StoredProcedure as shown below:

When I bind this storedprocedure with Dataset, all the Fields Corresponding to table a and table b are displayed in the Dataset.Finally, when i bind this Dataset with my chart, the fields corresponding to table b are not displayed in the Chart.
The reason for that may be because Report Server cannot bind with multiple Datasets? Please Clarify.
If the Report Server cannot bind with multiple datasets, then how to call different StoredProcedures (according to Criteria) in a Single Report in Report Server project?

I am new to SQL Server Reporting Services 2005.
I have created a report project and deployed in my report server. After deployment i also viewed all my reports in asp.net application using report viewer control.
Now my problem is i want to move my reports to another report server.. how to acheive this ?. Also database name also changed. now i also want to change connection string of all my reports in new server ?. Please let me know how to change the connection string for all my reports in a single attempt ?

Being a very novice SQL Server administrator, I need to ask the experts a question.
How do I go about moving a database from 1 drive to another? The source drive (C is local to the server, but the target drive (E is on a Storage Area Network (SAN), although it is still a local drive for the server. I want to move the database from C: to E:. Can someone provide me with instructions?

Server A B C
Total Memory 1024mb 1024 mb 1024 mb
Min Server Memory :200Mb 196mb 196 mb
Max Server Memory 955 mb 980 mb 955 mb
Set working Set size 1 1 1
Priority Boost 1 1 1
All servers using dynamic memory option.
Server A and B are fine but When I reboot or stop and start Sql services on Server C it is recording the following error in NT Application log:
17122: Initdata:Warning:Could not set working set size to 1038848 KB.
Please help me how to overcome this problem.

I have some fields that must have data entered into them(i.e they shd not be left blank) & since the data has to be different almost everywhere I cannot set a default also. However I have defined these columns as NOT NULL, but still when data is entered they accept null values. WHY?
