Value Does Not Fall Within The Expected Range Sql Reporting Services
Jan 18, 2008
I just installed Reporting Services - and installed the sample reports and when I try view any of the individual reports all of them give this message "Value does not fall within the expected range sql reporting services"
I also tried to create my own report, which compiles and I when I try to view it as well in the browser I get the same message.
I have a execute sql task which insert data into a table, but before that I need to make sure no data is available for particular date. we have a table where we are defining date for which date we want to data, and we are fetching that particular date using ssis variable 'Date'. today I was trying to load data dor '2015-05-10'. But it gave me error like '[Execute SQL Task] Error: "Value does not fall within the expected range.'. Below are the my execute sql task query:
delete from STG_Shipped_Invoiced where Transaction_Date=? INSERT INTO STG_Shipped_Invoiced (div_Code, inv_inv_id, tot_Net_Amt, trans_date, trans_type, Created_date, Transaction_Date) select inv.DIV_CODE as Div_Code, inv.INV_ID as inv_inv_id, inv.TOT_NET_AMT as Tot_Net_Amt,
[Code] ....
Here I have defined a variable 'Date', where we are passing the date. Am i doing anything wrong with the delete query?
I am trying to make a custom task. The custom task has one input, which i map to externalmetadata column in the task and one output.
When i run the task it fails with this error ( I am putting the whole SSIS message)

This is my piece of code which is trying to put the data in the output buffer (ProcessInput function).
Win XP Pro SP2IIS 5.1SQL 2005 SP1 (Developer edition)VS 2005 SP1.Net 2.0IE7 (didn't work on IE 6 either)Latest updates from Windows updateI have set up SSRS successfully on several machines. But on a new machine with standard install I have the out of the box SSRS report manager running with issues and would like to resolve them. Report Manager will serve image files from my project. But it won't render deployed reports, not even one which has no data sources. From within VS 2005 the same reports render, no problems. The same reports published to another SSRS machine render fine.The browser erorr message is "Value does no fall within the expected range".Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
I have a Start Date and End Date parameter in my SSRS report. The results are off by 1 day. For example if I enter 4/2/2015 and 4/20/2015 it will return a few results from 4/1/2015 to 4/19/2015.
I'm using Reporting Services 2008 R2, version 10.50.2550.0, and Visual Studio 2008, version 9.0.30729.4462 QFE. Not sure if the SQL version matters, since I haven't gotten the report out of the development environment.I've read lots of messages, including URL.... that show you can have multiple data entries per row in a Range Bar Chart, simply by turning DrawSideBySide to False.My data set basically contains four pieces of data, LineNumber, Equipment, StartTime and EndTime. I have data like:
(I actually have a date with my datetime entries, but that should give you the idea.) My chart is set up with Values of EndTime and StartTime. If I set my chart up with only Equipment in the Category Groups entry, my chart will show CLM1 from 08:00-08:30, and SS1 from 08:05 to 08:35. No sign of the other entries per equipment, although I added a tablix to retrieve the same data and it all shows up.Changing DrawSideBySide between True, False and Auto has no effect on the data displayed on my chart. If I add StartTime in the Category Groups, I do show all the data, but one row for each piece of data, which isn't what the customer wants.From what I can tell from various sites, I'm set up right, but it just isn't working.
how to hard code mention date range in my SP to get expected results in my query 01/01/2012 to 12/31/2012
DECLARE @ACCOUNT AS INT DECLARE @POSTING_DATE AS DATETIME DECLARE @FIRST_POSTING_DATE AS DATETIME SET @POSTING_DATE = {?POSTING_DATE} SET @ACCOUNT = {?ACCOUNT}
Currently I report our monthly fees broken down into 4 weeks per month by using 4 separate datasets with the following code
SELECT SUM(Practice.ibvSalesByJob.JobBilledExVAT) AS Sum_JobBilledExVAT FROM Practice.ibvSalesByJob INNER JOIN Practice.idvJobType
[Code] ....
The second dataset then has the date code changed to
AND Practice.ibvSalesByJob.[Date] >= Cast(@Month AS char(2)) + '/08/' + Cast(@DateYear AS char(4)) + ' 00:00:01' AND Practice.ibvSalesByJob.[Date] <= Cast(@Month AS char(2)) + '/16/' + Cast(@DateYear AS char(4)) + ' 00:00:00'
The third
AND Practice.ibvSalesByJob.[Date] >= Cast(@Month AS char(2)) + '/16/' + Cast(@DateYear AS char(4)) + ' 00:00:01' AND Practice.ibvSalesByJob.[Date] <= Cast(@Month AS char(2)) + '/23/' + Cast(@DateYear AS char(4)) + ' 00:00:00'
The fourth
AND Practice.ibvSalesByJob.[Date] >= Cast(@Month AS char(2)) + '/23/' + Cast(@DateYear AS char(4)) + ' 00:00:01'
Now I was hoping so that I could report the above data in one chart and do an expression on the category and group the dates so I would just have one dataset like below but four separate columns saying Week 1, 2 3 and 4 and then the sum filtered in line.
