View 2 RepliesI'm trying to export a SQL 2005 express database to SQL 2000 without success, really a pain in the ass :-(
But I found that it may be a hope but I can't find the page to download the in this page mentioned additional download for SQL 2005 express that will add DTS functionality to it.
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechnol/sql/2005/msde2sqlexpress.mspx
"
DTS runtimeYesYes (Web download)"
Where can I find the additional package to add DTS to SQL2005 express ????
Best Regards
I'm new to SSRS 2005, and having a very hard time getting something I thought would be trivial to work. It would appear that if you want to report from XML data, there are a variety of ways to do so.
I would just like to use a simple document that was created by serializing to disk. I don't even have a fancy query. Can someone help me with an start-to-end from which I can build upon and add complexity? Thanks.
C:XmlDataCustomers.xml contains a single Customers table; 3 Customer rows with an ID, FirstName, LastName. (I'll try pasting it as a follow-up).
My DataSource type is 'XML' and the ConnectionString is the simplest of URLs "C:XmlDataCustomers.xml". Credentials are set to 'none'. My suspision is that I am not even succeding at creating a valid DataSource. I don't know if it has to do with the XML, the location of the file, the syntax of the ConnectionString or what.
Assuming I get this right, I want all rows and all columns, so I assumed an empty query on the DataSet would be appropriate.
I've found a bunch of examples - but none seam to be this trivial - they all involve using a web service, embedded data in the query, or creating a Customer Data Extension (CDE) to provide the document. I've tried converting these samples to use my DataSource, but so far no luck.
Your assistance is appreciated.
Does anyone hava the URL?

Hi all,
Can someone tell me where to download the SQL 2005 Reporting Service? I looked all over the MSDN subscriber download site and could not find it.
And I have the SQL 2005 developer edition DVD, could not find the reporting service in there either. Is the SQL 2005 Reporting Service now available only in the SQL 2005 enterprise DVD or something?
Thanks

View 1 Replies View RelatedHi there. I'm a complete novice, trying to insall SQL express 2005. I see on the install page the following message:
Download the Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0
Before you complete a Microsoft SQL Server download and install any member of the SQL Server 2005 Express Edition family, you must install the .NET Framework 2.0.
When I click on the link, and go to the downloads page at http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/netframework/aa569263.aspx I see there are several downloads concerning .net 2.0, including
.NET Framework Version 2.0 Redistributable Package (x86)
.NET Framework Version 2.0 Redistributable Package (x64)
.NET 2.0 SP1 (x86)
and others
Which of these files should I download? Or should I be looking for something else?
Thanks for any help.
Jeff

Hi,
I found the proper page for download of the SQL Server 2005 Evaluation and I went through the steps of registering, setting up an account, etc. When I am redirected back to the page where I can theoretically now download the installation, there are two downloads available: ReadmeSQL2005.htm and RequirementsSQL2005.htm - But not the actuall installation file. Am I missing something, ot is something just missing?

Hi all,
I am extracting SQL server 2005 trial edition to my flash memory hard drive.
Hence suppose I should download one of the following three files:
"Self-extracting executables:
X86 Executable
X64 Executable
IA64 Executable "
But which one should I choose? based on what criteria ?
(This point seems clear to everyone but myself, even after I went through all the docs on the download site)
Thanks,
Jack (an absolute beginner)
When I click Download, it show NOT FOUND
What happened ?

Hi!
View 10 Replies View RelatedMy hosting gives me ASP.NET 2.0 and a shared SQL Server 2005 package.
I have Visual Studio 2005 on my machine - which installs SQL Server 2005 Express. I have also installed SQL Server 2005 Management Studio Express.
I wish to develop my database locally (mdf file) as I won't always have internet access (and therefore can't always work directly with the remote shared database).
My question is, how do I upload my database info from my local machine to my remote shared database?
Also I shall wish to download my remote database to my local machine in order to work on the database (and then be able to re-upload it) sometimes.
Please can somebody tell me how I can do this?
Will SQL Server 2005 Management Studio Express permit me to do this and if so how?

Hi Dudes,
I need a clean link for MSSQL Server 2005 Enterprise Edition download except Microsoft site. I already downloaded from it, burned the downloaded image, but the problem is that sql.cab and some other cab files got corrupted and some components became unable to install. I tried and installed it without some components. So anybody can help me in getting a proper link.
And one more thing, i downloaded from the microsoft site itself with file size around 890MB. So give me link which works 100% or those who have tried and got 100% result.
Thanx,
BP.

I installed "successfully" the SQL 2005 Trial download but I can't find an executable to launch the Business Intelligence and SQL Server Management Studio programs. They don't appear on the start up menu and I can't find them in the programs folder.
