XML Source, Package Successful But No Records Loaded
May 14, 2008
Hi
I am using a XML source and an oldedb destination to load an XML file into a database, the XML and corresponding XSD are provided by a different system and I dont have any control on them.
In the data flow I can see all the tables in the schema and I can map the columns, however when I run the package it validates fine, and then completes without going into the execution mode, its all green but doesnt load any data. Its weird and I cannot figure out if it is an XML or XSD problem, any idea?
when i run the job using network service account credentials job is failing. But when i run the package individually, it is tasting success. when it runs as job, this is the error message i am getting
SSIS Error Code DTS_E_CANNOTACQUIRECONNECTIONFROMCONNECTIONMANAGER. The AcquireConnection method call to the connection manager "Excel Connection Manager" failed with error code 0xC0202009. There may be error messages posted before this with more information on why the AcquireConnection method call failed.
I have changed to 32-Bit run time and ran the excel package, even then it is failing...i tried to use my credentials (i am admin on the box), even then it is failing...please suggest
I have created a dts on my Sql server. which gets the data from my log file and insert into my sql 2005 table. In dts i am using 'Flat File Source' and 'SQL Server Destination'. When i execute this through 'SQL Server Business Intelligence Development Studio' it works good.
But when i execute this through my c# code from my web server, it throws me an error 'The specified package could not be loaded from the SQL Server database.'
Hi all, Im not really sure if this is a PHP or and SQL problem but here goes.
Im using MSSQL and have developed a webpage that enables users to run various PACKAGES manually, however I need to display if the package has been successfully run.
Is there a system table that logs package information or is there a PHP function that I can use.
Thanks
P.s I know there are some system tables with the information for jobs but I do not want to create a job for each package.
More than 10 times, i validated the package can be executed successfully, if i use a SQL job to run this package. All data and function goes well, however the job result reported failure after i saw the job 100% completed. That 's so weird.
Anyone met the same the issue. Could anyone give me some suggestion or hints?
I have created a simple SSIS package using BIDS which does data copy from SQL Server to a excel file
I'm able to execute it using dtexec command locally connecting to the remote db server.
We have a file shared server where we are keeping the dtsx files.
Our DB server is located on another server.
We have another file shared server where Tidal agent is installed and we have created a batch file which has the dtsexec command and this batch is kept here.
Now when I create a job and run it it gives us the following outputCode: 0xC0014019 Source: tidal_jobtest Description: The connection manager "dbserver.database.db_user" will not acquire a connection because the package OfflineMode property is TRUE. When the OfflineMode is TRUE, connections cannot be acquired. End Error Error: 2007-05-04 09:09:58.06 Code: 0xC020801C Source: Data Flow Task OLE DB Source [1] Description: SSIS Error Code DTS_E_CANNOTACQUIRECONNECTIONFROMCONNECTIONMANAGER. The AcquireConnection method call to the connection manager "dbserver.database.db_user" failed with error code 0xC0014019. There may be error messages posted before this with more information on why the AcquireConnection method call failed. End Error Error: 2007-05-04 09:09:58.06 Code: 0xC004701A Source: Data Flow Task DTS.Pipeline Description: component "OLE DB Source" (1) failed the pre-execute phase and returned error code 0xC020801C. End Error
I have checked the SSIS package properties and the offline mode property is set to false but still i get the same error.
Also Can anyone let me know how to check whether we are using 32bit or 64bit drivers in connection or for dtsexec command
I have an SSIS package authored in SSDT for VS 2013 that cancels itself immediately after validation completes and execution commences. This behavior occurs when executed either in VS 2013 or from within SQL Server. No error messages are thrown in either the debug window or the log output (log is capturing everything). The only thing that occurs differently on this package as compared to another package I am able to execute successfully is that a command line window briefly flashes when the package cancels itself—but it is gone so fast I cannot read it. The last several lines of the debug output are as follows:
----------------- Information: 0x40043006 at Merge Info, SSIS.Pipeline: Prepare for Execute phase is beginning. Information: 0x40043007 at Merge Info, SSIS.Pipeline: Pre-Execute phase is beginning. Information: 0x402090DC at Merge Info, All Users CSV [2]: The processing of file "C:...AllUsers.csv" has started. Information: 0x400490F4 at Merge Info, Lookup Org [47]: Lookup Org has cached 957 rows. Information: 0x400490F5 at Merge Info, Lookup Org [47]: Lookup Org has cached a total of 26719 rows.

What circumstances an SSIS package would cancel itself without throwing any errors?
