Hi,
Anyone
can help me on this? I am using MS SQL 2005 Express Edition. When I am
installing my 3rd party software that needs to connect to the database,
i get this error . Thanks.
Validation failed:
1. No mdb connection.
2. No Microsoft SQL server connection.
3. Microsoft SQL Server collation is not valid.
4. Microsoft SQL server authentication is not valid.
When I create and query the XML file using LINQ, everything works just fine. I also get no compilation errors. But when I try to add the XML file to a database-field of type xml(CONTENT dbo.Common7), I get following error: XML Validation: Declaration not found for element 'http://www.mycompany.com/xsd/PageTemplate:template'. Location: /*:template[1] Any ideas? Thanks,Thomas
Hi, I'm adding a field from a staging database into a mart database which is built using SSIS. I've added the field with relevant lookups (the field is called Business) but I am getting the following error from the Source Load Task:
Error 2 Validation error. DFT Load Vacancy: MI Stage Vacancy Source [1]: The output column "Business" (6336) on the non-error output has no corresponding output column on the error output. Vacancy.dtsx 0 0
The thing is, I've looked and it DOES have a corresponding output column on the error output. Is there something I'm missing here?
Error at Data Flow Task [DTS.Pipeline]: The "runtime connection "OleDbConnection" (110)" in the connection manager collection, Connections, of "component "OLE DB Destination" (102)" does not have a value for the ID property. I have an XML Source which seems properly configured on design mode. But when I try to execute the DataFlow I have the following Error Message:
"The Output "AccidentData" (outputID) contains a RowsetID with a value of AccidentData that does not reference a data table in the schema"
"VS_NEEDNEWMETADATA"
I don't understand what this error message means, I have another dataflow which uses the same XML Data file and XSD file which works properly, the difference is that the working data flow does not include all columns.
I recently received a new laptop at work with windows vista on it. Having BIDS 2005 installed I wanted to modify an existing package (stored on our network) that I developed months ago. But I can't execute this package on that machine as I get this error: [Connection manager "MyConnectionManager"] Error: SSIS Error Code DTS_E_OLEDBERROR. An OLE DB error has occurred. Error code: 0x80004005. [Log provider "SSIS log provider for SQL Server"] Error: SSIS Error Code DTS_E_CANNOTACQUIRECONNECTIONFROMCONNECTIONMANAGER. The AcquireConnection method call to the connection manager "MyConnectionManager" failed with error code 0xC0202009.
I really don't understand this because the connection manager works ok. Plus I use package configurations with settings stored on a SQL Server 2005.
Also, the same package works fine on the older machine.
So i have been using simple DTS packages for a few weeks with Visual Studio 2005. The only change i've made is that i've recently installed SP2 to Management Studio. Now everytime i try to run or create a DTS package i get the following error:

I am trying to import a few tables into a database and when I run the import wizard, it gives an error at the Validating stage. Below are the errors. I don't know why this could be happening.

I have a package which takes a text file and imports data into a SQL table. It returns the Package Validation Error:
Error at Data Flow Task [SQL Server Destination [1430]]: Failure inserting into the read-only column "ZipCode".
The column ZipCode in the sql table is a varchar(50) column. I do not understand why it thinks the column is a read only column; if someone could shed some light on this I would greatly appreciate it.
The script component is configured to pre-compile the script, but binary code is not found. Please visit the ide in script component editor by clicking design script button to cause binary code to be generated.