SELECT SUM(Practice.ibvSalesByJob.JobBilledExVAT) AS Sum_JobBilledExVAT FROM Practice.ibvSalesByJob INNER JOIN Practice.idvJobType
[Code] ....
If I could somehow with SQL tie in all 4 separate datasets and display them as Week 1, 2, 3 and 4 underneath the dataset and selectable.An even simpler solution maybe just understanding how charts work, I can get it so I display the 4 separate weeks in the chart however I can't get the bottom line (Category Group) to display Week 1, 2, 3 and 4.
In SSRS report I have 2 parameters start date and end date, so when somebody is selecting end date more than a month(if today date is 22 then they are selecting aug 23) then it should give error message to user like "Date out of range".
I have a range bar chart Inside a table of row group and the chart is repeatedly generate according to category ,i want to increase chart height dynamically based on category.
suppose for if category =A THEN CHART HEIGHT=10CM category =B THEN CHART HEIGHT=7CM
I have created range bar chart and I am not able to achieve the following tasks.
1. Change X-axis Label Format to Quarter:
I have x-axis with dates and y axis of project groups. I have changed x-axis interval type = month and interval=3.
Set the Maximum = Max(ProjectEndDate) and Minimum = Min(ProjectStartDate).
Now my chart showing 3 months x-axis interval dates in mm/dd/yyyy format. I want to change this interval date format to Quarter. The problem is LabelsFormat property is not recognize the "=Q or q or quarter" and also not accepting the expressions. How can I achieve this?
2. Placing series side by side when it is not overlapping
I want to place the same group series side by side only when the previous project end date is less than next project start date, otherwise place the next project to next row. How can I achieve this?
I have a QA Deployment Date field that is being returned in a custom report I created. I also found a sample date range parameter:
What I want to accomplish:
I want to select a From and To Date and filter the report to only display the rows that have the QA Deployment Date within the selected range.
For example.. I want to select From Date (8/1/2105) and To Date (8/31/2015) and I only want to return only the results that have a QA Deployment date between that selected range.
I would like to be able to search by a single date, @StartDate, or by a date range , between @StartDate and @EndDate. I am having a hard time with the logic on this for a report in SSRS.
I am trying to migrate my reports from SQL server 2000 reporting services 32bit to 2005 64bit. I am following the migration steps that MS specified. Restored my Reportserver and ReportserverTempDB databases Then I was using the configure Report services to upgrade these databases but I always end up getting the follwoing exception when I run the upgrade on the "Database Setup" configuration for 'ReportServerTempDB' database System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException: Could not locate entry in sysdatabases for database 'ReportServerTempDBTempDB'. No entry found with that name. Make sure that the name is entered correctly. at System.Data.SqlClient.SqlConnection.OnError(SqlException exception, Boolean breakConnection) at System.Data.SqlClient.SqlInternalConnection.OnError(SqlException exception, Boolean breakConnection) at System.Data.SqlClient.TdsParser.ThrowExceptionAndWarning(TdsParserStateObject stateObj) at System.Data.SqlClient.TdsParser.Run(RunBehavior runBehavior, SqlCommand cmdHandler, SqlDataReader dataStream, BulkCopySimpleResultSet bulkCopyHandler, TdsParserStateObject stateObj) at System.Data.SqlClient.SqlCommand.RunExecuteNonQueryTds(String methodName, Boolean async) at System.Data.SqlClient.SqlCommand.InternalExecuteNonQuery(DbAsyncResult result, String methodName, Boolean sendToPipe) at System.Data.SqlClient.SqlCommand.ExecuteNonQuery() at Microsoft.ReportingServices.Common.DBUtils.ApplyScript(String connectionString, String script) at ReportServicesConfigUI.SqlClientTools.SqlTools.ApplyScript(String connectionString, String script)
It's driving me crazy, why is it looking for 'ReportServerTempDBTempDB' in the catalog instead of 'ReportServerTempDB'? Is it possible to migrate from 32bit to 64bit?
I'm attempting to obtain a cost effective solution for my existing customers to develop reports on their SQL 2000 Server installations using their Reporting Services 2000. With products like Visual Basic.NET 2003 becoming almost impossible to obtain, I have at least one customer who is running into a dead end.
One option possibly is the SQL Express with Advanced Services download, which has Reporting Services. My questions are as follows:
Can the report designer component of SQL Express Reporting Services be configured to connect to an external database (which would happen to be a SQL 2000 database) to establish its datasets? Does the resultant designed report end up in an RDL file? If the customer published this report via the Reporting Services 2000 Report Manager, would the report be able to run?