For the following ADO Connection::Execute() function the "recAffected" is zero, after a successful insertion of data, in SQL Server 2005. In SQL Server Express I am getting the the number of records affected value correctly.
BEGIN DELETE FROM MyTable WHERE Column_1 IN ('abc', 'def' ) END BEGIN INSERT INTO MyTable (Column_1, Column_2, Cloumn_3 ) SELECT 'abc', 'data11', 'data12' UNION ALL SELECT 'def', 'data21', 'data22' END
But see this, for SQL Server 2005 "recAffected" has the correct value of 2 when I have just the insert statement.
INSERT INTO MyTable (Column_1, Column_2, Cloumn_3 ) SELECT 'abc', 'data11', 'data12' UNION ALL SELECT 'def', 'data21', 'data22'
For SQL Server 2005 in both cases the table got successfully inserted two rows and the HRESULT of Execute() function returns S_OK.
Does the Execute function has any problem with a statement like the first one (with delete and insert) on a SQL Server 2005 DB?
Why the "recAffected" has a value zero for the first SQL (with delete and insert) on a SQL Server 2005 DB? Do I need to pass any options to Execute() function for a SQL Server 2005 DB?
When connecting to SQL Server Express the "recAffected" has the correct values for any type of SQL statements.
Thank you for your time. Any help greatly appreciated.

I have an SSIS Package which Retreives Data using a SQL Query like below
select a.* from dbo.test a (nolock) JOIN dbo.test1 b (nolock) ON a.DetailsId = b.DetailsId JOIN dbo.test c (nolock) on c.DetailsLineId = b.DetailsLineId where convert(date,c.CpPlacedDate)>? and convert(date,c.CpPlacedDate) < convert(date,GETDATE()) and c.PartnerCode in ('akakak07')
The CpPlacedDate DataType is Datetime. After the Successfull Execution of SSIS Package the final output results in destination is lesser than source.
The Maximum of cpplaceddate in the Destination for a particular date is '2015-06-13 23:46:08.923'
The Maximum of cpplaceddate in the Source for a particular date is '2015-06-13 23:59:14.873'
I then use the XML source connection to connect to it. It sees all of the columns correctly, but when i run and put a watch on it, or try to output the results to a .csv file, no records come through.
Any ideas on why there aren't any rows comming through? i'm using SQL2005 with no SP1
I have a simple data flow where I am trying to import data from an xml file into a SQL Server table. I have an xsd that seems to work because the XML Source can pick up all the elements in the xml file. The problem is that the process executes successfully without any rows being imported. The xml file has lots of data. But no messages or warnings are given to suggest why no rows are being written to the table.
I am having a brain-fart or something. I need help!!!
I'm developing a transform that selects data from a SQL script, then transforms that data, and then needs to update the data back into the same source table. The transform is working great, but I can't figure out the update table part. I've got it adding the transformed records to the table, but that's not what I need to do. I need to update the table with the changed data.
Any sample code or blog links would be greatly appreciated!
I have created a data warehouse that pulls information from an ODBC source into a SQL database. The schema in the destination matches the source, and the packages clear the destination tables, then append all the records from the source. This is simpler than updating, appending new, and deleting on each table to get them in sync since there is no modify timestamp in the source.
There are cases where I just want to append records from the source table that do not already exist in the destination table, without clearing the destination table first.
How can this be done with a SSIS job? Also, how can the job be run from a Windows Forms application?
I have a XL source file which contains the 1st column value is some of Numeric and alpha numeric (ex. 1,1A,1B,2,2A,2B), i have fired the select statement (select * from [sch 1 a$A9155] where f1 is not null ) in XL source editor, its not showing the numeric records means 1 and 2 were excluding from the above select statement i think it was due to combining numeric and alpha numeric.
I need both records should select , please anyone can help me to sort out the issue.
Hi, I have an SSIS package that runs each day from a live data source to create a data mart, which is then used for various things including SSAS and SSRS.
The problem is that certain records that will eventually go on to form fact tables are deleted from the live system (not a very robost database in the first place, hence the SSIS!) but these are not reflected in the SSIS transformation, creating plus figures when compared to the live system.
I currently use type 1 slowly changing dimension processes in each data flow (of which there are about 35) but I realise that this only updates records and does not delete.
The solution I have in place is to truncate the fact tables in the mart before the run starts using an Execute SQL task. This solves the problem though to me seems a little heavy-handed and renders the slowly changing dimension processes redundant (as it is currently only run once a day).
My question is, is there a better method of dealing with the above scenario? If there isn't, it would be a nice feature to add to future versions (*nudge nudge*).