I'm developing a SSIS package and am coming across this problem:
"Error at myTable [DTS.Pipeline]: component 'OLE DB Destination' (156) failed validation and returned error code 0xC020801C.
Here's the situation with my package. It basically consists of a bunch of tasks to build a database and populate the tables from an Excel file.
The first task runs a SQL file to create all my DB tables, etc. The next set of tasks import data from the Excel file into the tables. All tasks have precedence constraints so that the SQL file will build the DB tables first.
Here's the problem. Everything works perfectly if my database ALREADY exists. The problem comes when the database does not exist. It seems like the SSIS does some sort of schema validation on my dataflow tasks to ensure that everything is ok.
Is there any way to bypass this validation so that my SSIS will run ok without the DB already existing? I know that everything WILL be ok because the ExecuteSQL task will create the structure for me.
I used to work with SQL 2000 DTS, and i never ran into this problem before. Previously, i could run the DTS no problem, however, i just couldn't open the transformations if the DB didn't exist.
Error at Data Flow ACH Validate File and Header Info [Lookup ACH Batch Number [506]]: input column "ID" (571) and reference column named "BANKBATCHNBR" have incompatible data types.
"Lookup ACH Batch Number" is the name of the lookup transformation. input column "ID" has a string data type. reference column "BANKBATCHNBR" has a varchar(50) data type. can someone please tell me how i should go about debugging this validation error? thanks.
I created a new SSIS Package. I want to send an e-mail when an error occurrs.
I set the OnError event to send an e-mail. I then decided to test this so I dropped my input SQL table. When I drop the import SQL table I get a Package Validation Error and I don't get my e-mail.
Am I making a mistake. I want to always send an e-mail when an error occurrs in my SSIS package.
By the way I did add an e-mail at the end of my SSIS package to verify my SMTP is working - it did.
I have a package which has 5 connection managers. One of the Connection Manager has incorrect server name, which results in Package Validation error. Which event handler should be used to run on such errors for OnError Event handler doesnt work @ all.

I created a package loading Excel file. I developed the package using test excel file c:TestTest.xls and use a config file to assign actual folder (the file names will be got from a foreach loop container) when run it.
However, the package cannot run with a configure file which specify a different source folder and still ask for test.xls. It's not possible that it require reset the folder and file every time when it's used for a new folder.

I am learning to use SSIS for creating packages. I am getting the following error when I try to execute my package...
Package Validation Error
Error at Data Flow Task[DTS. Pipeline]:The "runtime connection "FlatFileConnection "(122)" in the connection manager collection, Connections, of component "Flat File Destination ("120") does not have a value for the ID property. Error at Data Flow Task[DTS.Pipeline]: One or more component failed validation.

I'd appreciate if someone can help me with this. Do I need to change some settings? Also, what does the number in brackets indicate, say in FlatFileConnection(122)? Is it valuable information while debugging?
Just to give an idea, my package is like this -
source FlatFile -> Derived Column -> Lookup1 ->Lookup2 ->OLE DB destination(SQL server DB table)
Lookup1 and Lookup2 have error redirected to one flat file destination each.
I am taking a five-digit zipcode from a database where it is stored as an int, and I would like to store it as a char(5).
I set my OLE DB source to pull from a proc as:
Code Snippet
SELECT
cust.CustomerID as CustomerID, case
when cust.Zip > 99999 then Null when cust.Zip < 0 then Null else REPLICATE('0',5 - LEN(cast(cust.Zip as varchar(5))))
+ cast(cust.Zip as varchar(5)) end as CustomerZip
However, when I do that, SSIS sees the external column as a string of length 8000, and insists on giving me a truncation warning on validation.
I also tried bringing the Zip field in as an int and doing a data conversion in the SSIS data stream. This worked great until I added a Derived Column transform to do the REPLICATE function as above to add leading zeros to the zip code. Once I did that, SSIS decided that there was a chance of truncation again and started with the truncation warnings.
BTW - I don't think the TRIM() function is really necessary in the above, but I tried it out of desperation and it made no difference.
This is really starting to drive me nuts. Does anyone have any thoughts on how to convert an integer zipcode to a char(5) string with leading zeros without incurring these validation warnings?
I'm developing an PipelineComponent (ComponentType.Transform). When I try to execute this component, the following error is thrown:

Can anyone help me, please? The "Integration Services Error and Message Reference" didn't help me much.
I have set a validation error when changing a property in the advanced editor. Unfortunately this validation error is only displayed when you change tabs or press the ok button in the editor.
I have tried calling the validate method within the setcomponentproperty method but the error only show up when ok button is pressed or tab in editor.
I don't want to throw an exception, is there any way you can show a validation error immediately once the user has clicked away / entered / clicked to another property field after entering a property value in the advanced editor that is incorrect.

