Does anyone know of a link or list that has all the parameters for the "rs:" section of the URL access parameter, except for the ones in the Microsoft books?
Hi all, Is it any Microsoft certification is there for Sql Reporting service ,If is there means please send me the related link to me!!! Regards, P.Veera Vinod.
We currently have a web server running SSRS 2000 and are looking to migrate this to a newer server using the same version of SSRS. My question is, how I would go about migrating the reports, subscriptions, etc. Our database is on another server for both ReportServer and ReportManager. I would like to be able to simply attach the new instance to the existing database and have everything work exactly the same. I know we have exported a key from our server. I don't know if this is something that would be needed or not.
Any help that can be provided is greatly appreciated. I'm sure this is all covered in some mountain of documentation somewhere, but I'm hoping someone will be kind enough to provide the quick answer. If not, I will head toward our documentation.
Does anyone have a link to a good tutorial on how to create a drill down report in SSRS 2000. I found one for SSRS 2005 http://www.c-sharpcorner.com/UploadFile/MohanKumar.R/DrillDownReport02212008083910AM/DrillDownReport.aspx If I had the AdventureWorks Db I may be able to figure it out.
I know how to create a hyperlink but I need the toggle (+/-) for my latest endeavor.
My book "Hitchhikers Guide..." didn't help me out.
I'm trying to install Reporting Services 2000 on Small Business Server 2003(which includes windows server 2000 sp3). I got the error message after setting the virtual directory folder:
I want to create reports in SSRS that use cube in SQL 2000, I don't know which type of connection that i have to use,
I tested it with Microsoft SQL Analysis Services, means I connect to my cube with this type , everything is ok in developpement (create MDX query , make reports...), but in production It gives me this error message (cannot connect to the datasource),
windows 2003 SP2 with AD, IIS with SSL, SQL 2000 SP4, RS SP2.
I am trying to deploy a report from visual studio .net 2003. Error message: not able to connect to https://servername/reportserver I can access the reporting website on IE https://webserver/reportserver, and I can up load reports with site interface, but can't use designer 2003 to deploy.
I have a SSRS 2000 report that when I view the report data does not refresh until I press the refresh data button in the report. Clearly this can't be right and to expect users to press the refresh button every single time is also rediculous.
HAs anyone had this problem before and know what to do.
My report links to a SQL server and is not showing the latest information. If I open it now and look at the report, close it and open it again ina few hours it will show the same report as I looked at originally. When I push the reports refresh button then the data refreshes and shows all the information.
The execution for the report is already set to: Do not cache temporary copies of this report
Why does this happen? I have about 40 reports that work perfectly but this one is giving me problems, any one got any ideas for me? Please help.
I am working in SSRS 2000, and I have a report using a table. In the footer of the table I want to do a calcuation. I have a textbox in the table called "SumAmtCurrent", which is a sum value for a field in my dataset. I have another field in my dataset, "TotalRevCurrent", and I would like to take this second field, subtract the value in the textbox "SumAmtCurrent", and have the result in the footer of the table. I tried to reference the textbox using ReportItems!SumAmtCurrent.Value - but that gives me the following error
"...The value expression for the textbox €˜textbox7€™ refers to the report item €˜SumAmtCurrent€™. Report item expressions can only refer to other report items within the same grouping scope or a containing grouping scope..."
Is there a way I can get this total into my report?

I am new to this forum and had checked this forum for this problem that I am having. Although there were a lot of informative articles that I found useful, I still couldn't resolve this problem.
I am having a little trouble trying to use the Sum function to get the totals that I need for a project that I am trying to accomplish. The scenario is below:-
This is the report image that I want to produce.
Region1 policy1 policy2 AgentType1 Total Total Agenttype2 Total Total AgentType3 Total Total Region1's policy1 Total Region1 Policy2 Total
Region2 policy1 policy2 AgentType1 Total Total Agenttype2 Total Total AgentType3 Total Total Region2's policy1 Total Region2 Policy2 Total
(this is where i am having the problem) AgentTotals AllAgentType1Totals Policy1Totals Policy2Totals AllAgentType2Totals Policy1Totals Policy2Totals
TotalforallRegions RegionsTotals
I managed to get all the information I needed in the Report except for Agent Totals. I am having a little bit of a logic problem on how to get the totals for a particular agent type with each policy.
Right now my layout only has ONE grouping which holds the region types. my dataset basically is how the report is going to look like without the totals.
Is there an expression I can use that would identify what type of agent that is and then add the total ?
kinda like the following:-
=IIF(agenttype = "AgentType1", Sum(all agent totals for policy 1), "")
I had been looking around for some info about this.
So far I understand that the showhidetoggle parameter determines which drilldowns are visible or hidden.
I am trying to use the render method, and try to show the drilldowns on my html page.
First question:
How does the showhidetoggle work in the URL or even show an example of how the drilldowns work through showhidetoggle ? In other words, how does the showhidetoggle knows which one to display if I have only one string value ? Maybe there is another way to do this or another way to define this syntax ?
Second question:
How do i determine the number or the string parameter without having to look through html ? is there a way to do this so that I can pass this string to the parameter in the ASMX ?
I am getting this error when sending an excel file via email.
Failure sending mail: The Report Server has encountered a configuration error; more details in the log files
The scheduled job which emails an excel spreadsheet has been working and now it doesn't. I've done some research and this KB article is close to the error that I'm seeing however the win 32 error 87 is different. http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=842423
Has anyone any idea's? I have not applied the hotfix for SSRS 2000 sp2.
Log file has this.