Hi, I am copying records in a table. The source table and the target table are the same. I need the value from the id-field from both the source and target row. Is there a way to do this with one query?
I tried the following, but it doesn't seem to work:
INSERT tableOne (value1, value2, value3) OUTPUT source.id, inserted.id SELECT value1, value2, value3 FROM tableOne AS source WHERE ID = @number
Hi,I used sp_addlinkedserver to link to a remote server through ODBC.When I execute select count(*) from LinkSrv.SI.DBO.SIHeader in SQL QueryAnalyzer. It returns 13705 records. But when I execute select * fromLinkSrv.SI.DBO.SIHeader. It only return 885 records. If I specify somecolumns, select ODCOMP, ODPONO, ODVDCD from LinkSrv.SI.DBO.SIHeader.It returns more records, 1213 records.I guess there is something limit the return storage, but I can notfind it.Any suggestion will be appreciated. Thank you
The report having SSIS package as source works fine on my local 32 bit windows xp machine from Report Manager. But same doesn't work from 64bit windows 2003 machine... fails with below error... what could be an issue?
An error has occurred during report processing.
Cannot create a connection to data source 'DataSource1'.
is not a valid Win32 application. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x800700C1)
The same works fine when previewed from visual studio on 64 bit machine.
Please shed me light on this weird problem I have struggled the whole day with...
I created a new sql data source , but each time when I reload teh packages it gives me the erros saying: cant not find the connection and it says log in failed for the user(the username assigned for access to that SQL server database source)? But what happened was each time I have to open up the connection from the connection manager to refresh it? But still when I reloads it the same problem happened for the whole package project.
I have created the enrironment variable for that data source first, rebooted the computer, add the new configuration to the SSIS packages by SSIS Configuration wizard, and then create the configuration file for it. I think that is the steps to produce it. Why I still got the same problem?
I am looking forward to hearing from you for your help and thank you very much.
Iam using Sql Server Integration Service to transfer the data. I have to methods to transfer the data.
Method -1
Daily cleaning Dataware house Data base and transfering the data from Source database.
Method -2
Only new rows transfering from the Source database to dataware house data base.
If i use first method, Any performence issues's will come in the future?. In future my source data will have upto 6 lacks records.
If i use second method, daily date based i can transfer the data. But if they delete any previous records from the source database how can i reflect the same in Data ware house Data base.
Is there a way to print the source code from the local package. I know you can go in the source and cut and paste it into a word document. I was wondering if there was a way to do it when you are in designing the package so that it would print all the source codes of SQL statments/queries.
I need to import data from text files where one column matches a value in a table that's already on the database. I cannot even fathom how to do this without pulling the entire 1GB file onto the database and simply deleting data that doesn't match the criteria. While this would work, I'm sure there's a more efficient way to do it! Can anyone give me some pointers? I'm not exactly a DTS expert.
I'm reading data from sets of CSV source files with " text qualifiers. Most of the data is good, but I do run into some bad data that doesn't seem to get handled by redirecting rows. The type of data that is killing me is this:
I have created an SSIS package that is designed to move data from SQL Server 2000 to an Access db. I have set the package up to accept four parameters. They are:
the name of the SQL Server Database, which is used in an expression to provide the source connection manager connection string;
the full path to the Access db destination database which is used like #1 above.
the SELECT statement used in an OLE DB Source object to get the data from the source table
the table name which is used by an OLE DB Destination object. I know that the source and destination tables have exactly the same structure and do not require a transformation.
In order to change variables 3 and 4 from above and have it work, I go through the following steps:
I change the variables to appropriate values.
Go to the Advanced Editor for the OLE DB Source object and click on "Refresh". This produces an error in the OLE DB Destination object that is something like "Validation error. Data Flow Task: DTS.Pipeline: input column "strRECTYPESUFFIX" (301) has lineage ID 17 that was not previously used in the Data Flow task.
Go to the Advanced Editor for the OLE DB Destination which brings up the "Restore Invalid Column Reference Editor". I mark all the columns that show up with the option to <Delete invalid column reference> and click OK
I then reopen the Advanced Editor for the OLE DB Destination, go to the 'Column Mappings' tab click 'Refresh', then in the upper pane where the input and output columns list appear I right click and choose "Map Items by Matching Names" At this point I no longer have the error and the package will execute without any problems.
I am doing this so that I can load the SSIS package in VB.NET (2.0) so that I can then set these variables programmatically and then execute the package. The problem is that this actually performs steps 1 and 4 above. 2 and 3 are left out and the package fails miserably.
