I removed a role in the datasourceview of a datamodel. Later I removed the role in the reportmodel. There are always two roles for one relation. Now I only have one role left and I can't delete it anymore.
This is the error I get when building the project.
Error 2 The RelatedRoleID property of the Role 'invoicelineid' refers to the Role 'Gd1b03590-f98b-46aa-945d-c90ccd5d6028', which is not in the same SemanticModel as the Role 'invoicelineid'. Max generiek.smdl 0 0
When I try to remove the role I'll get an error : object reference not set to an instance of an object.
If I look at the properties of the role I see that when I open 'related role' there is nothing in it, except an ID: Gd1b03590-f98b-46aa-945d-c90ccd5d6028 and as name: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
I also tried to remove the whole entity but that resulted in the same error. It's not an option for mee to remove the whole model and autogenerate it again, but there is too much work in it already.
If I try to remove this thing in the xml itself it gives other errors and the model won't load anymore.
create all the maintenance scripts (SProcs) to my maintenance databases in an automated way?I have around 12 procedures which I don't want to consolidate in a single Proc and execute.Another problem which is coming to my mind is, I can';t use the below method to execute the proc, as I dont have RDP access to the servers.
I am thinking to ask for a central location where I can create a folder , dumping all my scripts and build the maintenance DB and creating all my procs, table, etc.
So every database i created has no system stored procedures. I didn't know how that could happen as I am not the person who installed sql2000. What should I do to get all the system stored procedures back?
This may be a noob question... but I am not able to create a data model and its frustrating me. :)
I made the Data Source... I made the Data Source View (just grabbed a table) and made the report model... but the model is empty >< When it autogenerated the model, it did yell at me about the table not having a primary key... do all the tables have to have primary keys???
I'm going through a very tedious process of documenting tables and fields for a third party database, with an eye toward creating lots of SSRS Reports. I'm making progress, but I was wondering if there's a slick way to export all the tables, fields and key relationships.
HI Thanks a lot for your answer I say my request but I don€™t know why anybody don€™t answer me I have a project about predicting a value about selling and buying of a good like t-shirts and I use data mining for my project ,so I should use time series algorithm ,that €˜s mean I have previous data about t-shirts for 11 months ago and now I should say for 12th month ,how many t-shirts are sale? My tables saved on the excel file and it is problem, because how should I use this table for building model? After building a model and structure and predicting the value of 12th month for this store in the mining model then I use this query in model in bi: €œSELECT PredictTimeSeries(amount) From [Forecasting]€? This query showed a column and prediction value. After all of that now I should show this value in the application so I use c# language for building it, so I use a form in c# then I add a button to form that with clicking on this button, I can connect to my structure and then show process of connecting in the panel, then with clicking on the other button I can use this query (€œSELECT PredictTimeSeries(amount) From [Forecasting]€? ) and after using I can see prediction value in the textbox, that€˜s mean the value of 12th month show on textbox. Form has two buttons: one button is for connecting to mining structure and other button is for sending PredictTimeSeries query to structure, one textbox, which is for showing the predicting value for 12th month for selling t-shirts, one panel for viewing the lift chart. Also you say You are building an application that programmatically creates mining structure and a model, and then you want to train the model and display some results. And I don€™t know how can I train my model, I should use a special code for it? If your answer is say, please explain that and then say that codes are for training. Please if you can send c# code for Sporadic of stage, please send that, I need to this code; my request is emergency for me. Thanks a lot i am very sad because any body don't answer me
I have a stored procedure that takes a date range and returns all the sales in that date range. I'm trying to create the report model for ad-hoc reporting. When I go to create the dataset view, it only lets me select tables or views.... how do I get around this?
I am new to SQL Server 2005 Analysis Services and would like to use the OLAP Cubes as a datasource to build Mining Model . However i would like to use a particular view of the OLAP cube that i have generated to be used as the datasource for the mining model . I find that i am not able to save the Cube View while browsing the OLAP cube in Business Intelligence Studio. Is there a way i can acheive this requirement.
Any ideas regarding this will be really appreciated.
New to the forum here. I'm having a trouble. My company is contemplating using Report Builder as an end user tool as opposed to giving everyone a copy of Visual Studio. I'm studying the feasability on this.
