I have Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Express Edition Toolkit installed but there is something from with the installation since every time that I try and create a Report Server Project It gives me error
Could not load file or assembly "Microsoft.ReportingServices.Designer, Version 9.0.242.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=89845dcd8080cc91' or one of its dependencies. The system cannopt find the file spesified.
How can I reinstall it or repair the installation so it will work. I have uninstalled every SQL2000 component in Add Remove Programs and reinstalled them. The problem is however that I cannot see an entry for "Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Express Edition Toolkit" in the Add Remove programs in Windows XP Profesional.
Can someone please help me. Maybe tell me where the uninstall file is located on disk??
Any help will be great

View 4 Replies View RelatedI went through the install of the MS SQL Server 2005 Std Edt only to find that I can not open up the "SQL Server Business Intelligence Development Studio" since I was missing the exe to run it that should have been located at "C:Program FilesMicrosoft Visual Studio 8Common7IDEdevenv.exe". Due to this happening it seemed to me that some of the install failed, so I went about trying to uninstall the SQL Server setup. Within the "Add or Remove Programs" tool I selected the "Microsoft SQL Server 2005" from the list and clicked on the button that said "Remove". This did not seem to do anything except for remove the "Microsoft SQL Server 2005" selection from that tool selection list. It went way to quick and did not display any dialogs as it removed the engine. Also I can still opent the Management Studio and see all the normal stuff and I can query the data within the databases. The two part question is...
1) How do I get the Microsoft SQL Server 2005 program relisted in the "Add or Remove Programs" tool's selection list?
2) How do I get the "SQL Server Business Intelligence Development Studio" installed correctly?
The only warning message I received during the install was in regards to the hardware not being quite up to par with amount of RAM. I saw no errors within the install tool.
Thanks in advance for any help you can offer!!! Please let me know if anything else is needed to answer this question.
Hi all,
I tried to remove AdventureWorksDB in the "Add or Remove Programs" of Contol Panel and I got the following errors: (1) AdventureWorksDB Error 1326: Error getting file security: CProgram FilesMicrosoft SQL ServerMSSQL1MSSQLGetLastError: 5. |OK| and (2) Add or Remove Programs Fatal Error during installation (after I clicked the |OK| button). I have tried several times to install
SQL Server 2005 Developer Edition (most recently from MSDN Disk
3097.1) I have tried to complete an uninstall before each
attempt.
I do get the warning about Minimum Hardware Requirement, but can find
nothing in the detail requirements to exclude my PCs configuration.
I have installed: IIS and .NET Framework 2.0
I have also used ..aspnet_regiis -r to register ASP.NET
I am, successfully, running Visual Studio 2005.
Why does the installation process stop there and what can I do next?
Can somone tell me if this has the capabilities of importing and exporting data to and from excel?

I have seen all of the claims that SQL Mobile Server 2005 is able to connect to a merge publication with SQL Server 2000. However, where are the tutorials? I must have a proof of concept in a few days to quote this project. Can anybody help with this issue? Thanks!

I'm trying to install the SQL Mobile 2005 Server tools on a Windows 2003
Server with IIS & MSSQL 2000 sp4.
I've stuck .NET 2.0 on already, but the installer for the server tools
Sqlce30setupen.msi just goes straight to the last page of the wizard and says
the install was interrupted.
I've run the install with logging turned on and this is the last portion of
the trace. Can anyone shed any light on whats going wrong.

Hi Folks
I've downloaded & installed Visual Web developer Express and SQL Server Express and now I'm trying to install the Reporting Add-In available here: http://msdn.microsoft.com/vstudio/express/downloads/default.aspx
It downloads just fine and, just as the installation progress bar is almost done and the status text says 'Registering Product', I get the following error message:
"There is a problem with this windows installer package. A program run as part of the setup did not finish as expected. Contact your support personell or package vendor"
Running VWD shows the ReportViewer control now appears in the 'data' group. I can add it to a form, but I cannot create a new report, as clicking on 'Design a new report' under the ReportView Tasks popup menu does nothing.
Any ideas, please?
Thanks
Andrew

I installed the Applications Developer Tools on my development pc, and I was able to use create and populate a database, and use Sql Server Management Studio fine. I wonders what 's the Servers Server Applications set of cds for.