Sorry for asking a question like this that I could probably answer on my own, but my customer needed this answer yesterday. I have scoured the web and microsoft sites - and posted a question on the official SQL Reporting Services cateogy ... in an attempt to answer the basic question of how to design reports for Reporting Services 2000 in the absence of Visual Basic.NET 2003 (or other .NET 2003 tools) with no success.
Suppliers send my client sales figures in different formats. Some send data for each sale, some summarise by week, month or quarter.
I need to report on this data, showing estimates as to how many sales per day, week, month or quarter. To give you an example of the data I receive, see a simplified script below.
CREATE TABLE dbo.sales_summary ( summary_id int IDENTITY (1, 1) NOT FOR REPLICATION NOT NULL , start_date datetime NOT NULL , end_date datetime NOT NULL , number_of_sales int not null ) GO
insert into sales_summary VALUES ( '20030101', '20030131', 100) insert into sales_summary VALUES ( '20030101', '20030120', 150) insert into sales_summary VALUES ( '20030111', '20030131', 200) insert into sales_summary VALUES ( '20030201', '20030228', 120) insert into sales_summary VALUES ( '20030201', '20030207', 50) go
As you can see, I essentially receive a date range and a number of sales in each row. The data in the real system is received from more than 100 suppliers and the sales_summary table has more than a million rows in it.
Can anyone suggest an efficient way of being able to create a report that lists sales - for each day - for each week - for each month etc.
An example of the daily report might look something like
Date Number of Sales 01-Jan-03 20 02-Jan-03 0 03-Jan -03 15 etc.
An example of the weekly report might look something like
Week Starting Number of Sales 01-Jan-03 100 08-Jan-03 135 15-Jan-03 54 etc.
This has been driving me nuts for a while so any help is appreceiated. Matt
Hi, I was wondering if anyone can help me write a SELECT statement to return all records (rows) based on whether they fall within two dates. For example, consider this table:
Code Snippet --DROP TABLE #Records CREATE TABLE #Records (RecordID INT PRIMARY KEY NOT NULL, StartDate DATETIME, EndDate DATETIME) INSERT INTO #Records VALUES (1, '2008-05-01', '2008-05-12') INSERT INTO #Records VALUES (2, '2008-05-08', '2008-05-12') INSERT INTO #Records VALUES (3, '2008-05-19', '2008-05-22') INSERT INTO #Records VALUES (4, '2008-05-22', '2008-05-23') INSERT INTO #Records VALUES (5, '2008-05-26', '2008-06-01') INSERT INTO #Records VALUES (6, '2008-05-28', '2008-06-01') SELECT * FROM #Records
I want to return the RecordID for any row which span this week. I've tried the simple approach of using WHERE GETDATE() BETWEEN StartDate AND EndDate but this doesn't produce the desired results. For example, RecordID 4 spans this current week but is not returned (obviously) with this approach.
The idea is to show which events (rows) are coming up this week and next week. Eventually the data will be used to populate an SSRS report.
I work in a big project and we will begin in using reporting services as the base technique for reports and I will be responsible for this part. but I have a problem I will discuss in the following:
Currently: We use currently devexpress reports and we have 2 languages(Arabic and English). the data in tables saved in two ways (Arabic and English). when the end user change the language of the web site the report data language changed when run it.
Example:
we have table with (ID, NAME_AR, NAME_EN, JobTitle_AR, JobTitle_EN). designed report will display(ID, NAME_EN, JobTitle_EN) . but the end user change the language of the system the report will
CREATE TABLE Person ( PersonID INT Name varchar(50), HireDate datetime, HireOrder int, AltOrder int )
Assume I have data like this
INSERT INTO Person VALUES(1, 'Rob', '06/02/1988', 0, 0) INSERT INTO Person VALUES(2, 'Tom', '05/07/2016', 0, 0) INSERT INTO Person VALUES(3, 'Phil', '01/04/2011', 1, 0) INSERT INTO Person VALUES(4, 'Cris', '01/04/2011', 2, 0) INSERT INTO Person VALUES(5, 'Jen', '01/04/2011', 3, 0) INSERT INTO Person VALUES(6, 'Bill', '01/05/2011', 0, 0) INSERT INTO Person VALUES(7, 'Ray', '01/23/2012', 0, 0)
I'm trying to simplify my requirement... providing the input of HireDate, HireOrder, and AltOrder, I need to be able to pick up the next person
For ex:, if I provide input, HireDate: 06/02/1988, HireOrder:0, AltOrder:0, the return value expected is "Tom" because he is the next person after the provided input.
For ex:, if I provide input, HireDate: 05/07/2016, HireOrder:0, AltOrder:0, the return value expected is "Phil" because he is the next person after the provided input. Though Phil and Cris have same dates, their HireOrder takes precedence in this case. If they also have same HireOrder, AltOrder would be coming in picture to determine next person
Another ex: if I provide input, HireDate: 01/04/2011, HireOrder:1, AltOrder:0, the return value expected is "Cris" because she is the next person after the provided input. Here hireorder determines.