I am not understanding this part of the problem. I am currently reusing a stored procedure that has a ".." as part of the select statement.
I can't put the select statement up here due to privacy but I have found the error where the error states the following:-
Invalid Column Prefix: AM, invalid table name.
I noticed that part of the select statement was the following:-
AM..Field1
I tried executing this stored procedure in the query analyzer and it works fine, but when I tried executing it in SSRS, it gives me the error. After searching through the internet for possible causes, I found out that it was the ".." was giving the error. Anyone knows why ? I found out that it was supposed to bypass any users and permissions to the table.
when i export to excel reports having a drill-down, in the excel file i don't have the possibility to drill down data. i have memory that once it was possible. does anyone know how to help me? is it possible that a service pack or any updating could have change configurations?
I'm am writing a report in SSRS 2005 on a local PC that uses cubes in AS 2000 on another server as a datasource. I am using the Microsoft SQL Server Analysis Services Extension (OLAP9) to connect to the cubes using windows authentication. I can save and preview the report in visual studio and publish the reports on IIS on my local PC with no problems but when I go to view the report in IE, I get the following error:
An error has occurred during report processing. Query execution failed for data set 'dataset'. Unable to recognize the requested property ID 'ReturnCellProperties'.
Have read various articles on the net with no conclusive explanation.
I have seen another post on this forum that suggests using OLEDB for Analysis Services instead but if I do this it doesn't allow me to use the MDX visual query designer. Creating the report using OLAP9 then changing to OLEDB and pasting in the query code doesn't work so well either.
I went and read http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms159219.aspx about data sources supported by SSRS 2005 and it should be ok.
I am using sql server 2005 with the latest service pack 2.
Here is the scenario: I have a report in SSRS 2005 that uses an OLE DB connection to send a MDX query to an AS 2000 cube. The report has been working fine for weeks. When the report ran today, it returned the row and column metadata, but not the cell values.
I ran the MDX query separately in the SSRS query editor pane, and it returns all values properly. I was also able to perform the query using ProClarity, so it appears that the issue is between the result set and SSRS.
We are in the process of upgrading a SQL Server 2000 database to 2005. For the mean time, we're trying it out on SQL Server Express 2005. My question is, can reports in SSRS 2005 pull data from SQL Server 2000 in case both are installed side by side in the same machine and the 2000 version is the default instance while the 2005 express edition is the named instance?
Has anyone managed to crack getting multi-select parameters to work from an SSRS 2005 report which is querying an SSAS 2000 cube.
SSRS 2005 does support Multiselect, however SSRS 2000 did not. Given that i am querying an SSAS 2000 cube, i get the impression that i am also limited to SSRS 2000 functionality regarding to multi-select parameters.
Is there anyone out there that ever managed to get a wor around, say by using filters on a table or anything really that coud simulate the same behaviour....
Got a good question to ask. At the moment, I do not have any control over the reporting server webserver. This is due to the company's policy. The webhosting is controled by antoher department.
Anyways, the question is the following:- Is there a way to customize the config file for the htmlviewer (css style sheet, rendering and others) for a specific client without affecting the rest ?
There are about 20 clients on a server, and I am responsible for one of them. I had customized my config file to render or allow only two formats for this particular client. Since I don't have any control over the websever, I just can't replace the config file without affecting the others. How do i do this ? I just want th config file to ONLY affect a certain client's HTMLViewer and not the others. I tried to do some research on this, but came up empty handed.
SQL server 20005 SP2 is install in my WIN XP machine. I implement a SSRS report and try to deliver the report to a share folder in window 2000 server.
I create and set permissions on a shared folder as per the information in http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms345228.aspx. The account that I use in subscription is local admin account in the target machine.
I have try path \<servername>c$XXX and \<servername>XXX. Both is not ok.
I find following error message in the log file of reporting service.
ReportingServicesService!library!d!04/29/2008-00:03:40:: e ERROR: Throwing Microsoft.ReportingServices.FileShareDeliveryProvider.FileShareProvider+NetworkErrorException: A logon error occurred when attempting to access the file share. If I try to deliver same report to a share folder in WIN XP in the same way. It is ok.
I have an already published application running several MS SQL Server 2000 Reporting Services report. I need a way to find from either the reporting services log or the application server (IIS) logs or windows log to know the frequency of each report being used.
Based on this info, the business needs to know which reports are being used and to what extend? How can I acheive this?
I have already got the IIS logs and it did not give the required info. I have looked into the Reporting Services logs but it does not provide the info either.

Is it possible to write SSRS 2008 reports to run on an existing SSRS 2005 server?
If yes, what do I need to do to be able to write SSRS 2008 reports on my developer PC that will run on the SQL 2005 Server (which also has SSRS 2005 installed on it)?
I installed Visual Studio 2008 beta on the development PC and it appears that it needs SSRS installed on it too. So I installed SQL 2008 SSRS (SQL Server Reporting Services) and SQL 2008 Workstation Components onto the developer PC. Next I run the SQL 2008 "Reporting Services Configuration" tool. When I click on the "Web Service URL" section it hangs indefinitely and I have to force it closed.
The developer PC is Windows Vista Business.
Any suggestions on making this work, or any other information that you can think of that would allow me to use Visual Studio 2008 and the SQL 2008 "Report Designer Preview" tool to develop SSRS reports that will run on the SQL 2005 SSRS server?
Thanks in advance. What is maximum SQL Server database (*.mdf) file size with SQL Server 2000 as part of Microsoft Small Business Server 2000? (Database files were limited to 10 GB in SBS 4.5 with SQLServer 7.0... has this changed?).