A problem I'm running into, is that it doesn't seem possible to use a stored procedure as a data source. All of our standard reports are based off of stored procedures. Now granted, I'm talking about just Report Builder. I know how to base a report off of a SP using reporting services in VS. So, my question is, can you create a report off of a SP using only Report Builder, and if so, the steps? Thanks guys!
I have a Report which has 8 stored procedures to get 8 resultant data sets . the stored procedures are almost similar such that they have only difference is the where clause and column getting returned.
So ,every stored access same set of tables and temporary tables getting created to store some set of active data derived from big table.
what happening is ,when i run the stored procedures individually in query analyser ,it is taking the time which is accepatable individually, but when i keep them in the same report. it is taking the time which is equal to sum of all the times taken by the stored procedures ran individually in query analyser which is some what not acceptable
can anybody through an idea, what can be done here. i already thought of locks and kept set transaction isolation level read uncomitted for all the stored procedures.but the time taking is same.
I have a local Reporting Services report that I am modifying to use a stored procedure.
Although I am executing a stored procedure in the dataset query window, I also have to run a SELECT statement to retrieve the fields from a table that will populate the report.
The code that I have in the dataset query window looks like the following:
When I execute this code, the only results that are returned SEEM TO BE the return code associated with running the stored procedure.
I thought about putting the SELECT code in the stored procedure and returning a table or a cursor from the stored procedure BUT it looks like tables are not supported as Report Parameter data types.
The stored procedure code generates Claim data that is stored in a SQL Table. The fields in this SQL table need to be retrieved by a unique record id to populate the fields in the report.
Does anybody have any suggestions as to how to go about doing this OR any suggestions that would help me resolve this problem?
I had developed all my reports using CRXI and stored procedures of MSSQL 2000. Now I am migrating from CRXI to SSRS. But i have a problem because of my report stored procedures. These stored procedures are complex and nested. When i try to use procedures in a report, it gives a error. When i comment out my EXEC line in my procedures, it goes OK.
I want to use 2 stored procedures in one report, but I could not find what is the way of doing this. I searched this subject on the intrernet, and I found some solutions. However, they used stored procedures in one stored procedure and used in one report. This is not the thing which I want to do, I want only do using 2 stored procedures in one report at the same time.
I'm very new to report builder and I don't even know if this is possible. Some of my users have asked if they can build an ad-hoc report to show say top 50 annual salaries. This has to be done soley with whatever report builder has for building ad-hoc reports as that's all the users have access to.
In my SQL Server Management Studio Express (SSMSE), pubs Database has a Stored Procedure "byroyalty":
ALTER PROCEDURE byroyalty @percentage int
AS
select au_id from titleauthor
where titleauthor.royaltyper = @percentage
And Table "titleauthor" is: au_id title_id au_ord royaltyper

NULL NULL NULL NULL //////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// I try to do an ADO.NET 2.0-VB 2005 programming in my VB 2005 Express to get @percentage printed out in the VB Form1. I read some articles in the websites and MSDN about this task and I am very confused about "How to Work with Output Parameters & Report their Values in VB Forms": (1) Do I need the Form.vb [Design] and specify its properties of the object and classes I want to printout? (2) After the SqlConnectionString and the connection.Open(), how can I bring the value of @percentage to the Form.vb? (3) The following is my imcomplete, crude draft code:
Dim connectionString As String = "Data Source=.SQLEXPRESS;Initial Catalog=pubs;Integrated Security=SSPI;"
Dim connection As SqlConnection = New
SqlConnection(connectionString)
Try
connection.Open()
Dim command As SqlCommand = New SqlCommand("byroyalty", connection)
command.CommandType = CommandType.StoredProcedure ................................................................... .................................................................. etc. //////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// From the above-mentioned (1), (2) and (3), you can see how much I am lost/confused in attempting to do this task. Please help and give me some guidances and good key instructions for getting the output parameter printed out in the FORM.vb in my VB 2005 Express project.
I want to use this as the data from which to build a report model. As linked servers don't show up in the Data Source View wizard, I created a view in SQL Server:
create view MyExcel as select * from XL_SPS_1...Sheet1$
Okay, great, now the view shows up in the DSV wizard and I can create the data source view. However, when I create a new report model based on this data source view, the Report Model Wizard tells me at "Create entities for all tables" that I've got an error when it processes dbo_MyExcel that "Table does not have a primary key."