If I provide, HireDate: 01/23/2012, HireOrder:0, AltOrder:0, as there is no person after this, I should be able to pick the first person on the list - in this case Rob.
I can write some business logic in front-end, but I thought it would be good, if I can move this to a stored procedure which can return me the PersonID for optimal performance.
I have tried writing various conditions but couldn't achieve a query that meets all my requirements here.
I'm even fine if my last condition is not met (returning the first person in the list, in case no one is available after the provided input).
I am using MSSQL Server 2008R2 and I am interested in returning rows from a 'financial' table that fall within the current year (each row contains a 'Entered Date'). I am located in Australia so my financial year consists of all entries between the date 01/07/xx to the 30/06/yy.
Perhaps using the datediff() function, or other functions as required to achieve what I need?
I have a table of orders. I was asked to count the orders that fall into specific dollar buckets. Normally I would use a CASE statement for this, but in this case, there are over 100 different buckets!
For example, I need to count the orders in $5 increments up to $400. The CASE statement would look like this:
Code: CASE WHEN sum(revenue) BETWEEN 0.01 AND 5.00 THEN [0.01 to 5.00] WHEN sum(revenue) BETWEEN 5.01 AND 10.00 THEN [5.01 to 10.00] ... WHEN sum(revenue) BETWEEN 395.01 AND 400.00 THEN [395.01 to 400.00]
Is there an easier way to do this, maybe with a loop?
Our DBA has installed reporting services on a server and now in order to access the report manager, one has to be an Admin on that Server. I am guessing that there is a mistake in the configuration of Reporting Services. Usually it should allow anybody who was added to the roles in the properties section of the Report Manager, right? I have also added the users to the DB..
Also I am using Windows Authentication to access Report Catalog items (Reporting Services is installed on Server2) from a web Application(deployed on Server1) and displaying the report using report viewer. For some reason, server1 has to be in an Admin role on Server2 to access the report catalog/report. This is kinda strange for me as I don't want everybody to be an Admin on Server2. Can anybody please point in the right direction?
We have installed SQL Server 2005 with reporting services.When tried to open getting errors as below: how to avoid such errors See the end of this message for details on invoking just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

I have some problem about reporting service add-in.
After I install reporting service add-in for SharePoint, reporting service menu does not appear in Application Management Tab in SharePoint Central Administration.
I try to uninstall and re-install again, it remain not work.
We've got a requirement to build the real time report. user can browse report at any point of time and need to see the latest data(stock market) in the report.
I've few options down...
1. Directly point to OLTP database as source and write stored procedure to show result set.
2. Replicate the database and write the SP's to reports. To avoid pointing directly to OLTP db.
3. To build the datawarehouse with dim & facts to show it in reports. I prefer this as a standard method, but this would have some latency depending on trasaction load which will differ from the requirement.
We are required to gather certain information regarding reporting services.
Which reports were requested, by whom , how long did they run for, what parameters were passed etc etc.
I see that the system tables do provide some of this information, is there a 3rd party tool or something we can use to gather all this type of information for us?
Hi, I have just install SQL 2005 SP2 and trying to get Window SharePoint Services V3 integrated with SQL 2005 SP2 reporting services. In SharePoint Central Administration, I select the Reporting Services Integration page and have setup the Report Server Web Service URL and Authentication Mode. I then goto Grant database access, specify the SQL server name, get promted for a username and password that has access SQL Reportserver and get the following error "The group name could not be found" Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks
We built our prod server [vm] with SQL Server 2008 R2 on Server 2008 R2. It works nicely. Then we made a copy of the VM and renamed it (so our test environment would be IDENTICAL to production). After that, SSRS was broken: I get "HTTP Error 503. The service is unavailable." I can't connect via http, or SSMS.
We have tried:
* Running SSRS config tool (several times)
* Running with/without the IIS Server Role
* Dropping & recreating the SSRS keys
* Recreating the ReportServer database, etc
* Checking all of the accounts, permissions, etc
* Running SQL Repair
* Going through the registry to fix any references to the machine's old name
* Uninstalling, reinstalling SSRS
* Completely uninstalling ALL of the parts of SQL Server 2008 R2, deleting all directories, removing references to SQL Server from the registry, rebooting, reinstalling everything.
None of this has worked. SSRS [R2] is still 503 on our test box.
the SSRS [NT] service seems to run, without error. The Event Viewer doesn't seem to be recording any errors. The SSRS logs say that the default URL is wrong, but we get the same error in Prod, and Prod works fine. The other SQL Logs say something about not being able to contact the service. However, as I said, the [NT] service seems to be working fine.