I have an SSIS package which calls two other SSIS packages as part of it's control flow (using the Execute Package task). Both packages are stored in the same parent folder on the same server. The first child package runs successfully, the second does not. It ran fine for days until yesterday. Not sure what I might have done. I have tried to delay validation and recreate the connection. No go. Has anyone else run into this. I am running SQL 2005 RTM and VS 2005 RTM on XP Pro SP2. Any suggestions would be welcome.
I'm developing a database-driven program using SQL server 2000 and Visual Basic 2005.
Most of the guys say professional programming is doing the validation stuff (such as the constraints and data integrity stuff like" [0-9][1] " and the use of LIKE IN keywords etc.) in the databse itself.
say i did the data validation contraints in SQL server itself. and now i connect the database with the interface made in 2005. and say a person enters some invalid data through the interface. but the error messages are generated by SQL server. how am i to display the SQL server generated error messages in the VB made interface??
PLS HELP ME .. if the question is not clear pls tell so that i can explain it further.

I have a message that is validated using a schema.
If I send the message that is not compliant with the schema, the message is not enqueued on the target queue but it is send back to the Initiator queue and the message_body contains the description of the Error.
On the Initiator queue I have activated a SP that is I used to end the conversation and log the error.
One of the information that I need to log is the original XML message that causes the validation error so I can check it.
It seems that in the moment I'm on this SP, activated when there is something on the Initiator queue I have no memory of the original message or at least I'm not able to find it.
We have a new Win 2008 Enterprise x64 server running SQL 2008When we try to connect to the server using Windows Authentication, from a user account which is a domain administrator, we get the following message:"Token-based server access validation failed with an infrastructure error"What needs to be configured here for this to work ?
While Creating a script task in Control Flow, I am getting "Package Validation Error". Here is the complete message:
Error at Validate File and Load Data: The task is configured to pre-compile the script, but binary code is not found. Please visit the IDE in Script Task Editor by clicking Design Script button to cause binary code to be generated. (Microsoft.DataTransformationServices.VsIntegration)
As mentioned in the message, I opened the script IDE and added the code I need. When I close the VSA IDE, package designer displays the same error message.
The worst part of whole story is that if I close the package designer and reopen it, I find that all the code I wrote in the script task has been deleted by the package designer. This is not at all acceptable as I saved the package the and still lost all my work. I did all the coding from scratch for that task.
Please respond if anyone faced similar problem.
Thanks in advance!
Anand
PS: If any one from Microsoft is reading this, please see what you guys are coding there. Due to the buggy software you deliver, I am loosing my credibility.<P< P>
Many a times see the below error in SQL Error log.
Login failed for user 'NT AUTHORITYANONYMOUS LOGON'. Reason: Token-based server access validation failed with an infrastructure error. Check for previous errors. [CLIENT: ]
Is this something to do here?
Note: If I run the below statement I know that the SQL Error log entry will go off, but wanted to know the real significance of this error?
CREATE LOGIN [NT AUTHORITYANONYMOUS LOGON] FROM WINDOWS
There are certain errors that does not come during compilation and it shows during execution because of late-binding concept implemented in SQL Server from 7.0 version.
The problem is when Tables are not there, SPs are created. And there is no option where we can set like 'Validate object resolution during compilation"
There are lot of SPs that are in invalid status because the tables are really not there and SP needs to be modified to reflect the correct table name. In Oracle, if I have to find the list of objects that are in invalid state (because of object resolution problems), it was possible. How do I do it in SQL?
I need a listing of all objects in my database that is in invalid state. Searched in NET but there seems to be no supporting tool also that lists invalid objects.
Pl let me know whether there exists a way by which I can get to know the invalid object lists in my SQL 2005 database
I am working on a query application, and I want to do syntax validation before I submit the dynamically sql to the database. The expression will include ANDs, ORs, IN, (,),>,<,etc. Anyone done this already? any code snippets?

Now to test errors comming back on the aueue i sed to make the xml tags wrong, then the target would send a error back on the queue with xml validation failed (both queues have validation well_formed_xml). However now in testing i cannot even send the message i get an invalid xml error straight away, i am not sure why this is , i know the xml is not valid but the send used to work and i would get an erro rback, as the xml is validated by the ttarget, but this no longer works it ails strainght away, with no thing in any queue. What could be causing this ?
I think I have read online a recommendation about not using XML VALIDATION in a production environment, due to performance reasons. Is it recommended using other that NONE validation in production, and is there available documentation for a scale that grades performance hits for various types of validations?