I have found some information that would be helpful if I could get my hands on the appropriate object. I realize that the data flow component would return VS_NEEDSNEWMETADATA from the Validate method, and that could be repaired with the ReinitializeMetaData method of the data flow component ( I assume that is the object to be using in this case). But I do not know how to grab the "Data Flow Component" as an object based upon the "Package" object I have loaded so that I can check if it is valid and manipulate it if necessary.
I have created an SSIS Package which provides Data to a DataReaderDestination. Next I have uncommented SSIS support in rsreportserver.config and rsreportdesigner.config
After that I have set up a shared Datasource in ReportServer and created a Report using that DS of type SSIS.
/FILE D:ETLReportingDataService.dtsx
When trying to see the report using http://localhost/reports I get a message that tells me that the package fails to execute. It does so well when debugging, so my guess is that there is some security issue.
It also does not work in preview dialog in VS. The error message there is "Cannot read the next data row for the data set dsSSIS. Object refernece not set to an instance of an obj.
I haved tried several sec. config-scenarios for the shared datasource. No change
I am using sql 2005 std, march sp1 ctp
Does anyone have a clue what could be the cause of my problem
I created a SSIS package. It imports data from a flat file and then transfer to different data types and load it into destination table. I use look up transformation. Actually before I created final table, I created another intermediate data table for references. Now I get a new source file once in a month. Then I'm supposed to connect new file and run the package. only difference in new source file is the data not data type. But when I connect the new flat file, package does not work. first one and fifth one are red when I run the package. Can anyone help me to fix this?
Thanks

(I have searched this forum extensively, but still can't find the solution to this problem)
Here it is:
I have step in my ETL process that gets facts from another database. Here is how I set it up:
1) I have to package variables called User::startDate and User::endDate of data type datetime
2) Two separate Execute SQL Tasks populate those variables with appropriate dates (this works fine)
3) Then I have a Data Flow Task with OLE DB source that uses a call to a sproc of the form "exec ETL_GetMyData @startDate = ?, @endDate = ?" with parameters mapped accordingly (0 -> User::startDate, 1 -> User::endDate)
When I run this I get an error 0xC0207014: "The SQL command requires a parameter named "@startDate", which is not found in the parameter mapping."
It is true that the sproc in fact requires @startDate and @endDate parameters, so next thing I tried to do is call the sproc the following way: "exec ETL_GetMyData @startDate = ?, @endDate = ?"
To no avail. It gives me the same error. Incidentally, when I hard code both dates like "exec ETL_GetMyData '2006-04-01', '2006-04-02'" everything works well.
Also, I want to mention that in the first two cases, I get an error right in the editor. When I try to parse the statement it gives me "Invalid parameter number" message.
This has been such a pain in my neck. I've waisted the whole day trying to monkey with the various parts of package/statements to get this to work and it still doesn't. I dont' want to say anything about Integration Services design right now, but you probably know what I'm thinking...
I'm creating a SSIS in the designer view of SQL Server BI Dev. Studio (SQL Server 2005)
I need to import a whole table from MS Access into my local SQL Server.(this task will be performed weekly, so once working I'll schedule a job for it)
I've created a 'FILE' connection to MS Access in the 'Connection Managers'.
When I'm on the 'Data Flow' tab I can't find a Data Flow Item to use as a MS Access connection. (available on the 'Data Flow Sources' are only: DataReader, Excel, Flat File, OLE DB, Raw File and XML Sources)
Trying to set up a tranform task between a mysql db using and ADO.NET connection and sql server. My query to pull from the mysql db is something like "select x,y,z from table where last_updated" > @User::LastUpdated. This command is set up as an expression for the Data Flow Task and is the value for the [DataReader Source].[SqlCommand]
I have two questions.
Why does the package attempt a query against the mysql database all the time? And Why is the query attempting to pull the entire table instead of having any regards for my where clause?
I've even added where last_updated > greatest('2006-08-15', '" + @User::LastUpdated to attempt to get it a where clause even when the parameter isn't set yet.
What is the trick? This is not feasible when pulling from multi-million row tables.
It's been a while since I post here. Anyway, I'm trying to call a SSIS package as my data source for SQL reporting service but I keep getting the error "Cannot create a connection to data source 'DsSSIS'.
My DsSSIS consists of the following in the connection string.
Another requirement has cropped up with regard to picking up connection settings for data sources from an external File.
My source and target are both in SQL Server. What i need is that if my source or target changes I should just change my external file and same should reflect in my package.
How can I accomplish it? Please suggest some solution.
