Could not allocate ancillary table for view or function resolution
When I try to open a view that has never had a problem before today. I called Microsoft support and got a hot fix sent to me but unfortunatly it didnt install at all. I get an error:
You do not have any instance of SQL installed on this computer that qualifies for this hotfix.
Please check version and service pack requirements for this hotfix
And according to KB articles this problem should have been fixed by SP4 (which I have). So I dont know what to do. Could someone please help me??
I am having trouble with a VIEW. I modify the view to add a sort criteria. I can Execute the SQL and get the results I am looking for. I save the VIEW. Then if I open the VIEW using the OPEN VIEW menu option(right clicking the VIEW name) the sort order I set does not work. Please help.

When using Enterprise Manager, Right Clicking on any table in the db, selecting OPEN TABLE, and choosing either Return all rows or Return Top... I recieve this error "The query cannot be executed because some files are missing or not registered. Run setup again to make sure the required files are registered."
I am running: SQL Server 7.0 Client with Windows 2000.
I have run setup again and the same thing still happenes. I even uninstalled and reinstalled SQL Server, still the same thing occures.
I first installed SQL Server7.0 on my machine about a month and a half ago and all was fine until two weeks ago, then this started happening. SQL Server was the last thing I have installed on this machine so it cannot be a new install conflict. I can't think of any reason for this to be happening out of the blue like it did.

The connections which BIDS is complaining about are not even there in the package. I had created these two connections some time ago but then I had removed them from the package and it was working ever since.

I installed IE7 recently and it is giving me problems when I open Infopath forms to edit documents. I have a sharepoint website which contain links to these forms, when I click on the link it opens the infopath form. It was working absolutely fine when I used IE6. But now when I open the infopath form it gives me an error saying that

the SQL Management Studio keeps crashing out on me everytime i try to open a Lookup in one of my DTS packages i am using in the Legacy section.
I am copying the DTS package across and need to change the server connections (which i do), but then i was getting a permissions based error when the package ran when it tries to access the Lookup.
I tried to open the Lookup and the SQL Management Studio hanged when it tried to display the details for the lookup. It's done this many times and i have tried different files incase one was corrupted to no avail.
This used to work just fine until about a week ago. We're not sure if there was a MS update that caused this behavior. If the user saves the report to a local disk instead of opening it, they can save it successfully and open it later.

Greetings: We have a database with approximately 15-20 tables. Last week, using Enterprise Manager, we were able to open any of these tables and return all rows. Yesterday, when we tried to do this, we got the following message:

I've been coding in vb.net for a while now (getting my associates degree in desktop application programming) and my boss wants all of my new applications to be web based now. Well, i decided to take some initiative on this and begin a new project for my department. This is a very small project. we have a application written in straight ASP, we recently upgraded our SQL database connecting to the application from SQL 2000 to 2005 here is the issue
currently SQL 2005 is located in our test and UAT environments, SQL 2005 is not clustered in either location. Each enviroment is outfitted with the following SQL 2005 environment, Enterprise Edition SP1 with Cumlative hotfix package 2153 just the SISS fix ONLY
now the problem is this, we have a vb program located directly on the server that has SQL 2005 on it that VB program inserts a timestamp into a table inside the database, now how this happens is the program connects to the database and opens a recordset with a forwardonly cursor and inserts the timestamp
NOW THE EXACT PROBLEM IS THAT THE VB PROGRAM CANNOT OPEN MULTIPLE RECORDSETS, THE ERROR RECEIVED IS LABLED LIKE THIS
NOW here is the interesting part, AGAIN THIS IS NOT HAPPENING IN OUR TEST ENVIRONMENT, THE VB PROGRAM AGAIN IS ON THE TEST SQL SERVER AND HAS A FORWARD ONLY CURSOR AND INSERTS JUST FINE
NOW IF I MOVE THE VB PROGRAM OUT OF OUR UAT ENVIRONMENT ONTO ANOTHER SERVER IT INSERTS THE RECORD ONTO SQL SERVER JUST FINE, IT OPENS THE RECORDSET AND OPERATES NORMALLY, BOTH SERVERS HAVE EXACT SAME PERMISSIONS

One note, when we changed the cursortype from forward-only to keyset it worked fine but that doesnt explain things
why does it work in test so clearly what we did with changing the cursortype isnt the answer
Hello, I am running out of ideas on how to get SSRS to work. I am trying get this setup with the intention to replace our Crystal Reports server. Currently I have set up the RS Virtual Directory on a Win XP box. The ReportServer database sits on another SQL2000 box.
I can connect to the http://localhost/ReportServer/ on the XP box to display the page the depicts "Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services Version 9.00.2047.00"
When I connect to the http://localhost/Reports/, I get this error "A name was started with an invalid character. Error processing resource 'http://leej/Reports/'. Line 1, Position 2" I checked my IIS Virtual Directory properties for Reports and ASP.NET is set to v2.0.50727. I also executed "aspnet_regiis.exe -i" in the "C:WINDOWSMicrosoft.NETFrameworkv2.0.50727" directory.
Any thought on how to fix this? I hate to let this blocker deters us from deploying SSRS.

One single table when openen from a MSAccess project file gives error:
The setting for DecimalPlaces property must be from 0 through 15, 255 for Auto (default).
After which the table is openend normally. I don't recall setting Decimal Places to the table. The only numeric fields are two INTs that are also ID's (PK and FK). This error occurs also when recreating the db project. These fields can not be edited eitther from MSAccess nor Enterprise Manager.
What can be done on the table, resp. MSAccess to change this?
Hi, I am getting error while opening the Data Base Engine in Sql server Management Studio. We applied SP2. and restarted the server but no luck. Error Message:Attempted to read or protected memory. This is often an indication that other memory is corrupt(mscorlib).

I have 2 Excel sheets ( Sheet1 and Summary) in an excel output file. Sheet1 is created and loaded with data fine. Summary sheet is getting the following error: Error: 0xC0202009 at Write Counts and Percentages to Summary Sheet, Excel Destination [337]: SSIS Error Code DTS_E_OLEDBERROR. An OLE DB error has occurred. Error code: 0x80040E37.

I do have an execute SQL task to create the summary sheet before the data flow task. The execute SQL task has CREATE TABLE `Summary` ( `Counts_and_Percentages` LongText )