I assume this is where the identifying attributes for the entities in the report model are taken from, so I really can't go further. Does anyone have an idea as to how to add a primary key to a linked server (Excel) in SQL 2005? Can this be done? Other than importing spreadsheet data to a SQL table, how can I get around this?
I want to know the differences between SQL Server 2000 storedprocedures and oracle stored procedures? Do they have differentsyntax? The concept should be the same that the stored proceduresexecute in the database server with better performance? Please advise good references for Oracle stored procedures also.thanks!!
The Accounting Department needed some reports, and this was back when I was first learning SQL, so I wrote a batch file that used osql to run a procedure. This procedure created a second batch file with several hundred lines to run another stored procedure and output to .rpt files complete with page breaks.
Now I'm revisiting this process having learned alot since then, and would like some input on how to handle this better. The batch file works, but I've never been one of those "if it's not broke" type of people. I'm one of those "If it's not broke, give me 5 minutes and it will be" kind of people
I'm specifically interested in something to replace this CURSOR that builds the batch file:
Code:
DECLARE @Dealer Varchar(20) DECLARE Dealer_Cursor CURSOR FOR SELECT Dealer_id FROM Dealer WHERE (Dealer_id != '-1') AND (isnull(Category,'-1') != 'NOBILLING')
OPEN Dealer_Cursor FETCH NEXT FROM Dealer_Cursor INTO @Dealer WHILE @@Fetch_Status = 0 BEGIN
/* @Folder is passed as a fully qualified path to the billing folder */ /* Logging and Command Window Notification, to be placed into DealerBilling.bat */
When you build a report and run the report if you click on a field it will drilldown into detail. How do you choose what detail you want it to bring back?
I have created and deployed a data source (which uses "Credentials supplied by the user running the report") and a model which uses this data source. Also I have built a report using Report Builder and all works well.
Now I wish to use Visual Studio to build a report, so I'm trying to create a data source from my computer which the report should use and I want it to use the model on the remote server. In the Report Wizard I am using "Report Server Model" and the following connection string:
IHowever I can't make the credentials to work. I've tried them all with no luck. What username/password must I use? Because so far nothing of what I have tried works.
I've created dsv that contain all fields from table database. in the smdl I've remove some fileds due to security. All fields in the smdl do not contain drill.
Issue: When I created calculated field in the report builder the field has a link. When I clicked the drill I saw all the record data including field that not in the smdl.
Questions:
1) Can I remove the link from the calculated fields?
2) Can I prevent from users drill to fields that not in the smdl?
Is it possible to dynamically refresh the report model of the report builder?
could it even be using code with any of the interfaces?
When we add a table or add a column to the table in database , will the report model get refreshed automatically or do we need to do it externally. If so, can we use any of the objects and write a custom code in VB.
Semantic query execution failed. The 'PerspectiveID' custom property for the 'query' perspective is either not set or is not set to the string data type.
I have a report model that I am trying to deploy using report manager web service. A folder is created by the administrator to place all my SSRS reports. I deployed .rdl files using the "Upload file" function in "Report Manager". All the SSRS reports work fine but when I tried to upload .smdl file (report model file) using the Report Manager's "Upload file" function it gave me the following error message.
The permissions granted to user 'xxxxxxman' are insufficient for performing this operation. (rsAccessDenied)
Does this mean I only have permission to upload .rdl file but NOT .smdl file to my designated folder?
I'm having some difficulty linking a custome drilldown or clickthroug report to another report that I have already created in report builder. I followed a MSDN article found at http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms345226.aspx but I cannot find the " Select a page area, select Drill-through reports" option in report manager. Does anyone have a better explanation on how to do this? I'm assuming that when you create the clickthrough report there has to some sore of filter on it that relates to the item of the clickthrough. I guess I'm I little confused, any help would be great. Thanks.
This Might be a really simple thing, however we have just installed SQL server 2005 on a new server, and are having difficulties with the set up of the Store Procedures. Every time we try to modify an existing stored procedure it attempts to save it as an SQL file, unlike in 2000 where it saved it as part of the database itself.
I have a few textboxes on a page that I would like to use as a search page and have clients shown in a gridview that meet the users entry into one or more of the textboxes. I have ClientID, LastName, FirstName, Address, and Keywords. How would I build a stored procedure to allow me to do this?