We are just beginning to develop on the SQL Server 7.0 platform and wanted to konw if Microsoft BackOffice Server 4.5 Developer Edition would be sufficient to test out our applications. Naturally, we require SQL Server 7.0 (which I believe is part of Microsoft BackOffice Server 4.5 Developer Edition) but we will also need multi-user access.
My question is whether Microsoft BackOffice Server 4.5 Developer Edition definitely DOES contain SQL Server 7.0 and if it does, is it a full version and does it support multi-user access?
Also, Microsoft BackOffice Server 4.5 Developer Edition isn't time limited in any way is it? We are hoping to simulate a permanent multi-user SQL Server install for more than one user.
Thank you in advance for any and all help.
Sincerely,
Jim Wendt

Can someone here confirm or deny that Visual Web Developer 2005 Express Edition doesn't work with SQL Server Developer Edition 2005?
I
was about to order SQL Server Developer Edition 2005 on Amazon, to use
with Visual Web Developer 2005 Express, when I read a user comment that
the two are incompatible with each other. Does anyone know for sure if
that is true?
What I'm wanting to do is develop an ASP.NET web
application on a web host using a SQL Server database. I use VS2003 and SQL
Server Enterprise 2000 at work, but I'd like to learn the 2005 editions
for this side project. I don't own any of the developer tools/IDEs
personally, so I'm trying to find the most affordable way to do this
for my home business.
Thanks for any advice,

Hello,
I want to load-balance my PDAs accessing my database to make a merge replication.
As I have one server with the SQL Server Mobile Server Tools installed, can I configure some of these PDAs to use another server with SQL Server Mobile Server Tools to point on the same Database server?
Is it going to work or will it generate problems?
Thanks for your help,
Ben.
I have need to configure Microsoft SQL Server 2014 express on my development machine. I have never worked with Microsoft SQL Server and could use some direction. I have done MYSQL work before but the seems much different.

Dear ppl,
I am writing an application for a device (MDA Pro T-Mobile) having Windows Mobile 5.0 using
-MS .NET Compact Framework 2.0 SP-1
-SQL Mobile 2005.
-VS 2005 .NET
The application uses Merge Replication. The error occurs in the Synchronise() Method of the SqlCeReplication object.
"SQL Server Mobile encountered problems when opening the database."
repl.AddSubscription(AddOption.CreateDatabase);
repl.Synchronize();
I don't understand why I am having this error. It does create the database on AddSubscription() method but it is failing opening the database on Synchronise(). I have also tried uninstalling and then reinstalling all the SQL Mobile components in the following order.
-sqlce30.wce5.armv4i.cab
-sqlce30.repl.wce5.armv4i.cab
-sqlce30.dev.ENU.wce5.armv4i.cab
However, when i run this application on a device(Dell X50 AXIM) with Pocket PC 2003, it runs fine creating the database and sysnchronising it.
The target platform for the project is Windows Mobile 5.0 Pocket PC SDK.
Does any one have any clue what could be the problem ?
Regards
Nabeel
Hello,
I am developping a non-managed C++ application for PocketPC using a SQL Server mobile database.
The application is compiled for PocketPC 2003 and uses SQL Server Mobile v2. I use Visual Studio 2005. But I need to compile the application for Windows Mobile 5.0 devices. So I installed the WM5 SDK and had the WM5 into my project configuration.
The "ssceoledb.h" which I include incluses the "transact.h" file. But my problem is that this file is only provided with the PocketPC 2003 SDK and not in the WM5 SDK.
So I cannot use the WM5 configuration project with SQL Server. I also tried with the last SQL Server Mobile 2005 (ie v3.0) and the "ssceoledb30.h" also includes "transact.h".
Did I miss something to install ?
Do you know how I can resolve the problem ?
By advance, thank you for any answer.

View 1 Replies View RelatedThere are conflicting postings everywhere about this. I built a small site using VWD and SQL Server Express, but need to convert to Sql Server 2005 Developer because the DB will exceed 4Gb. Tried to install and could not connect or use from VWD. Tried to uninstall, got into large mess with the byzantine uninstall process, and have now started with a clean machine.
I installed SQL Server 2005 Developer first, then installed VWD Express 2008 without installing SQL Server Express. VWD won't let me connect to an existing database, won't let me add a new database and doesn't even show the Database Tools option under the Tools menu.
Is there someone with specific knowledge that can provide any enlightenment? Would be much appreciated.

Hi Everyone
As most of you do, I am eagerly awaiting the ability to synchronize my sql mobile database on the hand held to a local sql express database on my local machine
I know users in Microsoft have pointed out to us that we are getting things for free.
At the same time, Microsoft is getting our patience for free and at a cost to us developers.
Its nearly April and as one article says Microsoft will release a fix for this inadequacy
Microsoft...we are happy to pay for this. Palm offers it so what is the big deal. Its not the
reinvention of the wheel. We would have liked that instead of the server synchronization
that bypasses the local sql express database
I as many others are happy to pay
Please let us know when you will be addressing this problem.
I would appreciate the feedback and frustration of other developers. Maybe this will show them we are really running out of time with our clients
